Cool hotel, but where's the hospitality? Everyone in here was too concerned with looking cool
Comfortable modern and hip. It can feel like you're entering a night club. The crowd is very young especially at the weekend. The rooms are nice modern and the shower has an interesting blurred see through which allows your partner to watch without watching. Overall a good experience.
Went to the bar with coworkers. Didn't have drinks, but the area was very nice and clean. The seating was comfortable
I saw the roof deck and a few other parts of the hotel. From what I saw, it's official.
I don't know what happen but me and my wife had problem with credit cards , long story short : I had to pay but I paid twice or something like! i've 2 entry from that hotel in my bill, one in euro and one in dollars , the euro was refunded but is still locked on my credit card( and I've reached the top of my outcome for the month ) , now I'm doing a cost to cost with no credit card !
The place is fantastic from the moment you enter. The electric stairs with the light makes a beautiful decoration that I will always remember. The workers were very kind. But what I loved the most was the room and the view of the city. Everything looks modern and the bed is large and very comfortable. I recommend the place to everyone.
Great service, decent size rooms for NYC, new and clean
A hidden treasures. I am amazed at the service we received far better than " the president places". Young vibrant eclectic are my adjectives. Although the price is on the lower end, the service is beyond the 5 stars we have stayed at recently.
It's great in lounge areas. Rooms are not good. Bathrooms very tiny
Bought bottle service. Went downstairs to use the bathroom since the line upstairs was too long and they wouldn't let me back up even tho I had a stamp on my hand. They said my stamp was fake even tho the elevator attendant told me I could come back upstairs.
Fancy joint. I spent most of the time in the conference rooms which have great views.
Modern hotel but very small. They do not have room service. They did not take the trouble to carry the suitcases to the room, one has to go down to look for them personally.
High price compared to the service they provide.
They do not accept payment in cash (it is not clear at any time).
Regular location, 5 blocks from broadway street. But few points of interest nearby.
smalls room, was given a different room than booked and when asked about it, was told to get another hotel if I was no happy... never again
Really struggled with this hotel and had a real love-hate experience. A couple issues with fire alarms going off in the middle of the night and the focus seemed to be much more towards being a night time destination for food and partying than a hotel and some of the staff really needed some customer service training. The saving grace was that a couple the managers and staff were AMAZING and really went out of their way to improve our time there and we ended up having a really lovely second half of our stay.
I have never written a review for a hotel before...but I had to for this one. We LOVED it. We came to New York for Thanksgiving weekend to see the parade and sight see but we honestly wanted to get back to our hotel ASAP every day. It may sound crazy, but the smell as soon as you walk in is incredible. (PS. They sell the scent in their gift shop if you love it as well). The rooms are small but aren't all standard rooms in NYC? Still better than anywhere I've stayed on my 6 previous trips to the city. I will stay here every time I come to the city. The location is great. Just north of Chinatown for great sushi and asian cuisine!
Just wanted to share an exceptional customer service experience. GM Almaaz was kind enough to make an exception to let us dine for breakfast after the cutoff for when they allowed seating. The food and service was amazing. 5 stars!
Absolutely amazing view of the city ... Must check out
Great ambience, beautiful views of the city, dj played good music all night
Great modern hotel with forward thinking philosophy... loved it!
Very nice architecture and interior design. However, it lacked as a hotel. Service was below my standards and the stay was very over priced. You can find a far better hotels in NY with the similar price.
Lovely bar and impeccable hospitality! The view from the top is amazing and I m told it s infinitely nicer in the summer.
The woman at reception downstairs was lovely and helpful and everyone up at the bar was equally warm and accommodating. It feels like the kind of place that might be cold and too cool for its own good but it wasn t at all.
Excellent cocktails, can t wait to go back!
Roof was a very nice view, but the clear vinyl paneling on the temporarily enclosed area was no match for the winds during the new years cold snap, which forced cold air through the cracks and totally overwhelmed the heaters
Definitely one of my favorite rooftop in new York City, as a French I value taste in cocktails but Also in decoration and harmony so let me du that this place is absolutely ticking all those boxes. However the bouncer is lam but that's the charme.
Trendy "instagrammable" spot with surprisingly good views
Great view of the rooftop. I went with a girlfriend for a drink around 19h (we were in sneakers)
Chic and modern, trendy and accommodating. beautiful design and decor in small spaces.. multiple bars, sitting/working/meeting spaces, avail food and drink options as well. Great location
How this place is always buzzi g is beyond me. Just a great place to stop off for an afternoon drink.
A tad pretentious, strong drinks and pleasant views.
The hotel is nice. Very modern and trendy, maybe to a fault. The room is small but nice. Very comfortable bed. The shower doesn't get very hot. Good location easy to get to and close to everything.
A mix or travelers, business people, revelers, and explorers, the public hotel provides an ever changing scene encapsulated in chic, clean but warm decor. Multiple secluded locations for different experiences. Charging spots and tables for laptops in semi-public spaces. Watering holes and gracious experts are always near to serve.
Nice and cozy place to stay. Staff are a ever helpful and a fun bunch. Definitely will recommend it to friend looking for a place to stay in NY.
Amazing hotel. The aesthetic is everything there. The iconic escalators are fun!!! Bartender named Ricky was fantastic in lobby bar.
Great place. Very vibrant the staff were pleasant. I will be definitely be coming back.
The room was great l, the price was right and the staff were warm and inviting
New hotel with rude people, trying to be unique and selective list to get in! STAY A WAY..... Gansevoort Hotel Are 10 times better and cooler!!!
Great value for the price. Very modern and very clean
This has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in NYC. The air in the room is terrible. The customer service to check in is terrible. Random people are wondering the hotel and there is no one to manage these people. Worst hotel ever
Customer experience as hotel guest is VERY deceptive! you pay for "great view" but get a room with normal city view- get constantly denied access to rooftop (not seen the view after staying already two nights!!)-super noisy till 2 am. Incredible how they turn happy people in angry guests- lots of guests complaining to a level I have never seen before!
Beautiful sexy design displayed throughout the entire facility. I made a quick trip for a coffee and enjoyed the space near the coffee shop. Their market is super dope as well. Google me for more @ChloGotFlo.
It's a bit expensive for a no frills hotel but the restaurant and nightlife areas are certain to be hits in NYC. If you want a nice comfortable stay with all the amenities, maybe not the place for you. If you want to be in the center of it all, go for it. There's no irons and ironing boards in the individual rooms which is a bit of a deal breaker for me
Do not go here! The staff are rude and very condensing. This place is style (to a degree) and no substance. Their service is utterly horrendous. I believe they write fake reviews to push down the bad ones.
We have also noticed money coming out of our account going to Public since leaving. We have contacted them several times and got absolutely no where. There are much better places you can find for your budget. We upgraded our room and the view was average. It is not worth the money and is full of very pretentious and insincere staff.
Very nice service, beautiful rooms and fairly priced.
I went to PUBLIC to see Tender play live. The venue was amazing and the atmosphere was even more breathe taking. Very cool place
Cuz they have free pool tables in the lounge area. So if you're walking around Manhattan at night. This place may be a good place to stop in between going from bar to bar in Lower East Side
Fantastic hotel, of 5* quality, great lounge and open spaces on lower levels. The rooms are compact but very well designed, combination of wood and concrete, large tv and great sound from b&o speakers. Comfortable bed and nice walk in shower. Staff very helpful and the restaurant at the restaurant has amazing food.
Brand new building in the lower East side and very stylish and modern. The downstairs space is a performance space and also a club late night. The bar on the roof has spectacular views in all directions. Empire State Building, One World Trade and everything in between from an angle you've never seen before...
They charge an amenity fee and force you to eat dinner at the restaurant.
The thermostat is also impossible to change and beyond frustrating as the room is constantly too warm
Public Kitchen has to be one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It still feel exclusive and cool!
I knew nothing of this place when we booked and was quite taken with the design, which is modern and just so. Highlights include a Diego Rivera mural reproduction in the main bar, triply neon light fun mirrors and a rooftop bar with floor to ceiling windows, unisex bathroom, and almost 360 view of the city. This place is hip in a good sense. The queen room was small but used the space in such a smart way that it was a pleasure to stay in. This hotel has a lot of little touches and it s fun. I could see partying here on a Friday night being really fun.
Best hotel ever! I love the smell in the hotel and the relaxing lights decorations! The room is very comfortable and the rooftop bar view was amazing! Highly recommend!
Small but nice room with quality amenities -- comfy mattress, Samsung TV, and free bottled water. The room did have a bit of a funky smell when we checked in, but it dissipated with time. Lovely large windows with a nice view!
A beautiful hotel, with a lovely staff. Definitely instagramable!
Low Key cool kids spot. You can always find an event or the start to a good night in the town here.
The hotel is pretty cool but I had food at the restaurant and it was very good including the desserts I have pictured.
No front desk, which was interesting. Check in on the iPads to the left of the top of the escalator. Rooms were ultra modern but comfortable. Very trendy.
The hotel design was great... interesting architecture and fun to look at. I found the check in process easy enough but unwelcoming, with an ipad sign in. The rooftop bar has killer views, but was so packed at 6pm that we didnt hang there. If you stay here ask to stay in the middle floors of the hotel, we got stuck on the third floor and it was pretty miserable. The room was fine, but the view was just into somebody's apartment. The Bose speaker had already been removed/stolen, which would have come in handy when trying to fall asleep to the very loud base that vibrated our room until 4am from the basement club and the bar. That was pretty miserable. Would not go back here without knowledge of the floor we would be staying on.
Bummed visitor.
This hotel oozes modernity and sophistication. The lobby is one of the nicest in New York City, and the rooftop is a must visit. Can only say good things about this hotel.
Really nice event space but the directions for the roof are a little convoluted.
Small bed, with few wardrobes to keep the clothes. The heat pump makes noise. They did not make the room every day.
Went here for an event, great atmosphere staff was super attentive.
