A must stop anytime you are driving through galena!

Great selection but a bit overpriced, even for gourmet popcorn.

The folks who run this popcorn (and more) shop are wonderful! Plus, they give away free samples! Need I say more?

Always Fantastic. We are frequent visitors here. They have a lot of samples, great ice cream, a variety of soda choices, so many popcorn options and everyone is so friendly! Ryan who works the ice cream counter is amazing. I wish they had the Zoreo flavor of ice cream more but it runs out fast!

The smell of the popcorn draws you in. I bought a bag of Carmel pecan popcorn. I did not see hardly any pecans in it! Very expensive $8.95 for what you get! If it says pecans you should include the pecans so they are big enough to see!

The store itself is nice. We were greeted on our way in with samples of whatever we wanted. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The popcorn is good, but not great. I tried about 6 different flavors, and they were all good and I'd gladly sit down and eat a bowl. I just couldn't help but keep thinking about other gourmet popcorn that I'd had that had been better.

Good popcorns and old fashioned sodas. Kind of highly priced for.my tastes. We did not buy as much as we normally do, due to the high prices. If you got the money to burn, it is good stuff.

Many many many varieties of popcorn. The candies there though were not excellent. The Cardinals we had had been in the rapper too long and formed a bit of a chewy crust on the outside though they were delicious. They never make you buy without knowing what you're getting though because they will offer you a sample on basically anything you can buy:-).

More selections of Popcorn than I ever knew they made

Walking in the door ya get a sample of fresh caramel corn. Then you see shelves and more shelves and then barrels of popcorn. Then it hits ya...there is a tall gentleman behind the counter trying to coax and entice ya into spending all your hard earned money on popcorn. I'm pretty sure he had to have sold cars at one time. Well doesn't matter how many customers he harassed people including me were emptying there life savings just to buy some of this amazing popcorn. I walked out with the Hot Cinnamon flavor. Side note they didn't sell plain popcorn. The guy yells at my wife saying you would go to Baskin Robbins and buy Vanilla. Boy was he ever wrong, that's exactly what she would buy!

Great place for wonderful flavor combinations!! They have the great standard combo flavors, but are always coming up with new flavors! It seems great when you walk in...fresh popped is usually happening. They have samples of their different flavors so you are sure to get ones you really like. They also have ice cream in the back. Friendly, helpful staff and owner - family owned.
Stop in when you are in Galena, you will be happy you did. Parking downtown is tricky, matter of timing, or just walk from the backstreet parking areas of town.

Love that they have unique flavors that we could sample.

Popcorn was good, kind of pricey, everyone must love their popcorn as it was very busy

I am a big popcorn lover, so I always make sure to stop there for a few bags to bring home to the quad cities. The owners let you sample whichever flavor you'd like, which is great if you are not sure you want to buy a big bag of a new flavor, or stick with an amazing tasting classic. Make sure to stop by if you love popcorn!

The best carmel cheddar mix! (Better than Garret's or G.H.Cretor's) not greasy or too sweet. Ice cream shoppe ice cream is an added bonus!

My husband visited three times and honeymooned in Galena. He died from kidney cancer and my sister died from cancer two months later. Both of them loved your popcorn and I moved to Vegas. I want to thank you for your fast service to my order and your hospitality. I can eat popcorn and remember all the fun times we had in your little town. Thanks again.

The moment you walk in the door the smell engulfs you and they immediately hand you samples of what they popping in the moment. Sooooo much variety in flavors. Little pricey for popcorn, but the taste is top-notch. Loved the camel....plain ole Carmel was the best!

The best place in Galena for popcorn tons of flavors and just a great shop

Expensive and nothing really special. Bought the 'Butter than the Movies!' popcorn and it was not fresh.

No trip to Galena is complete without a stop at the Great American Popcorn Co. Staff is always as warm and friendly as the fresh caramel corn they offer you as you come in the door. And the fudge is fantastic too.

I love this place. The elderly gentleman there is a joy to speak with. I love the cotton candy as well as the sweet popcorn. I brought some home with me to Hong Kong and into my office. The Tiger Butter was a huge hit with my coworkers. This place is definitely worth a visit.

A MUST Place to Stop and Shop!

If you like speciality popcorn, chocolates, candy, and ice cream: then this is the place to go! The combinations of flavors seems to be endless. The friendly staff will give you samples if you aren't sure just how good it is.

This is in the historic part of town, so parking is limited.

There are stairs, and the aisles narrow for the handicapped to maneuver.

Seeing what i was looking at, the owner asked how hot i liked it. I sampled the Texas Tornado and it is fantastic, half the bags already gone. Thanks for the recommendation! Great sweet varieties as well (gotta balance that heat)!

Awesome place with awesome popcorn that can be found in many different flavors.

The service is awful and the entire staff was rude starting with the man at the front handing out samples. The popcorn was mediocre but the ice cream was good.

I had reservations about flavored popcorn... no more! Got to try a new flavor - peanut butter and jelly- it was amazing. Good distinct jelly and peanut butter flavors.

The owner is amazing, encouraging customers to try anything in the store - ask and he will get anything for you to try.

Will buy from again!

I can't properly give this place a review since I didn't purchase anything from here. But when I walked by when I was visiting Galena, it smelled so good!

Excellent popcorn with a wide variety of options. They let you taste before you buy!

I love this place and have to stop every time I'm in Galena. The only problem with this last visit is the corn had way to many hard curnals in it, had to be careful or I was afraid I was going break a tooth. Don't remember having this problem in the past.

The popcorn here is obviously delicious! Staff is super nice with giving info and samples.

Free samples, numerous variety, amazing flavor. Everyone should go and buy some popcorn. (Then bring me some)

The varieties alone warrant this place a 5 star, but it earns it for the robust flavor in each of their varieties. Top notch!

My husband will only eat my homemade caramel corn and this place. So many flavors, fun trying samples.

This place has the best popcorn. There are so many choices, all packed with flavor. I would say they are equivalent to Garrett's, and that's saying a lot!

I get that the mushroom pieces are more durable but they should consider using butterfly pieces. Awesome flavors though.

You have to grab a bag or Maybe Three bags if you visit Galena. Best flavored popcorn you will find Anywhere. Always Friendly Service and Priced Well. Take Some Home !

Every time I drive through, I stop here for some of their spicy popcorn.

Good popcorn. Always get a few bags when we are in Galena.
