Stayed at the hotel after a friend's birthday. The room was clean and the air con worked well.
Stayed at the hotel after a friend's birthday. The room was clean and the air con worked well.
Very small. Over priced. Has a horrible cancelation policy... I'm so bummed I booked this place...
Does what it says, but quite noisy. Location is very good though!
Tiny rooms, bad atmosphere, weird smells, no fridge, no amenities, sketchy area...something you'd expect from a $150 motel or hostel but at the $300 brand name price. Stay somewhere else!!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended nice places to visit around. They kept our bags before our check-in so we could visit the city and enjoy our time. They gave is heads up about noices from the club on Saturdays. The rooms were okay for the price but having an exhaust fan in washroom would have been better.
The staff was really helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean :)
A lot of noise and vibration coming from the nightclub
Room was clean and orderly, but super small. That Mill St restaurant for breakfast was terrible. Poor service and little selection, food was so-so at best.
When I arrived around 3 there was no reservation in my name and she spent over 2 hours attempting to locate the source of the problem. She called the "emergency 24 hour" number I had for Explore/UK--no answer, no voice mail, numerous times. She also called other hotels on my itinerary to see of they had reservations for me--negative. Hours after her shift had ended she pressed on offering me food/drink, encouragement, warmth, humor, and even apologizing for the inconvenience. At this time I was not even a Ramada customer, I was just a person with a problem and no answers. Hours later Windingo confirmed that my tour was cancelled and I had not been informed she hopped on the internet and got me a flight home the next day and managed to find me a room even through Ramada-V was fully booked that night.
This place is a waste of money time and effort. There was no wifi in the room only a very slow connection in the hallway which dropped out constantly. The staff seemed to know of this issue but had no resolution after many phone calls about the issue. Not happy.
I stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham for one night and it was good. The rates were fantastic compared to other places downtown. It is in a good location near a lot of restaurants and shops. I stayed in a decently-sized room with one king bed. It was very clean. My only complaint is that the room smelled a bit like cigarette smoke. The hotel staff members were kind and respectful. I would stay there again.
Bed sheets were dirty. We asked for a room change, which they accommodated, however the new room had literal mold stains on the sheets.
Typical downtown hotel no pool, gym or restaurant. Clean & tidy.
Terrible room is garbage bathroom is terrible just a headache DO NOT COME HERE
A bit dated but it does the job. As long as you don't get a room near the nightclub
Very sketchy area, drug deals happened right on front of us twice, but room clean and comfortable.
Room was not ready by check-in, did not get room request and the room is very small
Friendly staff, decent bed and quiet, but found an M &M from the prior occupant.
After spending nearly $400 for 2 nights, creaky floors, rude staff & stained sheets are not what you expect. Not to mention the vending machines that supply warm pop and melted chocolate. Will n o t be staying again.
The worst hotel, in the worst area, at a ridiculously high price we have every stayed in. Not even one star. It is dated (1960's), ugly, and the area around it is full of homeless people sleeping several to a doorstep, and panhandlers. And it is NOT downtown... it is between town and Granville Island... and only walking distance if you are young and fit, and don't mind being panhandled and seeing homeless people playing board games on the sidewalks and asking for money for food with signs such as "Pigeon does not taste like chicken!"
Pros: -
1) location
2) staff is very courteous
3) availability of transport and food options nearby
Cons:-
1) small rooms
2) noise from clubs around there.
Walking distance to Pacific centre but in a sketchy part of town. Nightly rate is way too much for this hotel, very poor condition but rooms are clean. Service was friendly.
Who thought it would be a good idea to run a nightclub inside a hotel where people are trying to sleep!!? It should be illegal to sell hotel rooms where loud music can be heard without warning the customer. Terrible. Will never come back here again.
What they very lightly hint at the front desk is that your rooms will be right over a night club. Around 10 pm to 2 am the night clubs music and bass will make it impossible to sleep for any normal person. The room and windows vibrated and if you used the bathroom you could clearly hear even the words to the music. Booked for the weekend and checking out early! Wonderful city bad hotel. Side note there is a very high vagrant community that stay around the area, we unfortunately saw a man defecate in the alley behind the hotel (the only way to their parking area) and then proceed to walk around with his pants at his knees. Not the hotels fault but just gives you a sense of the area.
Small cozy rooms. Not much facilities to explore. Located bang in the downtown. Very easy to commute from here.
Good hotel in a decent Downtown Vancouver location. Room was spacious and clean, and quiet when I stayed.
Check in at 3pm. Came at 12 was not ready came at 3:30 was not ready aswell
Nice customer service and decent rooms. I'd like to have seen a little more attention to detail from the cleaning staff. Lots of hair around the room.
The room was too small and the room was never dark at night.
Room was OK but pricy for the money. Breakfast never happened, waiter seemed nice but never served me eventually taking care of customers who arrived later. Could be improved.
-Tiny room
- pillows were horrible
-No fridge
-No one cleaned our room
-Hallways had bad odour
-Elevator needs maintenance
*we called and asked for a fridge and our room cleaned, no call back and no one showed up to clean. For the price it was not even close to worth it!!!
In case you are staying in this hotel on Friday or Saturday night and would like to sleep before 3:30AM, make sure you are on the highest floor. The night club next door will otherwise "entertain" you in your room.
Booked online. Arrived for check-in, and was informed the rate I booked at wasn't accurate, as there were a number of additional charges - these charges nearly tripled the room rate. Advertised deposit was $100, but the front desk agent demanded a $500(!!) deposit. Did not stay, and definitely will not return nor recommend.
Friendly staff, clean room, hotel felt quite dated. Showers warmest temperature was still quite cold, but the bed was fairly comfortable.
If economy is your leading consideration, then this place is okay. The services are minimal. The rooms are small. The Ramada policies are not guest friendly. Still: it's a bed.
People were nice, only problem is thr club can get a bit louf next door
A bit noisy on weekends due to the night clubs in the neighborhood, but great price. No complaints. Very friendly staff
Great location downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff. The building and rooms are dated but comfortable. Missing shampoo. Water wouldn't get hot.
Excellent location. Very small room, i stayed as single occupancy and it was just manageable. No buffet breakfast. Fixed menu served on table. Take it if booking at last minute and other nearby property are booked.
The hotel itself is fine and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately there is a club neighboring the hotel and the walls do not drown out the side completely. If you are a light sleeper try to get an upper room
The room was a little dated but the decore was nice. The staff were very friendly!
First, kudos to the very helpful staff. Beyond them, well, not so good. Noisy floors above kept my wife awake. The door wouldn't open or close right. No bathroom fans. Slow creaky elevator. Tub that was stained. (It used to be a Jacuzzi-type, but the Jets weren't working.) Oh well, in downtown Vancouver, I guess, you get what you pay for.
Walk by it everyday. All I do is recommend that you shouldn't drink and drive, so stay at the Ramada. Convenient parking lot as well.
Small rooms and very dated for the rate. When we inquired why our room was not made up yesterday the manager made every excuse possible then offered to have someone come and assist us with refreshing our room. Unbelievable! One step up from sleeping in an alley.
This is the best place to go, the staff is amazing. The food and everything is glorious!!
Nice place in the heart of Vancouver. One of the few places in town that has coin op laundry machines. Gets a bit loud on the weekend though.
Disclaimer: I first must mention that this review is coming from a guy who normally stays in expensive hotels so I understand what I may consider bad may be ok to others.
Too noisy until midnight. Noise might come from the bar next door. That was a terrible night.
We stay in the Ramada Vancouver end we were content with the rooms and
imprest of the service of of the Lady's of the desk (Vivian and Corzinna).
Absolutely amazing staff! Thank you so much for the memorable stay!
Just horrible would never come back again over priced old smelly building gives off jail vibes
We have been accommodated almost two months now. Everybody is very friendly and helpful, especially Kerrian. She's always always in a good mood and going above and beyond.
Ok a bit loud you can hear people talking on the rooms next door
My first time ever being in Vancouver, I stayed here. I am 19 and this was my first holiday without family and they made my trip super easy and fun, helping us figure out what to do and how their system works, and gave us directions to nearby places for food and fun stuff. It definitely isn't a particularly fancy place like others in Vancouver but the service and staff are fantastic and for the price you pay it is fantastic. If you're looking for a hotel on a budget this is the place to go.
An average hotel. No amenities to speak of, just a place to sleep. It is clean and maintained. Elevators were an issue on my visit.
When I checked in the staff working the front desk were friendly and helpful. That was the only time the staff were friendly towards me.
I called ahead to ask if there was parking for over sized vehicles (I drive a utility van for work). The person who answered the phone said I could park outside and then hung up on me.
The rooms were small and outdated, but that wasn t a big deal for me as I was just in the city for a couple nights because I was working close by. The paper thin walls was the biggest problem. The night club next door was so loud I could hear it plain as day on the 4th floor and couldn t sleep. Then the following night the guests in the room next to mine threw a party. I called the front desk at 12:30am to complain and they didn t say whether they would do anything or not (they didn t) and didn t really seem to care. They just apologized and hung up.
The restaurant attached to the hotel (the Morrissey) has a breakfast deal for hotel guests but it still wasn t worth it. Their food sucks. Undercooked eggs, toast without butter, burnt bacon, no condiments offered to me by wait staff, had to ask twice for a refill on my coffee. Just walk somewhere else and pay full price for a better meal.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Lots of stuff within walking distance. But there are other hotels in the area and when I come back here in the future I ll be staying at one of those.
It was the cheapest hotel room for 6 we could find. We got what we paid for. You can hear clubs whomping all night, the beds are reasonably comfortable and clean.
We were aware that this room was in the entertainment district and we would hear music. What were were not aware of is that we would have loud, drunk, high, sobbing, rowdy, crying lower mainland punks coming in and out of multiple rooms until we left at 5am.
The room was clean, but much smaller than the pictures on the website inferred.
We said something at the front desk but they halfheartedly apologized and said 'hey, it's the entertainment district'. This leads me to believe this behavior is a regular occurance here. Good value, bring earplugs.
So upset to travel all day to downtown Vancouver to go to the coroner tmrw as my brother just passed.
Spent $150 to stay in a room that is still shaking cause the music is so loud at 2am in the morning on a sunday.
very poor sound proofing, don't stay here unless you're partying and not expecting to sleep.
Old hotel. Sat night the sound from a night club kept me up until 3am.I give it 4 stars because the staff have been great. The room is small and it is not really handicap accessible, but the bed is comfortable and the room is very clean. Again, staff have been very polite, very helpful and better than I would expect at a mid level hotel.
Would not stay here again, smallest rooms but big washrooms, dirty and outdated, yes close to nightlife but pay the extra to stay somewhere else. Bed was comfy that was the only plus side. Elevator is scary, parking is an extra $20 plus tax.
Hotel is probably useful for those wanting to party on Granville. I cannot recommend it for business purposes.
There is a club attached the hotel making it impossible to sleep before 2am on a Thursday night. The bass is continuously going.
The hotel offers a valet service where they take your keys and leave it in the insecure parking lot next door. Our car was broken into at 10 am.
Luckily, no valuables were left in the vehicle. I don't understand why they take your keys and leave your vehicle on a insecure lot... They moved the vehicle to a secure lot after complaining.
A good hotel With everything you need. Neat and very well located paralegat on foot to most tourist sites in the city
Here's the one good thing (which earned it the one star): It was downtown.
Here's the bad: This was probably the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I was driving in from Alberta (took about 12 hours), and was running behind, so I called the hotel to let them know I was going to be in at 7:30pm and they acknowledged that. Upon arrival, we found out they gave our room away, so our reservation was no longer. We then had to go through a lengthy check-in process to secure a room, and they wouldn't honour the price we had previously booked under. Their valet was a joke- we paid the parking fee (customary), but their underground garage was broken and didn't close, which would defeat the purpose of paying for secure parking. The rooms were really small (even for downtown), it wasn't well cleaned, and things were not in great shape (eg: handles on dressers were loose). Upon checkout, they brought the wrong car to me. All in all, a negative part to my trip.
TL;DR: book elsewhere-- there are waaaaay better options downtown.
Welcoming staff and clean rooms. All the amenities needed in a city centre hotel however a bit noisy at night from the sounds outside in the street.
Nice place to stay when on medical stay. Not expensive. Yes it's not huge but it's a heritage building. So many rude comments on trip advisor. If you're looking for luxury and size, go to the Fairmont and spend your money. If you want practical and low rate stay here.
The hotel is in downtown. There is a nightclub attached by a wall. We did not hear anything, but others said they were bothered by the noise. There room was clean, and had all allergies you would expect.
Location is not kid friendly but very close to shopping area. very close to bus stop.Room was clean.
Good hotel, very centralized, very clean, the hotel is old, but very well organized and the service is exemplary.
I recommend everyone to know.
The management here is terrible. We were charged a breakfast fee when we never had breakfast at the hotel and were never told it was even offered. We were charged $45 for two days of parking when the website indicated it was free and we were never told there was a charge. The room we stayed at was tiny, loud and the whole building just looks like it's going to fall apart. We are never staying here again.
Extremely dissatisfied. We have been here for almost a week, will be here for another 3 days. The room is dirty, things are not good. Our cable box is fried, and the staff at the front desk has not been helpful in the slightest. The exact quote was "I don't know when we can fix it. I will try to do you a favor later." First off-- it's not a favor, it's solving an issue that we are paying for. Second of all, you'd think that the fact we are spending almost $1000 here this weekend (not including meals at the restaurant), they'd try to solve the problems. I've stayed at Ramada hotels all across cabada on many occasions, and they have been high end, very incredible facilities. This one is an absolute dive, and definitely does not fit the standards of what a Ramada should be.
Pros: - close to nightlife - inexpensive - lots of parking Cons: - rooms very small - walls paper thin. We could hear the neighbours when they were talking at a normal volume - toilet leaked (not clean water) leaving puddle in front of it after each flush - staff didn't care to ask about how our stay was - when toilet problems explained, they were unapologetic and said they'd try to have someone look at it - no compensation for problems. Other hotels have discounted room for fewer problems - valet seemed to have kept our car in the insecure aboveground lot after saying 3 times that they'd move it underground (although it may be coinsidence that it was left for us in the same spot we originally parked in and parked just as off-center) Conclusion: I'd spend the extra few bucks to stay at The Burrard a few blocks away. No problems there.
Cozy place with basic amenities, but had many issues with the room cards not working and the room falling apart. Great location and suprisingly quiet for somewhere that is right by a club and busy street.
Do you guys except payments from credit and debit cards?
Waste of time and money, it took me forever to find the designated parking, and when checking in I had to sign a waiver, at least they have a complimentary valet service which costs 18 dollars for one freakin night, the internet is completely useless and unresponsive, which was literally one of the only sellling features Of this hotel, I will not be returning and I am looking forward to checking out of my cramped room looking over a dumpster filled alley. 0/10.if no stars was an option I would. I should have just driven home after the hockey game.
Zero rooms but respectful workers whom care for your happiness, Noisemakers are around the hotel and all of them are drunk!!
Hope it be bitter in the future.
