Porvoo church community Review

Porvoo has probably the most beautiful Finnish old town with very interesting wooden houses. The cathedral is worth seeing and is on the hill ... definitely worth a visit.

Nice small city! The cathedral stands out on top of the small hill.

This building is beautiful and gives peace and serenity. The votive ship is remarkable next to the organ.

A historical site in Finnish history like the whole of Porvoo

beautiful church. Sadly the roof was destroyed in 2006 due to an arson. One of the main sights in Porvoo.

Originally built in the 13th century, it is now a historic building built in the 15th century, but a black history whose roof was burned down in 2006. The Porvo Declaration of Russian Emperor Alexander I was at this cathedral.

Definitely a must see. Beautiful, soothing, from the 15th century.

The Catholic church in Porvoo rises above the town on the hill. For a Catholic church held relatively simple, there is a gallery in the nave, as well as the pulpit on the left side of the altar. On the right there is a copy of da Vinci's Last Supper, and from the ceiling hangs the obligatory votive ship.

The cathedral dominates the town. Burned down in 2006, it has been completely restored. Imposing very special building. We were unable to enter because a wedding began on our arrival and we left too early. Pleasant very old village, besieged by tourists.

Stunning and festive church. The wonderful tar smell floated from the well-maintained roofs. Only the scaffolding slightly disturbed the enjoyment. Of course understandable, without them it would be difficult to carry out maintenance work.
