Pretty good BBQ, definitely some different choices on the menu. I had the Hash Bowl. Definitely worth a try.

Got the jumbo burnt ends sandwich....not sure they were the most burnt burnt ends I ve had, but their original sauce is undeniably boss. Lil pricey, but would go again.

If Chipotle and (OK) Joe's BBQ had a baby, they would name it The Rub. Indulge away!

It was good, but nothing special when it comes to BBQ.

Ordered the ultimate platter and thought I could tackle it myself. I liked to myself. It's a pile of meat and two large sides.
The ribs were very good. The pulled pork and the burnt end we're good. The sausage was not good. The beans tasted great and the coleslaw fell flat in my opinion.
Both the Original and the sweet BBQ sauce were very well made.

Fast casual BBQ. Love the Hillbilly Bowl with pulled pork. Best cornbread in town.

Food was good, but the service was fantastic. Multiple employees took time to answer menu questions thoroughly and interact with our kids.

I've heard the Rub referred to as "a Chipolte for BBQ" and although the ordering style is similar to Chipolte, the quality and taste far exceeds Chipolte and most BBQ joints. KC has a lot of BBQ competition and this place is at the top. You will not leave this place hungry and you will be very satisfied.

After reading the other reviews we were disappointed in the ribs---too fatty and not smoky tasting and the Carolina slaw was pretty tasteless.

Awesome barbecue, burnt ends r always tender and tasty. Family has gone here for years and have never been disappointed. The sides r always delicious as well.

Pork sandwich is really good. My favorite when I eat here.

This place is awesome, they are quick, great tasting and enjoyable. Went in there for the first time and instantly was rushed with an amazing smell of bbq as you open the door and the ribs are done perfectly my wife had the pulled pork and she loved it, it is a hidden gem for bbq buy a entree meal and receive a free kids meal. Prices are amazing especially with families, bought 2 entrees and both kidseals were free paid 20$ for a great meal, definitely going again

Service isn't great, food is really average but definitely overpriced for how good it is.

The BBQ sauce is really bad, though. They all weirdly taste like raisins and they're way too sweet, even the "spicy" one.

I found this place by accident. It was a good accident. Great ribs and even better sauce !

Food is always amazing, with a unique twist to BBQ such as Burnt End Breakfast Burrito, and bowls with multiple kinds of meat. Always recommend this place to BBQ fans

This was very good. We all had the baked potato, one with pulled pork, one with brisket, and one with ham. Everyone really enjoyed it. The weather was great so we sat outside. The service was excellent. We will have to go again.

The sauce was good. The meat was horrible, it was great tasting.....the little bit of meat I did get. Most of it was fat and I was highly disappointed. If they used meat instead of fat, I would recommend it.

I treat burnt ends as a measure of BBQ prowess. This place is winning. Great burnt ends!

Not impressed. Heated up leftover type of BBQ. You always get what you pay for usually at other establishments. This is not the case here. They could learn alot from Burnt End BBQ which even their establishments falls short of expectations at times. You get what you pay for at most places. Go with the places that are consistent like Joe's, Jack Srack, or Q 39. You won't be disappointed with the quality or price.

These guys that run this BBQ restaurant are awesome and they make great food. I visit once a week for some lunch specials and if you need BBQ catered this is your place.

Our family had a great experience at the Rub! They accommodated us on allergies & were very welcoming. Burnt ends were the highlight, sauces were very nice and the fries were excellent.

It was pretty good! The meat was a little dry...service was great,sauce was good.

My first visit. YUM! I ordered the regular size Hash Bowl. All the meat and a LOT of MEAT for $10. Ross, Kevin, Cagney, and Edna were wonderful hosts and I loved having REAL cutlery and tableware. Don't worry about napkins, every table is supplied with a generous roll of absorbent paper TOWELS. A feast.

We needed last minute catering for 20 people. They had it ready in 10 minutes and it was great.

LOVE this place!! They have AMAZING food, the staff is friendly, and facility is clean! We hired them to be our caterer for our wedding and they went above and beyond for us to make sure our wedding day was perfect and not stressful. I don't have anything bad to say about them! Highly recommend!!

KC has it's BBQ places with FIERCE customer loyalty. This is a newer restaurant that deserves some attention. I live close to The Rub so that weighs in, but this is probably my favorite BBQ place. Their bowls are really good, ribs fall off the bone, sausage is perfectly smoked. All-in-all, a great place to grab lunch.

Food was good, corn was great! Only Issue was the staff standing at front counter eating, even while helping customers. Distasteful and most likely a code violation. A little appalling to watch the girl help customers with her mouth full of food.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food here! The experience is one that I will remember forever! Not only is the food delicious, but the staff seemed to really enjoy working there. It shows in the way they interact with each other and with my friends

Great Ribs! Friendly service, easy fast wonderful place to chill.

The food was pretty good. Figured the meat would have more of a smoke flavor. The mac and cheese was great and the flavor of the BBQ sauce was great.

The Rub consistently provides great food and service, especially the Friday 1/2 rack ribs & 1 side for 9.99. Many sides choices too.

Lets see ive been eating the rub for a few months now and have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt here however their food just isnt good. Their ribs are like trying to eat rubber erasers over cook and lousy. Their pasta they make might as well been made by a 6 year old noodles over cooked and mushy. Their chicken is either over cooked with no flavor or raw. Their chilli looks like it was made 3 days before they even serve it. They only thing i cam honestly say i like from this eatery is their cheese corn but then again cheese corn is hard to mess up. If your looking for good bbq i suggest going any where but here.

Admittedly I got there 30 minutes before closing. The meat/beef I got was borderline cold and quite frankly very average tasting. Staff were very friendly but the restaurant struck me as more fast-foodish than authentic BBQ. I was visiting from out of town and was hoping for some good BBQ.

This was awesome. I love Q39 but I'd flip a coin over that or this place any day. I can't wait to go back!

The hillbilly bowl with had burnt ends and half pulled pork is amazing with their cornbread, onion strings, and cheesy corn.

This might be the best BBQ I ve ever eaten. Easy to walk-in and get to go, or eat inside. Great portions for sharing and families.

The burnt ends were good. The other meats had NO smoke flavoring. The turkey had NO smoke or any other flavoring, no taste at all. The bar-b-qued beans and cheesy corn was very good. The potato salad was not.

My son and I have been hitting the Rub for a while now and should have written this long ago. In short...this is a BBQ joint that serves it traditionally, but the burritos and bowls is where it's at. My favorite...pulled pork burrito with some Carolina slaw on top. Think Chipolte only the BBQ way. Nice work Dan....keep it up!

Great ribs and brisket. Ate here once a week during lockdown. Love their creamy coleslaw and onion straws. Generous portions! Terrific place. So glad they made it through lockdown!

This place is awesome. It doesn't matter if you are looking for a place to go for work lunch or just sitting back watching the game. The owner and staff are friendly. You owe it to yourself to try it!

I always have a decent experience here. The burnt ends and ribs are a good go-to. They have improved over the last year from when they first opened. When they first opened it was typically pretty rough, but it is always a solid B experience now.

The Rub BBQ served our company Christmas Dinner -- two shifts. Service was excellent and everyone raved about how good the BBQ was...Food was packaged nicely and was hot when we started serving. Dan and his crew are top-=notch!

Pulled pork was dried out and under cooked the ribs were overly chewy and undercooked very bland taste. The staff was awful. You should not be served bbq by someone wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt very unfriendly. Also ribs should not be cut out of plastic. The worst bbq option in this area by far

I have been in many bbq restaurants and shacks, and this is by far one of my favorite places to visit

Had the 2 meats 2 sides, platter with brisket and burnt ends. Potato salad and beans for the sides . Burnt ends and brisket were ok. Sauces are ok. Beans were interesting but not what I expect in a BBQ joint Just doesn't seem right not having some meat in BBQ beans. My son got ribs and fries and he wouldn't eat his fries. He can be picky, but yeah they were bad I had one of my son's ribs he wasn't going to eat and it was ok. My wife got a 2 meat sandwich with fries All said it would potentially be best BBQ joint in town in some other area but here in the KC area it rates as could be best one close to your house. For the 3 of us it was $46 bucks and the portions seemed small for the cost. I left feeling hungry still.

Name of the place being the rub I expected some better flavor on the meat, this overall was a disappointing experience.

I would rather spend the money it cost to eat tonight and smoked my own brisket, ribs at home.

To sum it up many many better places in KC metro for BBQ , and at better values. I expect to have good portions, and BBQ that exceeds what I can do at home for what they charged Didn't get it.

Just took a class there last night on brisket and learned a lot! I highly recommend their classes and food!

It's a Chipotle style BBQ place. The food was okay. It didn't stand out as amazing. Just run off the mill fast food BBQ.

We used the Rub BBQ for our Wedding Reception Caterer. The food was amazing! I have continued to receive compliments on the food and our wedding was last October. The Rub was recommended to me by a friend that had used them for their wedding. We called and were able to set up a tasting right away. The manager at The Rub invited us to bring my parents along with us to the tasting which I thought was very nice. We walked in and sat down and they literally took care of everything for us. We were able to try everything on the menu (so MUCH food) which allowed us to make an educated decision on which meats and sides we wanted. Everything was perfect the day of our wedding. They were very accommodating to my every need/want and did not try to nickle and dime me for every request I made. We did buffet style, but paid a little extra to have servers to help bus tables and keep drinks full. It worked out great. The servers even cut and served the cake without being asked to. The Rub BBQ went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of! Thank you to Dan, Mike, & everyone at the Rub who helped us so much!

Hate to say it, but I have no idea how this place stays open. The burnt ends are fatty and the fries are soggy.

This place have in my opinion the best bbq around. Everything always tastes amazing.
