Delicious Carmel Apples!
Challenging to get to but peaceful once you're all.ost there. They didn't have Haralsons in yet is the negative and it's confusing on where to go around in there. On the good side my 90 yr old Mom only goes there for the "best in the world" caramel apples and I supposed her with apple turnovers that were Heavenly!
This place is awesome! My family and I have been going there since I am but a wee lad. The apples are amazing, the apple donuts are spectacular and don't even get me started on how glorious the apple turnovers are! There is something magical about this place, and the people who work there.
Fresh food nice appmispeire
Great people and products are so yummy
Apples are so good - you can buy by the pound if a peck or a bushel is too much. They have an awesome assortment of other apple goods. I got some apple syrup! Can't wait to make pancakes. Must try one of the Carmel apples! There are plenty of picnic benches to relax with friends and family. Definitely a wonderful Fall adventure.
They've been doing apples for a long time and the baked goods are yummy.
Great business. Great family. Very charitable. They have sponsored the PTAT Classic (Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic) for many years. They rasie a lot of money and care about the charity and kids.
I would strongly encourage you to support their business.
Only place we stop to get apples. Sweet tango and McIntosh. The employees were and are always so helpful! They were out of McIntosh and checked to see if they could throw a bag of #2 apples together and did just that! Made our day!
SO CROWDED!!! The lines to get into the shop in the lines for the baked goods were just insane. Beautiful little stroll through their heavy-laden apple trees. There is no picking your own apples. The tasty apple turnovers singlehandedly saved this trip for me. I will definitely be going back when there's less people there so I can get a little fuller experience.
Family friendly awesome apples and enjoyed there bakery items...
1st time at an apple orchard and I'm glad this was the place! It's so beautiful in that part of the St. Paul area Even just the drive there along the winding roads is a breath of fresh air from the city life Its right next to a lake and some train tracks which gives it a nostalgic feel The fall colors were really popping when we went a few weeks ago The place was full of happy families There was so much to do on many many acres The hayride was informative and fun At 1 point you are at the highest point in the county ( I think that's what our guide said) and that view is camera worthy. The corn maze was surprisingly MUCH larger than it looked from the outside Most impressive was the store There was so much to see and eat LoL it had a great feel too it. My mother in law spoiled us with all kind of goodies : pie, cookies, donuts, breads, honey and of course APPLES! There were some historic touches here and there which I love stuff like that and every single employee was super friendly It felt like a family owned company should feel My kids (teenagers) LOVED it and we would definitely go back again. 1 caution ( go early!) We left about noon and the place was getting too packed to enjoy The line of cars went for miles and miles down the windy road that leads up to it
Awesome place. We ended up getting more stuff than we went there for, all great qaulity and cheaper than expected too. We purchased the sweet tango apples, strawberry rhubarb jam, pumpkin pie pancake mix, and some sneaker doodle cookies.
Best place to buy apples and all things made with apples! Great bread!
The colors were beautiful when we visited. We got apple donuts and cider - delicious! Lots of goodies you can buy for good prices. The pumpkin/gourd prices were a little higher than other places you can buy them though.
If you want to get or spread Covid 19, than this is the place to be!
Very busy, but all the baked goods make it worth waiting in the long lines. The hayride was closed but they opened up the trail for walking. Love the quiet and the views.
Pro Tip: Go late in the day, easier parking, quick in and out.
The donuts don't seem to be as apple-y as in years past, tiny disappointment. Or maybe undiagnosed asymptomatic Covid just has me not tasting them?
Was also a bit disappointed that the sorting machine wasn't working. There is just something mesmerizing about watching semi primitive technology in a mirror.
Love this place and the prices for their products are fair compared to some other orchards.
It's a nice drive out there, down 61 then 96 and around whitebear lake. Went with a friend on a pretty sunny morning. Weekends get crowded quickly so earlier is better. Great selection of apples and baked goods to die for. We went with a list of requests from friends and family. The treats we arrived home with were a definite hit. Thank you Pine Tree.
Amazing fresh baked apple pie, large outdoor picnic area, friendly staff.
Other orchards take notes!
It s a real great orchard to go to if you only want a photo op of going to an orchard. No picking your own apples. The hay ride involves no hay and the entire place is overcrowded. If going to lake Calhoun is your definition of going to the lake than this is the orchard for you; any individuals more familiar with life outside the city will be disappointed by this over commercialized joke of an orchard.
This is an excellent place to bring the date or kids. There are hay rides, and so many evens for the kids.
You need to check out the corn maze! Guaranteed fun for ages!
During October there is a pumpkin patch, however prices are very high.
I did knock off a star, should be 2 for outrageous their prices are for apples... There is no way a bucket of apples cost $20 no way! I have walked around the apple orchard and there are apples all over the ground going to waste. I would gladly take them and eat them myself or bring them to a food shelter.
However over all a great place for the family
My go to place! The apples are super fresh and they make the most yummy apple rollovers.
Update 9-24-2020 I had to drop it from 5 stars to 3. They changed the apple rollover recipe and me (and my family) don't like them anymore.
I love going to the orchards it's always fresh smelling and fun!!!
This orchard has some of my favorite views. Doesn't have pick-your-own apples, but make sure to take the hay ride!
Best apple orchard in The Twin Cities, not even close. Apple rollovers are awesome.
Nice orchard. No self picking. The corn maze needs to be cleared someone could break an ankle. Overall ok.
also features a corn orchard and a pumpkin orchard. you're really getting more than you thought
Food is great! Fabulous deserts. Great place to take kids in summer and fall.
Creative corn maze, quality pumpkin patch and delicious variety of baked goods in the store. On Fall weekends, plan for a 15 min wait in traffic for the last 1.5 miles before you can park. As long as you're prepared for the wait, it's worth it.
Just a heads up you can't pick your own apples at this place... otherwise it was fine.
Come from Coon Rapids. Well worth the drive. Best strawberries in town. Thank you.... appreciate someone picking them for me.
They didn't have the hay ride so I got some apple pie
Love this place! Wonderful apples and baked goods in a beautiful setting. Well worth the trip!
Go here every year. Family tradition that will never change!
Just called the orchard because we are new to the area. I wanted to check and see if they allowed customers to pick apples. The lady who answered was SO RUDE that we decided to go somewhere else. Absolutely no customer service. Wow!
We were at the orchard on a great fall day. It was rather crowded with all the people that came out that day. The store was full of all kinds of goodies - Apple Donuts, apple jelly, apple butter, apple muffins. Apples! Towards the end of the afternoon, the line to get into the store was 45 minutes long or so. So we skipped that part. The line for tickets for the hayride was long also and it seemed to be constantly busy. There were a couple of paths through the apple trees so that people could go through and see the apples up close. Beyond that was the pumpkin patch which, by the time we got there, seemed to be fairly picked over. When we arrived there were people directing traffic which was very helpful and the sheriff's department was present to assist with people crossing the road and in controlling traffic for safety's sake. I would definitely go there again but I would try to avoid the crowds next time.
Always such a pleasure to visit Pine Tree Apple Orchard in the fall! Staff is friendly, the apples are delicious, and the events are interesting. This time the quilt display was most pleasing.
Nostalgia of a 30+ year apple eater. My fave in the twin cities; weekends are always super busy so do a week night. Imperfect weather also means faster parking. I enjoy all levels of quiet or chaos.... Pine Tree is the best.
No observed sanitizing practices in place. I asked if they had any hand sanitizer at the check out, and they looked around and found wipes. I had to wipe all the sharpie markers used by who knows how many people without any sanitizing in between people.
I grew up going to this orchard and it's been an annual tradition. I'm not impressed with their infection control protocols one bit.
We have gone every year as a family trip. My kids are all adults and we still make the trip together every year.
Family friendly with many activities and amazing baked goods. They don't have alot of apples to choose from at once, but their baked goods make up for that.
Real Apple Orchard. Apples, pumpkins, and wonderful baked goods.
A very cosy place to spend a day. And it's cafe is so tasty! Make sure to takes a tractor ride- it's short but picturesque
Nice family destination. Wonderful bakery, Apple picking, hay rides, and more.
Had fun with the grandkids, did wagon ride and picked their pumpkins. Grabbed some cider, donuts, and some jam. Beautiful day.
The best apple donuts! Get there early to make sure you get some. The location is beautiful and there is lots of parking. The hayride, pumpkin patch and corn maze make this a place you can spend the better part of a day exploring.
When we went it was strawberry season meaning there lots of things made with strawberries verses apples which alright with me yum strawberry doughnuts pie ,cake, strawberry cream pie you must try it
It was ok. Food and cider are great! Can not pick your own apples
I just called and the woman was very friendly. Besides not being able to pick apples I'm assuming based on other reviews that this is a great place on a lake with good food. I will head there tomorrow. Hopefully with a good experience to report.
Good fall food selection. Excellent grounds for pumkpin picking. So-so corn maze
This is White Bear Lakes prime destination for anything Apple.Apples, pies, pastries, cider, etc.
Its all there , and all delicious!
I love going here. Watching them sort the apples. I enjoy all of their bakery very very good!!!
I love the bakery! And they have a great variety of apples.
I've been coming here every year with my mom since I was a child. Absolutely love it! Their Blueberry Apple Pie is our favorite!
Apple Jack or MN Harvest are much better options!! If you like overcrowded apple orchards that don't let you pick your own apples, then Pine Tree is the place for you. They're open until 6pm but close the corn maze at 4pm, lame. Nobody is spending 2hrs in a corn maze!
Pine Tree also doesn't allow dogs. It's an outdoor farm people!!
Lastly the apple pie we ate tasted like soap or excessive cooking spray. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
Geat place to take the kids for hay rides..pick your own apples our buy the apples already bagged..Also enjoy a slice of pie with ice cream.
Picked up donuts yesterday for our family. Donuts were great- and the employees were even better. Amazing customer service- we will be back!
Facility was nice and in a beautiful setting. You get to see them processing apples.
WARNING: YOU CANNOT PICK YOUR OWN.
Coming here is always fun though it is a bit of a trek from the cities. I always get their cider and donuts, but their other pastries are good too. There's a lot of choices and plenty of parking.
It got a bit packed but the attractions were a lot of fun once you arrive. Super gorgeous land with very affordable fun including pony rides and super fun corn maze! Totally recommended for small group
