It's the handful of snark that I get with every interaction that really draws me to PMA. As a proud owner of a condo in a PMA managed neighbourhood, it's always a pleasure to deal with passive aggressive staff who won't hesitate to place blame where it belongs: on you.

I love being put in my place by those who feel they are intellectually superior, talked down to and generally railroaded. I'm always looking forward to my next run around the pointless bureaucracy track.

Really keeps you humble, and who doesn't need just a little more frustration in their life? Common sense!? You don't need that! Why make something easy when you can make it Teeth gnashingly difficult!?

PMA - because who has anything better to do with their lives?

Very poor customer service with a authoritarian attitude. Their idea of a notice is " pay immediately or deal with lawyers" instead of a phone call explaining that our newly bought condo has "special assessment " that when asked to elaborate they dodge the question.

I unfortunately bought a house managed by PMA without reading the reviews. Dealing with them has been a nightmare come true for us. I always dared myself every-time I had to ask or speak to the management about anything. The specific individual (if you have commented previously, or lived under PMA management you know her name by now) is outstandingly rude and inconsiderate.

Its like I have to prepare myself to be yelled at, talked down to and left feeling horrible about myself for asking such stupid request or question. When I asked if it kills her to be a little empathy and nice, she responded with "I am not paid to be empathy, I am paid to manage". There was one occasion when she asked me to instead of emailing her, I should be putting a hand-written complaint with "printed pictures" in the PMA mailing box which they normally checked once a week. Because you know, the doves might not be strong enough to carry that. Never-mind that we live in the time where emails exist.

I am not telling you not to buy or rent from PMA. But please do consider other house owners/tenants reviews before you make your decision. Is the low condo fee worth the upcoming hustle?

Also, here is a tip: When asking to have a work done or if you ever have any questions at all, EMAIL is the way to go when it comes to PMA. This way, anything is recorded. Being on the phone with the "management" will only resulting in 98% of you being yelled at or talked down to and they won't admit it as phone calls are not recorded.

PS. If you a home owner or tenant living under PMA management and have had these experiences, you are not alone. And while most people would brush this treatment under the rug, I do hope that more of you would escalate this to the board or as high as you can. The more people voice their concerns in a formal complaint, the more likelihood this abusive treatment from PMA would stop.

This agency is the most brutal extortionists ever. They tripled condo fees in 10 years, then came up with "special fees" on the top of that to the point of putting some people in financial turmoil. Owners who are not able to pay are referred to the collection agency, subjected to threatening phone calls and extra charges.

I ve been living at a property managed by PMA for over 12 years and am very pleased with the management s professionalism in dealing with all issues related to our condominium corporation. I would highly recommend them and consider living at other properties managed by PMA.

I'm a tenant in one of their homes and I love this team. They are easy to speak with and care about my stay. Although I called a couple of times in the year for some minor issues, they took it very seriously. I really appreciate Mary for her help too.

Talked to someone over the phone asking a simple question about hot water tank rentals and was greeted by some woman with an awful attitude and sounded like I was annoying her. She was not helpful and as a potential customer I will NOT be renting from PMA just because of that phone call. You answer peoples questions you represent your business, i do not want to live in a complex where people are treated like that for asking a simple question. Horrible customer service, very disappointed.

Unbelievable nightmare of a company to deal with! ...

Unbelievable nightmare of a company to deal with! They quickly decide you re a 'trouble maker' if you dare complain about anything, and then look out - most people will fortunately never know the brutal reaming a property management company can give almost every aspect of your life, but unfortunately, folks living in PMA properties know exactly what I m talking about.

Their landscaping contractor for our property (Alan McCoy?) maliciously used their snowplow to block my walkway with an object they had to push 25 feet (with a snowplow) to place there (from my neighbour's property). They did this during an ice storm, so the object was frozen in place when I tried to leave my house the next morning. (Why did they do that? I truly have no idea, I had no prior contact with them. But the plow driver was friendly with a nightmare neighbour two doors down - maybe they didn t like me for some reason?)

I emailed PMA to complain (I didn t know who the contractor was at the time), and they absolutely dismissed me and defended the contractor, giving me some line about 'they work long hours'. Why that justifies them blocking the entry to my residence, I have no idea; but that s standard PMA logic.

Coincidentally, shortly after that incident I was awoken early in the morning by a neighbour frantically ringing my doorbell, telling me my car was about to be towed - from my own parking spot. I ran outside and was told by the contractors who had called the tow truck, that the property management company had sent letters to everyone who had to move their vehicles for some work to be done. Funnily enough, I was the only person who didn t receive that letter.

When I emailed to complain about this treatment, they literally didn t even bother to reply. That s the level of contempt they have for their customers (aka employers), and it s only the beginning.

Next came the landscapers intentionally destroying parts of our property (plants, dryer vents, electrical outlets); harassment by neighbours who happened to be friends with one of the employees at PMA; vandalism of my vehicle and residence; escalating demands to comply with increasingly trivial rules, with the threat of eviction if they re not obeyed... and sadly for me, I can t afford to live anywhere else for the foreseeable future, and this company now seems determined to get rid of me so I m truly screwed.

So if you like your property management companies to behave like mobsters, who see you as nothing more than a dollar sign, and only have an interest in shaking you down, then PMA is the company for you!

Good day,

Good day,
If I could I would give 1/2 a star or a zero. I am an owner and I have lived here since moving to Ottawa in 2013, as unfortunately I had no choice for what I could afford when moving here. Avoid at all costs! Parking, snow plowing, flood maintenance, roof problems all issues and have only been handled as I am a headache to management for bringing forth any concerns as an owner. This place clearly wants to become mostly tenant run (whether it be rented through income owner or condo Corp).
When I can, I ll get out!

We have been owners here for the last 21 years, so we have dealt with many PMA members and PMA teams over the years, and some were great and others were not so great. We have been very pleased with the service we have been receiving in the past few years, especially from our PMA Condominium Manager Gerry Bourdeau and company. We have found them to be very professional, accessible, easy to talk to on the phone or by email, and they get back to the owners within an hour or two with a quick response and solution. They also keep our parking lot and exteriors well maintained, provide excellent tree services, keep the owners up to date with scheduled maintenance projects, and do periodic inspections to make sure the Condo rules and regulations are being followed by owners and renters alike to ensure our homes are safe, look clean and attractive, and retain their value. I would highly recommend them.

Just terrible. PMA simply does not care about their tenants or properties. Maintenance concerns are ignored for months at a time and usually not resolved until they become serious. Even after multiple requests for maintenance, spanning months, PMA simply shifts blame to the contractor, makes no attempt to follow up and ultimately dodges all accountability. The property manager is rude and very unprofessional. Long-term rentals are poorly maintained and eventually require substantial repairs due to neglect. The only thing PMA seems to be good as is sending 'notice of rent increase' forms every year. Strangely the terrible service has never improved with the rent increases. Be smart and avoid these clowns.

Note: This is in two parts.

Note: This is in two parts.

Here is Part 1:

These people manage the condo corporation where I live (in Ottawa), and they have no respect or consideration for the people who live there, even though these people basically pay their salary. They are bullies and don't care about people's legitimate complaints. They ignore people's concerns. They don't respond to inquiries. They are terrible to deal with. We pay enough for condo fees and we can't even get any respect in return. It makes me question how competent they are with our money! They hired contractors who did damage to my property and they don't care. There is no recourse. No apology. Nothing. It's appalling. Disgusting.

This is Part 2:

This is my second comment about this company's tactics. I am an owner and have been here for 9 years. Just last year (2016), a new property manager took over and things have not been good here for me ever since. They have begun to harass me for no good reason. Yes harass me. I think it is most likely because I am a woman. They are unprofessional and very nasty. I have been getting bullied for no good reason. I mind my own business. Nobody has ever complained about me and I don't bother anyone. That doesn't matter though. They are not nice people. I used to be happy here but I'm not anymore.

I will continue to update this post as long as they continue to give me reason to since I have no other recourse. They are ruining their own reputation. I am documenting everything.

Here is Part 3:

I have been getting water in my basement and it is because of a crack in the foundation, which is visible on the outside. They are responsible for the outside, but instead they want ME to hire a contractor to tear down my wall from the inside, so that they can get at the crack! I think that is ludicrous! have contacted 3 different professional foundation experts and they all told me the same thing. The work should be done from the outside. Doing it from the inside is only a temporary fix. Some of them won't even do it. When I contacted them recently again, I was told that a contractor would contact me. I specifically asked for a phone call from the contractor. I didn't want them to just show up, like they have done in the past, because I work out of my home, and it is inconvenient if I am with a client in person or on the phone, or some other circumstance, like if I'm not feeling well, which has also happened before. I have been having a lot of health problems due to the stress in my life, and they have made it much worse. I didn't think asking for a phone call was asking too much, especially when my phone number is on my car, which is right in front of my house! Well, not only did the contractor ignore that request, but when he showed up, he banged on the door, instead of just using the door bell, making it sound like some kind of emergency. It was VERY disruptive. I know it was done on purpose. It is all part of their scheme to abuse me. At least that's what it feels like. I hate it here now and it's all because of them. These people are nasty. Absolutely no respect. In the past year, this environment has become so toxic for me that I need to get out of here!

Worst..managemen..ever.. I got screamed at over the phone by the maintenance lady for calling about a chipmunk who had managed to get in through the dryer vent. After calling 3 times with no luck or even a course of action towards how this would be fixed, I was asked and I quote "What the hell do you want me to do about it? It's 10:15 PM STOP CALLING HERE SIR!"

He had been eating our food and pooping in the kitchen area for about 5 days before I had to call Pest Control myself to take care of it (catch and release of course). We are now going through the LTB to try and get our money back ($410); all while they're still actively trying to evict us for any minuscule they can possibly think of.

If you love unnecessary stress or being yelled at turns you on - PMA has got you covered.

PMA Realtor Consulting Ltd...

PMA Realtor Consulting Ltd...

Specializing in running slums. Protecting their own money grabbing interests. The units they own and rent are horrible examples of what people have to live in. If you rent from a private owner who put money in the unit, PMA is jealous and works against you. They fire good contractors, and hire cheap ones to pocket the difference. They give warninga to people who have a recycling bin outside, yet allow others with 6 ripped garbage bags be. Avoid anything run by these crooks.

Be prepaired to shovel your private path, the public path, you private parking space, and the public road. Be prepaired to pick up garbage at your front step every morning from the neighbours. Be prepaired to smell smoke in your gome from neighbours' units and from the outside. Be prepaired to fight mold weeping from the attic.

Be prepaired to be treated like dirt for letting them know of any problems. Do not call the emergency line as no-one will answer. Do not rent from PMA Realtor Consulting Ltd., furthermore, if you own, elect to have this company removed.

Horrible service and extremely expensive. Since we got the condo in 2012, the codon fee went from under $700 to almost $1100 , apart from two elevators and underground parking, there is no gym, party room or any amenities requiring service.

I rent an apartment for which this company is the manager. First of all, the owner of the building is a great guy, nothing but positive things to say about him. HOWEVER, this management company is quite bad. The receptionist who answers most of the calls is rude, uninformed, and tends to make statements based on assumptions and heresay than to actually verify (I can't say why she's like this but most likely out of laziness). They are also very unhelpful when tenants call with issues. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

PMA Management Corp has the WORST Unit Manager (that s if we can actually give her that title). In the evening of February 5th, 2019, the plowing contractor that THEY hired, left a block of melted snow which turned into ice behind my vehicle which resulted in to a damaged the front bumper. I spoke with Donna Maceachern, who rudely stated that I was at fault because I didn t move my vehicle. Now if she s requesting me to move my vehicle at 3am in the morning when they usually come to clean then every single tenant in the neighbourhood would need to do the same. I shouldn t be penalized for their mistake. There was NO accountability taken, I was accused of lying and that there was nothing that she was WILLING to do to possible resolve the issue. Mind way through the conversation Donna Maceachern, has the audacity to disconnect our call due to her lack of professionalism towards an unhappy tenant. I ve worked in a call centre and I NEVER intentionally hung up customer, not even on the most infuriating customer. Of course there was no resolution of this issue. I just pray that she will learn to empathize and provide positive solutions instead of rudely suggest to rent a new parking space or blame people for the mistake of their hired contractors.

Interesting that a bunch of 5 star reviews pop up, nice 5 star review PMA board member, after my housemate and I serve PMA an LTB notice and they are found at fault and filed against.

Had multiple rodents getting into the basement, PMA's way of handling it was to scream over the phone at us for calling the emergency line. Dealt with it ourselves in the form of pest control, and had to sue PMA to get our money they owed us. They were found to be at fault and ordered to pay us back. Thanks PMA.

Looks like we will be going this route again as for the 4th time this year the toilet on the main floor has ceased to work, and to top that off it is now leaking into the basement. Also did I mention the hot water doesn't work.

See the attached photos for yourself, the smell coming from the toilet base is beyond putrid, you think the repairmen they sent the other 3 times would have picked something up...

The Google reviewers for PMA don't clearly identif...

The Google reviewers for PMA don't clearly identify themselves as tenants or owners of the properties PMA manages, and the difference is very important to perception. You have to understand that PMA does whatever an _owner_ tells them to do, so while you might not like what PMA does they act in the interest of the property owner, within the limitations of the law. The reviews on Google appear to be one-sided tenant reviews of PMA, and to be honest there will always be unhappy tenants because _owners_ might have instructed PMA to act in a certain way with regards to their property. Therefore you need to take some reviews with a grain of salt, particularly when they come from tenants, since this may not reflect PMAs actual capacities.

My review is as an _owner_ of a property managed by PMA.

I've been using PMA to manage my property for over 10 years and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The team is incredibly professional, answers my questions quickly, is effective and efficient. I couldn't ask for anything more from a property management company. I would recommend them to anyone who has units that need management in Ottawa. I have had some difficult negotiations with tenants, as all things are with money, and PMA has been incredibly helpful in those negotiations. Issues of money, ownership, responsibilities, they are all difficult things for tenants and land lords to handle. PMA helped us through all of it. Again, I can't recommend them enough.

I don't work for PMA, and I have no connection to anyone who works at PMA, this is review is my own opinion of the team at PMA that has managed my property for over a decade.
