Very nice setting and decos at the 30 floor, high ceiling and big glass panels providing the open views on the surroundings, if you are the Italian foods lover that is the right place for you.
Decent food, but extremely noisy. if you are looking for a laid back brunch experience, this is not the place . Not family friendly
Went to Pirata for dinner in the middle of December. Booked table for 630pm, and arrived a little early - the service started at 630 so we were to wait at the bar until the service started. This was a little awkward to be honest and maybe starting at 6pm would have been better...or allowing us to sit at our table would have been good.
There were a lot of large groups having christmas parties so it was busy but the food was swift and good. We had a couple of starters and had a main each. 4 of us shared 3 desserts and a bottle of wine. HKD1500 total which I thought was fair. Will return.
Wan Chai Italian cuisine Pirata is a restaurant under the pirata group. It is the same group as pici, the optimist, and honjo~ The restaurant has two floors. The 30th floor has an open view and floor-to-ceiling glass. The space is full of natural light. They are quite spacious and comfortable.
Celebrating birthdays with friends is a good choice. When serving desserts, three or four staff will sing birthday songs together. It s so atmospheric and the scene is so embarrassing~ After the birthday star has a candle blown, there will be a Zhang Yiying with the same HKD100 coupon! (Applicable to restaurants under the pirata group) The same treatment was given to pici celebrations before! I think the restaurants of the pirata group will be treated well when celebrating birthdays?!
This time coincides with Restaurant Week! (You only need to use the diningcity_hong_kong app to book a place, and then use your HSBC credit card to pay, you can enjoy a discounted price
Although Restaurant week is over, but there is Restaurant week winners edition in Yijia! Pirata was selected as one of the fifty restaurants, so there will be a tasting menu until May 2nd!
HK Restaurant Week Spring 2021
3-course Lunch Set $198
(1 each from Starters, Main courses & Desserts)

Burrata cheese has a very rich milk flavor! It's so soft and sticky that it's just right. Milky flavor can be said to be the heaviest I have eaten with a friend~ The bottom is covered with fresh rocket dishes, which is slightly too heavy for the salt. There are tomato aberdeen and carasau bread next to it. The carasau bread is crispy, but it feels like a little damp.
Thinly sliced roast beef. The meat is very soft. Although it doesn t taste like beef, when it comes to creamy tuna and anchovy mayonnaise, the taste is quite correct. You can eat one of the sauce~
In addition to the starters of your choice, the restaurant will present bread baskets and cold cuts.
Pecorino x lemon zest's ravioli comes on stage with super bergamot flavor! Ravioli wraps the melted left pecorino, this goat's milk cheese is too salty! Fortunately, lemon zest adds a hint of lemon fragrance to the heavy-flavored ravioli. However, I personally feel that it is a bit salty, and the skin of ravioli is slightly hard.

Very attractive! Black truffle and Pecorino Romano goat milk cheese ended up generously! The food is more pleasant than expected~ Cacio e Pepe, actually refers to cheese n pepper. The taste of cheese is so strong when it becomes a pasta, the black truffle tastes more sudden than expected. You should not stop the fresh black truffle slices on the noodles~ Paccheri Paccheri tube noodles super-hanging sauce! The dough is slightly hard and lacks elasticity.
The taste is not much different from that in pici~ mascarpone cheese is very soft and smooth, and the lady fingers are soaked softly into a cake texture, the coffee taste is sweet and sweet, and the wine taste is light. But I personally prefer a lot of tiramisu, which has a strong taste for adults.
The panna cotta is so slippery! Rich milk fragrance! The homemade raspberry coulis for a few personal pasta heads has a good fragrant berry taste, high acidity and low sweetness, without artificiality. However, I think the custard can be served separately from the sauce, because too much raspberry coulis in the noodles will overwhelm the milky aroma.
Generally speaking, the taste of each dish is correct, the environment is spacious and comfortable, and there are many foreigners to eat, and there is a good atmosphere~ I recommend everyone to celebrate their birthdays, especially favorite restaurants will send pictures immediately, and keep them as a commemoration. Not bad. The price of the restaurant week lunch set is actually far from usual. This time I am doing the Butcher s cut. I know that I was for two, but I was afraid that I would not be full and give up. I have to take the other two mains. Everyone who wants to eat Butcher s cut should pay attention to it~
went there for saturday brunch and it was amazing! great cold cuts selection + succulent lamb shank main for a super reasonable price
only gripe is that we waited an hour for our starters, but other than that id 10/10 recommend
Average. Perhaps it wasn't wise to go just a couple of months after visiting sicily. The arancini were very underwhelming, and not authentic. Pasta was ok.
Visited on a Saturday for lunch and we ran into a large party at the restaurant. They were so loud that I wanted to leave. We ordered a medium rare steak and we ve got rare instead. Service was good tho.
One of the best staff in HK. Food was really good also
They really looked after us for Frunch. A lot of fun and unbelievable value for money.
Really excellent at accommodating for gluten free diet & really great free flow
Extremely disappointed... from starter to main nothing was good. No taste and too much salt.
When you enter Pirata, you step out of busy Hong Kong and are transported into a fun and lively restaurant. We came for dinner with no reservations and the wait was about 45 minutes long. Gil, one of the managers at Pirata, proposed that we can wait downstairs at their Spanish restaurant which he personally walked us to. We were well taken care of and within 30 minutes, a table was available for us. We went back upstairs and were sat at a corner table with a wonderful view. Gil walked us through the menu and suggested his favorites, which include the vitello tonato, tagliatelle with black truffles, orecchiette with sausage, and tiramisu. He has such a wonderful sense of humor and personality which made the whole experience so genuine and heart warming. Everything tasted "honest" as that is their philosophy. Italians would rather eat at home than eat out as a restaurant as it's hard to beat a home cooked meal. Here at Pirata, their ingredients are fresh, the meals are simple, and are true to Italian cuisine. I really feel the passion the staff have for the food and it tastes like someone prepared it with a lot of love. The food is incredible but the hospitality that Gil and his team showed to us really elevated the dining experience and have forever will have a special place in our hearts.
I told my boyfriend that we no longer have to visit Italy for some authentic Italian food anymore. You just need to show up at Pirata.
Nice place with good view good service. We both love the seared scallop is sooooo delicious!!! And one of my favorite is tagliatelle truffle, they just make it perfectly al dente. Love this!
Great views and a yummy Sunday Brunch. Check out the rooftop too
We had a fabulous time and the service was great. Food was beautifully presented. The new dishes are top class. Thanks to the Manager Dani for his service at the table with the trolley: the Sea Bass and Fiorentina Steak are a wonderful experience! Thanks again!
Very suitable for friends and family gatherings. The portion is quite large. But the food tastes not so outstanding. Drinking is good.
Great atmosphere, good mix of local and expat crowd. Food is tasty, rich in flavor and the staffs are friendly. Rooftop bar is so-so, essentially the view covered by artificial plants at eye level, and basic furnishing.
Highlight of the place the staff that were very helpful and engaging however food was a let down and for such expensive pricing you expect better. Bread basket of this quality to start your dinner is a bit of an insult to the Italian culinary heritage and I m sure is not a good start to have a meal. Rest of the food nothing memorable except the expensive bill! Ambiance is very nice with great views but its been a long time since i eat buildings around a view meaning if Pirata fixes the food would be a great venue for me.
Excellent Italian food, attentive service and very nice ambience. Fairly reasonably priced compared to the hotel restaurants we visited during our stay. Lasagne was delicious and a very large portion.
Top floor and top class Italian fare with impeccable service, truly.
Exceptional food. The ham and cheese antipasto buffet are of good quality and I can't help but keep eating. When the hot dishes come they are all so good too. Every time I went I would end up overeat because everything is so good!
Five-star food, three-star price
Always ask yourself after eating
How many restaurants are better or better than this
And many of them only need 200 heads
Every dish, every snack, every dessert
Tomatoes, melons, potatoes, broccoli, cooked vegetables, meatballs, steak, and dessert jelly all shocked the taste buds and made them laugh.
The first time in a long while restaurants are open for dinner and we chose Pirata as we missed Italian food. We had the six-choices meat and cheese board - it was very sumptuous. The bistecca was excellent and it was tender enough that we didn t need a steak knife. If you can t finish a bottle, go for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano by glass. It s lovely, and so are the people who served us. I would love to go back.
came here for my birthday dinner and i had a really wonderful time! my friends and i really enjoyed the seabass carpaccio, the flank steak and the tagliatelle with black truffle, but honestly every dish was excellent. really appreciated the service too! the restaurant took a lovely polaroid shot for my friends and i to commemorate my bday , and was really kind to us even though we over-extended our stay since we were supposed to give back the table at 8:30. all in all, a really great experience and im definitely going to be coming back and recommending my friends to do so too!
fyi there is also no service charge and i didnt realise that until i left! just a note so others wont forget to tip like i did X___X
This is the best high-end western restaurant I have eaten. The truffle soup in the appetizer is very good, the best soup I have ever drunk, and the truffle spaghetti in the main dish is also very good. The noodles don t seem to be juicy when they come out of noodles, but every noodle has juice on it. Then, for desserts, I m left with puddings. The puddings melt in the mouth and have a strong milk flavor. The sweet and sour sauce on the top is very good with the pudding. The attitude of the service staff is very good, which is relatively average compared to other high-end western restaurants. This restaurant is the first restaurant I want to comment on, I wish the restaurant business is prosperous
The service is good and the staff is attentive. The seats are spacious, but the food is average. (I'm here for lunch. The dessert tiramisu turned yellow, which is a bit wonderful) The Spanish food of the same group downstairs is more delicious. (But I have only eaten dinner)
The new menu is spectacular! We had the Truffle Caesar Salad, vitello tonato, Beef Tartare with Nduja and burrata, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and Lamb Chops!
Service was amazing and as always, the views are breathtaking and the vibes are immaculate!
great italian restaurant manage by manual and joanna a great small breton to recommend
it was my first time visiting the pirata restaurant and i was not disappointed at all. my partner and i tried the chef s tasting menu and every dish was fantastic. even the starters were flavorful and it made my tummy so happy. we left the restaurant feeling so satisfied. what s even more great is the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff s service, especially our server Kala. she was amazing, always checked up on us and made sure everything was perfect. she made our night even more special. thank u guys so much! will definitely come back again.
Reservations are required at lunchtime. Dishes are the most ordinary-nothing special for such a price
Expensive and busy Italian restaurant. food is ok but certainly not worth the price.
Food is very average but lunch semi buffet is a good value
Pirata restaurant is very nice and the food exceeded my expectations. The staff is very professional and very friendly at the same time. All I can say is that I felt very well and I will certainly return again!
Nice Italian place with good food - the service is hit and miss.
Atmosphere was good. Staff were friendly and nice. However food were soso, price a bit expensive for lunch. Ordered set lunch with buffet bar. Not valuable.
24 month aged burrata was delicious. Great ambiance and view of city from 30th floor. Waiting staff recommended excellent red Amarone Valpolicella. Highly recommended.
Very nice early dinner last Saturday. Service, food and ambiance all great. Will return.
Had Sunday afternoon set, food was so delicious. Must try cold cut with cheese, fried calamari very tender and truffle tagliatelle. Atmosphere and service exceptional. Can t wait to go back again.
Average. Chicken meat was dry and chewy. Tagliatelle was served lukewarm
The food is tasty and very fresh. The pasta is freshly made and there is a wide selection from appetisers to mains to choose from. There is a great view as the restaurant is on the 30F of the building and there is an extensive Martini collection at the bar.
It's a sad day when I feel the need at the end of a night to leave a 1 star review. Even sadder when I wish I could leave a zero star review.
Yes I am aware that being vegan is my choice and that it's inconvenient for you but Im still a paying customer and I still need my food to have some basic flavour and provide some basic nourishment. Us inconvenient vegans were served Bread, followed by tomato pasta, followed by sliced apple for desert and charged 400 dollars,(before drinks) it really is shameful... Our non vegan friends whilst given a few more options were also less than impressed.
The food was awful, the service whilst clearly partially caused by being short staffed was well below par and all in all I had one of the worst meals out iv had in a while.
I used to come here quite often for lunches with colleagues and clients... No more. Avoid.
Good food in HK is a dime a dozen, but good service is a a real gem. From the receptionist to the floor staff, service was on par to that of a respectable hotel restaurant. We ordered the tasting menu (for 2) and they were very accommodating in offering half portions of certain items as we were a party of 3. Got to sample a greater variety of mains (steak as well as sea bass) as a result. Needless to say the food was good (a smidge on the salty side for certain dishes but that's a personal preference), atmosphere was cosy but not too loud, tables were not too crowded...I would recommend this to any fans of casual Italian fare.
The food quality and taste are very good, the environment is comfortable, the service is good, but the price is too high, the amount is small, pay attention to
Excellent restaurant in Hong Kong. A little expensive but the value for money is correct. Remember to book.
Beautiful service. Although many items out if stock when we ordered at 8:15pm which was sad but the food was amazing, atmosphere and decor amazing, service amazing
Delicious Italian food, efficient service. Convenient too. After meal, I'd like to have foot and body treatment in Zenxes Foot Retreat in Happy Valley. To my surprise, I can meet so many foreigners enjoying Zenxes. Very elegant and professional. Enjoy it so much!
This is a classy place , nice food, great vibe, and good service. I feel they ha e a pulse on Hong Kong with their recent special
Nice service. But the food quality for the menu set is not very good. We ordered "From the Sea" tasting menu, and it contains around 5-6 courses. Yet every course contains tomatoes, which makes every course taste the same.
the restaurant is cozy and comfortable the wine is on the high price for a single glass of red wine but good the food is good rather bland for my taste the olive oil is of strong flavor on the salad
Excellent place. Great food, nice service and a stunning view.
Great lunch deal in Wan Chai, good vibes and the young crowd, combined with unlimited ham and cheese where can you find that?
Pirata provides a real Italian experience, awesome food from the starters to the desserts. Very attentive service too. Highly recommended!
good venue , very few choice for vegetarian, breads too hard to chew! good place for drinks
We had a ver nice dinner here. Considering that its HK, value for price is good! We ate quite a lot and the bill was like 550HKD/each.
The only thing we did not like were desserts. They were not at same quality as the food, which was awesome.
We had a 9 pm dinner reservation and weren't seated until 9:40 pm, although we enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar. The service staff seemed to want to do a good job once we were seated, but something seemed to be missing. It's as if they didn't have the capability to provide the service they'd like to provide. The food was excellent.
Good food especially pasta and cheese bar. Low ceiling makes it noisy.
Both their food and wine are good with nice ambience.
Outstanding gem hidden from plain sight, great food and outstanding atmosphere.
Good food, although service was slightly slow. Try the Burrata and Parma Ham.
The team from CPR Call Blocker highly recommend's this as the place to eat in Hong Kong!
The Chinese New Year is also crowded, and this Western restaurant is full of people, but all are foreigners
Pirata has great atmosphere and almost 360 views of wan chai from the top floor of its building.
I went for the weekend brunch buffet. I can very strongly recommend going for this! You get a buffet of antipasto they keep refilling so it's not laying around getting dry out stale. You also get several starters and a choice of mains
A cosy restaurant in the 30th floor of a building in Wan Chai. The cuisine is authentic Italian. We went for the weekend brunch. The service was attentive and the food was quite good.
Food was good, plenty of food per dish, staff was amazing, friendly and helpful
Was there for a Christmas lunch, seasoning a bit too salty for us, compared to Pici in Tsum Sha Tsui that is under the same group, service was great though
Fantastic Italian food with a great view from the 30th floor over Hong Kong.
Nice service, delicous food, great menu with traditional and modern dishes
Delicious lunch. I ate the "Butcher's Cut" for the main. Before that came out, there is an amazing spread for the self-serve salad bar. They also bring you a plate of meats & cheeses and bread with olive oil/balsamic.
Food is good... but for the prices you re paying the service left a lot to be desired. I suggest you pop over to there sister restaurant PICI instead, it s cheaper and service is better.
Service sometimes makes mistakes, but the food and drink selections are amazing and perfectly executed. Definitely worth a wait for seating or a refill.
The new a la carte menu by the Piedmontese duo of GM Daniel Piccoli and Head Chef Emanuel Canuto is a dream. Everyone wants to reinvent beef tartar because it s such a comfort staple; everyone has a strong opinion about it. Pitata s version is elevated, unpretentious and satisfying. The straciatella and walnuts are a delightful touch - I already miss. Possibly the best beef tartar in HK.
Spent an evening there for birthday celebration and it was fantastic. They serve authentic italian dishes, their black truffle tagliatelle is a must-try for truffle lovers. The restaurant is classy and cozy, staffs are welcoming and their services are great. They had some special arrangements for birthday celebrations, not much yet very heartwarming. We enjoyed our night there and we would definitely come back in the future.
Had my bday here a few days ago and my guests and myself had an excellent time. We all enjoyed the food and the free flow with brunch. We were well looked after and there wasn't one bad thing to say about the place. Will definitely be back here for food.
Good food, good service, very comfort atmosphere and good price
