Beautiful hotel outside of Dublin center, so if you don't want to rent a car, catch a bus or call a taxi you are kind of stuck here. I only got a few hours here since it was the last stay on a tour I took of Ireland. It is quite a distance to the airport which was not a good location if you have to get to the airport during rush hour traffic. The front desk staff was very helpful and the bar area was very nice. Our room was very nice also. The bed was very comfortable.

Major issues with our room causing us to move to different rooms twice. Rooms in major need of renovations. Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating, especially the night housekeeping staff. Would of been frustrated with the stay if it wasn't for them.

It's tired and needs a refurb. Been coming here for 8 years and it's not changed. Rooms are dated with poor bathrooms. Beds are two single beds pushed together with two single duvets. Breakfast quality is the worst I've had in Ireland. Check out is incredibly slow. The inside does not live up the outside, sadly.

Everything about our room was excellent. The customer service left a bit to be desired though. We needed to extend our stay by one night and it took 3 days to get our reservation right and many many phone calls. Overall would stay again if in the area but I'll make sure I get my reservation details right the first time.

This is a five star hotel just off Stillorgan Road. We got a suite looking over the fountain. The suite consisted of a separate living room with a fireplace and a door leading onto the patio. Going through to the other room there was the beautiful bedroom with an En-suite attached and you could also walk out to your lovely decent size balcony.

We arrived to our room only to find there was no champagne glasses. We had to ask twice for champagne glasses. 5.34pm we asked and we got the glasses at 5.43pm. We got a knock on the door with a card from the Sales Manager who welcomed us to our suite.

The view from the balcony is simply devine. We got a stunning bedroom that had crisp clean sheets. The bathroom was extremely clean and exquisite towels. We then got a knock on the door and asked would we require the fireplace put on and the pillows scented. They thought of everything attention to detail.

The room service was quick and very pleasant although pricey at 6 for delivery for each item bringing a simple meal to almost 50.

Our second day the cleaners were extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The room service at the weekend was a bit slow.

We went to the bar to see what the service was like but we were disappointed with the bar service. We have come many times to the bar to have meetings and lunch but sadly the service had always been discomforting. You would want to wait for a lengthy period if you wanted to pay as they are extremely slow in getting the bill for you.

But I definitely hope to stay again and tend to more meetings here. We would definitely give The hotel a five out of five but the bar brings it down to a four, they need to work on that area to bring it up to a first class five out of five, it s possible.

Good location and enjoyable breakfast. However, decor tired, with many areas of damage not repaired. Staff at reception curt and unfriendly. Initial room given, very noisy due poorly insulated adjoing door to next door room and loud TV on. Given alternative room on complaining - but seemed too much trouble. Really is not a 5 star hotel. Maybe twenty years ago - not much seems to have been done in the intervening years.....

I have to travel to Dublin regularly for work and get placed at this hotel. For me, it's a delight as the hotel is genuinely fantastic.

From the warm welcome at reception during check-in to the exquisite service in the restaurants, I cannot fault this hotel in any way. David, who works in the Orangerie bar/restaurant, provides first class service with a smile throughout the day. This restaurant, during the winter, has the most incredible open fireplace providing a warm and homely feel even on the coldest of nights.

If that's not enough, the main building is sensationally stunning. I imagine it must be a very popular wedding venue given the periodic decor and picturesque grounds, which are maintained to a very high standard.

Rooms are reasonably-sized, clean and well-fitted (albeit the television selection isn't brilliant and may require a revamp). I haven't tried the apartment / premium rooms, but they look beautiful.

Views generally either look out across the grounds (my preference - odd numbered rooms) or across the vista towards Dublin centre - if on the even numbered rooms, the higher the floor the better the view - rooms on the fourth floor provide the best view in either direction.

Most importantly for any traveller, a comfortable bed and warm, powerful shower comes as standard in any room.

Whilst this is my default location for work, I would be more than happy to use this as a venue when travelling with my family; given the high standards I have, this is a great compliment to the hotel and its staff.

Superb. Beautifully appointed building. Old convent. Stunning gardens. Mini mazes. Warmest of welcomes from Anthony at the door. Beautiful suite. Seperate living room, bedroom, bathroom bath and shower. Copious toiletries. Tea/coffee. Full mini bar. Nicole on duty at bar both nights so friendly and helpful. Great food in the Italian restaurant. Two very friendly polished young men. Excellent fare of food. Great choices.
We loved our room suite 345. Stay 1st to 3rd March 2019.

Fantastic food at Colm and Ciara's wedding yet it took ages for some courses to come and after not eating all day I requested a second bowl of soup only to be turned down even though the next course took 45 mins. We had 2 guests whom didn't show at our table hence a second bowl of soup would not have been a huge ask. The servers were too keen to get each course cleared which seemed they were acting upon instructions. Excellent food yet timing was off and service lacked the finer touch of looking after guests.

Amazing venue and fabulous decorations and probably one of the best g and t s in town, however food is disappointing. Came here for a charity lunch and no-one on our table could eat the lamb because it was so hard. Ordered the venison on another occasion and it was hard and dry. Coffee, cocktails and atmosphere definitely the high points.

The most amazing place where you can have a party, wedding, event. I love this amazing hotel and the classic look of the building makes me feel like I am in an castle. Their outdoor space is breath taking, the garden the fountain and the trees make you feel like in paradise. Their food is in my point of view and experience as a chef the best food that I have tasted ever here in Ireland. The music and the ambient is making you feel like a party king . The staff is very experienced and professional, they are also friendly and helpful, they made me feel like a king while I was there. I recommend this place to everyone, even for 1 night. I love this place, I will definitely come back here. This is the best hotel in Ireland .

Absolutely amazing. Perfect from start to finish. Lovely girl at reception, very kind and helpful and extremely professional. Nice service in the architecturally beautiful bar. Impeccable service (even catering to my picky-eater boyfriends off menu request) in the restaurant. Highly recommend the meat and cheese plate! It's a beautiful building with old world service. Only complaint is our fireplace didn't work, but in the overall scheme of things that doesn't really matter! When we asked about it the lovely night manager did his absolute best to fix it. The garden view from the balcony is top notch. Also- the bed is glorious!
