If you're an aviation fan, you will love to come here more than once. This place has flyable planes, planes in various stages of restoration and a huge boneyard. The exhibits span from the beginning of flight ( wooden planes, a replica Kitty Hawk), WW1 era biplanes and later. Japanese WW2 planes and later Soviet jets, seaplanes and some military vehicles like trucks and half tracks.
Note: The place gets really hot in summer.

Just watched "FORTRESS" a movie about the B-17 and it's crew . The movie was good and it was great to see how the B-17's and her crew survived bombing runs. Hell of a plane. Respect and Props to the men/women of WW2 who fought/died to stop a evil man

I really like this place. One thing i didn't like.
They were filming for a movie or something ad one of the hangar was close.
I really wanted to go to that hangar. It was the USS enterprise hangar.

Great place if you are into aviation and even if you're not. You learn a lot about the history of aviation. I didn't realize that it has only been 60+ years between the Wright Brothers and landing on the moon!
There is an incredible number of fighter planes and jets from WW1 and WW2. I really liked where the history was given of the actual fighter or bomber I was looking at. And there are so many of them that actually can be, and are, flown now.
One gets to see many captured German and especially Japanese fighter jets from WW2. Full size replicas of many planes are also on display.
Give yourself at least a couple hours to see everything. If going in the summer, remember that the hangers aren't air conditioned and can get hot. And yes, there are many places to sit clean bathrooms.

Great air museum focusing primarily on WWII aircraft. Most of the planes are airworthy and can be seen in the air at various times during the year. Before or after your visit, drop by Flo's Cafe (just 2 minutes up the road) for some hearty chow.

An awesome place to visit if you like history or aircraft. I especially enjoyed the WWII aircraft, many of which are flyable.
A great place to visit with the family.
Veterans honored with entrance, coffee, and a lecture on the first Tuesday of every month.
Check out their website for flight demonstration dates.

Many of the rare old plane are in display here and many of them are still operational. Got to see many of the war era planes not going to mention names cus I'll probably get them wrong. I see there will be an air show coming up in May 2014 hoping to make it out.

If you are in the area definitely check out the place

My dad loves this place. Usually in may they have an air show with the old birds flying in the sky. I rented a ride for my dad on one of his birthdays and he had a blast. Was a bit pricey but worth it. He had such a good time he's an air force veteran. This is the place to go if you're into history and planes

I really love that place! I drove twice from Phoenix to Pima because of all that great stuff they show in- and outside their hangars!
You wouldn't imagine that they even have a Boeing 787 on their field :o

Great place to visit if you have ANY interest in aviation and/or history. This place has certain flyable aircraft that can only be seen here. The P-26 Peashooter comes to mind, along with the Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero. One hanger is a maintenance and restoration facility for these aircraft, so bear in mind it can be a little "dirty" if your not used to that environment. Great museum and I am a regular visitor. Love it!

A great air museum, my significant other and I are members and go at least once a month. Not only can you see historic aircraft, but many of them are still flown, too. Don't miss the air show in May.

The best airplane museum and a treasure in Southern California. Ed Maloney's legacy was to preserve one of each airplane in flyable condition and Planes of Fame has a large collection of World War 2 warbirds as well as Korean era/ Vietnam era planes, and a display of the classic air racers. A wonderful family outing, a place to talk airplanes, and they have a monthly history symposium with featured speakers who flew them. Their annual air show is one of the best in the world. Membership is very affordable and highly recommended.

Terrific museum. Annual air (May or june) show one of the best. Their goal is to keep the aircraft in flying condition and to fly them, not just as static displays of history but planes of fame you get to hear, touch and see flown!
