While the place still serves one of best pizza in Amsterdam, it's now entered the dreaded circle of 'places to be' which, in turn, makes it virtually infrequentable, unless you like the company of dozens of hip youngsters putting up a contest of who scream loudest, in utter terror of going unnoticed. And the owner thinks it's a good idea to pipe dance music through that thundering rumble. If you want to enjoy the good pizza and the fast service just avoid Friday and Saturday, then the noise, the crowd and the pressure may be viable.

We had high expectations for this place but were disappointed. The Vesuvio pizza was nice but the Norma pizza wasn't anything special. We have had nicer Pizzas in Amsterdam. The biggest disappointment was the service. We kept having to get the staff's attention for a menu and to order. I'm sure we just had a rare bad experience. At least the Tiramisu was yum.

We tried to go twice, one night was full and they said that Maia had no availability, it was 19 hours .... the next day we arrived was a Monday and several tables were available, they said they had availability yes, they saw that we were with baby they said that it was not time for a child that if we wanted to come it would have to be before 18. It was super well recommended by friends, but unfortunately they were very unfriendly with us

Best pizza in Amsterdam, hands down. We visit the restaurant fairly frequently and the staff are always smiling and happy. They even know our order off by heart and that we like to order immediately - this is what customer service should be. And the pizza...just wow. No other pizza place in this city compares.

Do 5 stars because it is proposed as a pizzeria and the pizzas are excellent. The boys are all Italian, friendly and nice, wood oven, it's like being in Italy. Tiramisu is divine. I'll be back

This is one of my two favourite pizzas in Amsterdam. Pizza in Amsterdam is not the greatest, I also live in southern Italy so I am picky. But Fuoco Vivo is as good as I can get in many parts of Italy.

It should be 5 stars because of the excellent sour-dough pizza's. But, unfortunately because of the the positive reviews, high ratings and stream of foodies they have raised their prices by 20%. If your wallet allows it, it is the best pizza in town! Otherwise, you should have gone there when they were still unknown.

Good pizza.

Good pizza.

Sometimes can be a bit overcooked but the ingredients were perfect!

Definitely at the top in my Amsterdam pizzeria list

This is the best Napoli style pizza in Amsterdam. ...

This is the best Napoli style pizza in Amsterdam. The closest comparable sour dough Napoli style pizza like this can only, as far as I have found, be licated in London; Franco Manca. This is better. Saw a review complaining that the dough in the middle is raw. It's not; it's paper thin as it should be. A pie only needs 90 seconds in the oven and the char on the edges is also as it should; last few seconds directly under the heat. Staffed and run by Italians and some from Naples. If visiting from abroad, please note they take EU debit cards, not credit, and cash only. These 2 pies, 1 IPA, and 2 glasses of Montepulciano wine cost 36 euro. Staff attentive and friendly. Visited 3 times in just under 3 weeks. Same experience. If back this way, it's my first stop.

The best pizzas in Amsterdam after my experience, without exaggeration. All original freshly made pizzas are only served with the finest butterfly thinly sliced ingredients such as mozzarella, which are prepared in the clay oven.

Really recommended.

Having reviewed pizza all over the world I wanted to try one of the highest rated pizza restaurants in Amsterdam that was pretty close to the houseboat I was staying on. I had already picked up a bottle of Chianti red wine so I decided to get the pizza to go. I ordered the traditional margarita pizza. The price was very reasonable. The service was good and the oven was large enough that they had the pizza out very quickly. The pizza is a sourdough pizza with very light and natural tasting ingredients which allows you to really taste the crust. I could tell that the sauce was made in house and the mozzarella was fresh. The pizza oven crisps the bottom nicely and leaves an awesome crust around the edge. If you decide to eat in there are dining options out front and a cozy environment inside. Overall, really enjoyed the pizza and I highly recommend Fuoco Vivo...

Great pizza restaurant! Super cozy, food is great and staff is friendly.
Menu is also great and there are many options for all sort of diet. Strongly recommend :) Not too far from Dam square, so it's worth to walk r take a tram there!

If you look at the reviews, we must have been unlucky with our pizza. We were both very disappointed and not even eaten. The dough was very wet, very thin fillings and very bland. Also very pricey, 15th for a pizza is a lot, especially with such sparse fillings.

It's okay. Pizza was fine but not as good as the reviews would have you think. Wine list was tiny and the house wines by the glass were pretty poor. Service was very good though and the waiters were attentive and quick. The most disappointing thing was you could only pay with maestro or visa quick pay which none of our cards had, so a slightly embarrassing and inconvenient walk to the cashpoint followed

I ordered the special pizza and it wasn t special at all. I ordered some Rucola to fix the taste of it. The service super slow and neglecting altho there were 3 occupied tables. No worth to come back.

The pizza shop I found during my first trip to the Netherlands.
The shop feels good and makes Margherita
The mushroom topping
I ordered.

It s so tasty and out of 10 days trip
We had dinner here for 3 days!

There is no Tabasco like Japan,
There is a peppery flavor of olive oil called spicy oil, and it was great with pizza! You can see a pizza pot and baking from the hall (^ ^)

After that, an uncle of flower sales came during a meal and bought one flower w

It's a shop you want to repeat when you go to Amsterdam

I really wanted to be impressed by the pizza but i wasnt. The dough was chewy and quite sour. I eat a fair amount of pizza and this one just wasnt for me...
Another star down is that no Mastercard is accepted - the last 5 restaurants in Ams i went to all accepted it. "Its Netherlands" doesnt do it anymore....
Other than that - very nice and friendly staff and AWESOME tiramisu!

They re very generous with the amount of mozzarella spread on your pizza and I appreciate that :)

Delicious pizza. The soil is excellent. Every table has spicy olive oil, something that I am a big fan of. Staff are friendly and fast even with a full restaurant our pizza was ready quickly.
There is a view of the beautiful wood oven and the kitchen. The rest of the restaurant is not particularly attractive, but it looks okay.

I have tried several pizzeria in Amsterdam and Fuoco Vivo is the best.

The restaurant is not big and it gets full very quickly also during the week days. Reservation is suggested during the weekend.

Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and good pizza.

I highly recommend it.
