Loved it great food and awesome customer service! Lots of fun too
Took my employees here for lunch they loved it they turned into little kids they really enjoyed riding the ride
Nice underground ride. Food is good. Nice place to eat with children. Gift shop has clothing and souvenirs
Enjoyed it. Thunderstorms could be a little more frequently. Missed having the volcanoe cake
The worse service ever. Never in my lifetime have I ever felt discriminated, but worse part was our children felt it! They have a magician, mascot, face painter, and balloon artist entertaining the children at their table. The table infront of us had a 30 minute show all to themselves. Never once did they approach our children. We had 4 kids with us! The kids asked the following question throughout dinner at a level others would hear, "Why is no one coming to us?" We flagged down the entertainers and were completely ignored. A manager did approach us, as he was checking on everyone, to see how we were doing. I did express my concern. He did send the magician over, but the tables all around us were able to enjoy face paint and balloon animals. Never have I ever used the race card, but we are a more tan complexion than usual and no one else around us was. Ultimately, you are paying for the entertainment because to be honest the food was not that great. Please Rainforest Cafe train your entertainers about diversity and not to pick and choose who may give the better tip. Sadly, our table would have generously compensated them for their time, but that is their loss. It just saddens me that our children felt neglected.
I went to Rainforest Cafe at Galveston. It was awesome. Im gluten/lactose intolerant and the chef itself came to my table so he could prepare a special plate just for me! 5 stars!
Horrible lousy too expensive to wait an hour for food
Food was only ok. They also gave us the wrong appitzer and blet it sit. Then about 10 minutes later they brought the correct one and took the one that had been sitting there (which we had touched because it looked close to ours and moved it to another table of people. When I said something about it to the wait staff I just gotban oh ok.i watched and nothing was done about it. Gross! Also my daughter is scared of people in costume. There was a frog in costume and it came to our table and would not leave even after her fear was mentioned. Also our food was only room temperature when we finally got it.
This place was beautifully Amazing, good was great and much fun for the kiddos!
Really good food if a little pricey, but atmosphere was awesome especially for kids.
Holy cow! I waited almost two hours to get in and was it worth it. Other than sitting next to the elephant and its noise everything was perfect. Our waiter was efficient and attentive, taking our orders bringing our drinks, refills and check. Food came out within 15 minutes of ordering and it was spectacular. The ribs, chicken fried chicken and fish tacos were all a delight. I am extremely satisfied with the service and quality of food. I would highly recommend. Also there was a guy with a yo-yo doing tricks, weird but okay.
The water ride made the visit 5 stars!! Make sure to try that ride- it's universal/Disney quality top notch fun ride.
Very cool place. More for the children than for adults.
Maybe it's galveston I'm not from here
Again hostess were dumb. Food was great, long wait times for food and drinks.
I love the atmosphere here. Fun and exciting to eat here. Food is pricey but good.
A bit pricey but good food and don't forget to do the water ride the kids love it!
Medicore yet overpriced food. Sub-par service in every way imagineable and at every level. Incredibly effective in terms of pushing their merchandise (must enter and exit through the gift shop), convincing your child(ren) that they must take the jungle ride. Bring your wallet and say your goodbyes because you'll have no use for it after a visit here.
Pretty awesome food, the "Beastly Burger" was indeed beastly. Cooked to specification, very good burger, I have to say. Frys were nothing special. Atmosphere is interesting, not really my cup of tea, but if you have kids they will probably love it. Very animated jungle setting.
Four stars if I had kids.
I have never been in such a beautiful place before. We had our Thanksgiving dinner there and enjoyed the lovely sounds of the rainforest: the waterfall, birds, thunder and lightning and more. The interior made us feel like we are indeed in nature. It's a must to go there. The children will enjoy this place.
They also have little boat rides for an extra fee. But it's worth it.
A good concept for kids, newly acquired by Fertitta.
Atmosphere is great. Food was mediocre at best. Normally I'd say mediocre but this visit was less than mediocre. We bought 2 of the most expensive things on the menu. Very disappointing.
Loud, crowded, overpriced, mediocre quality tourist trap. Wait for normal super time is around an hour, waiting area is a giant store, and there is very limited seating. There is a nice fish tank and some fun ambiance, but that only goes so far. Last time we visited, the host told us the wrong wait time (half an hour longer that she said), then got belligerent and called my father a liar when she was confronted.
I do not recommend that lava cake looking thing. No flavor would have been better.... it notting but wipe cream with nasty ice cream for 17$ um no thanks....
Food was grate :) drinks where ok we got to keep our cup witch was nice and a good price.
Best part has to be the build a bear :) 2 for 25$ wow lol
And all animales I got my
Wife 2 of them and she loved them super friendly staff
Extremely disappointed. Ordered a black bean Burger with a side of pickles and a anaconda pasta. Black bean burger is exactly how it sounds. Didn't taste good at all. I had to remind the server about the side of pickles. Anaconda pasta was not good either. We are vegans so we asked for just marinara sauce and pasta. We where given a plate full of vegetables and pasta with chunks of tomato. I asked politely for just marinara and pasta again. I ended up getting a chunks of tomato with cut up spaghetti noodles. Waiter wasn't very good either. Didn't introduce himself so I never got his name. Ended up paying $40 for a meal that wasn't good at all. Overpriced and not good. Upon leaving the waiter asked me if everything was OK I told him not at all the pasta was chunks of tomato and cut spaghetti then he nodded his head and just walked away.
We had the best first experience, our waiter Sergio was so nice and funny. He gave advice on what foods to get and his choices were very outstanding. We differently will come back on our next trip to Galveston.
Yummy food with a great atmosphere. We make it a point to come every year during our annual Galveston vacation.
The food was ok but we didnt go for the food, we went for the experience our 3 yr old was going to have. To sum up our experience, the hostesses dropped the ball and we ended waiting close to an hour longer than we should have but, the manager made it up to us with an awesome ride and a complimentary dessert. Our waitress was super sweet. She was very attentive and had manners that you dont see too often these days. That being said, we will be returning next time we come to Galveston.
The food was great! Staff needs some work not the friendliness.
Food is way too expensive for what they offer, but the experience is beautiful.
Food really good but not to great for conversing with family unless you like to yell at each other.
It was a very pleasant visit. The waiter was very attentive.
This restaurant looked great when we Sat down and we were looking forward to our delicious looking order when my son pointed out that he saw a rat drop down from the Ivy and run across the aquarium tank.... I told him it must've been one of the animitronics and he had to be mistaken until I just saw it with my own eyes!! An actual RAT ran through the room across customer's feet, etc.... Then it somehow appeared behind my son and ran across the back of his booth- unless it was a different rat! The worst part about the whole experience was that the staff didn't seem near as alarmed as you would expect them to be.... Needless to say we just left- this just happened 20 minutes ago- DO NoT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!
Food has improved! Great for kids!! Only down side is it can get pretty expensive..
took our granddaughter there, she loved it. food was amazing
Kids like it. But the food is only moderately good but excessively expensive.
Service was not up to par. Food order was not correct. Got attitude when we let waiter know. Menus were tossed to us. Had no silverware and they said it was because they were busier than normal, so it took a while to get. My kids loved the location, we were on a family vacation. Little rainforest ride is definitely not worth the cost.
Atmosphere is great. Maybe not totally for some kids though
After an hour and a half wait, we were finally seated. Food was not worth the price.
Great place to bring kids. Food surprisingly pretty decent as well.
Atmosphere is awesome, service too, food good but not great.
Way too busy. Some of the stagf was great the rest were jerks.
We went saturday night about 7, expecting to wait. The wait was about what they quoted at an hour and 40 minutes. There didnt seem to many people waiting to be seated and several open tables were available while we waited. We walked the beach some while we waited, so it wasnt too bad. The service once seated however was horrible. The waiter messed the appetizer up, and the entrees. We asked for lime for the beer and he said they out, so we requested lemons. He came back with both lemons and limes. Thought they were out? When i brought up the food being wrong, he just looked at me. No apology, no offering to correct, no nothing, just a blank stare. The food was ok at best, but not worth the price. The atmosphere is neat, but extremely loud. Had the waiter been better I could have over looked everything that went wrong. We will not be returning when we visit Galveston again.
I got to this restaurant it was empty stood by the first desk and didnt notice the hanging overhead sign which said to walk ahead. So all the staff kept looking ar me and smirking instead of guiding me and my family to the second desk ,which was out of view hidden by the aquarium.. Smh. Its ok, I guess not every Rainforest Cafe's customer service is the exemplary. Moving on to the meal! I informed the server of my shellfish allergy and immediately she brought out the kitchen manager. My meal would be prepared separately and safely. Even the fries were safe to have.......bonus points!!!!!!!yayyyy. The tables were clean, the armosphere is always cosy with the overhanging branches of the trees. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and fries. The flavor was very good, blackened fish, fresh tomato salsa and my food was brought to me by the kitchen manager. SCREAMING ALLERGY FRIENDLY Wow i am impressed!!!! I even got treated to the river raft boatride free of charge for the less the less than hospitable reception at the beginning. Good going Landry group!!!!
My favorite restaurant is Rainforest Cafe. I ate there in Houston, Texas and Orlando, Florida. There are decorations with many wild animals and it looks like a rain forest. They serve soups, salads, pasta, burgers, and chicken. The price is a bit expensive. For example, a hamburger costs $ 20. Families with children go there.
Great entertainment for the kids, nice atmosphere, exceptional service, but food is definitely not the greatest. Food are way over priced and lack quality.
This is a GREAT and I mean GREAT place to work. It is very relaxed but at the same time has a good amount of running around to keep you on your toes. The guests are great and it is rare to get a grumpy customer! I get up everyday ready to be at work and time goes by fast especially because my co workers are generally friendly and fun this is including the managers.
Pricey, but worth it for the experience and ambiance. The food on the adult menu is excellent... I recommend the ahi poke tower, corn chowder and any of the steak seafood combinations. Their burgers and chicken are good too but at $17.99 they need to be. The kids menu, however if awful and offers your run of the mill kiddie options like prefab chicken tenders, spaghetti and grilled cheese... all lack luster. The optional Rainforest cave type ride is amazing and well worth the money.
Going to this cafe was an interesting experience. First of all, it looks like a volcano and has waterfalls going down the sides. Also, every few minutes, they have rainforest sounds and lights for lighting going off. There is also a river ride that you can go on, it was a pretty cool place.
I only gave them 1 star because I can give no stars. Had to wait 1 hour to be seated and then had 1 hour to get our food. The menu was very limited. Everything we ordered was disgusting. Will never go back. very disappointing.
Great ambience. Food is a bit on the expensive side but for a vacation experience it is great with the kids.
We got in relatively fast. Good atmosphere with good exclusive drink selection. The food quality was excellent and very tasty. The service needed to be a bit more attentive. A bit expensive as to be expected at about any Landry's restaurant. A good experience but could be a bit more on par with other Rain Forest Cafe's.
Always amazed to be, always great waiters, always a great time, always get the volcano!!!
Fun looking place! Cool atmosphere! Then the wife and I were waiting to be seated and this is where the one star begins! The hostess was unbelievably rude especially when she flat out lied to my face when we asked to be seated in the booth next to ours so we could share a little more romantic time not stuffed up on the family next to us. We were told by the hostess there is no server for that table however as I m sure you guessed that was untrue in every way. She was also kind enough to give us a look when I asked if we could sit at that table. The rest of the one star comes from my food sadly my food was cold steak and beyond tuff! Flavor was good. Chicken was good but also cold. Well my whole meal was cold as if it was waiting for my lovely wife s food to be complete to be delivered. Wife s food was hot and good! Service was good. The hostess really ruined the whole evening with her attitude and lies! Such poor service!
Large portions, nice manager. Food is awful. Go to McDonalds, and save some money....
The food and service were mediocre. We waited an hour to get our entrees and it was blah. You would think at $30 a plate, the food would be spectacular. I give it three stars because the way my 6 year old saw the animals was worth it. She thought all of them were real.
Great place for kids. The decor is awesome. Lady offloading us from the float ride almost broke my leg though. Right as I was getting off she spun it around and knocked me into the water.
I love this place and great delicious food and the ride it's like a theme park and restaurant and shopping in one place I love it not only for kids had a late valentine's day lunch date is Sunday and did a little shopping with my husband there too
You don't come for the food, you come for the experience.
Nice, I think better than the one in Orlando. Food was cold. Ride was nice, worth it.
This place is super fun. Food is great and the staff very friendly. My kids loved it and we had such a great time. It is a little on the expensive side but very worth it. The ride was super fun as well. Highly recommend it.
Never been here before all I can say is for kids this is a terrific place would suggest this to anyone who has kids and food is decent enough it's not over the top but it is good
Great place for families with kids who are a little older. So much stuff moving around scares the little ones. It's expensive but for a special occasion it's worth it because the food is fantastic and so is the service. Not to mention a unique and fun atmosphere.
Went on a Tuesday. Lobby and Gift shop was so packed, you could barely get to restaurant. The wait even with the Landry s VIP card was three hours long. Staff was overwhelmed. We left and went elsewhere. We called and made a reservation for Wednesday the next day at noon. If we had not promised the kids that we would take them, we would not have gone back.
Wednesday, even with reservation, we were told it would be 1.5 hour wait, but that card would shorten wait to 45 minutes. We did wait. Food was not good. The line to purchase item from gift shop was all the way to outside door. There were extra registers, but no one to man the them. We will not be going back to the rainforest cafe in Galveston. Waitor was superb. The owner of the his restaurants needs to go undercover and check them out himself.
I'm giving 3 Star because, the service it was so poor. But also the food was good, except for ketchup we never recibe it even when I asked a couple of times.
The kids loved it! It is a fun place. With a fun and exciting atmosphere. That being said, I felt it was over crowded and super loud. Out of large of the of 12 people, 2 people's food were forgotten. (Mine and my son's).
Perfect Restaurant very rich the waitress. Great attention
