Excellent porchetta sandwich, high prices for a sandwich place. The house special is excellent.
Excellent porchetta sandwich, high prices for a sandwich place. The house special is excellent.
Got the porchetta original sandwich without the truffle sauce - first bite got some fatty bit, which was great and second bite got some crackling, but the rest of the meat wasn't as succulent and flavourful as I had hoped. However, I asked which chicken sandwich they would recommend for a guest and the person who took the order suggested the Nashville...that fried chicken was so good. It looked very deep fried and it was so crispy and tangy with a bit of spice on 2 slices of white bread.
Amazing food, late lunch was not packed when I went
This is one of the best places in Toronto to get an amazing chicken sandwich. The specials are always changing so you never get bored of the menu. The poutine has delicious salty and crispy pieces of porchetta with a gravy that has a bit of tang to compliment those salty morsels. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Try this place, you will not be disappointed!
The chicken was really thin and dry. Not enough lettuce either
I've had Porchetta sandwiches made with Porchetta (and cracking), the bun and the dripping, that's it. Ordered the sandwich. It had mustard and hot sauce? That completely eliminates the delicate taste of the slow roasted Porchetta. Had also ordered 1/2 lb of Porchetta which wasn't very tasty. Was a bit too mild for me unlike other places I've visited. Also, didn't find the quantity good enough for the price.
I have never written a review. But this sandwich...damnnnnnnnnn. The bread they use, in and of itself is a revelation sent from the God's to set man free from the shackles of poor taste. The meat was very tender, and juicy with the crackling sprinkled on top, surprising my taste bud's with crunchy fatty goodness. This beats the stuff you get at 11pm at an Italian wedding.
Had an amazing lunch. Quick, Brilliant, delicious. Offered something new and reinvigorating. And I'm not a porchetta enthusiast at all.
Delicious sandwiches, friendly and helpful staff, awesome flavour combinations. When in doubt, always go for the House Special!
Sandwiches are so tasty. The House special is the best.
Great sandwiches; a little pricy but it is downtown. I needed two myself. But you can t go wrong with any of their sandwiches.
Portions are pretty small and the music was very loud and kind of annoying.
Not a very long wait for lunch. Generous portion. I forgot to order a side...next time!
The porchetta house sandwich is delicious. You can really taste the unique flavour of the crackling. The Nashville sandwich is also amazing. It has a dry heat with a hint of sweetness. This place is too good to only order one sandwich... don't waste your appetite on the sides. Only issue is the accessibility with no cars on king, but that's not a good reason, not to come here.
Best porchetta in city, plus their fried chicken specials are always on point. I usually get the house special with rapini...adds a little something extra to an already delicious sandwich.
Generally a pretty good sandwich but it is pretty small so you are definitely going to want a side! With that said any of the non greasy sides are too expensive for what they are.
The plate is amazingly good. The porchetta could be crispier though...great flavours though
The house special is absolutely delicious! Porchetta, pork crackling, truffle sauce, hot sauce, and mustard on a delicious bun. If you don't want the porchetta, the fried chicken sandwiches are also delicious!
The staff is nice, and the service is quick, which makes it good for take out and eat in.
Edit: 2 years later, and I'm back in Toronto. I've spent 2 years waiting for this sandwich, and it is still absolutely spectacular!
Years ago, Anthony Bourdain filmed an episode of a previous show of his called "The Layover" here in Toronto, and Porchetta & Co happened to be among the locations he chose to visit in this city of our's.
Glad I stopped in for a sandwich.
Mr.Bourdain, you knew great tasting food!
Was overpriced relative to the size of the portion, I was still hungry when I left.
I love this place, great chicken sandwiches and friendly staff.
The fried chicken was just unbelievable. I can't get over how delicious the sauce tasted! Great service by awesome staff. Definitely gonna try the Porchetta next time. Highly recommend!
Was able to try the house special and the fried chicken sandwich. Wish i tasted more of the crackling for the special but the pork was really tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the serving since there was fat mixed in there. The fried chicken sandwich was just as good with the crispy exterior. Breads used were also great.
Took the house special sandwich and kale salad on the side. Too much sauce on the salad, meat in sandwich was great but bread was too dry.
Good service. Great place for a quick bite and beer.
Delicious crispy chicken. This is an awesome place to stop for a quick meal or grab takeout. They have a small amount of seating so I wouldn't recommend for a large group if you want to sit down and eat.
I eat lunch here at least once or twice a week. The porchetta is incredible, and their fried chicken sandwiches are just as good. They have special fried chicken sandwiches every week which are usually amazing and usually give me excuse to eat there even more
Great sandwich. Love the fact the menu only has a few items. Fries... were a disappointment.
It's a good sandwich place in an area that lacks thst type of fare. Tasty enough porchetta, but a bit skimpy feeling more corporate portion controlled than expected. The cashier didn't really seem interested in helping or our order, as we waited about 5 minutes for her to look up from assembling a bag of fries. If the service was more friendly it would certainly elevate otherwise good food.
This place is a must. Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches around too! Skip the coleslaw though and opt for the fries with cheese sauce!
Didn't like the sauces they used on their signature sandwich. A little too mustardy but if you like mustard, you're probably gonna enjoy it.
Tried the og chicken and parmesan chicken both amazing sandwiches which tasted fresh and melt in your mouth paired with supreme fries
All of the magic of the original, except on King Street!
Delicious but nothing special really. Worth a try though!
Love this place,, been going since they were only a small store.
Fantastic porchetta, great crispy bun,
The servers were really nice. They weren't stuffy and trying to be something that they're not.
The food was unreal! I don't usually like plain potato fries, but these fries were super tasty. And the bread was perfectly crunchy and soft. The arancini was also perfectly soft and gooey yet crunchy. I'm going to have dreams about porchetta.
Fantastic list of sandwiches. Though I've only tried the porketta with rappini. Great drinks to go with, too. Definitely going to go back and try some more!
come here on almost a weekly basis for the last year or so, never fails.
No help from the workers for 5 minutes. They just chatting. Unbelievable
Amazing sandwiches! Great place to grab a quick meal.
I love it!
I, personally do not like mustard so I get it without. But everything about it - the toasted, crunchy but soft bun is good, the pork is good, the sauces and truffle is balanced perfectly balanced. I hate when sandwiches are too sauced because it drips everywhere and slimy but this is the right amount of sauce. And every once in a while, you get a bite with the crispy pork skin, it's such a pleasant surprise of taste! I highly recommended
Food was VERY disappointing for the price. They also sold customers water bottles instead of giving water in a cup or glass bad for the environment, and bad for your wallet.
Great place, great sandwich, great price, super fast service. It's a bit small and awkward to wait in the nega-line after ordering, but you certainly don't have to wait long! You can peep through the glass and watch them work with the meat, and you can see they actually weigh your portion so that you're getting a consistent experience. The staff is on point. The menu is focused.
great sandwiches, follow them on instagram to see the crazy specials they have! spaghetti grilled cheese sandwich was delicious
Surprisingly good chicken sandwich. I know. Not what you would normally order at a pork place but I think it's worth a try if you haven't had their chicken sandwich.
It can be really really good but then meh. Last time the sandwich had very large pieces of fat and very little meat (like 20% not edible). Several other times the sandwich actually rocks. Just not consistent. Fries are good but not as good as the neighborhood has to offer (One that good away, Kraft burger, Wurst are all much better). The coleslaw is good sometime, a dripping watery mess other days.
Porchetta and rapini was perfect. Friendly service as well.
Simply outstanding. One of the best pork sandwiches I've ever had.
Good portions, good value for money. Staff was decently friendly. Cute place, intimately decorated. A lot of flies, no A/C. Porchetta pretty good but not typically my kind of meal. I thought the portions were a good size but my friend couldn't even finish half her sandwich. I scarfed mine down. Felt a bit gross afterwards though.
Service was excellent, it's a small
Place but they do have some seating. The sandwiches were good however I felt the chicken was too fried for the piri piri chicken sandwich. The sauces were great. They also bake fresh cookies if you order it (it takes around 10 minutes) they cookies are amazing and the cheese fries are good.
Amazing.very very good . great customer sevice and big helpings of pork and crispy crackling! Must try the poutine..its soo delish
Great food. The buns are amazing. If you love porc you will love this place.
While I prefer the original location, nothing beats that house special sandwich. Delicious!
My go to sandwich spot whenever I m near Spadina and King.
I usually get the house special, but I m also not afraid to dabble with their feature sandwiches too... which are honestly what makes this place stand out.
Their sandwiches are pretty consistent across all of their locations.
Flavor is great, and everything complements each other so well.
Prices are reasonable, but many people will argue you can get a much larger sandwich at a different spot... but I would counter argue that the taste just isn t the same.
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, considering they just hand you your food over the counter.
A little bit on the more expensive side, but the pork was tender and juicy.
I drove 55kms to have the fried chicken sandwich... again
I honestly cannot get the food at this restaurant out of my head.
We had the house special porchetta good truffle and mustard flavour with cracklings and great bun. Also tried weekly special chicken sandwich with bacon, bbq sauce and Mac n cheese. Would have liked more bbq and bacon flavour, but good.
Porchetta is awesome. And strangely, the OG fried chicken even better, the Nashville fried chicken better still. Not cheap, but priced right for the quality. Very delicious.
Tasty sandwich
Mustard and hot sauce are overpowering
This place makes amazing fried chicken sandwiches. The porchetta is great too, but the star of the show has to be the chicken.
It starts off with what many places overlook when making a sandwich - the bread. This bread is incredible, and probably unlike anything you've tasted before. It has an excellent crunch and tastes delicious. All that is coupled with an amazing fried chicken fillet and awesome toppings. You take a bite of it and are hit with so many taste sensations and magnificent flavour. It's a really enjoyable sandwich.
They also make different sandwiches on weekends, so you can really try several options for fried chicken if you want more than the slaw and hot sauce. I keep going back to try them all.
The fries are also great here too. Rapini is on point. They have lots of good accompaniments to tag-team with the sandwich, making your experience a lasting one.
Okay I'm done praising the sandwich, you need to go try it for yourself.
Delicious sandwiches, loved the mustard and crackling.
Delicious food. Try the OG sandwich: delicious fried chicken on a killer bun with great toppings. Usually a great and quick in and out, too. They're also famous for creative (and artery clogging) daily specials. If you get lucky enough to be there during a Big Mac special day, you'll love it.
Went here for the first time after hearing it was so good. The house sandwich took so long I had to leave and go run errands. Halfway thru the sandwich I found a long strand of brunette hair....sigh. This is brutal and definitely not worth the hype.
Decent sandwich but a bit pricey, especially if you are hungry and buy 2
Best Burger and fries combo
Location is amazing
Typical premium sandwich joint, bit expensive but decent food and service, worth a try
The sandwich of my dreams. All their sandwiches are awesome, but if you could have one last sandwich, it should definitely be the classic porchetta. Tender pork, crispy crackling, delicious sauce, parm, crunchy mustard... what else could you possibly need?? Ever since moving away, I think about it every day. Obsessive? Maybe. Delicious? Definitely!
Best porchetta sandwich ever. Their chicken sandwich is also delicious. Food is quick to come out and usually there's no line.
If I were on death row I d choose the OG chicken sandwich as my last meal.
Great food. Prices are a little steep, but its a local shop and has great quality food.
Love porchetta. The fried chicken bigmac special is my favourite!!
One of the best places in the city. I would trade my children for one of these sandwiches, and I don't even have children. Which honestly.means I will trade your children to be able to eat one of the sandwiches
Got the O.G. Chicken sandwich. If O.G. stands for the street name that I think it does then this really was an original-gangster kind of sandwich. Juicy, crispy, and complemented perfectly with toppings and sauce. You have to try it . When in the area, I'm going for this again.
Pretty good sandwiches, but the poutine had very little meat every time I got them; it was very very salty and the meat was dry and hard. A failed attempt. Another time it was so much salt on the poutine that it tasted bitter. I honestly had to throw it in the garbage because it was not edible. I hate wasting food, especially a delicious poutine, but that is how badly they messed up. I would not recommend their poutine at all. Stay with the sandwiches.
The House Sandwich is to die for. The rest is sort of neither here nor there. I didn't like the kale subsitute Caesar salad. I don't really feel kale has the texture one comes to enjoy or expect from a Caesar salad. The service is average; as expected because the place is always busy. The environment is nice, the lay-out is relaxed and the prices are very reasonable!
