Yes, this place is outstanding. This restaurant has 1 Michelin star and you really come here to try the tasting menu since this gives you the best of what the chef currently likes to cook. The tasting menu usually has around 8 dishes and even though the portions are small, you'll feel actually pretty full at the end of the meal. I love how they bring out the food slowly so that you have enough time to enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the wines. Every plate is prepared with a lot of love for detail. The duck and steak dishes were my favorite. The way it was prepared was very unique and causes an explosion of different tastes in your mouth. The wine parings are spot on. They also have an extensive wine list including some really good German white wines.
Service is outstanding. Go the the restroom and rest assured that your table is cleaned up and prepared when you come. The waiter will also be right there to get your chair in place when you return to your table. They know what they are doing and they love their job - this is not fake.
If you behave well during the meal and ask for a tour, you may get a tour through the wine cellar and the kitchen and they'll explain the history of the restaurant.
Overall and amazing and unique experience.

Had a birthday meal there tonight, and at a little over 150 dollars a person I left feeling fleeced rather than delighted.

However they set up their heaters, the outdoor table wasn't getting any and was frigid. The service was distracted throughout, taking long intervals and generally failing to clear the mess from the table until it really started piling up. Chintzy pop music was playing throughout, which kind of really just felt right on point for the ambience. Seeing Voss water being served (at 10 dollars a bottle) just helped hammer in that I'd sat down at a place giving the impression of fancy while taking me for a ride.

The puffed rice was agreed to be the star of the meals which is a sad callout. The antelope dish was pretty nicely put together, but basically looked tiny on the plate. All of the dishes were really. The scallops were okay but felt drowned by the truffle and hard to get a nice blend of flavors. Didn't really come together for me. The pork belly was presented well, but was sort of eh, possibly because it was shared and didn't work well as it being just about four bites. Hadn't realized it was a michelin-star before, but would never go back.

I'd rather spend twice what I did here at Alexander's and leave full and like they were delighted to have me there. Or in the same price range at Wakuriya where at least there'll be a half dozen plates this size with attentive personal service. My partner immediately put food in to cook right on getting home because they left hungry.

Service was above reproach - truly world class hospitality. Some of the items on the tasting menu were absolutely fantastic, but there were a few that were pretty underwhelming, especially for the vegetarian tasting menu. The atmosphere was nice, but I wasn't into the light fixtures that changed colors and sometimes lit the dining room in awkward colors. You'd have a few minutes of dim subtle romantic light, and then the lighting would briefly change to cheap-dentist-office-off-green, before settling into another pleasant cozy tone. Overall a very good experience, and I'd certainly recommend it, but be prepared to pay for the experience.

I went here for dinner with a large group so maybe the experience is different from the usual dinner menu. Overall the ambience and service were great but the food was not that special. There were lots of expensive ingredients like foie gras and uni but overall the flavor of the dishes didn't stand out from other restaurants in this price range. My least favorite dish was the 2nd course of our 5-course meal which was a very sweet black cherry foie gras dish paired with vidal ice wine that was like having dessert right before the entree.

This is a tremendous restaurant offering fantastic chef-created dishes, impeccable service in a stylish atmosphere. As a Micheline one-star restaurant, Plumed Horse deserves serious consideration for a special occasion.

On my visit, I opted for the tasting menu with the rare wine pairings. Although very pricey, I heartily recommend it. Expect to pay up to about $1000 for two depending on optional selections.

My meal followed a fairly standard progression for a fine dining tasting menu, with several seafood selections followed by pheasant, veal, cheese and dessert. Excellent wine pairings, some a bit adventurous, we're poured by the sommelier, who was eager to answer any questions on the selected vintages.

Notable among the tasting menu dishes was the chef specialty souffle with uni and Dungeness crab sauce (pay the supplement and don't pass this up!), A salmon preparation that almost melted in my mouth, and a veal fillet that was so good, it brought tears to my eyes.

Among the wines was a Chardonnay that would change your idea of the all too common grape, and a 1982 port was everything you'll ask for in a dessert wine.

As a very special treat, I ended the meal with a very dear 1932 vintage maderia, which certainly qualifies for the oldest food I've ever consumed. I can only speculate on how this pre-war vintage survived 86 years before finding it's way to my glass. Truly a bucket list experience.

One cautionary note, should you opt for the wine pairings, I highly suggest using Uber for your transportation!

Cant go wrong with the tasting menu. Always changing, whatever is fresh and in season. A little exotic items sometimes. Wine pairing pours are very generous. If you dont want to sit down and go all out, you can sit in the bar area and order off of the bar menu. The French dips and truffle fries and oysters are my recommendations. And dont forget to see the truffle cart for a delicious dessert.

The store is pretty, and the chocolates looked very elegant. They are hand made in the store, and at $5 a piece, one would expect something fantastic with every morsel, but unfortunately not even close. Of what we tried there was nothing special, and doesn't even compare to a bar of Ritter. One piece that had natural honey in it tasted like urine.

It feels weird to say this about a Michelin starred restaurant, but Plumed Horse was even better than I expected. I think maybe I was expecting stuffiness and a menu full of the old standards. But from start to finish, the meal was More

Service was great. However the food was dissapointing. The appetizer we got (Uni and Crab Souffle) was delicious but it went downhill from there. The steak was ordered medium rare, but it looked more like medium well (maybe even well). The halibut was average, along with the chicken. For a michelin star we had higher expectations, especially for getting the rarity of the steak wrong. For $300+ for 3 people, we had higher expectations.

I like this place and the food was really good. Excellent staff and service. The staff serving the plates seem rushed with the description of the dish. The food was good, but I wasn't blown away with the creativity of the flavors.

Wonderful cuisine, but the kitchen gets backed up with big parties. We waited a good 30-40 minutes between our starters and our main course. I noticed the same occurred with other tables in our area, so I am assuming that's what happened (saw that all the private rooms were full when we arrived). Not good from a fine dining restaurant.

August 8, 2018 we visited again and had the tasting menu. Service was great as was the cuisine. Five stars!

We went here for my wife's birthday. We are so glad this place reopened! The food was amazing as aways, the service was excellent, and the outdoor dining was nicely decorated.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly which made the night memorable. We can't wait to come here again. :)

Exquisite fine dining California French with asian influences. But the real star is the world class wine cellar with a sommelier to match. Wine pairings take the excellent food up to heavenly dimensions.

Wife and I come here occasionally for date night. The tasting menu is usually the way to go and if you don't like (or don't have time to) sit through a 2 hour meal, you can tell them to up the pace and they'll bring each plate out in faster sequence, which is great.

Also check out the impressive wine room/cellar.

We went with high expectations as this is Michelin one star. The restaurant exceeded all our expectations.
The service is fantastic. The dinning environment is very comfortable. The food from presentation to taste all perfect.
They even offered my 7 years old daughter pasta with olive oil! The price paid is well worth it.
Highly recommended!

Giving it one star solely on the poor customer service. I ve had the chocolates at the restaurant and they re good. I walked into the store Wanting to purchase a few boxes of chocolates but the chef/owner point-blank told me she can t sell me any because she s got too many orders. But the shop door was open and plenty of chocolates on display. Not sure why she was refusing to sell to me.

Anything less than 5 stars make no sense for this place. Literally. I could digress for hours on the wine list and their incredible cellar, it probably would not resonate with most of the audience. Service is incredible, food is what you would expect for a michelin-star restaurant - tastes you never experienced before.
The lounge is also an amazing place to hang out! The place was renovated recently and the decor is very appealing.

about 18 tables in the main dining area. modern and formal but not oppressively so. service was excellent, friendly and accommodating. i had the tasting menu. as is typical of such restaurants, servings were very small, but filling by the end of the meal. everything was very good or excellent with the exception of the fish dish which was good but uninspired. the chef pairs unexpected flavors together, successfully. my favorite was the foie gras.

Incredible service, presentation and food. Chef tasting + wine pairing is highly recommend. The Somm is top notch and spent time with us (even pulling out some 1976 bottles he recommended!) If you are a foodie, don't miss this place in downtown Saratoga.

Note: parking in Saratoga is a huge pain, use the valet right outside the restaurant!

Amazing Madeira selection ... literally some of their selection is literally historic. For $500 you can have a drink of a 1780 (yes, 4 years after they signed the declaration of independence) bottle.

We went there for a special celebration. With that in mind, we were prepared to try out their expensive Chef's Tasting Menu. Their dishes were uniquely and delicately prepared , hence $$$$$ and petite. With a glass of very good Pinon Noir and complementary champagne at the end, our damage was around $520 for two of us when we walked out. Now, we were happy to try it once for the occasion but I do agree that one could get equally good food with that kind of price at another place. That said, their Wagyu beef was excellent and their sour dough bread was one of the best we have had for a long time. Their service that night was very good and attentive. I would give A+ for that and maybe a 4 stars for the food.

High end restaurant. You are not paying just for the food but the entire experience. It's like being to top chef. Food was good and I tasted squab for the first time and the wine pairing was excellent. Again, be prepare to blow your budget. It's one of those experience that is first class

I am not sure what happened to this place, it used to be so awesome and now it's just awful. The good is far from as good as it has been and not sure where they get the bartenders but they don't much the upscale theme of this place. More interested in talking then serving. Will never go back.

Excellent service, fantastic food, and interesting menu. The tasting menu didn't wow me so we went ala carte. The uni/ crab appetizer was delicious. I had the venison for the main course and despite being just a hair to rare for my liking it was still great. The wine menu is extensive and desserts cart afterward was interesting. My only real complaint is the changing lights which gets old after a few hours.

This site is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a fair lunchon, this place comes straightaway to my mind. fresh and all sorts of food and a rich menu.professional staff members, and pleasant spirit. Not less important, the price is affordable. I suggest this spot with pleasure.

Good chocolates, but very pretentious and overpriced ($5.00 per piece). The young lady waiting on us actually said they use "grass-fed butter". There are much better ways to describe the ingredients used than to claimmade-up terms that aren't possible.

South Bay Michelin stared restaurant with a large wine collection. Staff are friendly and service is good. A minor issue is that they don't have as many options for vegan/vegetarian courses as you would expect a fine dining restaurant to have.
