What an amazing walk down memory lane. If you can remember going out for a fancy steak dinner with your grandparents in the 70s or 80s, you will know exactly what I mean. On top of that, this place has perfected everything about the experience ... from the food cooked to perfection, to the attentive service.
Impeccable service and food prepared exactly as you like it. Red leather love!
A Winnipeg institution. Consistently great food, attentive but not overbearing service, and a menu that hasn't changed a lot over the decades. You won't find a better place in Winnipeg for beef, ribs, etc. The lunch specials are a superb value for the quality of food you receive. I have never been disappointed with Rae & Jerry's and you won't be either.
Good service, unfortunately the steak was not cooked correctly and after bringing it to the attention of the server I was told the manager would be told be advised of the problem, but nothing happened. The manager did not show up and my concerns were ignored. You're off the list.
Disappointed in the meal overall. But the steaks were very goid
Went for a business lunch. It was my first visit and the food and ambiance was excellent. If you want to feel like you will see Frank Sinatra walking by this is a place to visit. The decor was a blast from the past. Will return the next time I am in Winnipeg.
It's a Winnipeg tradition!! And it deserves all the fine accolades!!!
The Chef asked if I would like to try a vegetable stir fry; and it was wonderful!! They catered to my dietary preference beautifully! Thanks so much
The way a restaurant should be. Excellant service, excellant food. A throw back to the Rat Pack era. Love it
Food was good but a little too salty and also on the pricey side.
Wonderful retro ambiance and delicious beefy wonders
One of the top steakhouses in the peg. Great vintage atmosphere.
If you are looking for a blast to the past, old school meal, this is the place.
I recommend their lunches. This is a fantastic business lunch spot. The prices are a fraction of the dinner and they still serve their sorry white bread with sesame seeds, pumpernickel and bread sticks with cold butter.
Dinners come with an option of soup or glass of tomato juice! Plus 2 sides.
They were known for their steaks and prime rib back in the day. Their portions are quite generous but the pricing matches.
You can even order delivered eggs off the menu.
I'm not much for sugar free, but I was with someone who was diabetic who ordered the sugar free chocolate ice cream. I normally despise fake sugar so I avoid it, but I would actually order that again.
I have been to this location more times than I can remember. Their lunches get a 5 star because the value is definitely there.
Their dinners due to pricing can be a 4, but I'm still giving it a 5 because it's consistent, tonight's service was very good (a few forgotten items but her personality was very good), and it tastes good.
Pro tip: don't skip the bread. It's one of my favorite things about this restaurant. The pumpernickel is great
Amazing atmosphere unreal food and top notch service. The owner even came and checked in
This place is GREAT!
I came to Winnipeg for a music concert and stopped here for a steak.
We were in the lounge part and it's just so ... I can't explain it ... it's comfy!
The food is so good! And the portions are huge! Like HUGE!
The service was great and holy cow, the food was out in no time!
My sister had a clubhouse and the thing was so stacked!
If I could give more stars than five, I would!
Outstanding food with fantastic service and ambiance.
Had the rib steak. Was amazing despite the fact I filled up on bread
Great atmosphere, great food and decent service too.
Service was not good at all, offered a table way in the back near the kitchen, Small, crowded table. When I asked for a different one hostess seemed annoyed. Waitress didn't offer drinks, took for ever for our meal to arrive. Baked Potato was undercooked, Steak was very fatty. This is our usual anniversary/special holiday eating place. However after this time we are not that will be go back again. Unhappy customer
It was ok, I found the staff a little bit cold. The food was decent fish was way over cooked, most likely won t be back, this was my second visit there and both time were kinda disappointing
Free parking. Pleasant surroundings. The meat is excellent, hearty dishes, fast and efficient service. $ 120 for two courses and 50 cl of house wine
Used to love going. Last time there was ignored by waitress as she giggled and laughed with people she new. Quess I wasn't worthy of her attention. Got up and left and she was suprised. Told front desk.
Don't know when or if I will return.
Used to go on anniversary but declined this year thank you.
Sorry for bad review but thats what happened.
Incredible service and steaks as they are meant to be.
It hasn't changed in forty years and that's the appeal. Great food. Great service
One of the best classic dining experiences available anywhere! Wonderfully authentic home style recipes!
Classic, delish, dependable' but getting pricey. 6 oz. steak for $43 and a burger for $30.
We had a family birthday there and I must say it was fantastic. The service was top notch and all the meals were delicious! We were all very impressed, to say the least.
The steak was rare and the coffee was strong! Perfect. It was quiet and the service excellent. My favorite place.
What a wonderful spot. The lounge was packed with regulars on a Friday evening. I wish they would enforce a little more of a dress code for such a retro feel. Like no hats on men or teeshirts Portions are great and the service first rate. The menu is kept very simple. Wow that T-bone steak was incredible.
Not the best for the price but I had their Chicken maybe their steak is better. Onion soup was terrible.
If there was a negative I would give husband and I went for our first date night there .... we were seated and sat for 15 mins no even came over to see if we wanted drinks ... walked out
Classy as always, a Winnipeg institution. Could use some vegetarian options.
Awesome old school steak house. The decor inside is amazing and really adds to the overall ambience of the dining experience. Food is great and the service is also something to write home about. I'll bebck again!
It was hi priced, slow, okay but not spectacular. I was expecting much more for what the prices implied. We were jam packed, though the theme is red leather from the 80s it just kind seems tired
Never had a bad meal. Great food and best martini's
Great food and a place where one cam hear conversation from across the table!
My mother, sister and I went to Rae & Jerry's Steak House to celebrate my birthday -- we were on a girl's weekend in Winnipeg. We were so impressed with everything about the steakhouse, from the tasteful, classic decor, the friendly, courteous service and the delicious food. Our server, Rachel, was the best server I've ever had in my life. Her friendly, sparkling personality and helpful attitude really made our experience one to remember. She was very attentive and friendly. Rachel was the icing on the cake of our wonderful experience. We will definitely come back, and we will recommend all our friends and family to come here. Top notch!
Had the steak sandwich for lunch. Always a good meal with great service.
We were there for a work function and only spent time in the lounge. The appetizers were nothing special and there were a lot of sea food. Great if you like it, not so much if you have an allergy.
Definitely top 3 steak houses in the city. Service is always incredible, food is awesome and always have a great time.
A very solid place to come and eat. The only problem is, Rea and Jerry's is quite expensive.
I have lived in Winnipeg for many years and just haven't had the opportunity to go to Rae & Jerry's until today. Great service, fantastic food with a large amount on your plate and very cozy atmosphere. The decor enough is the reason to go!!
Rae & Jerry's had excellent food. Great and friendly service, and the waitresses went above and beyond. I found the price per serving is excellent. I would recommend Rae & Jerry's to anyone who wants an excellent meal.
Went for lunch the other day and while the atmosphere was lovely and service really good, the food was like substandard diner food. My husband had the open faced prime rib sandwich, the beef was cold, gravy was gelatinous and seemed like it was from a mix and his fries were hard and crunchy. My chicken breast sandwich, while not horrible, wasn't exactly something I'd cross the street for. Chicken was a little overcooked , dry, stringy and bland. The whole thing was just sort of blah. For the price I would definitely not "skip the Keg" as you will usually get good tasting food there, with the good service and atmosphere because in the end I think the quality of food is the most important thing when your paying that much money for a chicken sandwich
as it always is and should be. old school dinner, properly served and presented.you are never in a rush to leave or feel like it. great place for family and friends.
Steak was okay, potatoes and veggies were disappointing, table service was sub par. Not a great dining experience!
Without question the best steak place in Winnipeg. The atmosphere is great, food is out of this world and the server is top notch. High recommended.
Unfortunately bad timing on 5 steaks at the table. Everything was too long on the grill...
Service was nice
Classic steak house that's been around a long time for a reason. If you're there for lunch try the clubhouse.
I was with a large group of a work event and I struggled with what to order as there were no vegan options. The Chef asked if I would like to try a vegetable stir fry; and it was wonderful!! They catered to my dietary preference beautifully! Thanks so much
Fish and chips and coleslaw were deadly good!!! Lime, slush margaritas were out of this world!!!!
Classic and amazing no matter what. Get the prime rib.
Surprisingly consistent. Seems like it hasn't changed? Menu and space have stood the test of time!
A lovely time capsule, I felt like I was in an episode of Madmen
My husband and I went here for Valentine s Day 2020.
Our waitress - Alvina was very friendly and attentive. The Decor was old-school and vintage. Loved it.
My husband ordered the New York strip loin and it was cooked perfectly and delicious.
I had ordered the T-bone steak - Medium - and it arrived Rare. I did send it back and requested that they cook it to a Medium Well. When Alvina returned with my meal - it was over - cooked - Well Done.
We did order dessert, but the chocolate cake ended up being Very Dry.
Our waitress was very apologetic and of course took the meal off our Bill. But - did not comp us our desert or offer us anything to come back in the Future - which was disappointing.
Not sure If we will be back ....
When in Winnipeg I will always make a point of coming here. Traditional steak house with outstanding service and food.
We ate in the lounge but ordered off the dining room menu. The food was fabulous. I would highly recommend it.
This is the second time my wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and both times have been extremely amazing. From the service to the quality of food every minute is a great visit, just sad when you have to leave. I look forward to making more frequent visits and especially August 31st every year
Service was great. Good cocktail selection. Fries were a little boring.
This place is awesome, the only complaint is why they serve the butter so cold, not easy to butter the bread
