Pitmaster Bbq Company Review

Best brisket you can find in the Idaho Falls area. Nice portion sizes, and really good sauces to go with it. Great place to eat overall.

Hands down, one of the best bbq places I've eaten at. The ribs were the best. I wish the brisket was a little more fatty. A great stop on the way back from Yellowstone. Service was great. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating.

Get There Early For Lunch

The place fills up fast at lunch time. The food is very good abd the portions are generous. A good place to go when you are hungary.

My favorite BBQ in Idaho Falls. I like the brisket best of all.

This place was great! The employees were nice and got us or food quickly. Definitely one of my top five BBQ places!

Food taste great but don't be so stingy on pork sandwhich. Big bun little meat. Two times now.

Food is amazing and they have a good selection of BBQ sauces. The staff is friendly and the sitting area is always clean.

Three stars because I've had decent meals here before. Unfortunately the last couple of times have been lack-luster at best.

Today I got a to-go order and asked for the XXX sauce and extra crispy fries. I saw her put a container in the to-go box but it ended up only being fry sauce. So pulled pork with no BBQ sauce is okay by itself but not what I wanted or asked for.

The fries - they weren't crispy at all let alone extra crispy. Floppy and soggy - some might like them that way but I sure don't.

Maybe if it weren't busy or there was additional help at the counter the orders might come out correct (and quicker - I was one of three tables when I walked in, no one at the counter so I ordered right when I walked in yet I waited for a while and watched my food sit on the counter (maybe to cool so I wouldn't burn myself....?) while new orders were taken and she looked a bit flustered).

Hopefully I'm not being overly critical - I did eat all of the pulled pork sandwich but not the fries or fry sauce.

It's making me rethink going again when there are plenty of other options for lunch near by...

Awesome service, very professional catering, and delicious food! Stop bringing sandwiches to meetings, unless they are smoked brisket sandwiches from Pitmaster!!!

Mix the Mac and cheese and baked beans.... Best thing ever!!!

Not a good experience here. Maybe just timing, ordered from the menu, sides advertised on their board they didn't have. Ordered what we thought they had, waited twenty minutes only to be told they had run out of something else we had ordered. You would think they would know what was available before we made our choice the second time around before we paid. So discouraged at that point we went somewhere else. Atmosphere is nice and extremely clean, just unfortunate.

Was ok, fast food type BBQ. Better off going to Famous Dave's.

Came in tonight for dinner . Food was good but the tables were dirty and once cleaned one up and we sat it took them 30 min for us to get our meal. Bathrooms needed attention and ran out of baked beans. But the food was very good so hopefully they were just having a bad night

Breakfast burritos are great. Ribs are great. I wish it was a little cheaper but it is very good.

FANTASTIC Brisket! Great prices. Great service. Even a nice selection of sauces. Lots of menu items including side dishes and several choices in amounts of meat. Did I mention the Brisket? It was tender, juicy, flavorful and the rind was nearly perfect. You should definitely give it a try. You'll be happy you did.

Fantastic pulled pork as usual. Homemade fries, homemade desserts, must stop in and try their food. Don't forget Pig Candy!

They have really good barbecue sandwich and they're black and blue Burger is really outstanding. The sauce that they offer is really delicious great place to go it gets busy

Our office loves it! It's close to the downtown area, and has excellent food and service. We highly recommend the brisket! A great alternative for the standard fast food.

Some of the worst brisket I've ever had..to expensive for quality..sides small strange potato salad..

My favorite restaurant anywhere, hands down. The service is pretty fast and the food is exquisite. I love the the sample sliders; you get three mini sliders with different meats--I enjoy the pork, brisket, and pastrami. Their meat and cornbread is legendary and their sauce is too.

Took along time for food. Place was not busy at the time. Once food did show up it was cold.

Excellent! They brought us in with a coupon, we weren't disappointed. Great sauces, great food, great service. We'll be back.

"We don't count our meat"-masters is more like it. After waiting 20 min with no one in the restaurant...they told us they couldn't complete our order. We asked for a refund because they don't have the best or biggest selection of traditional BBQ. We waited another 25 minutes for the minor correction. Bad service. Mediocre food.

Best BBQ I've had in a while. Shirley was so nice and so sweet. Communication was awesome service great. I want bottomless ribs!!! Well, semi bottomless. I wouldn't be able to stop myself. RIBS!!!

Not a great choice for our anniversary.

This place looked great on reviews but it actually wasn t that great.

The food tasted great, the ribs had meat that came off of the bones barely by touching it. The sauce was really good as well. The only complaint at this point was that the fries were not fresh. Later, we would realize that this same food gave me and my wife food poisoning during our anniversary.

It s been a couple of days and the diarrhea is like nothing I ve had before. That same night, after having our fancy anniversary dinner (as fancy as we could have during self-isolation), my wife as I felt awful. I had sweats at night. The inevitable came later, it s still the gift that keeps on giving.

Thank you Pitmaster for great tasting ribs that gave us food poisoning.

Edit: Since the restaurant replied, I m going to update this. It was the ribs. I do not recommend unfortunately. I ate the ribs again days later as I didn t know that was what caused the poisoning. But after all, we spent over $50 on ribs and they tasted good. The diarrhea came back. Maybe it was all a coincidence, but what are the odds that the common food was the ribs. Instead of trying to blame others, figure out what s going on with your ribs.

Delicious. Honey bourbon sauce was SO sweet but the competition one was good. Potato skins and Mac and cheese the perfect amount for lunch. Flexible menu, friendly staff. We liked it better than famous Dave's!

First off, food is excellent. And if this review was solely based on the taste of food it would easily get 5 stars! But...Customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great other times it's absolutely terrible, they treat you like a huge inconvenience. Like I said, food is excellent but it's not uncommon that they run out of brisket but 2 or 3 in the afternoon. How can you run a business when you are always out of things?

Food was really good. I had Rob's special. Corn bread was also really good. The fries were okay. Service was really good as well.

Great bbq joint. The pig candy is not all it's cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong, it's candied bacon, but I've had better.

I walked in, new to the city. First time at Pitmaster BarBQue Company, learned it is the only location with a second on the way. Ordered a Rob's Favorite was excellent. Tried all the sauses made in house excellent. Overall very satisfied.

Love the affordability of the family combos. Fantastic food and bbq sauces. We LOVE the macaroni! Great local bbq overall.

What?!!! We came on A Thursday at 4:30. What kind of BBQ place doesn't have any pork? Disappointing. Ordered the Idaho Nachos with chicken which was cold and dry. My son had the ribs and they were so tough he couldn't eat them. Daughter ordered a burger which was fine. Mac and cheese is mushy and my son wouldn't even eat his chicken strips since they were so dried out. We won't be back. And to top it off there was a hair baked into our cornbread!! Unbelievable

I probably should have ordered BBQ from a BBQ place, but I have been on a burger kick lately so I opted for their BB Burger. Which is their blue cheese burger. It was ok. The blue cheese was old and cold, and it had either a slice of American or cheddar on it also. Almost as if the blue cheese was forgotten and thrown on, on the end. The fries like someone else noted were not abundant, and could have used a minute or two more in the fryer.Update: I tried the brisket and it was also lacking, cold, sliced like roast beef for sandwiches, and barely dribbled with sauce. Update: I tried them for breakfast, and guess what? You guessed it, also meh. I live a block away and love BBQ. Three strikes and you're out, I'd rather eat at Arby's and I don't eat fast food.

First off, the food we all had was great! Now for the bad. They were out of ribs at one in the afternoon on a Saturday. The staff was friendly, but not so informative on the menu items. The online menu had the details we needed to inform the staff of what came with what. The dining room was fairly messy. I went and got a cloth to clean my own table before we sat down. The lady did offer to do it when I asked for one but they were a little overwhelmed, so I just did it myself. Under the condiments and paper towels looked as if it was just wiped around and never moved. So long story short the staff might need a little more training on menu items, they had to ask the kitchen about everything. We got two kids burger meals, the brisket burnt ends and beans, and the bb burger. Came for the ribs,but they were out was way to early for a Saturday. I watched at least 6 customers ask for them as well. Maybe hang a sign saying out of ribs at the door, that way people don't even need to wait in line to be told no. Would I go back? Only if I called first to see if they had ribs.

This place is amazing. If you only eat out one time while you are in Idaho Falls, make it here. I grew up in BBQ country and this place is the greatest BBQ joint I have ever found outside of DIxie.

Stopped here visiting from Utah. It was delicious. We got the Flaming Hawg burger and 2 meat platter with ribs and brisket. Both were amazing. The burger was probably my favorite. The smoky mac and cheese was amazing too.

Love eating here. The only thing on the menu I don't like is the coleslaw. It always seems dry. Everything else is to die for....pig candy, homemade french fries, mac'n'cheese and all the meats yum.

Pitmaster BBQ was amazing. The brisket was so moist and tender with lots of flavor. Cornbread was the best I have ever had. The Hawgachanga was so good. It was tasty with the meat and melted cheese with their special. A must have.

Love this place. Ribs are the best in I.F. the brisket was a little dry though and our food took about 45 minutes. It astounds me they would only have one person in the back on a friday night let alone the night of black Friday.

Ribs are definitely not fall off the bone. Everything else is very good. Brisket is so good. Just disappointed in the ribs.

Literally the best BBQ I ve ever had. Everything was so so so very tender, juicy, and delicious. I m from GA and came through on vacation, and I can say I will certainly miss this place. The ribs especially were fall off the bone tender and good, and I say that as more of a pulled pork kinda guy.

Food is really good if hot. Eat there about every 3 weeks our so. However seems like service has been going down hill the last few times in. Last time they shorted me a rib, food sat on counter while cashier helped some one else, food came out luke warm, kitchen help needs to pay attention if she is busy. They did bring out food to their boss, but who pays.

I was able to serve part of my LDS mission nearby here and we loved this place. Great food! Great staff. Some of the best food i have ever had! Ever! Period! I wish i had one near my home so i could eat there every day.

It's good bbq. I miss real southern bbq, but this is a very good substitute.

Their service is fast and friendly. Food is fresh and great and there are large portions. I also had breakfast their last week -- very reasonable and filling!

The cornbread was good and the ribs were fall off the bone. The brisket however was very dry. Friendly service and I will be back next time I m in town. Just not for the brisket

Staying in town for a couple days, I used to live here, and came across this restauran. I would have to say that this is the BEST BBQ I've ever had, HANDS DOWN !!!

Sort of like a fast food bbq place. The restaurant is clean and easy to get to. A nice stop if you need a fast dinner that is inexpensive, but not burgers and fries.

Best bbq in Idaho. Slow smoked brisket over pecan wood. All menu items are made fresh daily. Best fresh cut fries anywhere. Competition sauce just won the Wyoming state championship.

Great BBQ with the best spicy sauce that you'll ever try. Definitely going back.

Really good. Very affordable. The smoked meat isn't overpowering. A good balance for BBQ.
