Rooms could do with a refurb, it s a little out dated. Customer service was good though, But parking can be a issue.

Lovely place to stop, would have been 5 stars, but the breakfast was over priced and not cooked well.
The room was nice apart from a wet paint sign where they had painted around the door - a bit strange when the room is booked. Checking in took 70 minutes (yes 70) not helped by 1 member of staff trying to book in workmen trying to pay with credit cards not in their name. The guy in the food bar was very courteous and the food was good.
Nice cozy hotel, wiser attentive staff, prices and ok food
Xmas party nite, small dance floor, some miserable looking staff.
This place was poor cos on the first night we go to get food for dinner Bering in mind they was just opened we ordered they didn t have any pizza and my lass and my mates lass are fussy eaters so there was nothing else they liked so we More
We had our wedding reception at the hotel recently. Where we had a number of problems. the red welcome carpet was too long and rolled under at one side, which caused several guests to fall. I had requested that our wedding cake was cut up and put into the food room for guests. The staff took it upon themselves to throw over half of my cake in the bin at the end of the night and not save it like i had requested. A glass cake stand was used and lost. The stand was my great grandmothers. The staff never cleaned any tables all night resulting in a number of my wedding guest complaining to bar staff that there was no room for them to put their drinks, in which the responce was we dont have enough staff to clean any plates away. Staff also instructed my DJ that he needed to finish a hour earlier then agreed. After writing an email to Express my upset over these matters all I got from the manager was a sorry. sorry is no means of compensation for the tarnished memories of our day or satisfactory considering the amount money we paid them. future brides be wary
Attended a Christmas Party. Facilities were good, clean and staff were very polite.
Rooms basic but clean enough.
Was told breakfast started at 7am, but when 10-15 people arrived at 7, only half of the hot buffet was ready and there was no milk to be found. Staff member let on that they thought breakfast was from 715. Poor choice of fresh non cooked items such as fruit and hot drinks were pre-made and waiting in flasks.
Needs decor, colleagues had food on their room carpets. Restaurant is very basic and staff weren't exactly thrilled to help. Found fire doors propped open too which was concerning.
Needs a good clean .wheelchair/push chair access a massive problem . There is no lift or ramps
Stayed here in an emergency and was treated to one of the worst stays I've ever had in a hotel.
The room was dirty (especially the bath room) there was a burn on the carpet from the iron and the "non smoking" room smelled of stale cigarette smoke.
The walk from reception to the room was a treat for the nose in itself. Some of the most strange food type smells I've ever encountered greeted me as I walked the corridors., seemingly a different one for each corridor!
Worst of all for me was the very strong smell of cannabis smoke coming through the window of the room above. Very evident on the car park when I went to get something from my vehicle.
Food was nice, what you got, veg came out after finished meat and the 3 potatoes. Ran out of food for christmas party dinner.
Came here for a birthday party. I was slightly sceptical that a hotel called quality would be any thing but! However I was pleasantly surprised. What seriously let the place down was the cleanliness of the toilets. Both the gents and disabled toilets were filthy. I asked my wife about the female toilets and she said they were filthy too. Please clean your toilets and surrounding areas, you may then be worthy of using the word quality in your name! Till then patrons stay away!
The cleaning staff deserve another two stars because they have lousy facilities and a outdated, outmoded environment with unsupported working conditions. Management back at head office need to wake up to their local competition,Village/ Premier Inn on their doorstep. They need to do some serious refurbishment work in all the rooms, dining area and reception. At the very least get cleaning staff trolleys, steam machines for all the flooring and schedule regular door handle wiping !!. Location is convenient opposite a 24 HR Tesco, Dudley Castle and only 8 miles from Cadburys world. Breakfast staff mostly very helpful but l imagine painfully aware of poor decor. . However on the Sunday l asked for a boiled egg and was told at 9.30( half-hour before breakfast finish time) that they would have to ask the 'chef'. Well goodness knows where they were having a snooze, ciggie or ?! They were missing ' in action' for forty minutes - in which time l had eaten cereal, toasted several sets of bread, had tea and tidied my table. These are not chefs. They are short order cooks, short of cooks. Can't complain ultimately as this was part of a superbreaks bargain break and as such great value with its free entry into Cadburys World. The hotel can't continue to rely on co promotions to survive. It needs to wise up and chase the money from repeat custom. Refurbish or slide into the annals of Black country museum history. NB watch out for hot taps in bathrooms working in reverse. They can be scalding. !!
If you want your van to get robbed stay here.
Very dated and empty.
Food was good though
The hotel is simple and in need of some renovations, but I think this was reflected in the price. Our room was functional and clean. Staff seemed over worked, but were polite. Overall you get what you pay for.
Average food in these places sprit is always high price
Clean bedroom, cheerful staff and a really lovely buffet/English breakfast. Excellent value for money.
I lived in the hotel for about 3 months, and the staff were very nice and a helpful and friendly, there was one guy who stood out from the rest, and his name is Jack and I find out that he is leaving, and this hotel is losing a very good head bar man.
Easy to navigate but woken up at early hours by a false fire alarm! TV did not have a good signal either and bathroom facilities were a bit shoddy.
Old property. Rooms was decent sized. We had bad experience with heating not working for entire day. So cold water n cold room. Bad experience. Would recommend to check out of booking in early Dec. Breakfast is very ordinary.! Unless you getting really a cheap deal under 50 quid won't recommend
Worst staff ever. The woman was absolutely rude. Thought I d try this place out having tried many others around but nothing compared to any of them. Only one night staff was nice, I asked him if I could heat food, he said yes it would be fine in the morning as the kitchen is closed at night but reopens at 9am.
The woman refused us. She is the problem here, never met someone so rude.
Disgusting attitude, disgusting phone manner. Will not be returning and for everyone else go to village across the road they re the best around.
Thanks.
Nice staff. Venue is Close to tesco and to town center by bus or car
The service was great with very friendly staff and rapid assistance. The room functional but has a new TV. The cooked breakfast was excellent and it's a pleasant dining area.
Terrible management and staff, booked a room and it was a mess from the previous rooms. Walked in and said hello to the staff 3 times before i recieced a response. Rooms have no heating. Now have the snuffles, told to not smoke out the front by the benches and ashtrays because it gives a bad impression then to see the staff do the same thing the next day. Finished my lunch in reception burped and covered my mouth saying pardon, and a maintenance man tried to tell me how disgusting i am as well as the staff. Im outraged and will go to the village over the road next time.
Was not happy at all with anything we walked in the staff were rude on reception to go to our room which absolutely stunk of cigarettes we walked in look around and went home
Definitely won t be going back
When here for a party very poor room was very basic and needed some /lots of TLC
Staff miserable no good mornings, young chap at breakfast handling bread with no gloves on., Had no idea how to deal with people. Rooms grubby. I was there 2 days and will not be going back. The place has absolutely no charm whatsoever. My advice is give a wide berth.
Cheap enough stay and big dinner hall.. Also close to other amenities but hotel is very dated
Decent place to sleep however walls are thin and sometimes rooms smell of cigarettes and other substances
Absolutely disgusting place, cannot believe how bad it actually was, have these people never even heard of a cloth and hoover?
Would give half a star but I can't, rude, bored looking staff, manager was friendly, asked for a clean sheet and got a huff and puff. Outdated rooms and furniture, dirty carpets. Bar staff looked bored and didn't even know if I could open the exit to have a cigarette while our food was being cooked.
Nice enough rooms but was allocated a triple room the bed i had was not the best it was worn that much that even with my head on a pillow my feet was resting above my head line
Nice place. Waiter that served breakfast needs to learn how to smile
Poor service, problems with obtaining hot water for a shower! Won't be returning.
Easy to get to location within walking distance of attractions like Dudley Zoo and the Black Country Living Museum as well as the town centre. The Merry Hill shopping centre is a short car/taxi ride away taking no more than a quarter hour. More
Went at Christmas for a Christmas party food was nice had a disco which was alright staff friendly went back in January for a free meal it was freezing heating had broke so they put a fan heater by the table booked table for 6 but they said it was busy alnight so had to go in at 7.30 the place was empty so wasn't happy
Went for a wedding reception. Food was dry, quiche was watery, beer selection was poor
I found the bed uncomfortable, and the bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked.
My last stay was OK till I had to leave at short notice, because it is closed. Very unlikely it will reopen as a Hotel. I wish all the staff well as they were the best thing about the place.
Late check in early check out booked a double got twin
Clean but old and tired. Needs an uplift. Wouldn't choose to stay there.
Me and my friends used to have a pint here occasionally when we'd have a pub crawl around Dudley area. Great place for meeting friends and family members for a great night out. Good Selection of beers and wine's, they're also extended the room by adding on a large conservatory to add extra light to an old building. Well worth a visit when you are in the area. This place is better known as the Ward Arm's.
Nice place... Very historical building in some parts of it.
Clean basic hotel lovely staff especially young man serving breakfast,.
Ok venue with decent parking and access. Could just use a freshening up
Nice place for quick break. Breakfast very nice too
As always, the meal and service was excellent. Could not wish for better. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Naff, expensive and out of touch.
We stayed here for a wedding, someone else booked the room for us. The hotel is time-locked in the 80's, nothing seems to have been updated since then, including the WiFi.
I could stay in some much more modern budget hotels, get breakfast included and have useable WiFi, and it still be cheaper.
Overall, if you want to relive the 80's/you have no other alternative, go here, otherwise find somewhere else.
Attended a wedding reception here. The Staff were great, efficient and professional. The food was delicious, served piping hot and on warm plates. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Not very good was rude staff not helpful with two small babies
Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Good place as a base or passing through. Didn't try the facilities.
Well kept hotel with warm and friendly staff, the hotel is nicely located a short drive from the M5 motorway (junction 2) and within walking distance of Dudley town centre, Dudley Zoo and the Black Country Museum. There is a shopping mall (Merry Hill), not too far from the hotel, taking around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic to get there. Offering a variety of services in addition to the hotel, there are function and meeting rooms as well as suites and a restaurant open to all. The restaurant has a nice open and well lit conservatory and offers Sunday lunch including a carvery. There is ample space for parking outside the main reception area as well as a side road should the car park overflow. The only downside to the hotel is that it is directly off a dual carriageway which means coming off the hotel car park, you can only turn left. However, it is only a short drive to a roundabout (less than a half minute) where you can turn round and come back on yourself to get back to the motorway All in all though, the hotel is well looked after, has polite and friendly staff, is in a nice location, has good parking facilities, is in easy reach of the town and places to visit and not as expensive as some other local hotels
