Very, very expensive and worth it. In my opinion, the only high-end restaurant in South Bay that's worth its salt. My favorite is sitting down at the bar with the nicest and most fun bartender in Silicon Valley and enjoying the pre-fix menu. Great with a friend or by yourself.

I just came here the other night for an anniversary dinner and it was awesome. You have to try the crab and uni souffle which is fantastic. The watermelon salad with green peppers is also really good. The combination is so interesting and it's refreshing, sweet, but with a little bit of a kick too. For mains the tuna and pork are both great and beautifully presented. The complimentary amuse bouches between courses were pretty impressive too!

Went there for a friend's birthday. We were a party of 20. We had their seven course tasting menu. Few of the items were absolutely delicious. The fish and the desert were disappointing for a Michelin star restaurant. We were also not pleased with the service. They kept on serving water with dirt in it - even after showing them. The most disappointing part was when they brought out an empty plate with a candle on it for the birthday boy. When they are getting paid for a 20 people dinner, you would expect a few goodies with the candle.

Considering this is a Michelin rated restaurant, I was not impressed. Food was good; however, not spectacular, as one would expect, coming from a Michelin star rated establishment.
I ordered a Kir Royal, and the champagne was flat. With that said, I don't plan on returning!

Excellent service here and so non pretentious. Must haves are the souffle and the anniversary plate ( which contains a nice serving of fatty duck liver).
For a Michelin star restaurant, I expected the food to be really good, however the main courses were disappointing.
Also they will bring a cart of champagne when you are seated- don't be fooled its not complimentary. I suggest skipping the cart and order A bottle of wine direct from their extensive wine list (which is in silicon valley fashion on an iPad)

We did the wine pairing with chef's menu. It was brilliant. It had around 8 courses paired perfectly with awesome wines. The service was great as expected and we loved our time there. By the end of it we were completely full and were"high" on our meal.

We will definitely go back at some point.

Perfection? This is a great place to go for a special occasion. The staff is well educated in what they need to do, and how to treat you. You will not feel rushed or crowded, yet service was on top of everything ready to meet your needs. Food off the charts for exquisite taste and presentation. From beautiful decorations to knowledgeable staff the experience alone should wow anyone looking for a special occasion.

Fantastic food and wine ! The only reason I am not giving this restaurant a 5 is due to the slow service. Wine director seems to be extremely knowledgeable and wine list is one of the most impressive list I have ever seen. I would highly recommend the food and wine, just wish service had been a bit better.

Lovely atmosphere and fine dining with interesting overhead lights. They have a delightful bar area with a good selection of whiskeys and nice wine. The pre fixe menu was great - the beef and chicken dishes were really good. Their beef Tatar appetizer was superb as well.

Extremely disappointed in both the food and service. We ve come here a few times, for both birthdays and just drinks. In terms of a full dinner, the service is good. However, the steak was some of the worst steak we ve eaten at a decent restaurant. The rest of the tasting menu was not at all memorable.
My true critique is of the bar staff. Never have I spent more money on sub-average drinks for a staff that could not give a single care about their craft. The drinks were terrible and they couldn t wait to go home. Not once did they check in on any of their patrons. The bar was full, and every single person was complaining about service. Where has the Michelin standard gone??

Short:

Short:
Ideal location for intimidate dinners or celebratory situations. Impeccable service, good sourcing for ingredients, and excellent cooking. Outdoor seating was properly set up, spaced out adequately, and still notably comfortable.

Long:
Excellent wine selection, but it's hard to not start off with a cocktail.

At the moment, no fixed courses. Ordered the scallops to start and the A5 wagyu tenderloin as the entree. Highly recommend the combination of a light seafood appetizer and heavy protein to finish. Also, to clarify, the chef confirmed that the A5 is BMS12 Miyazaki wagyu. Absolutely fabulous, rich and explosive in umami, but if you're not into the heaviness of wagyu, I'd imagine the base beef is still excellent.

Dessert is rather limited, so what they have is basically the dessert of the day/week.

I've been here pre and now post pandemic, and I can say that I've yet to have anything less than a delightful meal here.

Elegant environment for a special occasion. The place is beautiful and the food is fantastic. Occasionally the Chef dreams up something a bit too strange for my taste but I have really enjoyed every visit. The wine selection and cellar are amazing but not cheap. Get dressed up, go and enjoy!

I have to say. This place definitely makes you feel like you're in Beverly Hills or somewhere like that. Not that Saratoga isn't on that level, because it definitely is. But the sleepy little town is home to this swanky restaurant and bar. I definitely would recommend this place for a business dinner or to take the love of your life. Foods great. drinks are strong. Bring your wallet, but it's worth the dough

We were there for Xmas dinner. Set menu was very average definitely not worthy of a 1 star Michelin. Price was $125 which was reasonable. Service was terrible...may be they were short staff. Very mechanical. No human touch. The bread guy only came by once. Our 6 yo son didn't have to get the set menu which was good. He ordered a children butter pasta -- portion size about 3 tablespoon. It was so small he ended up eating half of our food. Price: $36. Shame on Plumed Horse for over charging. They should have informed their patrons of a $36 kid pasta at the time of order. We would have been better off ordering the full 5 course dinner at $125 and everyone would have been full. Shame on them. We were there a week before and the service was marginal. There are so many choices in the Bay Area. We gave up on Plumed Horse and won't be back.

My wife & I had an overall nice dining experience here. We had the vegetarian tasting menu, & they accommodated us easily as we also don't eat eggs. The food, as with most tasting menus, is creative & small in quantity, but each item adds up so you feel full by the time you are done. If I had to go again, I would dine for the same price at Taj Campton Place in San Francisco, whose food & service have consistently been much better. Here, most of the people were friendly but some did not seem as enthusiastic about service. The dining is quite formal but the atmosphere livened up once the shades were opened when the direct rays of the sun were blocked. The overhead music is lively. Parking is plentiful on the street & behind the restaurant. They did spill something on the table & onto my wife, and did offer to pay for dry cleaning - but probably should have taken her food charge off the bill given this is a Michelin restaurant.

Easily one of the best dining experiences in South Bay we have had. Waiting service is exceptional, timing water refills, plate removals, wine offerings perfectly and in a pleasant mood. Ambiance here was wonderful and warm, with impressive wine cellar and selection available. Lastly, I recommend going with the chefs tasting menu which varies between 7-10 courses, not including wine. The breadth of dishes served was wide while maintaining great quality. Lastly, either go with champagne or wine and unless you are committed to finishing a bottle, go by the glass. Wine bottles tend to skew rather high in price given the quality nature of the place. Our dinner took circa 4hrs from start to finish, including the complemtary chocolates at the end. Highly recommend.

Fun for a fancy dinner out. The cocktails are very good, as are the signature appetizers. The seasonal tasting menus are hit or miss.

The bar area is a hidden gem if you want to come in for a drink or dessert without the full multi-hour dining experience.

Visited for a work dinner. We were seated in a private room and served the chefs seasonal menu. Initially service was very attentive but eventually we spent long periods of time waiting for a waiter to appear between courses. The selections were hit and miss IMO but the presentation was top notch. expansive drinks menu and the glass wine cellar is something to see. Great experience and on the expensive side but not unreasonable for a Michelin star restaurant.

Writing my very first google review because I am wildly disappointed by how far downhill the plumed horse bar has gone. Word to the women behind the bar: if you re going to voice argumentative, rude and offensive comments about the patrons you should be serving, do it behind closed doors like professionals. No excuse for what we experienced here, and I will not return.

So so experience. Surely a mojito or a Moscow mule isn't a challenge ... Here sadly yes. Sent so many clients here for dinner and my first time for an after dinner drink. Nice environment but wine only!

Most people are often surprised that I have not dined at Plumed Horse before. I have been meaning to for a few years now but always decided to skip it because a trusted foodie told me of his bad group dining experience and that the food wasn't very good. Granted that it has been years since the incidence, we both have very similar food preferences and taste so I trusted him. Well, I'm now kicking myself for not stopping by sooner. Not only was every dish more delicious than the next, I had to fight the animalistic instinct to lick my plates clean. OK, I might be exaggerating just a bit...but I totally would if no one was watching! Not only was I blown away by the fantastic food, but I now know how to get my foie fix in California! Well the same person who had given them a bad review was with me for dinner and he agrees that Plumed Horse has definitely redeemed themselves after that night. This might now be my favorite restaurant in the South Bay!

***Tip on how to get "free" foie gras**
Order the tasting menu (non-vegetarian one, duh) or the wine listed under "Hot Appetizer." The foie is a surprise bonus dish in the tasting menu and the wine is what you pay for and the foie is just a freebie to accompany it.

Smoked Tuna Cream Cannoli- Perfect with our glasses of bubbly!

Parsnip Soup- A hint of sweetness amongst the rich creaminess of the soup

Big Eye Tuna Tartare- Very good. The caviar helps to bring out the flavor of the fish.

Black Pepper and Parmesan Souffle, Uni and Dungeness Crab Fondue-I instantly wished that I ordered 3 of these and skip the entree. This was the dish I wanted to drink a gigantic bowl of!

Surprise Foie!-This was an awesome freebie! I was so happy to be reunited with my beloved foie gras!

Camembert Cheese Fondue, Duck Fat Fingerling Potatoes, Black Truffles-It's really hard to top everything on this menu, but this dish really took the cake. I don't think words can describe the state of Nirvana I experienced. The potatoes tasted like like perfectly cooked duck and had large chunks of black truffles. This is rather big for an appetizer and the starch really filled me up. It is great for sharing.

Lobster Risotto with Fresh Shaved BlackTruffles- I didn't like this dish as much as I thought I would because the truffles ended up drowning out the taste of the generous chunks of lobster. There was so much truffle oil and shaved truffles on top! There was also something pungent/sour in the dish that turned me off a bit from this particular dish.

Kobe beef with bone marrow- Very yummy but not amazing. I've had better before at other restaurants.

Pork done 5 ways (forgot the name)-Interesting as this included pork belly, a spiced sausage, and 3 others although I can't recall them now. This was probably my least favorite of the night.

There were 2 more desserts that I probably blacked out through. I vaguely remember something with caramel and another that had dehydrated port

**EDIT** I remember them now :P

Vanilla semifreddo, passionfruit & olive oil curd & basil - Pretty good considering that I'm not a big fan of passionfruit.

Vahlrona Chocolate Mousseline, Port Wine Gele & Whipped Creme Fraiche - A very dense chocolate dessert. I was too distracted with the other dessert to appreciate this one.

"Curiously Strong"- Mint mousse, chocolate cookie crumbs that tasted toasted (intentional?), roasted marshmallows, mint.

Macarons with Mango jellies- Some of the best macarons I've had in a long time. The jellies tasted like perfectly ripe mangos.

The only thing I could fault them for is upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk to greet us and we stood around in the dark foyer for a while before venturing into the dining room where a very confused maitre d quickly escorted us to an empty table. A little disappointing for a starred restaurant but my dining experience more than made up for it.

**Photo Op tip**
Drop by the cool, glass, walk-in wine cellar.

Had an excellent anniversary dinner here with the summer tasting menu and the wine pairings. The food wasn't the most experimental fare that I've had, but it was all exceptionally well done. The singular highlights were the parmesan black pepper souffle with dungeness crab fondue, and the lobster risotto with generous shavings of Australian winter truffle. But in all the other dishes as well the ingredients reflected masterful selections of complimentary flavors. The wines were all very good pairings with their courses, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of the champagne and the Riesling, which are not usually my favorite styles.

Service was very attentive and pleasant, though I am glad we made an early reservation, as the dining room became loud as it filled toward the end of our meal.

The Plumed Horse gave my wife and I a night to remember, and I would heartily recommend their tasting menu for special occasion dinners.

Service is really not to Michelin standard. We had reservation at 9:30pm. Got there at 9:20pm and waited until after 10pm to be seated. Waited another 15mins to get our waiter s attention. I asked for cocktail menu which never came. When we got the check the waiter forgot to give us card back. We were charged for wine paring on our bill which we never ordered or were served. Anyway the service is just a mess. Too far below Michelin bar.

Absolutely wonderful! Angelica was warm and inviting and her chocolates are exquisite; beautiful and delicious! My boyfriend and I bought a dozen and each one was a unique experience within itself. She warned us she was good and we were definitely not disappointed. Her chocolate donut did in fact taste just like a chocolate sprinkled donut...better even! I could go on forever with praise, but in a nutshell, she simply makes the best chocolates I have ever had the pleasure of tasting and if you are ever in the Saratoga area you need to stop by her shop and buy some. One will not be enough. Just do it. Your senses will thank you.

I should have listened to my husband's coworkers. We've been wanting to eat here for while so I figured why not since we were married in Saratoga and it was our anniversary. I've heard good things from a couple people but my husband coworkers tried so hard to convince us not to go. R. E. G. R. E. T. !!! Don't get me wrong, service was nice. I liked how they come around to serve you bread so you don't eat the whole basket, but we were having and engaging conversation and it felt like they interrupted us a bit everytime they came by. That's not even the worse part... We paid $$$. The food was not worth. We ordered the tasting menu and the flavors were okay, underwhelming and just lack luster. Granted we didnt order the add ons (which they said we would the full experience, but at additional $$$) but regardless the food just didn't shine at all. Dishes lacked soul and excitement. We received the tuna and it didn't taste fresh and the squab had a chewy tendon through the meat that made it hard to chew. The shrimp was probably our favorite out of everything and it was only just good. On the bright side nothing was too salty so the nailed that. If you must experience it for yourself then by all means, but to be honest this was one of my most expensive mistakes.
