Went there for my boyfriend s birthday party~ it was perfect! Nice cocktails selections, good Gin & Tonic with cucumber in it to keep it fresh. Garden of Zen was super summery. Definitely recommend the sharing steak platter, the bruschetta and the pasta!

Perfect Sunday evening! Tried most of the new dishes recently added to the menu. Steak tartar, veal milanese and the chicken/foie gras pasta were the biggest highlights 11/10. All other dishes were perfect 10/10. The team did a great job in explaining all the dishes. Overall a great experience!
Food is very nice but the atmosphere is fair only during lunch. Too crowded and narrow area for the table near lifts. Price may be reasonable as it is Hong Kong. Italy ham is well. Vegetable/ salad are fresh. Main course and dessert are very nice.
I got myself persuaded to go to this place with Italian cuisine. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I find it more suitable for drinks than for food. Value for money negative price.
It's not a bad restaurant by any means. However the products t differentiation from Pici (own by the same group) is minimal. Don't get me wrong, I loved my experience here. The food is amazing and everything is great. But I'd choose Pici any day over Pirata. It's cheaper and I get 90% if the selection with the same level of quality.

Finally visited Pirata in Wanchai last weekend for their Restaurant Week Spring 2021 s menu! For starters, highly recommend their Vitello Tonnato - one of the Italian classics, the sliced veal goes so well with the creamy tuna sauce! Really worth a try. While the Tomato Carpaccio is more refreshing, but flavour wise it s not too surprising.
Plus, each table also got a small basket of sourdough bread together with some cold cuts.
Ordered their signature Butcher s Cut, and it really lived up to the hype! This Butcher s Cuts - this flank steak had a chewier texture than rib-eye, and tasted a lot meatier and still rich in flavour with minimal seasoning.
End the meal with a sweet note - panna cotta: a creamy quite sweet but had a smooth texture, the raspberry sauce on top was so good! tiramisu: it was okay but not a wow , the inside was not moist enough while the espresso flavour could be more prominent.
Overall, for food and service, a great place for casual Italian dining or even celebrations. (you may get a polaroid and coupon as a gift!) Will surely revisit.
Disappointed dinner with tasteless & tiny seafood. We had octopus salad, mussels & red prawn pasta. First the octopus was tasteless and we could only taste the olive. Second the mussels are tiny and the sauce was not that delicious. Finally the so-called prawn was the tiniest shrimp I ve ever tasted! Overall it s very much overpriced based on the quality of the food! I won t go back!!
I experienced the unusual Pirata Group's hospitality on my first visit at the Pirata, not sure because the day I visit was clashed with the HK restaurant week event period or it was just overwhelmingly crowded.
My situation here was: - not a first timer customer to Pirata Group's restaurants - already booked a table at 7.30pm at Pirata - not joining the HK restaurant event thingy, we order the usual a la carte dishes
My friends and I were studying the food and drinks menu but we were being pushed to order drinks (and food) soon. Ermm .. can we have few minutes to study your food and drinks list, please? There were plenty of choices and we would like to order what we wants based on our mood.
Apparently, they have the tasting menu but it was offered after my friends and I decided what to order (after gone through wide page of food list and pages of drinks list). This is so unusual practice in Pirata Group's restaurants.
The appetisers were great but this part that made me disappointed the most: the pasta. We ordered Pappardelle with beef cheek ragu and Orrechiette with sausage and N'duja and expected that the taste and quality will be breathtaking or at least as same as PICI's but then ... the pasta turned out to be UNDERCOOKED! When I cut the pappardelle, I still could see the raw dough part at the centre and the orrechiette was not chewy; it was so hard. I didn't finish the pasta. #UnintentionaFoodWaste
Disappointed with the pasta, we thought having the desserts will cheer us up. We saw this rolled up thin waffle and filled with chocolate and vanilla cream since we were seated. We asked for dessert menu and were informed that all desserts are sold out except the Valhorna chocolate cake by one of the staff. I felt sad for a while and wondered maybe that was for the HK restaurant event's dinner set but we gave a shot and questioned other staff whether the rolled up waffle dessert is out of stock - because we would like to order and try. Apparently, it was seasonal dessert and we could order it. Again, we were not introduced about this seasonal dish.
Why? What happened? I hope Pirata's management can do better in the future.
Compact and bijou, surprisingly pleasant, great food, good service (mostly), and interesting views of Wanchai. The Pirata Group really do provide for all, never disappointing, always enjoyable... when everyone finishes all that's on the plate, you know it's good !
We were a table for 5 people. Sat at a table with high bar chairs which I do not prefer as difficult to move in and out of, plus I was at the end of the table and this was access area to the lift for customers to come in and out, I was asked by a rather large customer if I would not mind making room for him to exit the restaurant as my chair was blocking some what. Other than that sharing food was great as none of us were hugely hungry. We started with a bottle of White and table bread, then the meat balls arrived which were delicious, large, juicy and an awesome sauce with it. Eggplant Lasagna came next which was also very well made and tasty. The Roasted Suckling Pig came with an apple sauce on the side, delicious, my favourite. Spinach salad with tomatoes was our veggies. Definitely worth a visit and 2 floors available for dining, with a well stocked bar on the 30th floor with dining too. Staff were very attentive and trying hard to please us. Will definitely return.
Rushed into finishing meal to make place for next batch of customers, waiters making faces , grabbing your money and tell you to get out basically atmosphere 0
Friendly bar with great design. The bartender, a nice young man from Nepal, made a mean whisky cocktail with thyme and roasted orange (but i think the name should be changed!) Had the off the land taster menu which is meant for two, but they arranged a version for a solo traveller which was plentiful. The linguini with truffles was perfect, the signature MMM made me crave for more, cheese and cold cuts etc, but the butchers cut was a too salty and not well presented (sorry guys, you lost a star there). Dessert and wines were impeccable. In all, a place i can indeed recommend or return to.
I think i would rather paid another $100 more and enjoy the cova or green at hotel icon brunches more. The dining area is way more comfortably seated, and a load more buffet style appetizers. Staff are a bit sluggish and the food experience was so so. Nothing overly negative but nothing memorable. I dont really have much to complain about my lamb shank main course, but the lasagne my cousin got was too salty. A shared glass jar tiramsu isnt a good way to finish a meal in my opinion. A lot of restaurants tend to forget that's the last thing guests enjoy and associate with first. I just remember 2 people having to dig into a glass jug for tiramisu, which is kind of cheap, and wonder what happens to tables of 3s.
Have only been here for their weekend brunch but thought the food was pretty good. They have a good spread of cold cuts, cheeses and salads up at the bar that you can help yourself to. You pick your own main and will get some starters for the table.
For the starters, I thought the veal and the meatballs were very tasty but was indifferent to the flan. As for the mains, the pasta was well made but I found the duck a bit too dry. I ended up leaving a lot of meat on the plate because my jaw was tired of chewing. Someone else at my table ordered spring chicken which took arrived about 20 minutes after everyone else's food which was frustrating for us to watch.
Overall, the food is maybe only average but I did enjoy this place as it's reasonably priced for a western style brunch and the environment is nice. I would come back to try the rest of their food.
The origin of the Pirata Group restaurants, Pirata never disappoints for a reasonably priced Italian meal. Boozy brunch is highly recommended for good value!
Super good Went for restaurant week Great service Great food Excellent cocktails (try the Havana Old Fashioned) Good decor and atmosphere and excellent views
I was very pleased with the food. I had the vongole pasta and it was tasty and the portion was good. The decoration is classy. A lot of expats on the night I was there.
I've been to pirata for a birthday lunch and it was awesome. The place is really nice and they have a rooftop with an amazing view. Food is legit Italian food and their package with free flow included is very attractive. On a side note, the staff is very friendly and nice, would've almost wanted them to join me and my friends for lunch
We tried a lot Burrata cheese in Hong Kong but this pic s is best one!! the appetizer it s mixed seafood & potato is nice. The mood is also great. We can use this restaurant any situations.
Buffet and place was acceptable but the main dish (lasagna) was very stodgy. The dessert was to be shared. Sorry, i don t pay 300HKD to have a dessert for two.
Lovely to not be in Lan Kwai Fong or mid levels or TST. Really loved the home cooking of this place and family style servings. Eggplant is awesome and reminds me of my brother-in-laws mothers cooking. Steak with rocket delish.
Just looking at this parmigiana makes me happy. Great brunch food cooked in a home style fashion, couldn't ask for more when home sick. You can do free flow for 180 extra, prosecco is DOGC (best quality).
