I always order the special without asking what it is. I always know it will be a quality dish and it always is. I often joke about how historic the restaurant is, as there have been a lot of notable people who have eaten there.
I walked in there in hopes to drop off a resume, but left with the resume still in my hand. The staff were uninsightful, moody and lacked all forms of customer service. Those first five minutes I had in there were my last.

This restaurant feels like the restaurant your wealthy single aunt treats you to, comfortable and secure in itself. The food is scrumptious and well presented, the servers unobtrusive and courteous. Worth the price.
Food was excellent and staff was friendly and very attentive. We will be going back again. Best steak I've had in years.
Very average prime rib at higher than average prices. The Keg or Saltlik is less expensive and superior quality.
Amazing place for a special dinner.
The place is nice, prices are very decent and the food is well served and carefully prepared.
Don't go if you are in a rush, but don't miss there if you want to have a nice date, or a calm dinner, spending time with your friends, as the food comes in a nice pace to give us time to enjoy it and enjoy the conversation as well.
One thing I could suggest to the restaurant is to have some low volume smooth music, such as smooth jazz, to make the environment even more welcoming.
Was there for a 50th Anniversary and really enjoyed it.
Excellent service, nice atmosphere, food was fantastic. Had steak and lobster. Steak was grilled perfect and the lobster was divine. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the steak lacked spices and flavor. Will definitely try again.

That's what 28 day dry aged AAA grade prime rib is about. It's phenomenal, I feel as if I should pay more. I travel for a living and have been to many high end steak houses across the U.S. and Canada, this is by far the best prime rib I have ever had. And the martinis were perfect, just a little dirty with Ice crystals on top.
Good steak and lobster. Salad was flooded with the dressing. Service was ok, waited for the bill for about 15 minutes.
Lounge is a great place. Worth the visit for the old school look alone. Big portions.
Was considering a large group event at Rae and Jerry's. Thought we would try it first.

The steak was well done, not medium as requested. The waitress noticed immediately. Steak was replaced with a medium rare steak. (still wrong) This staggered our meal so we didn't eat together.
My salmon was fine, was at most $20 meal. Not $35!

Waited for over an hour with family for a reservation we had made. Servers were awesome tho and food was pretty on par with the price.
Okay steaks, passable sides. For the price the food should be exceptional.
We were very disappointed in our dinner. The lobster had a terrible odour and taste of ammonia which means that it's not fresh. When it was brought to our waitresses attention she agreed that that was a recurring problem with the last two batches of lobster. The supplier stated it was because of the weather which is absurd. An ammonia taste with seafood indicates spoilage. If Rae and jerrys is aware of the problem they should take it right off the menu until rectified. Our server was very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient on the plus side. The manager did take the price of my meal off of our bill and offered us free dessert which we declined.
Had dinner this evening with another couple. Service was very lacking at the beginning.
My friends prime rib was cold the first time and when a new piece brought out, tasteless. My husbands New York strip was flavourless. My shrimp were not very good at all. The soup was nice.
I ve been coming here for years. In dec I left a good review on the best hot roast beef sandwiches we ordered.
Today I give them a 2 and that s too high.
I like the retro Vegas type restaurant but hey time to change the carpet.
I think this is the last time I will visit here. You do get large portions but there just isn t flavour. I ll go to chop or the keg or Hys.

Reliably excellent. Perfect atmosphere, sublime cocktails and superb beef. Best onion rings in town btw. Visit at least once a month for many, many years.
We had a wonderful evening to celebrate my Mom's birthday. The food was excellent as usual, and the service was exceptional. I believe our server was Caitlin (I hope that is correct). It was so nice to return home for a visit in such lovely surroundings. Bravo!
Everything on the menu is delicious and I dream about the desserts. Great coffee and liquor, wine collection. Staff is always pleasant and service consistent.

If you like throwback to the 60's and 70's, this is the place to go!!! In all seriousness, food and service was exceptional but the decor is in need of updates.
The quintessential retro dining experience. The room is beautiful and the staff are fantastic and on the ball . The portions are monster and the experience is memorable. I would highly recommend dropping in for some chicken fingers and a martini.

Waitress was grumpy and the salmon and halibut were tasteless - hard to tell which was which. Presentation of food unappealing and over priced.
Love going here at the end of the day with my best friend for pie. They have very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the coconut cream pie.
Not impressed, although the service was decent. Had a $21 shrimp caesar salad with wilted lettuce some croutons and parmesan on top.

Rib steak was undercooked and it wasn't good. I've went there twice now and both times my steak was awful. Same with my friends rib steak sandwich, undercooked. The calamari was good, but this is a steakhouse. Not impressed. Friendly waitress and waiters though.

Recently went for date night. My steak was great but everything else was just ok - very basic and very plain - including the appetizer, soup, salad, side and service. The fish dinner my date had was SO basic and overpriced. I was told the restaurant itself was an "experience" but it felt more like a bare-bones type of atmosphere.

It's like an old fashioned steakhouse (including the decor). The food was good and reasonably priced for the quality you get. Had the 6 oz. filet mignon and it was cooked just as I ordered. Had the tomato/bocconcini/onion as a starter - just the way I remembered it.
We have been looking for a good steak house here in Winnipeg since our last visit to Montreal, and this was one of the places people around recommended among others.
I will begin with the positive feedback, The atmosphere was quit nice and relaxing, people around mostly families and adults were enjoying weekend dinner.
Seats are comfortably seated with enough space between one dining person to another.
The waiter was friendly and polite the service met our expectations too.
As for the meal, the meat was good, the portions were fair enough and it was done exactly as we ordered medium and well done.
However it lacked a sauce or a twist to the old fashioned steaks.
The salads were simple, the dressings were the common known ones, the smashed potatoes were a bit cold, not too bad but not a 5 star restaurant side dish.
The deserts were delicious.
We would definitely go back there.
It's definitely one of the best steakhouses in Winnipeg, I love the fact that it looks basically the same inside as it did in the 70's it's a cool throwback.
The staff is friendly all the food was great, prices are quite high but hey it's definitely a case of "you get what you pay for"

Wife's steak was tough lobster over cooked or old. Got attitude from server when used gift certificate just talked with the owner problem rectified being going there for over 25 years and we will always go back for our special nights out thank you still love rae and Jerry's

Great prime rib and of course the atmosphere is unmatched for that Don Draper/Goodfellas/upscale 60s feeling. Service was quick although we were a large group eating early dinner on a Wednesday. We were well taken care of. The Caesar (cocktail) was fairly bland and not spicy. The pre-made canned ones at the Liquor Mart are far better. But overall the prime rib itself was excellent.

It a great place to get a classy dinner for a half decent price. It's one of my favourite places.
Rae & Jerry's was pretty good, but the clientele trends towards an older demographic so unless you're in that age group you might feel out of place. The interior is also very art deco-ish and feels somewhat dated.
While the food was pretty good, I'm not sure I would go back.You just feel out of place entirely, and that's not something that happens very often. (And when it does it's usually for different reasons).
Outstanding food and service. Party of 5 everyone left full and happy.
So the waitress we had there was above and beyond in kindness. She treated us nice, reccommended various foods and desserts to us. And always made sure that the drinks were topped up. That being said. The entrees were really good, but the fries were just terrible. Dry and as crispy as wontons, if i wanted crunchy bits I would of bought a salad. Everything else was really good, nice atmosphere, comfy seating. Its reccommended to go there for a business meeting, I only say that because half the people eating there for lunch were wearing suits. The cheesecake is really good there, if you want to go to a restaurant to just eat one cheesecake I say here is a good spot. It's also a great spot for older people to enjoy a classy meal out once in a while. I say that because everyone eating there were 20+ years older than me.
TD;LR: Good Wait Staff, Good atmosphere, good dessert, terrible fries. Good for business and family meetings. And for those seniors in your life.
The food was good and the service was great but the menu is very limited to steak and seafood. Not a place for Vegetarians.
