Delicious BBQ. Best in Idaho Falls.

They were slammed when we went today, about a 30 minute wait to get our to go order. We could see the cook hustling, they just looked understaffed for an unexpected rush.

I arrived at 5:00 on a Friday because I wanted to beat the dinner rush. What I was met with was "we're out of pulled pork." Right before dinner rush on a busy day you don't have pulled pork. I got the brisket (was OK) and the pork ribs (too chewy) and for the side it was mac n cheese (awful stuff, didn't eat it. Elbow noodles swimming in grainy yellow sauce with stale potato chips crushed on top. Just disgusting). Maybe I'm too critical of what the locals consider the best BBQ in town. Where I'm from this place would be labeled the fastest BBQ joint to go out of business.

Good food, will come back. Want to try more menu items, had brisket sandwich and pulled pork, both were good.

This food was a little pricey but after trying it, the money was worth every bite!! This place is amazing and should be packed all the time! What amazing bbq these people have!

Overall a decent bbq joint, has good brisket and pork, the chicken was a little dry. The prices are easy on the wallet as well.

We stopped on our way back from Glacier. So yummy!! Absolutely the best BBQ.

They did run out of food by the time we got there at 7 pm. But THEY HAD THE BEST HAMBURGER IN TOWN. The burger was so good and flavorful.

Saved us from bad chain restaurants or fa st food! This was fast and tasty. Also clean and friendly.

I was excited to find what promised to be a great local BBQ joint.

First impression when walking in was the lack of smoke smell in the building. Granted, smokers are usually outside but that hypnotic, alluring smell is the norm for the BBQ joints I frequent.

We went on a Saturday night and were looking forward to the burnt ends special. Unfortunately they were out by 4:00 p.m., and I wondered why they didn't make enough to sell more instead of running out so early.

When I went back up to the counter to order something else, the two girls on the counter were gone; the guy in the kitchen said he didn't know where they went, and I stood there waiting for them to saunter back in.

So I ordered, grabbed drinks, and sat back down. And waited. And waited. By this time more people were coming in and they were getting busier. I was sipping on sweet tea and was disappointed that it was barely sweet and very watered down, with little tea flavour at all. Oh well, not the end of the world.

About 20 minutes after ordering, a waitress came to our table to tell us they has run out of one of the upgraded sides we ordered. Ok, I get running out of stuff - but why did it take 20 minutes to tell us? We were sitting there wondering why it was taking so long to slap some brisket on a bun.

When I talked to the cook (might have been an owner or manager, but he didn't have the courtesy to tell me) to get a refund, I asked why it took so long to tell us they were out of the side. He said when he went to put the order together he discovered they were out.

Here are the two major things that are contributing to the one star rating:

1. The order sat for 20 minutes before even beginning to put it together. Why? This is a sandwich, folks, not a five star meal. The meat is already cooked.

2. Why didn't he know they were out of the side? What about the person who put the last of it on another order prior to our order?

The entire staff acted like they didn't give a flip. Slow, poor service.

We ended up driving over to Dickey's Barbeque Pit, had two brisket sandwiches with 2 sides each and drinks for far less than Pitmaster charges. Had our food within 3 minutes of paying, and it was good. The sweet tea tasted like sweet tea. The place also smelled like a BBQ joint!

Been here twice and they got my order wrong both time. Food isn't that good. Save your money and eat McDonald's

Great food and great service! A little pricey to eat there everyday but it's worth the cost. Best BBQ in Idaho!

Locally owned BBQ eatery. I like what I call the messy pig, sandwich with the coleslaw on it. Burnt Ends on Saturday best every time. I use the leftovers in my hash for breakfast.

The chimichanga is the best. Great place to eat in Idaho Falls!

This is one of the worst dining experiences that the wife and I have had in long time. The BBQ was lack luster, poorly cooked, and just COLD. I told the girl at the front that, and she looked at me like I was bothering her. She gave me that I have to be sympathetic look. Didn't offer to do anything except microwave it. Sorry, I don't send food back. I know better. For the price and the amount of food you get, it isn't worth it. The sauces are sorry as well.

I for sure will NOT be back. I know it was an hour from closing, but at least care about the quality you serve. I could have purchased a Hungry Man meal with more flavor. Also, the service was slow. Disgusting, please avoid!!!

The food is always amazing, those young fellas I always see back there keep a clean kitchen, and very organized. The only bad experience I have had is with the same girl every time working the register when I go in. Charging me wrong, giving me the wrong food, she complains about how busy it is etc. She needs a good retraining.

Used to love this place. Order to go picked up at 830... only got 2/3 meat plate when i got home, and everything was cold no bbq sauce. If you go choose the busy slow times might get decent food.

Very good bbq, my favorite sauce was the Chipotle BBQ sauce. Had pulled pork sandwich with Coleslaw. Definitely my kind of coleslaw, not too creamy, zesty flavor and tangy. Pulled pork was very good and soft with smoky flavor. Only complaints were use of Styrofoam cups which seems wasteful, and portions were small for the price.

The ribs are delicious and the Mac and cheese is to die for. The corn bread is wonderful as well.

Always superb barbecue, but if it's Thursday or Saturday, you're in for a special treat. Brisket tacos on Thursdays, and burnt ends on Saturdays. The brisket tacos start with their melt in your mouth brisket, topped with just the right amount of homemade slaw. Add your choice of their own competition sauce, or kick it up with a splash of the XXX sauce.

Best BBQ in Idaho Falls. Out of the way location and yet very popular.

I would have given 5 stars if it wasn t for the staff that attended me tonight. Food was great, and place really cleaned and organized. The only problem was when I was at the register, the girl who was attending never saw me. Then, one of the kitchen crew came outside and he didn t even tell her I was standing there or even acknowledged me at all. How can she know people are standing there if she s just looking toward the kitchen? Everything else was good and superb.

Not bad sauce. They use much. Not sure how the meat taste, but the sauce is great.

Great BBQ. Usually not too busy, with very friendly service.

Food is delicious. Not the absolute best BBQ I've had but for the area it's amazing. I only deducted one star because of the size of the restaurant. It's very small and when my wife and I went the place was so packed that we ended up taking our food to go and eating at the park down the street.

First time there. They had a Taco Thursday sign up was told it was 3 tacos and you could have cole slaw on it too, fries or corn bread. Thought if it was a special it would be worth a try.
3 small soft tacos with 1 slice of meat with cole slaw. Good portion of corn bread and fries on the side.
Not a whole lot of food for $10.95 Especially for a Taco Thursday special.
If you have a special shouldn t it be special.
Won t be back mainly because not enough bang for the buck. Too much competition to take a chance on small portions. Had a big sign though

Absolutely amazing food, went for breakfast with my wife and we got the Hawgachanga. Changed my life, it is so good. And all the food I've had from there has been incredible. Haven't gone for anything but breakfast but I'm definitely looking forward to lunch or dinner. The service is great too, they're all super friendly and quick. Great at making suggestions too.

The pork was good portions were smalllike the price get what you pay for good family oriented place with a cozy feel

Pork is very good. One of the better spots in town for BBQ. Very pricey however.

I enjoyed the two meat combo. Three spare ribs, pulled pork, with a side of baked beans. Plus they included a corn bread that melts in your mouth. For $2.49 I added a side of potato salad. I ended up taking some of the pulled pork home. There was a lot of food.

Right off the bat we were told they were out of corn bread and pig treats. After ordering we waited 30 min for our food. It came out soggy. However the brisket was amazing!!! I'm a Texas girl and was really impressed with the brisket. We also tried their pork and chicken. The chicken wasn't good at all no flavor we had to douse it in their sauce. And the pork was decent.

Dang these folks make good ribs! Smoked very well, easily come off the bone, great flavor, and (usually) not fatty. The sandwiches are excellent too. But you know what's a really good bonus - their fries! Very tasty! And the whole crew is friendly.

There usually is a line starting at 11:30 am. on weekdays.

Best BBQ around Idaho Falls. They serve up delicious food and plenty of it for your money !

D'licious! We tried the brisket, pulled pork and the ribs. I loved the ribs! That is saying a lot because I smoke my own ribs and cook alot myself. I go out to eat only when I need a break or want to eat something better than I can cook.

I am so impressed. The best bbq around and I know bbq. Will be back soon!

Out of mac n cheese for 3rd visit in a row. Burger was burnt to a crisp. Awful. Trash overflowing, customers leaving trash around. Forgot some of our food. Had to wait forever.

Wow, you have to go on Saturday s when they have Burnt End Platters! Delicious! Best eaten as served, without the many different sauces at the table. Don t mess with perfection.

Portions are INSANE and DELICIOUS! Pitmaster's BBQers got their technique down to a science. A++ dinning.

Pit Master catered our open house and did a GREAT job! I had lots of compliments all evening long about how good the food was. I would definitely use them again!

I was born and raised in Texas and I love BBQ so I have tried a lot of BBQ. It's the best place in east Idaho for BBQ but not as good as the real thing. The problem is the pricing. It's so expensive to eat there. Especially considering what it costs for the real BBQ in Texas. We don't eat there anymore because it costs so much to eat and the location is poor as well. All in all it's decent BBQ but they really need to drop their prices and I'm sure they'll get more customers.

It's good and prices are ok. Sauces ok but not my favorite. My cousin liked sauces. Quality of meat was good.

Well, if you want great BBQ in the southeastern Idaho area, this is the place to beat. We love it here. They do a good job with their brisket, which is how we tend to judge the quality of a BBQ place. The only thing I wish they had was sweet potato fries! Alas, I know I am in Idaho.

Small seating area. Service was good but slow. We were there during a lunch rush. I had a burger and fries and was very satisfied. My daughter had ribs and brisket. She said the brisket was good but not great but she loved the ribs. Just crispy enough but not overdone. I really like onion rings and these had a bit too much batter but we're decent. I'd go back!

So as I said I am a visitor and look for good food here in IF. Pitmaster does a good job. While the brisket was moist and had smoke in the flavor there was no BBQ ring/pink. That could be because it had sat but that did not take flavor away from it. Oft times Brisket can become dry and this was not the case. The ribs also lacked the pink smoke barrier but they were very fall off the bone tender. Not fall off at the sight of approaching teeth but tender in a way that you didn't pull the whole of the meat off in one bite. You had to earn the meat, and not in a bad way, once you went in for the rib it was easy to get all of the meat. THey were a bit too salty for my liking but definitely good. They ran out of their Smokey Mac n Cheese which was honestly the whole reason I made the drive across town for the BBQ, so i got some fries which were reminiscent of good guys...and they were good. But if the stuff is that good and they make it fresh, you will have a good side running out by the end of the night and I will just have to go back and get some more of this good BBQ.
All around good. Next time I will go back and eat there...maybe they won't forget my cornbread.

It's more than just BBQ! I'm not a huge beef and pork eater so I was thrilled to find alternatives that still maintain the BBQ vibe. The cue-sadilla, the Baxter with chicken and the salad with chicken are some of my faves. Sides are amazing (green beans especially) and cornbread is heavenly. They make fresh desserts every day (chocolate chip cookies are my favorite) that are delicious and their hot cocoa, (yes, I said "hot cocoa") is worth its weight in gold. My family loves the pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, burnt ends and ribs. You can't beat the kindness of the front end help, seriously the nicest ladies in town. So worth the stop whether you're traveling through or a local. Hurry on over! And they have two locations in Idaho Falls now!

Great food! Everything I have had here has been wonderful. Would recommend the slider sampler to be able to try multiple meats.
