Very nice place in a resort area. Old hotel, nice and quiet for a relaxing stay. Wish pool had a waterfalls, and they offered some amenities that some of newer hotels offer. Only thing I dont like is being forced to pay 18% gratuity on all food purchases. If service is good, I dont mind paying 18% but I dont like being forced. However from what I hear most of the hotels do the same thing.

From the beautiful Palm Beach with crystal clear waters, you can move back and forth between beach and the resort. However, the issue arises when you enter to the wrong part of the resort where they have installed a bird "garden" with non-native species of beautiful tropical birds such as toucans and macaws trapped in small cages. It, however, does not end there. The birds have absolutely no toys in their cells and the floor has a grid at the bottom to prevent them from resting at the bottom so they can stay up on their perch for people to see them. Domestic birds, including the very intelligent parrots, need toys to stimulate them. Imagine a life of boredom where you can never truly rest. Yes, birds do sleep on their perches but they also do like to rest their feet. I will never be staying at any hotel part of the Hilton chain and affiliated brands which you can find through a quick Google search and those who are looking for an ethical resort or hotel with the peace of mind that they are not funding animal abuse shouldn't either. I am not recommending the hotel to any of my friends or family and if this is an issue you particularly care about, feel free to share this message to everyone you know.

Aruba has plenty of other beautiful resorts, hotels and airbnbs and is a beautiful country where you can see plenty of REAL wildlife that are not trapped without anything to do just for peoples' viewing pleasure. Go to more residential Savaneta and San Nicolas or the Arikok National park and you might see lizards, iguanas, goats, chickens, donkeys and plenty of birds NATIVE TO ARUBA happy and healthy. Do yourself a favour and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. If you like the beach, many other resorts are overlooking Palm Beach and the equally beautiful Eagle Beach!

Thank you for reading my review!

I am a solo traveler who is currently staying at Hilton Aruba Resort for the week before Christmas. I am very dissatisfied with the treatment by the staff. I have been visiting Aruba for tha last three years and never felt like a second class citizen. The Hilton charges 18% gratuity at all their bars and restaurants then the staff ignores you especially if you are a black female like myself . I usually stay at Marriott Stellaris and Ocean Club , never encounteted this problem . I am a Caribbean American woman and shame on you Hilton for blatant racism. NEVER AGAIN

Wonderful location right in the middle of Palm beach, walking distance to stores, restaurants, movie theatre and nightlife. Rooms are clean and the restaurants in the resort are excellent too. I enjoyed my stay here.

My 5th time. Originally built 1959, updated number of times. Currently managed by Hilton. Grounds and location great. Staff efficient and friendly. Rooms do need to be brought up to 2019.

My wife , teenage daughters and I, stayed at this hotel ,beginning of August 2016,for 10 days . Check in took for ever with lots of complains from all people waiting for no reason .The pool was closed for months, under construction (noisy and unpeeling). No activities for any age or any time, the biggest complain were the rooms ,you can hear the people from other rooms talking, walking, music ,tv etc (the walls are so thin) if you try to sit outside on the small balcony the huge air condition unit on top of the building below is so load you get a headache .The location of the hotel is good, the beach in front of the hotel is very nice.

This is our 3rd trip to Aruba we love Aruba but this trip I am taking at least 2 stars of of my previous rating.

1.Service on beach none.wait for a can of beer at 45 minutes

2.breakfast slow slow service .

3. Casino rude dealer. Racial comments were made toward my husband the dealer heard it he was made aware he did not deal with situation.

4. Paid over 1400 for 6 for New Years dinner. Wait online 30 minutes . They gave our table to some one else waited 10 minutes for them to find another table.

5. Food was cold not good at all.

Next year again Aruba but not Hilton. We are life time diamond hilton honors members this was a disappointment.

Worst nacho ever at the Gilligan island restaurant. Drinks were to small for the price the hotel itself is good but paying for umbrella.. i dont know what to make out of it i vacation in other countries i never paid for umbrella or what they call palapas.
The beach in front of the hotel was the highlight of my trip the room was clean the garden view was also ok
Overall. The hotel is good but the food and drinks need improvements

It is a pity that I can only give one star, as the hotel did very well overall (comfortable beds, nice rooms, delicious breakfast, generous pool area), but there are 2 points that destroy everything:
1. Places on the beach (couch / umbrella) either have to be paid for dearly or have to be reserved extensively the day before
2. (and that is not a good thing to talk about) various birds are kept in cages in the garden so that guests can be photographed with them - this is not possible and leads to this devaluation.

The room was very nice and clean once we finally got to it. We had booked and prepaid for a king room with full ocean view, but when we got there we were told there we're no King rooms available at all. Finally after a bit of going back and forth, miraculously a king room happened to be available. However, it turned out that the room was directly above the bar and close to the area where wedding receptions are held. They were weddings receptions every night we were there except for one and the music from both the bar and the reception was Bad and Loud until after midnight. The rest of the hotel was lovely, but you have to compete and pay for palapas on the beach or hope that you can reserve one late in the afternoon for free. It's quite a racket. If we ever go back to Aruba, we won't stay here.

Nice hotel.. except bathroom was something you'd see in a cheap motel...in severe need of renovation. Had a great Oceanview room in Bonaire tower#2. Room 2409 on 4th floor. Clean resort with nice employees. Lots of scheduled activities every day and drink specials. Don't order the Aruba, Aruba unless it's the special($14.25!) Go for the free palapas...#24 &#3 were nice and quiet with decent views. I would definitely go back

Really liked our stay here. Check in was smooth. Rooms clean with nice garden view. Pool and beach area is clean and relaxing. My wife doesnt like lizards/ iguanas which aruba is full of, even on the resort. Didn't try the restaurant in the resort so cant comment on the food. Many eating options just across the hotel.

Stop! Read my story before you book this hotel! July 25, 2016

When arriving, no one greeted us , no hand towel given to wipe hands and face as given to other guest and we weren t even offered any water. The agent took a while to assign us a room. The manager tell us The room we requested was unavailable. He mentions he can put us in a garden view room for a night and move us over the next day. I reminded him we were only there for (4) days and we didn t want to deal with the inconvenience of having to move to another room. I stated to him the only thing that would make us happy is if we are upgraded to something better. We just went with the garden view. . It smelled like mold and mildew. Our floor had blowers all in the hall. The room needed upgrades. Our balcnly faced the parking lot and dumpsters. The manager offered us to stay at the Hyatt Hotel and we accepted. Hyatt was full. Another manager taken us to the 8th floor of the executive club floor. This room and was up to standards still only partial view of the ocean. We ended up staying. No notice on website about construction.

Day (4) We arrived to our Palapa at 11:45am. . A family was there. My Husband asked them if they rented it. They stated no, the palap s are owned by the government and the public are allowed to use them. Being we are tourist and there are no signs on the beach telling you it s a public beach or the management telling you the public have the right to take a cabana that was assigned to you can be taken by a local. we went to the towel hut to tell them. They called the police. While waiting the locals became rude and irate with us. The police finally came and stated the locals are correct and explained to us the laws. They also took a police report. We proceeded to move away from the locals and the other guest did to because everyone was just disgusted with the entire situation. The locals continued to enjoy their day at the beach. Now my problem is with the Hilton! Why would you put your guest in situations like this? The situation could have really gotten out of hand. Before the cops arrived the situations started to escalate. I felt threaten at one point and it s the Hilton fault that they put myself and my husband in harm s way. No manager apologized to us.

Check out day, the manager who we dealt with upon check in gave us wanted us to speak to Japp van Dam the Director of Operations. I began to tell him our experience. He never apologized, he had an answer for every situation or complaint. I told him about the Palapa incident and how the Hilton should notify it s guest in some form that locals can take it. His response We do that s not the truth because they didn t tell us or the other (10) guest who was frustrated by the situation. I told him about the not knowing it was a public beach. His response was Well Aruba is not for you . I told him about the garden view room his response was Well what makes you think we had a better room to give you . I proceeded to tell him I am done, I will deal with it accordantly when I get back to the states. I walked away from him and proceeded to the front desk where my husband walked to check out with the female manager. He followed me I told him again, yelling at this point I am done, please leave me alone. Now he s getting closer to me. I then go behind the desk where the female manager was, yelling please leave me alone stop I am done. He notice other guest begin to notice so he apologies. I just repeatedly asked for the General Manager. Now I really feel threaten when the Director of Operations is not willing to listen. I m really shaken at the point. We wanted nothing more than to just leave the premises.

IN EDTE HOGEL DOES NOT CONVENITE ALL INCLUSIVE SINCE YOU HAVE A FEW BARS AND REDTAURANES ... IT IS OK TO CRUSH IN FRONT AND EAT THROUGH THERE ... BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY PLACES ... and the beach is one of the best since it has a lot of activity and is extenza ... you also have the possibility of visiting all the hotels on the coast walking down a corridor before the beach .. and you can get into the hotels too .... Went here with family, paid a ton for a hotel that has spoiled food, not so great service, rooms. If you walk to the hotels near Hilton you will see a big difference in how nice they are. Hilton has 3 restaurants that are open 1 for breakfast (buffet which isn't so great), 1 lunch (by the pool, is horrible with spoiled lettuce), 1 dinner and only the dinner one is okay. We had to go to other hotels to eat quality food. After 11 pm everything is closed in the hotel, no food and no activities.
