Located on a hill, the cathedral immediately attracts attention, as it is the largest and tallest building in the old city. The gable roof is simply huge compared to the size of the cathedral itself. Inside, the decoration is unusual, not very gilded, rather modest, unlike pompous Orthodox cathedrals.

A gorgeous church worth visiting. Remember to take your caps off and respect others by watching your volume and turning off the flash on your camera. Open most of the tourist season, with exceptions especially on weekends.

Beautiful church with beautiful location. Nearby services are also worth a visit. Especially in the summer, a wonderful hiking destination. There is also a car nearby, but arriving through the wooden block creates a sense of time for the excursion.

Well, how to approach this... In comparison to cathedrals in Rome, this pales quite a bit. But in comparison to Nordic cathedrals this is nice and cozy with impressive handcraft (and a surprising unicorn?!?) on a vertical surface. It's also great for warming up in the winter. But what really gets me there is the war memorial (in the yard) and the amount of names of the fallen from such a small town.

Charming Village - delightful cafes & shops but none of the historic buildings, museums or churches are open. The online sites show they are all open but, all were closed/locked....Disappointing if you want more than shopping. Must be wonderful in the summer.

Nice old working temple.

Nice old working temple.
Nice quiet town. Gaidai made the film "For the Matches" here. The central part of the city has preserved its historical appearance - stone pavements, old wooden houses, black and red barns along the river, yachts and bicycles, small shops with souvenirs and other goods that are popular with tourists. These are great places for photo shoots.

One of Porvoo's landmarks,

One of Porvoo's landmarks,
The exterior is painted white and resembles the color of the local house.
The interior has a local character and hangs a boat.
Outside the church is a great place to take pictures.

From the outside it looks quite usual and not catchy, although it is located in a very picturesque place by the river right by the bridge. The interior is amazing - on the one hand it is very concise, and on the other hand every second the look clings to some new interesting detail

Traditions in the air from the 13th to the 13th century for the oldest parts. In summer, the environment at its best, in winter, the city of Porvoo seems to save a little too much on sanding costs, and the parking lot partly reveals mirror ice.
