Rae and Jerry's Steakhouse Review

The food and service have always been good when we go. After going to Rae and Jerry's I've stopped going to the Keg.

Rae and Jerry's is just a better experience.

Classic Winnipeg Steakhouse. One of the originals - and still great! Ray & Jerry's (along with Hy's Steak loft) set the standard in Winnipeg and continue to provide excellent fare.

Has seen better days. Steak sandwich was not up to get at sandwich. Service was terrific

Went for cocktails and service was prompt and pleasant. Cocktails seemed to be made differently than what I'm used to in modern bars, but were still alright. Fries were amazing!

After going to Rae and Jerry's for about 60 years this was the worst experience for the food and service. Won't will not be returning.

Went to celebrate a Birthday with 6 adults, haven't been in years. You know when you haven't been somewhere in years , then you go... and find out why you haven't been in years!! This was the opposite, The staff are friendly and attentive, the Managers walk around and check up on you throughout the dinner, the food was fantastic and the bill at the end was surprisingly lower than expected. Fantastic experience, we will be heading back soon.

I don't know why but a really enjoy this place. From the original red banquettes and wood panelling I just dig the vibe. Theres only a limited number of steakhouses in the city and a couple of them feel a little uptight sometimes. Rae and Jerry's is the kind of place I can relax in and enjoy a good steak (Bonus in addition to having your steak cooked a certain way, you can also order the accompanying vegetable either crisp or soft - just keep in mind the default is soft!). Soup offerings are a little gluey so I tend to have the tomato juice with some Tabasco. Complimentary bread basket is great especially the salt crust dark rye. Favourite appetizers are the smoked salmon plate and classic shrimp cocktail. This place is a steakhouse so that's what they do best - steaks and prime rib. We order our steaks Chicago and they've always been great. Martinis are ice cold and desserts are large and easily shared. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and specially trained to carry those close to overflowing martinis! So overall not entirely perfect but in terms of an enjoyable evening out I always come away feeling good (and really quite stuffed).

Went on my Bday and was treated exceptionally well by our waitress Edie. If something is not right, they fix it asap. I usually get the rib steak but opted for the NY strip which was awesome. Filet was superb

Excellent Breakfast served on weekends. Love the atmosphere. Breakfast was $16-17 and included 2 eggs, bacon,. Sausage, potato hash, orange juice and housemade toast. Coffee extra.

A little over priced. Steak was perfect and the waitress was excellent. The whole place needs an update though. Very outdated decor. Other wise fine

9 of us went there last night to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The food, the staff, and the ambiance were all amazing. I had the veal cutlet with spanish sauce and must say it's the best I've eaten in years! Looking forward to our next celebration there!

I took my wife here as our original dinner plans fell through. She ordered a chicken dish that was very bland and visually disappointing. My meal (prime rib) was also very lacking - all items came in their own separate dishes which cluttered up the table and there was very little flavor. The price is terribly high for what you receive. The menu leaves much to be desired - very little selection unless you're looking for booze. We won't be returning there.

Loved the atmosphere and the waitress staff were attentive and very friendly. Had the open faced prime rib sandwich. It was delicious. Will definitely go back for dinner some time.

Excellent service and food quality. Recently celebrated a milestone event and our server brought out a complimentary cake that was a total surprise to us. We shared it with the next table. Thank you!

I really love this place, but they've got to deal with all those drunken, wife-swapping, ad agency copywriters in tartan sport coats who chortle loudly while puffing on their cigars.

Been coming to this restaurant with my friends, Family, business associates and have never had a bad experience.

The service is ok. The steaks are not premium. Rae & Jerry's is not whst it use to be.

My Mecca of meat in Winnipeg. I wish we had you in Vancouver. The Manhattan is a perfect rendition of the real original.

Had the surf and turf. Steak was tough and lobster was overcooked. Not worth the money. Ambiance was great! Service was great!

The food was cold, the waitresses couldn't remember who had ordered what (we were literally the only table in the restaurant), the orders we did receive were done up incorrectly, and the bread sticks are inedible. This was an all around disappointment. This was for a 90th birthday. I'll be sure to avoid this place from now on.

Great Meals, Great Staff. It's no wonder this place has been a Winnipeg Icon for Decades, for Steak Prime Rib dishes. Highly recommended, you do pay a higher price, but it is worth it.

One of the best dining experience I have ever had. Our table was slightly late for our reservation and every effort was made to accommodate us. Service was amazing. The food was perfect. The atmosphere classic. It was my birthday dinner and was presented not just a piece of cake but a whole cake at no charge. Thank to all the staff for making my birthday dinner with my wife, something I will cherish and remember.

The bread was good soup was awesome but the steak was tough tasted like roast beef definitely not that good

I remembered this place as being full of old rich guys wearing ugly sweaters. Since my last visit 15 years ago, they've updated the interior (vintage chic) kept the red seats and booths (nostalgia) and provide impeccable service and amazing food. I admit to being shocked as I did not remember the food being so amazing. The menu is quite large with some quirky old school dishes (pickled herring) but every dish and dessert presented to our group of 8 was incredible. A blast from the past!

Had dinner here tonight. Wonderful food as always. Our server Jaclyn was super awesome and very easy to communicate with - always appreciate that! The atmosphere always makes me so happy too. All around a great time!

One word. Yummy. Can't go wrong, it's consistent mouth watering goodness. I love having my grenadine beef.

Overpriced and the clubhouse that everyone talks about is nothing special. I didn't think I'd ever say this about a sandwich but there is too much meat on it. I wouldn't mind if the chicken was freshly cooked but they use sandwich meat along with a pile of sliced ham. Any good clubhouse should have freshly cooked chicken with bacon and cheese included especially for that price.

First time for me tonight, can't say I was impressed. Although prime rib looked to be cooked perfectly it had very little flavor and not that tender. Server was pleasant enough when we seen her, but not overly attentive.

We have used the curbside takeaway on two occasions during the pandemic. Although, we do miss dining in, the quality was exactly the same. Absolutely excellent. Thank you Steve and your entire staff for providing this service. Looking forward to our next dining in experience.

I have been going here for over 25 years and it tastes the same every time I go. The staff are extremely helpful and good at their jobs . I like that the look and atmosphere has a vintage style . I never grow tired of the food it is always just what I expect I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone.

A classic place to eat. A premium Steak House with reasonable prices. A favorite for sure.

It's hard to get good service these days, but when you go to Rae & Jerry's it's always top notch! One of the best hamburgers in town the coleslaw is awesome! The lounge is extremely retro and right back in style these days.
