Bahia Mar Double Tree by Hilton has an absolute be...

Bahia Mar Double Tree by Hilton has an absolute beautiful perfect location. Located across the street from one of the best Pristine beaches in South Florida with a pedestrian bridge connecting the hotel to the beach.

It is rare to post anything but a 5-Star review on a Hilton property so let me begin with the great things of this property.

Reservations - HIlton hHonor Reservations is always a great experience. They are helpful and strive to acomodate their guests. I booked this a day out and was able to book using rewards points for everything other than Valet parking costs.

Location - you can't beat the location of this property. Located on Seabreeze Avenue it sits on a great beach that offers miles of ocean front sand. The beach offers picnic area with tables and charcoal grills along with adirondak chairs for sitting. It is also within easy walking distance to many area restarants, bars and shops.

Room - We arrived to find our room, room 307 in the marina building to be clean and comfortable. We had a king bed, TV, mini-fridge and microwave along with a balcony overlooking the marina that included two chairs.

Scott, our bellman was very professional and provided us with information about our room, the area and walking tips to visit area attractions.

The NEGATIVE areas of opportunity.

Our arrival experience was less than stellar and revolved primarily around staff issues.

VALET - the hotel offers self parking on the Hilton website but we were told upon arrival that all parking is valet. The Valet service is slow and totally inefficient. Few if any of the valet staff speak or understand english. We called for our car and had a hard time communicating with the individual and after arriving to the valet area had to ask three different people for our car over a course of 45 minutes before we finally were able to get the vehicle. When he brought the car to the curb he opened the doors for us and stuck his hand out but I did not tip.

The second day of our stay we arrived back and were told to leave the car and keys and I remembered I left an item inside. I was instructed to go to the "valet shack" and get my keys. The lady inside the "shack" never made eye contact or looked up from her phone. I finally had to get my keys from a board they were hung on and then asked where my car was located. The only reply as she continued looking at her phone and texting was "somewhere". I returned the keys and she never spoke still totally engrossed in her phone. I hung the keys in the office and left. I realistically could have walked in off the street and grabbed any set of keys and drove away with any car on the lot totally un-noticed.

HOUSEKEEPING - Our room was never serviced during our three night stay. Upon our arrival the kleenex box was empty and despite calling for service each evening was never filled. although the room was clean it was not serviced and was missing many items such as the Kleenex, toliet paper roll or many coffee items. How does a hotel forget to service an occupied room? Not just on one day but on multiple days? No, we never put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, there was not fear of being disturbed.

FRONT DESK - Upon arrival there was heavy check in traffic due to the International Boat Show but there was one front desk clerk on duty. Check in took over 20 minutes as other staff members would walk out from the office and look at the line but nobody ever stepped up to help guests. Not sure if there was any management presence in the hotel. As a note, the gentleman who was working the desk was very friendly and good at his job.

Overall, this hotel has a great location but it is not a hotel I would ever return for a repeat stay. While in line one day a lady in front of us asked another member of her group why they chose a hotel with "such horrible customer service" and the other lady responded "that is how we got this rate during the boat show."

There are many other hotels on the strip in this area and worth checking out.

This hotel has AWFUL customer service. I asked for new sheets two hours ago and still they have not brought them. My bf requested a cake for my birthday that they said would be waiting in the room for me and nothing. This hotel isn't worth almost $500 for a weekend it's not even on the actual beach. Security guards are 90 year old retirees that cannot protect you. I will never come back here and will make sure no one I know ever stays here.

Feb. 15-19, 2020 - My husband and I stayed here for our visit to Ft Lauderdale for my 50th birthday. We had an ocean front room and the view was amazing. There was a boat show going on so the hotel was super busy over the weekend but the staff greeted us, even if just in passing. Tash handled our check in and knew it was my birthday and sent up two wine glasses and a bottle of wine along with a card to our room, that was a very personal touch. The pool area is very nice and we spent two afternoons just lounging around the pool. The service is exceptional and the staff were very friendly. Easy to get a Lyft to get around, and plenty of good spots to walk to for lunch/dinner.

Excellent location, facing the sea. Classic hotel with well maintained rooms, in the Bahia Mar Yatching Center.
There is no resort fee, parking is paid and the wing overlooking the marina, which offers the most economical rooms, has been renovated.
But do not be confused, although it belongs to the Hilton portfolio, it is a Doubletree hotel.

Well it isn't bad but the glamour of the past is definitely dimmed. The staff were all great! We only visited the rooftop bar for happy hour. Rooftop being two storys above ground level. Still an okay view of the Bahia Mar yacht area. Certainly some stunning guest specimens. Can't comment on the hotel experience and I guess, based on my previous comment, there are remnants of where the boys are...

The property is older, but in a great location. Make sure to ask for the updated room for best experience! The new manager, Bill Cunningham, has done a great job turning this place around. Looking forward to going back!

The Hotel is bad in every single way, they promised us bigger beds (which they did not even have)... The pool is a standard square pool. Everything is very old and needs renovation. When I complained at the reception about my room being dirty they said "welcome to bahia mar". Not to mention they never clean the lobby NEVER when we arrived there was an empty bottle next to one of the chairs and 4 days later it is still there!!!

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time here. The guy at the front desk was the best. The hotel was under construction during our stay but everyone made sure it didn't effect our time spent at the hotel.

Some of the best customer service I've experienced at a Hilton Property!

Worst customer service I ve ever experienced in a hotel by a long shot , no one ever answers the phone at the front desk. We tried calling since 10 am to try to get a late check out and 11:30 no one had answered. So I had to walk all the way down to the front desk for them to tell me that check out was at 11. (So no call?)No call to at least remind me. The first floor carpet was disgusting every other room you walked by smelled like marijuana. For $200 a night I expect at least some to answer when I call. On top of that the lady in the front seat had a nasty attitude with me and told me we had until 12 to check out before our keys got locked out, 12:04 my card couldn t even let me out of the parking lot. Beautiful hotel but the worst customer service I ve ever felt in a hotel.

The view was nice and the room was clean, but I was underwhelmed at the service from the staff. The front desk neglected to tell us that our room was in another building, so we spent ten minutes lost until we went back and asked for clarification. They didn't give us the right card key, and we received a lot of conflicting information prior to arrival. However, the bellman was cheerful and competent, he was the one employee we felt knew his job and made sure to tip him. Other than that, the hotel is in a good location and looks nice from the outside, and the lobby is pretty.

The location of the hotel is across the street from the beach. Rooms where clean and bright. Stayed in the high rise and elevator was busy during peak time causing missed cars. Had a great breakfast area both inside and outside seating. Pool area was very nice with all amenities available. Pool elevated near rear overlooking marina.. Great stay and would stay again

Worst hotel experience ever, to the point I've jus...

Worst hotel experience ever, to the point I've just left it and gone to a hotel down the road. Problems started with them not having a room with 2 beds as I booked, I appreciate things can be tight in a hotel, but when checking in, the staff obviously knew and said nothing, waiting for me to trapse to the room with our bags, find out it wasn't what I'd booked, then feigned surprise that the room only had one bed. "You don't know the rooms you're providing?" "No sir" "really? You don't have a system that shows you the room type/how many beds are in it?" "No sir, it's all new". To the manager on duty arguing with my wife that I'm ok with the arrangement of having to lump it that night but next night I'll get the room I booked. "I'm stood here in front of you, and I'm not happy". After an uncomfortable night, spoke to the manager on duty again "can you move our packed bags to the new room when it's available please?" "No, you'll have to check them with the concierge" !Awesome service... Wasn't planning on coming back to the hotel mid afternoon but wanted to make sure all ok. Getting back, same useless guy again, "Sorry, the room isn't available" "but this morning, as we left, you said it was empty and available shortly, that was 6 hours ago" another manager intervened and let know the room was available, so at this point I'm thinking the other guy is doing this on purpose now. Well, I get into the new room, figure I'll take a quick rest, and... Sound of jackhammers and drills. You have got to be kidding me. Went back downstairs to complain again. "They only work till 3pm" "but it's 3:15 now and it doesn't sound like they're letting up anytime soon. You know what, all I wanted was a room to sleep in. Being a hotel, I thought you could provide that service, obviously not, I'm leaving". They refuse to comp me the the lousy room last night that wasn't what I booked too, "we did provide the tie or room" "no you didn't, I booked two beds, that had one" "yes, but it's the same TYPE of room sir". Gotta be kidding. As hotels go, steer well clear of this one. Again, I get things can happen and go wrong, but they never got anything right, and didn't seem to care in the slightest. Oh, the hotel shop cash register had problems taking cards which the assistant bitched about and all the other failings of the hotel, the concierge said I was lucky compared to what others have gone through, and the shuttle stand outside? The buses don't actually stop there as they don't fit, you have to walk outside to the main road and wait in the sun/heat until one turns up.

AVOID!

The hotel was very nice and tidy with great views from our room. However, the water coming out of our taps had a yellow hue to it. At first I thought someone "let the yellow mellow" in the toilet but after flushing a couple of times, the color stayed. The same happened in the tub so it wasn't just the toilet hardware causing the issue. This made me feel pretty uncomfortable using the water to brush my teeth.I will also say: don't expect to get much included here. Parking is over $30, for example.

The hotel is a little run down. It's located right off of the main drive in Ftl Lauderdale so the traffic is aweful. Made the mistake of staying here for a wedding not realizing it was also (Spring Break) in Florida. So there was quite literally drunk young people all over the place, coming and going at all hours of day and night. During other times of the year this place might be a little nicer.

For a Hilton product we were very disappointed. Sure every hotel stumbles on a given day but this place was just one weakness after another. All of the staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel was just very dated and not well maintained. Good location.

Checked in late. I had to call to ensure feather free room. Front desk did not explain amenities, i.e., gym, breakfast, pool, etc. Did not respond to hotel messaging via Hilton app. And also, put us in a room for disabilities access that had the smallest shower space, only sink - no place to put toiletries. I usually had no issues with Hilton hotels. I m just not too keen on this one for above reasons.

The property is a joke - $150+ for 1night. Upon arriving I was told my room is not ready. The front desk was just aloof...I asked what my options are. They told me that it won't be ready until 4pm, but they'll try. I asked again what do I do until then...was told "wait". I tried to go to the pool and was not allowed since I needed a key. Had to go all the way back to the front desk. They finally offered the key and offered to take my bags. ... Upon getting my room, I was not told where to go, wondered for 15min trying to find it, figured out .. it's in a different building! Walked inside the lobby of that new building and it smelled like suage! The porter walking by said "that may be our normal smell, I'm used to it Sir". -- the room was good and clean. There is no food after 11pm. Local delivery is over 1hr wait. It's a crapshoot! Not worth the money!

We had a group of 15 all going on a cruise so we needed a place to stay. We all got to Ft. Lauderdale on a Thursday and the cruise was on Saturday. The hotel was great. It's directly across the street from the beach and they have a very nice, clean pool area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast twice at the Breeze restaurant at the hotel. The food was great but our server, Wendy... she was awesome. Such a friendly personality. And, with 15 of us all on vacation, she was beyond professional. If you happen to stay at this hotel and are their for breakfast, ask for Wendy.

We loved our oceanfront room on the 16th floor, it was spacious and we'll decorated and the view was really nice. However, we certainly didn't love the $27(for self) or $32(for valet) charge for parking at the property, that's really expensive.

This place is by far the worst place I have ever been to in Fort Lauderdale. I used their valet services. This was a huge mistake. They hit something with my car and smashed the drivers side mirror off. I asked to speak with someone and they sent out a guy named Juan. This guy was so unprofessional and ignorant that I am surprised anyone hired him. He proceeded to tell me that the Mirror was broken when I brought my car in. I then asked to pull the video surveillance to show me that my mirror was broken and he told me they do not have cameras. I then asked to speak to the person who parked my vehicle but apparently he left for the day. Every time I brought up anything to figure out what happened he would weasel his way around it by blatantly lying to me. I won't ever go to this place again and I will be sure to share this experience with everyone I know.

I did not have a good experience. Arrived late, having booked the room with an online company. The room I got wasn't what I paid for but was exhausted from travel and took it. When I mentioned my experience on checkout I was dismissed by staff. They told me the many people that book online are disappointed. WOW, this is 2019. What a way to run a business.
