PP Erawan Palms Resort Review

Beautiful and clean Beach and with mostly clean water but still some plastic trash is floating in the water. Because of the trash problem with most of the beaches all over Thailand I would actually rate this Beach only three stars. But beside many other Beaches in Thailand is this one cared about and properly cleaned and tourist crowds that visit are kept small to give nature a chance to rehabilitate. Hope Thailand will manage some day to reverse the damage we tourists have done to there beaches by letting us come in hordes for the money. If they manage to take consequent responsibility I will gladly score a 5 star rating. Hope this beach gets there!

Wonderful place. The perfect place for relaxing. Pool is lovely and they have great breakfast.

A very beautiful island. Unfortunately, too many too large new hotels and resorts are being built. As a result, the peace, authenticity and seclusion that I was able to experience 20 years ago is over.
More and more tourists cause more and more garbage that has to be laboriously removed from the island or simply disposed of on the back of the hotel complex in the beautiful nature.
This is how a paradise is destroyed!
And if the tourists are too lazy to walk the 500 meters from the jetty to the hotel, then they are carted past the other guests on the golden beach with a creaking and smelly tractor. So much shortsightedness of the residents is just unfortunate.
The complex itself is on the whole well-kept and in order. The rooms will have different facilities for each category. Our room was clean and tidy and if something didn't work, there was a quick remedy.
The staff is friendly even if we have already experienced different things in Asia. There is still room for improvement. ;-)
Unfortunately, the Thai cuisine offered in the restaurant did not convince us. Our favorite restaurant in Berlin has already delighted our palates.

Heerlijk hotel. zeer vriendelijk personeel, zowel aan de receptie, restaurant als het gehele resort. Je kunt gemakkelijk een longtail boot huren, zelfs een kwartier van te voren. Nabij Bamboe eiland is prachtig te snorkelen. Eten kun je bij het resort en links en rechts van het resort.

We arrived a pp erawan after 5 nights in Kata. The location is absolutely stunning. The beach is beautiful and the waters are clear. We stayed for 4 nights and it was relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Kata.

Our room was nice and inline with a 3 star hotel although our air-conditioner did not work correctly, we had to rig the room switch and left it running the whole stay to keep the room cooler than outside!!! TV only had 2 working channels and our first night we pulled the covers back and we had ants in our bed !!!

Daily breakfast was great with a wide selection of dishes and a new menu daily. Staff were pleasent and helpful. We ate at the restaurant for one dinner and had the diavola pizza which was disappointing as it had a single piece of pepperoni quartered on the entire pizza. Happy our at the solo bar was great and the cocktails delicious.

A few tips if you are planning a visit.

1. Bring baht!

There are no ATM's on this part of the island. Erawan will exchange only US dollar and Euro at reception, with very low exchange rates. Reception will act as a ATM but charges 10 % on the amount.
Holiday inn down the beach will exchange currency but take your passport for this, rates are also not the best.

2. Bring sunscreen and lots of it !!

Sunscreen is available at reception and the local shop but a small bottle (100ml) is very expensive. You will need lots of sunscreen.

3. Bring bug spray and mosquito repellant.

Mosquitoes are savage at night and you will need lots of repellent. Repellent is available at reception , but once again is very expensive. Bug spray is great to use in the room on your way out to dinner.

4. Try Mama Pings.

Mama Pings seafood restaurant is just down the beach. Absolutely amazing Thai and seafood. Fruit shakes are delicious and beers are ice cold .

All in all we enjoyed our stay, the location is paradise and just amazing.

I was there a few years ago so the review refers to that period, I hope it has improved today. At the time it was painful, from all points of view. At the limit of impracticability.

Beautiful structure. Staff very helpful and prepared. Excellent location, beachfront but accessible only by sea. Along the beach there are several places to eat and several long tail boats with which to move during the day. Expensive to move in the evening, only with private taxis. Good western and asian breakfast on request.

We stayed in a standard room with a garden view. Staff is so friendly, facilities are AMAZING, and there are a few restaurants to choose from which suits your pocket. This resort's location is personally the BEST on Phi Phi Island, perfect for honeymooners. We really enjoyed our stay.

A heavenly place! The beach is unique, and few people since that side of the island there are few hotels. The staff needs to speak a little more English.

It was okay enough, for Thailand standards it's great and far enough from the main tourist areas. Get yourself a long boat driver and head out early 6am to see the sights.
The basic room was good enough to sleep in and you get good enough service, breakfast wasn't the best standards and I would have appreciated things more traditional. The restaurant is overpriced, I suggest trying the local restaurants a few blocks down.

The place is beautiful, right on the sea and surrounded by nature. The resort is very nice, they pay a lot of attention to cleanliness, always clean rooms, really nice and helpful staff. I highly recommend considering my wonderful experience.

Overall just wonderful memories from the privacy and relaxation that you get here !!!

Beautiful beach, friendly staff. The room we had had an amazing view. Not really any hot water for showers but it was so hot outside it didn't matter.

Nice area on a great long sandy beach. Staff is nice and always helpful, also here you can experience the pronounced child friendliness of the Thai people. A handful of bars / restaurants are directly adjacent to the complex and are recommended for evenings. Somewhat annoying we found the tractors of other resorts, the regular drive along the beach and guests transport.

1st Price on real booking. As the dinner does not include and the food here is 2 to 3 times more expensive than anywhere in Thailand.
2. Staff in the restaurant an absolute katastrofe. Not attentive, can not speak English and sometimes very rude.
3rd room are very old.

The only beautiful here is the beach. I recommend to anyone who comes to this beach just to choose the Holiday Inn. We were there 2 to 3 times food and that just looks much better. Also we could look at the rooms there, that are clear differences to recognize. The beach section is also much nicer (distinct difference).

Lovely secluded hotel, expensive to get to but amazing views and very idyllic. Set up trip with Andaman wave cruiser as they will drop you off here, otherwise you will have to take expensive longtail.

Friendly staff, impeccable room and cleanliness, good varied and plentiful breakfast. Seafront in a great location ... a paradise !!!

This resort was very pretty but nearly impossible to get to and from. Only stay here if you want to spend more in transportation than the expensive room. It cost 1200 baht each way for a long tail and when the tide is low it s a good walk through ankle deep water on the main beach to get anywhere. When you get to the dock near the hotel you have to jump up on some stairs to get onto the pier. Then you have to hike to the resort. This would be impossible for anyone elderly or disabled to stay at. The rooms are ok. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors but there is ac. Meals were expensive and not great. The staff was kind!

The resort is a calm peaceful place far away from hustle and bustle of city, completely engrossed in nature. The beach near the resort is a beautiful one with silver sands and clear water. Sea adjoining resort hosts lots of corals and sealife. The sea isn't deep so good for children too and for snorkeling. Although kayaking didn't have much option and the resort doesn't allow you to travel further with the kayak, but a boat ride to nearby island is worth taking and didn't cost much. Resort sports a beach restaurant with candle light dinner arrangement and live music. There are no roadways from this resort though. One will have to take a boat to explore surrounding or to go to Toonsai Pier which is centre of all activites. Resort staff was very hospitable and friendly.

The beach is definitely very nice, worth seeing and not crowded.

It is very quiet on this beach. There are only 3-4 different hotel facilities and a small shop in which you can buy little things. However, these are truly usurious compared to the prices in the city center. WLAN does not work in the room unfortunately.

But you can do very nice snorkeling trips with a boat.

Good and clean. Good aircon. Friendly staff. Very dood fishing aroud.

Loved it. Those who complain must rather stay at home!

A wonderful place to relax, snorkel and discover the breathtaking underwater world. Wonderful sandy beaches.

A great hotel with a pool with bar service right on the beach. The trail out the back leads to some great shoreline hiking along some very large rocks. If you are daring you can make it south to Loh lana bay. Low tide is a bit depressing as the sea retreats a good hundred yards out. Interesting tractor ride from the ferry through the sea urchin infested coral to the hotel. Food was good at the resort restaurant, dining on the beach, but there is also a restaurant (more local) right next to the resort. I would recommend it.

We stayed in this resort in February, excellent housekeeping, the resort needs some updating, the fixtures and doors of the public toilets were a bit ruined, but the bathrooms were spotless, the location was fantastic, the breakfast area very large and on the beach overlooking the sea it was spectacular, excellent breakfast, the restaurants on the beach gave a choice and the massage area in the gazebo overlooking the sea was splendid. The staff very kind and helpful for anything. A place to go back !!

We spent a couple of nights here and had a super time. Pool area and beach are fantastic, breakfast good too.

Nice place, that was it but unfortunately. The service is bad. The Wi-Fi in the room did not work. The breakfast was one-sided and there was not enough choice. This quiet location is exploited mercilessly to the prices by 3 times, for example. for water increase - even in the small shop next to the prices are the same as in the hotel.

Very friendly welcome and family togetherness. The really clean and almost empty beach was the nicest I have ever seen. Rooms are functional but absolutely clean. We will definitely be back.

The breakfast, the beach and the location deserve 5 stars as well as the staff!
There is a 2 star deduction because of the bathroom! The water in the shower drains very badly (the bathroom is always flooded afterwards) and there is mold in the bathroom! An absolute no-go for the price!

We stayed at the P.P. Erawan Palms Resort for 8 nights. The hotel is beautiful, clean and everyone working there is extremely polite and friendly. The location in the quiet part (compared to Tonsai) of Phi Phi Island is perfect to spend the perfect "time out". The hotel beach is amazing and beautiful that it almost seems surreal! We enjoyed every second of our stay and would come back to stay at the Erawan any time!

Taking the ferry from phuket with andaman wavemaster was awesome and so easy. We changed boats after tonsai and we were dropped off at the door of the hotel with a welcoming party on hand to take us through everything. They carried our luggage, washed our feet and provided us Wi-Fi and welcome drinks prior to the orientation began. Rooms are clean and the restaurant food is great. They have daily happy hour on Cocktails and you can hire a cheap long boat off the beach for day trips.

It was a good idea to bring some snacks and necessities along as there isn't a shop here.

I love this hotel and I cannot wait to return as soon as possible.

A very nice facility, very green, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very friendly and very clean. Almost every day new sheets and daily new towels. In the superior room, guests receive a plate of fresh fruit every day. The beach is fantastic and if you go a few meters behind the barrier you come directly to a coral reef for snorkeling. There are even a few meters next to the hotel a supermarket for drinks and snacks.

The staff couldn t do enough to make us feel welcome, the food was delicious and the rooms were lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel and when you walk onto the beach front, you are in paradise:-)

Staff is friendly and reliable. Front desk was always helpfull. Although not fluent in english, only some of the staff can speak it.

There is no better view and experience than eating breakfast by the sea, and the local rooster walking about (and roosting) tops it off

The natives boats and shop are all smiles and friendly.

The coral reefs are really beautiful and full of fish. Hopefully you get clear water. When you snorkle.

We lived in the standard room and it was a bit smelly but when running the air con it was fine.

But seriously stay away. I want this place to my self.

If you do come, don't throw your trash on the beach or in the ocean ( throw trash in the trashcans). Just because you are trash, does not mean you should leave some behind. You should know better!

-Come here if you enjoy the calm atmosphere and beautifully crystal ocean and wants to see birds, fish and lizzards up real close.

-Do not come here to shop there is only one official shop ($$$$)

Enjoy your stay where ever you go

very quiet and clean place, away from the center. It only comes with two daily ferries. Includes swimming pool and private beach which however (in August) closes at 19:00. On the beach you will find many beautiful corals, whereas if you make 100 meter swim you can see, first hand, the reef in all its forms.
Keep in mind, however, that there are no mini-markets or supermarkets nearby. So if you're not going to spend so much eating at the restaurant I suggest you bring something back before you leave!

Plant worth 3 stars. English leaves a lot to be desired for most of them.

I would avoid eating in the in-house restaurant. The service was underground. We ordered extra and expressly not spicy. The first curry was way too spicy and went back. The second was a bit milder, but also not enjoyable. We asked again and the waitress was overwhelmed.

The manager stepped in and made the worst impression of all. We explained our problem to him and he only offered us to take a meal off the bill! Still, we were hungry (and angry).

The hotel itself is a bit old and carelessly cared for. But if you don't look too much left and right it is quite acceptable.

The beach at the hotel is beautiful. You can also snorkel on site.

The complex is at the other end of the island and the hotel is really only suitable for relaxing and escaping from all the people on the island

We were here in Nov 2017.
The hotel can only be reached by longtail boat and there is generally little choice, but we knew that when we made the booking.
Advantage: The beautiful sandy beach is not that crowded and it is one of the few places in Thailand where you can see a lot of fish while snorkeling.

The hotel itself was very nice, the staff very friendly and funny, the rooms were clean and interesting.

Restaurant tip: Chilli & Pepper is very tasty and cheap

We were late not catch the last ferry, they talked to the private long tail boat owner, 1200 B for one way, so they helped us to get ferry for 200 B each person. And they picked us from ferry, no worry of shoes wet. Great location very quiet, a few steps to white beach, and 5 mins back yard to cliff. So we saw sunrise on white beach and sunset at cliff. One more thing, breakfast is western style fruit, bread, scramble eggs, salad et al. combined with one order of thai food. You can enjoy your fresh fruit juice and food at sand beach with full view of beach. We spend 3 nights here. Like it very much.

Facilities are somewhat old, but it was enough for an island resort.
Recently Phi Phi is as crowded as Phuket, but it is very quiet with people who are staying at the hotel playing good with good access, which is located on the north side of the island.
There are adjoining hotel, restaurant, shops, too, you can resort normally.
Room is spacious, air conditioner, shower hot water is enough.
Anyway, this hotel has a site where you can see both Chaoyang and sunset. For access from Phuket, the ferry of "Andaman WeveMaster" from 13:30 can come to Laem Tong Beach with 1 stop without transfer.
You can come by other 2 shuttle boat, or TAXI Boat.

Hotel with a large territory, good breakfast. Located on the coast of Laem Tong, in the morning ebb, in the area of midday begins to ebb. Jellyfish were not small waves. The hotel has a good restaurant. Nearby are several beach cafes.

HELP!!!!!! I was at P.P Erawan for a 6 day vacation. Arrived after a 3 hour ferry ride on a floating dock. The boys of the place had to keep the pier pulled down, otherwise it was impossible to go up (a disabled person with a wheelchair would not have made it). Arrived we notice a pond, we look and it was a pond with drain pipes in plain sight and brown water. Let's go to the reception, they welcome us with a welcome cocktail (really good), they explain how the "resort" works: they don't change money, and if they do you the favor of changing them, they change them for 25, when the change would be at 37 , not there is an ATM. They assign us the room in front of the pond (we had arrived 20 minutes ago and we had already been bitten by 4 mosquitoes): large room with a bench and a chair, that's enough. The glass entrance did not close and in the meantime they devoured the mosquitoes, direct air conditioning on the bed. Closing a thousand eyes on these things I go to the bathroom and the toilet was full of feces (I remember it must have been a clean room ready to welcome new customers). I go to the receptio where there were 2 other people complaining about the hot water not being there and the air conditioning not working.
They come to see our room and shortly after they show up with the suction cup plunger from the 70s but there was nothing to do, they go to the back and put the pipes in place and meanwhile there was an unpleasant smell in the room almost from vomit that came out of the bath. I demand to change room and they put me in the one aside with the same problems, door that doesn't close, mosquitoes come in, same exhaust pipes ... they give a bungalow aside al.lghetto but at least it had a wardrobe and even here the windows did not close and I had to close them with scotch tape.
Really really good food, beautiful beach from 2 pm onwards and the same thing the sea. In the morning it is full of dirt from Thai boats, unfortunately they have no respect for their beautiful sea. In the afternoon it magically cleans itself and is fantastic.

The food is good, but you can (even) eat better and cheaper next door. Unfortunately, the team doesn't manage to bring the food to the table warm in the evening.

In general, everything on Koh Phi Phi is not exactly cheap, with sometimes over 200 THB (approx. 5 ) for half a beer it is almost cheeky expensive!

Plant has potential, but in many places is saved ... Too bad

Chef Mario's meal at the Sawasdee Restaurant is a fabulous experience. The best of the island!

Only came here for a massage so can't speak to the rest of the facilities. Getting setup was quick. The masseurs were attentive and quick. Super cheap for 1 hour foot and then 1 hour body massage for two people! Only paid about 60-70.

This is a great resort with nice rooms, nice views, swimming pool, restaurant and bar.
The staff are friendly and enthusiastic

What a wonderful experience here!

Good service but very far from everything. To get to the center there is a ferry that leaves 200 bht We had a very bad experience when taking the ferry in the morning, since the dock ladder (which belongs to the hotel or at least the hotel staff) was not ready. When trying to get off, I fell and instead of enjoying a tour of the island, I spent my morning in the hospital. In addition, the hotel is not prepared for people with celiac disease (despite the fact that I had been told at the time of booking). Beyond that, the beach is beautiful.

Despite the great location on the paradisiacal Koh Phi Phi, the facilities are very old and the service is poor. For those who do not speak the local language, communication is difficult.

It is great value for the money! Beautiful beach in front of the hotel, welcoming staff although English is not their strength so be patient on that issue.
Also be aware that the hotel is located on one end of the ko phi phi Island and therefore connection to the main town is limited to paying each time around 25 dollars per boat to get the traffic.
It's a good place too relax if you want to stay away from the crowd.

Beautiful beach, you would see Gods beauty, the resort is average price.

I rented a villa and it was very nice, with a terrace. Beautiful beaches. But everything is slowly being built up. And with the long tail boat on the south side more expensive than the ferry.
