Fun place to visit if you are into things airplanes - specially military.
Great time with my son. We enjoyed learning about aviation history. Great place to visit with the family
80 yrs old engineer, made parts for military plane engines
Even though it is a restore, it is impressive to be able to see the zero battle
Amazing History! Loved it! This place is loved and well taken care of
A must see place to visit. I recommend that all people visit this place and see what great sacrifices people before us did to persevere our great country
Very cool place. You can walk right up close and personal to the aircraft. Lots of jems in the hangers.
Fantastic place to visit. Great selection of planes and very helpful staff. Entry fee is very reasonable. Their commitment to restoring older planes is commendable and educating younger generations. Would highly recamend.
The ORIGINAL warbird mecca. This is an awesome museum filled with at least 3 to 6+ hangars of aircraft. With a majority of them in flying condition, this is the place to see and be. Make sure you have plenty of time to walk through, as well as the outdoor displays. Huge collection, and lots to see.
Outstanding collection of historic military aircraft, a few of which are still flying today. The inventory includes the only flying example of a P-26 Peashooter and an A6M5 Zero flying with almost all of its original parts, among other aircraft. Also, they have friendly docents, and they have days where military veterans can get in for free. If you love history and aviation, you should give it a shot.
If you are interested in WWII planes and history...this is the place! Getting better and better over the years! Very interesting place and lots to see!
What an awesome place! If your into aircraft its a must see. Talk to the pilots, see the amazing planes and hear our veterans stories.
It was great. So much better than I expected and the guys were very knowledgeable.
The Planes of Fame Air Museum is unlike any air museum I've ever been to. It is special. An incredible collection of all era of airplanes, with a particular focus on WWII, and many of them FLY! The display of aircraft and memorabellia is awesome, but the atmosphere is electric! You can actually see guys working on the planes, and walk right up to one and touch history! On any given day, you can actually see rare and historic planes fly around the museum! And on certain Saturdays, they host an event where actually WWII (and other engagements) speak in person. My family could not believe we were meeting living legends.
It's a little challenging to find You have to pass the museum signs at the corner of Euclid, and go all the way down the street to Cal Aero Drive. That is where the magic is!
This past weekend our family went the Planes of Fame Airshow at the Chino Airport, and it was AMAZING! Fun for adults, lots of things for kids, and over 50 planes doing flying demonstrations!
Planes of Fame Air Museum is a treasure for Chino, and for every visitor. We hope to go again soon!
World War II Aircraft Museum, $15 for adults and $6 for children, a good experience
Great museum with lots of fun and interesting planes to look at. Definitely worth the stop not your normal touristy attraction. They also have a helicopter for the little ones to climb in and a gift shop. Overall we had a nice time visiting.
very nice place to visit and work if possible very nice staff with a lot of information on planes and war stuff.
The first Saturday of the month is always a fantastic experience.
Most all the classic warplanes still fly!!! Massive collection! So fun. Really enjoyed watching a P51 mustang take off.
Great museum with a lot of history. For photography the planes are parked really close to each other
They have a huge collection of planes on site for up close view, ranging mostly from Pre-WWII to Korean War & early jet age inclusive of foreign made aircrafts from USSR, Japan & Germany. A large number are fully restored original in flyable condition. P-38, P-51, F-4U, Zero, FW190, Migs, B-25 & B-17, etc plus a few tanks and vehicles. Very knowledgeable, friendly and courtesy staff. Location is a bit out of the way from Los Angeles but it's well worth the drive and cost of admission. Highly recommend.
What a great place to pay homage to the planes of our past. The displays are priceless and the meticulous care in which these war birds are maintained is simply amazing. As a former air force crew chief and employed in the aviation industry for over 50 years it reinforced my love of aviation and what it took to put these machines into the airand those that sacrificed so much. The gift shop is wonderful as is the manager with whom I spoke to about upcoming events at the museum and was informed about another air museum just down the road on Chino Airport property!! Yanks Air Museum. She also provided a tip to a great mom & pop eatery (Flo's) on the same road between the two museums. A fun day....two air museums and a great lunch.
Very cool, but a lot of walking and you kind of have to be into history to appreciate the relics
The museum was amazing!
So many great planes. Hope it continues to showcase our air history. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This is by far my favorite aviation museum. I am a major WWII aviation buff. They have one of the biggest flying collections around!
Aviation history! Most of the planes here still fly. Aviation enthusiasts and/ or anyone who visits will be amazed.
Great place to see planes from history of war and avation
We bought our tickets on Groupon for a great deal. We went around noon on Sunday (Christmas Eve) and it was completely dead. 3 cars in the lot.
We spent about an hour walking around, and looking at all the planes. It was interesting. They don't give you any history on the planes, which is disappointing. Just a map, with the names.
There isn't anything interactive. You can't get inside any of them. There is a tiny helicopter outside with steps that are very wobbly, that you can climb in and take photos with.
There are about 4 hangers with planes, then a bit outside. You must pay close attention. A lot of the planes are all over, and the wings and propellers are eye level. So you could easily get hurt if you don't pay attention. Also, where there are things roped off, the poles stick way out. I tripped over one.
It was fun. A one time kind of thing. There is no place to get food. There are a few soda machines. A gift shop. Pretty pricy. We get shot glasses when we go places. Usually 3-5 bucks. There's was 9. There are restrooms.
Fun little place to go to waste an hour.
I do weddings there, the place is so cool. Much more then just planes to see, gift shop, snacks and tons of fun for the whole family. Love It!
Planes of Fame has exquisite collection of aircraft and artifacts and an annual world class air show. Many of the museum aircraft still fly which is amazing. The people who run this museum are first class and of the highest integrity and character and don't deserve to be the target of an obnoxious lawsuit aimed to stop their annual air show.
Took my 2 kids here. They absolutely love seeing airplanes in the sky, so they loved seeing them on the ground. Made a beautiful memory for me. The WW2 planes were AMAZING to see!! There is a gift shop and 100s of detailed models of planes various countries and time periods...I recommend stopping in for a visit
Awesome place to learn about military aviation!!! Living history, historical planes that fly. If it leaks it's working!!!
Only in the world, maintaining the original Sakae engine, it is preserving the zero type fighter fighter type 52 which can fly.
Although it passed over 70 years after the war, it has been maintained very carefully, it looks like a brand new look.
The staff were also very kind and helpful.
I respect respectfully that I keep keeping a dynamic state of many historic aircraft.
Great educational tour. If you love planes this is the place for you!
Antique, many objects bigger than my age. Personnel management and protection of hard work, these antiques can know.
Wonderful place to spend the day with the kids or the wife. This museum has some of the rarest WW2 planes and equipment on display. One of my favorite displays is the original zero. And please spend some time with the Picadilily Lilly, the B-17 out front. I do hope she flies again some day.
I'm commenting firstly the Airshow (as I can't find another place to do it). One of the best WWII airshows, on par with Duxford UK! Some shaded areas would be helpful, especially for senior citizens like me. Almost got grilled on the grand stand. The museum is a bit crowded but what a variety of aircraft! Exept for the Spitfire, Val and Zero all planes that flew were US. Would be nice to have a Mosquito there as the USAAF flew them before they got the BlackWidow
They have some especially rare birds everything is beautifully displayed and the docents are knowledgeable fun until great stories
What an amazing collection of planes, most of which still fly. I'll definitely be back.
My dad loves this place. Usually in may they have an air show with the old birds flying in the sky. I rented a ride for my dad on one of his birthdays and he had a blast. Was a bit pricey but worth it. He had such a good time he's an air force veteran. This is the place to go if you're into history and planes
Really enjoyed myself, lots of interesting things too see. Planes were awsome.
Awesome assortment of aircraft laying around in different states of repair. Only thing I would have liked to see was the labeling of all the aircraft in their courtyard/boneyard. They gave us a list of what aircraft they had on site but we weren't sure which ones were what until we got into the hangars.
Great display of ww2 aircraft. I wish they still sold the snap together plastic plane models, though.
It was very interesting and informative and I liked how they had a variety of different planes.
Love this museum! There are rare historical aircraft in this museum. The docents are well informed and willing to answer questions. Great learning for children and adults alike! I highly recommend visiting this museum.
If you love history and airplanes, this place is a perfect place to visit. So many planes to and things to see that you could spend hours trying to see everything. I was here for an event where I was able to meet an actual Tuskegee pilot! It was an incredible moment that I will cherish. It's worth it to visit and we're fortunate that it's right here in so Cal.
Incredible display of aircraft and despite their age, those that have been restored still fly! Amazing displays filled with history. Put this on your to-do list!
A wealth of historical information with lots to see and read.
Wonderful place with a lot of old airplanes. If you like planes and want to show your kids, and learn about world war planes and technology, this is the place. A mush visit.
Beautiful, you must bring the kids. There is a store with amazing stuff too. Staff is great!
Awesome visit, planes are in perfect condition, explanations are detailed and clear. As aircraft lover we had a great time!
Has some unique aircraft that are the only ones of their kind still flying
Great collection of planes and things pertaining to flight. They will also cater events in a hanger for large groups or parties. Nice people and it's worth a visit
My one year old grandson loved it!! He was so excited to get so close to these amazing airplanes!!
Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino California at the Chino Airport is an excellent display of fully-restored-and-flying military and civil aviation aircraft. There are regularly scheduled flying exhibitions most weekends, so I highly recommend subscribing to the email notifications and becoming a sponsoring member.
There are a number of very knowledgable volunteer and paid staff members who are always willing to share excellent and interesting information about the planes on display.
This museum is great because so many of the planes still actually fly, and most of them look like they still could. Walking through the displays of this museum transports you to another era. We would like more stories and descriptions of the planes. There are a lot, but we want more.
A lot of history and a good place to take the kids for a few hours. My son knew a lot of the planes from playing Call of Duty games and was amazed to see them in person.
Really cool museum with a great selection of planes. Very knowledgeable staff that enjoys what they do. This is a must see place!
Really enjoyed the older aircraft. Usually a jet fighter guy but I can now appreciate what those servicemen did for us to be able to be speaking English, and not German or Japanese.
I am from New Zealand and we don't get alot of this equipment to view so it was a once in a lifetime experience.
Also the short blonde with the boots on was a hottie and is well worth a visit just for this.
Its an airplane museum, you get to see aircraft from world war 2, to the modern airplanes.
There are some exciting aircraft here but the display hangars are so crowded it s very difficult to view or photograph once you leave the main hangar off the gift shop.
