4 1/2 stars. Huge property. Large rooms but need a little upgrade/attention. Employees all very nice. Meals are buffet and mostly well prepared, tasty and vary from day to day. Good dive operation on site with great crew. "All inclusive" is a great deal. The resort pours freely and charges a small extra charge for premium.

It is a fantastic resort, with friendly staff! All accommodations are well facilitated and within reach. It is mostly quiet, plenty of space on the beach in cots. At the cocktail bar they make delicious cocktails for all-inclusive guests !!
The sea in front of the resort is almost unparalleled in terms of diversity !! It is wonderful, really coming back !! We enjoyed!!

I enjoyed this place very much. However, the resort was under construction. 2020 they should be complete with the new pool and other creative ideas. Beautiful place and the food and hospitality was good. 2019 was a DIVE club trip.....but would consider a family vacation here.

No microwave. No stove. No Swimming pool due to construction. Rooms are ok size wise. We covered floors with towels due to AC condensation had puddles, wet floor. Mosquitoes. Food is not good. Bread is stall. The glass sliding door was very hard to open due to rusty canals. Overall, needs maintenance.

Setting is beautiful, the rooms have been renovated. But cleaning and paying more attention to details could be better, in particular hygiene of the beds. I found hair from guests on the sheets for us.

Great affordable resort. Variation in daily meals. Bath towels are changed every day at the reception. Staff is friendly and competent. Evening entertainment is less present. Personally, I think it's a loss. Hotel room we had a grande suite with sea view. Great room. Aging but does not affect the quality of the room. Swimming pool is currently a children's pool due to renovation.

Lots of troubles and no bubbles for my kids @ Toucan Diving (NOT the resort itself) ...

The diving school thought it was more important to get more money from adult divers instead of children (Bubble makers).
Also not a good experience heard from other people and also for myself it was difficult to make one or two dives, the high season was about to start ... Too bad when we booked this resort for this. The woman was also not cooperative and not customer-friendly. I had never experienced this at a PADI certified diving school. But hey there are plenty on the island.
Really happy because 5 steps from the resort is VIP diving that helped us well, professional and very customer-friendly.
However, the bar and snack bar is very tasty and good. Also very customer-friendly and always that beautiful smile of the lady (s) behind the bar.
So for a drink and a bite to eat, but for a swim I would walk a little further!

Resort is a bit old but luckily they are updating it. Room was not quite school and when we reported it was thoroughly cleaned.
Nice beach and nice service at the bar. The food is not something to write home at most all inclusive resorts, but this was certainly disappointing!
For pictures of the resort, take a look at the site of vd Valk Plaza Beach!

PS: Bonaire is great, relaxed and clean. And in my opinion the best dive location!

Rooms are large if not fancy. Restaurant did a decent buffet each night. Toucan Diving and the house reef are the real stars here. They run a great operation and have great staff. Shout-out to Oscar, Jeroen, and Job(Stern-Tie) for helping us out all week and being an awesome crew. Never felt the need to go to the rest of the island to sneak in an additional dive after the boat dives, the house reef has everything you could want to see.

Good service, nice facilities at the resort. Rooms have AC, hot and cold shower, TV and a mini refrigerator. Furnished neatly with comfy beds. Resort has 2 swimming pools, a pizzeria on it and a bar. Mostly opened till 21:00 hours. Owner and staff are nice. Staff on the resort are very helpful. Good spot on Bonaire to relax for the holidays.

Nice resort. Only resort with all inclusive on Bonaire, which was also good for each other. Great food with buffet. The resort has its own beach and house reef where you can snorkel nicely. The center of Kralendijk is within walking distance.

Very nice place. Very large rooms. Unfortunately needs more thinking about appointments: needs more towel racks, more outlets. Can't reach hand shower. Overhead lighting throws shadows which makes it difficult to perform tasks

If you don't mind waiting 1.5 hours for your appetizer to come while everyone else is eating their dinner, only to be told by the barely English speaking waiter that that is the European style of dining, then come on over to the run down plaza. Then u have to beg for water and rarely receive the meal that you asked for. The plaza has seen my last dollar.

This resort is in a really beautiful place, so that we could see a very large part of Bonaire from our sea view room. The resort is being refurbished and some are complaining about this. We had a room that had already been refurbished and were not bothered by the work. That is why we had a wonderful holiday.

Because the staff are friendly and helpful, the gardens well maintained, you can snorkel from the beach within a few seconds between the most beautiful tropical fish and the food and drinks were delicious. We were close to the restaurant. There was great food, with a nice view of the bargain. Also the snack bar and the bar on the beach were super!

The reception is always there for you, the facilities are good and renting a pick-up or scooter was a piece of cake.

Enjoy your stay on tropical Bonaire! Especially do: during a cooling boat trip by Mark Dubbers, the sympathetic Harbor Manager of / at the resort, sail to Klein Bonaire to snorkel there and enjoy the beautiful underwater world. Enjoy!

On the whole it was a very pleasant experience except for the noise next door to our room which was caused by a couple who had a party as well as drilling one afternoon very near our room. The hotel is clean but in need of a full renovation. The food in the restaurant was excellent! All in all the hotel is good value for money.

Good and nice hotel for a competitive price. We have been coming there for several years and have seen that people are always working on innovation. On arrival as a token of appreciation an upgrade of the room. We will certainly remain a regular guest here and look forward to the planned innovations. We also experienced the coffee moment with the management as very positive. Here it was clear that people have an ear and are open to the wishes of the guest. Small recommendation, a little more often a band or a DJ in the evenings at the bar would promote the fun.
In short, if you just want to take your rest or do fun things then this is the place to be!

Worst "Resort" I've stayed at, employees were rude, rooms outdated and dirty, walkways to rooms covered In bird droppings, Only one of 3 bars open the entire week, one "restaurant" cafeteria style foods.
The maids stole $300.00 worth of our belongings and the "resort" did not even bother to offer to replace the items.
After we reported them to the management we received dirty linens and towels to our room the rest of the week.
They tried to nickel and dime us all week, $25.00 breakfast per person, $25.00 lunch per person and $23.50 ???? Dinner per person. Food was bad we ate in town all week.
The casino was a joke also.
STAY AWAY !!!! This place was horrible.

Friendly staff, wide buffet choice but sometimes you have to wait for your drinks. Kitchen is top on some days, other days again moderate. It really depends on the chef (chin). They were finally fixing things up because the Van der V. family was coming for Christmas. The snorkel tour with Toukan Diving at 2am to Klein Bonaire is a must!

This is our second stay here in the last three yea...

This is our second stay here in the last three years. Two years ago we spent two weeks here and really enjoyed ourselves and all the resort offered.

We are here now in the middle of a three week stay and unfortunately the same cannot be said. I will say improvements have been made to the grounds. The service at Coconut Crash is outstanding and the food at the new Scubar is very good.....when you can get it. Tucan Diving is much improved and everyone has enjoyed the staff there.

Since our stay is so long and we wanted to stay all inclusive with diving I had to make our reservation through the hotel not online. Not a problem until two days ago we see unexpected charges come thru. What I was invoiced and told to pay 50/50 did not include the requested diving (shown on invoice) nor our premium drink upgrade clearly requested via email. Resulted in about $1,000 more than initially invoiced.

The food. The good thing, I won't be gaining weight. Gone is the cute area filled with yummy breads my kids loved so much. It's replaced with a self serve beverage station and it's almost impossible to get a fresh coffee or cappuccino, some of the staff in the restaurant will even flat out refuse to make it for you.

Gone are the cute parfait cups with yogurt, various salads and desserts. Now they are spread out in the center sad, sorry and no longer yummy.

Breakfast is pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, fruit and salads every day. Several days the fruit has been canned pineapple rings. Gone is the wonderful, fresh papaya. My son and I went in for a late breakfast yesterday, no ice around the yogurt so it was warm and the only service we had was 5 minutes before close to collect our plates.

Live cooking. One night we had a good snapper. The gentleman that works at lunch is very nice. We went in yesterday an hour after lunch started and the had already sold out of whatever they had for lunch. Another night at dinner we went in an hour before closing and they told us live cooking stops at 9 even though dinner runs until 10.

BBQ night, the food was grilled ahead and cold. We've just found the restaurant food to be all around poor. Enough to make us not come back. Far removed from just two years ago.

Scubar serves fantastic food in contrast. Most days they have grilled fish and will serve it on a nice salad for us. The kids enjoy the fresh wraps. The issue we have had is trying to eat dinner here. Some nights they stop serving dinner at 5. Last night they were busy but we were told since it was 6 she would only make certain things (open until 7 if busy). So we settled on two bowls of soup, two wraps to go for the kids and a salad. The soup came and it was great. Then we got 1 wrap and told "oh well I'm cleaning" even when we explained we had two kids. No salad. We wouldn't be trying to eat dinner here if the restaurant was tolerable. So we are out of dinner options.

I miss being able to get food at Coconut Crash too. They used to have a great goat cheese salad.

We have mentioned our dislike of the food to the restaurant manager and several others.

Our room. We do like our ocean front suite, they were being renovated when we were here last. As our stay has continued housekeeping has declined. We do get fresh towels every day and the beds are made but I'm noticing the sand is not being cleaned from the floor and it tracks into the bed, then you notice the sheets are not being changed because you're sleeping in sand.

Come to Bonaire, it's amazing but I would not stay here.

Great place to stay. Nice staff. All understand dutch and english. Rooms are big and comfortable. Adding little more character to the rooms would be nice. Great stay for the weekend. Incl shuttle service to and from airport. Close to Kralendijk, can walk. Can recommend and will be back for sure.

Dear people

Dear people

I just want to say something.
What a fantastic resort this is.

Me (Mother) with a critically ill son.
We were people in need, who were urgently looking for a room for 3 days with 2 people.
We had to stay 3 days extra in Bonaire without the rest of the family,
because we had to fly back to the Netherlands with a special flight.
In desperation I arrived at this resort to find a room.
At this point, the super friendly, sweet, caring, understanding Roger was at the reception.
I was in tears but he made sure I was seen and heard.
Well nothing to add !!!!!
He does not earn 100 but 200 points.
What a wonderful man.
The way he helped us, no words.
He made us feel very welcome.
Our thanks are therefore very big !!!!

Too bad our son was so ill that we couldn't use the facilities.
The beautiful new swimming pool had been open for less than a week.
How beautiful that has become.
The beach, the restaurant, the bar, the atmosphere.
In one word GREAT.

The room was really spacious and neat.
Nice view and very good air conditioning.

We also want to thank Brit, Sherin and Genorreve.

We will be back soon.

Kind regards Heidi and Harrie van Lierop.

We just got back from Plaza Beach Resort. We stayed for 9 days there. The resort is located just 5 minutes from Flamingo airport and provided a shuttle to and from. The resort has its own private beach with snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, sailing, a beach bar, volley ball, and more. It even is a dive spot (18 Palms) that you can dive straight from the shore (no boat needed). Internet worked perfectly on the beach so you can instantly upload any pictures taken. We saw tons of fish right off the beach like tarpan, tuna, eels, angel fish, etc. The staff were super friendly, especially Quincy, (our group server). He would do anything that you asked of him and I always felt like royalty with him. He made you feel special. The food was plentiful and a wide variety was offered every day. We even rented Scooters straight from the resort which made it easy to go site seeing. The Tucan Dive Shop was AMAZING. So friendly and fun. They made the dive experience totally awesome and each person wanted to make sure you were always happy. Seriously, I loved this place. Even the rooms were big and had TV, internet, daily cleaning, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and basically everything you need a hotel room to have. I definitely suggest this place!

Really a nice resort. Now Bonaire zoiezo is not very busy what we like. There is always enough room on the private beach of this resort to relax. The food truck they are talking about on TripAdvisor no longer exists, there is now a fixed cafe for food at the diving school. You can also borrow snorkel gear for free.
