Just for fun, went to Popeyes in New Orleans to see if the chicken was different from back home. Nope, tasted the same, while was still good chicken. This French Quarter store, did it different from the one in my hometown. You line up and tell the chicken server what you want and they will put it on a tray. Then you cashier out and the take it to a separate section where a worker will prepare it for take out if you are having it to go. This location had Cajun seasoning in packets - good but not magical.
Great chicken and friendly staff but boy was it a mess toward the end of the night... Slow and looked disorganized.
Date of visit was 7/3/29. Location was 622 Canal St, New Orleans. : This has to be the absolute worst Popeyes I have ever been to in my life. Discriminated against and made to wait over 20 minutes for a chicken sandwich and coleslaw while the patrons behind me all got their food including the same 2 items I ordered. Twice I asked for a refund and was yelled at and told the other customers were here first. BS. Look at the time stamps on the receipt. Never, ever will I visit this Popeyes or any others for that matter. Shame on the crew and the management of this location.
Shrimp was good but we went expecting something different from the Popeyes in Virginia. It wasn't different which disappointed me.
I like Popeyes on a rare occasion. It's tasty, however not exactly the healthiest choice...Duhhh! You can always count on the staff to be completely unconcerned about whether you get your order on time or just how you ordered it. That's all part of the ambiance, if you don't like it, eat somewhere else then. New Orleans loves our Popeyes yaa heaard.
Chicken wasn't spicy and tadte no different from the one in Chas SC
Spicy fried chicken thats got no spices, and all you can taste is the bucket of oil used to fry that unspiced chicken
"Love me some Popeyes chicken, my daughter and I stop in there all the time when she get off from work. We grab us some hot Popeyes chicken with mash potato, some hot fries, butter milk biscuits, some red beans and rice, and top it off with a delicious hot apple pie and nice cold drink!" What a meal! when u just want to chill out from a hard day of working. "So when you want to take a break from cooking when you get off from work, drop by their restaurant and pick up you some hot Popeyes chicken with some hot fries, delicious hot apple pie, red beans and rice, and a ice cold drink and relax!"What a way to chill out from a hard day of working!"God Bless you and you and families!"Enjoy your day today!
Not as hot (spicy) as I've had here before but "got to love it".
Very good attention, the cashier is very, very kind and funny
Service was terrible; attitudes from the cashier's were none I've ever witnessed in a Popeye's.
You have to carry your food to a separate register to get your order bagged.
I visited this location during my visit and the food was fresh and delicious. It was a very long wait though and I didnt care for having to have my food bagged up in a different location of the place after paying for it. I feel that its very unsanitary and easy for someone to possible knock your food over. Other than that I would definitely come back.
Ordered food through DoorDash to my hotel. No napkins. Requested sauces, those weren t there either. Included a regular cajun rice with a dinner, that was also missing. Was excited to try Popeyes in LA but after the experience, I m disappointed. Wouldn t recommend this location.
Better than Popeyes in texas I feel like. The place seemed aimed at partyers though but still nice to stop for a quick bite.
The food was good. But the bathrooms could have been clean, it was nasty in there. And i watched the guy go in like he cleaned it but he didnt.
Very entertaining staff! Don t expect to get quick service when the Saints are playing as most of the staff are watching the game, but it makes for an interesting experience!
What can I say I love Popeyes. Whether it's a 5 dollar box or a three piece meal it always hits the spot. Fast service and always friendly. They do get busy at times but the line moves fast.
Changed my life. That chicken sandwich. Sauces were all good. I'm white and was treated like a minority in here but the good food was worth it
Very clean! Service was fast but could have been a touch nicer. All in all, good experience. 5 star because it's located right on main Street
Mardi gras night 12:00am the restaurant was packed but everyone in there was sitting down eating together as Americans and the line never made it out the door like some years. Plus the food was hot. I'm from Louisiana and I grew up on popeyes that was the best I ever had!!!
Had the po boy with coleslaw. Food was alright, chicken had bit too much batter for my taste. Ordering was a bit weird placing order with one person while another was chasier but that may just be the way it works here. Customer service ranged from just ok to friendly depending on the person.
The service is not that great. I came here at midnight and waited 30 min in line before placing my order, last time coming here!!!
Hot chicken.but I was expecting it to be different being that it was surppose to be the original new orelans flavor.
Growing up, I always enjoyed Popeyes fried chicken, and while I was in NOLA, I had to try the Popeyes in the city. This location was the busiest Popeyes store I ever visited till now. There was a long line, but also there were many cashiers who were friendly and fast, so I did not have to wait a long time. I ordered eight-piece chicken only (spicy), and every piece was flavorful.
I highly recommend this Popeyes Location. They should place themselves into every major city, if not already!
Good food ,friendly staff and very very clean restaurant
Staff and overall operations need
to be retrained, "HOT"air conditioning apparently not working
The staff was SO RUDE. Yelling at people to order, then not honoring a sign on the wall for a meal. I love Popeyes, but this one needs a lot of work.
Good chicken. Not the best in New Orleans, but good for a craving.
I give the food three stars I mean its chicken right. The staff could be a little friendlier though.
Amazing fast service. Chicken sandwhich crispy and fresh. Super busy and large restaurant.
The attention is very bad. They do not help tourists. They speak to you in a very fast way that is difficult to understand. The food is delicious.
Visited this location during Mardi Gras. Part of seating area was closed to the public without a reason being given. People standing everywhere. For me, never again. And the food was so so and cold.
Ordered two sandwiches to go. One was completely different sandwich. Called the number on the receipt just to let them know and the phone number on Their receipt is disconnected!
We've been hearing all the chatter about how the Popeye's in New Orleans tastes better and different than the other Popeye's in different states. It's all the SAME!!!!!!! Luckily I'm a Popeye's eater
Hi travel-family, if your in the area and hungry, this is the place to go. The food is hot and good, (we ate here 3-days in a row). The staff is some-what friendly, (I guess if you had to serve all those people in line, you wouldn't always be smiling).
Very good service. Popeyes was very clean and the staff was courteous and polite.
That Southern Cajun fried chicken hit the spot during my day of adventure in the city.
Good food, bad service, packing girls had attitude and made us pack our own food
Didn't see any manager young man talked about someone whiting in the bathroom
Worst service EVER. We went through the drive through and it took the lady about 10 minutes to ever get our order then we get to the window and she has no idea what she s doing. We ask for an extra cup of water and she gives us a large cup for a side without a lid with some nasty discolored water. They definitely need to work on the staff.
Best popeyes I have been to. Fresh food and good service.
Visiting Popeyes in Louisiana and It's suppose be the best. Well its confusing as heck; the line is like a horseshoe you and the people are friendly and confusing, you get your drink and food first; then you pay and walk across to get condiments... So for the taste it was a -C no different from Florida. The biscuit was much more fluffier and buttery.
The lines were terribly long and then you have to get into another line to bag your food. But the chicken was fresh and good.
I think they just dropped my biscuits on the floor!
My favorite Popeyes. The chicken is always fresh and hot.
fast and friendly service clean helpful and the food is good very good
