A great place to be based in the RAF, Stamford is a hidden gem, rustic, but with a great pub scene all at the same time. 20 mins on the bus brings you to Peterborough, and hour on the train and your in Kings Cross, the train station of Harry Potter. Just off the A1, RAF Wittering is close to everywhere. On your bike and your in Rutland, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, with beautiful rides that take in the rural countryside with plenty of pubs to keep you refreshed on the way.

RAF Wittering
I ground tree stumps here through a tree surgeon, and was restricted to my work area so can't give an objective review, however I looked like an interesting place.
Rather strange environment all very clicky not nice
I went there for the day with air cadets to go flying. Everyone was so friendly and I had a great time.
I visited 5 AEF (Air Experience Flying) in particular. It was really great, the facilities are modern and purpose built for the Air Cadets, the briefing room was large and has a Wii U and table tennis to keep the cadets occupied while they wait. The staff were friendly and everything was clean and tidy.
I went there in October with the air cadets it was an amazing week I would love to do it again especially flying it was epic
Business here has never been so good for me, as a lanyard salesman. I've given it 2 stars because the jet at the camp gate is a non-starter, I've called the AA but to no avail, apparently they dont service jets.
Thought I was going for a glorious 2 week stay in a raf camp, but to my surprise the camp had been converted into a giant reptile centre absolutely crawling with lizards and snakes. Given 1 star due to my bike being stolen and held at ransom, also a lot of Ryan Air flights coming in and out
