Really enjoyed this spot! It filled up quickly during lunch after we sat down and it seemed to be a popular spot. Seemed authentic and soooo reasonably priced! Great and filling lunch full of flavor. Their beef dishes are tender and they have a huge menu! Their spring rolls weren't my favorite but, they were good. Lots of mint flavor which I love and the shrimp appeared to taste fresh. Service could maybe be a bit better since we waiting 15 mins for the water we ordered but, that was fine. Most of it was a very pleasant experience. Large dining area and you can tell this would be great for large groups.

Phuong Trang is just one of many great spots to hit around Balboa (Kearny Mesa area)
Balboa area (aka Kearny Mesa) has a plethora of shopping, dining, and social spots you can indulge in. Pick any day of the week to enjoy an awesome variety of Asian groceries to a mixed bag of Asian accented foods and sweets!

The place had been loud each time I came here, just that kind of place but it didn't bother me. Great food, great place for family style dining. Lots of seating. Not sure about average wait times. First time I came was like 45 min, next time was less than 10.

Supposedly one of the better Asian restaurants located in the endless strip malls of suburban San Diego. I found the place perfectly inoffensive with perhaps my only issue was that my noodle bowl could have had a little more flavor. Still it's probably worth a visit if you have a hankering for Asian food in San Diego.

Came here with my family after a long day of exploring san diego. I got the house special broken rice and it was tasty. The eggloaf wasnt too salty. The porkchops were cooked nicely. The shrimp tofu was unfortunately very flat. I would have liked a side of soup to accompany my meal too.

Very good vegetarian menu options, best pho around, excellent crunch on the vegetarian egg rolls.

Service can get a bit slow during busy periods, but is worth it. Also highly recommend trying the lemonade!

The food is amazing, the service is... Like watching a three stooges episode. I mean, one waitress brought is the wrong appetizer, another came by looking for it, brought the real one, and this was AFTER our main course was on the table for like 10 minutes. This wasn't even the first time this has happened to us. Feels like every time there running behind or bringing us the wrong order. :/ Worth it when it gets there. But... whew, that wait. Ugh.

Sooooooooo good...yummy..!!!! A little bit of a wait but you won't regret it. Everyone is so helpful with their suggestions and choices. It's pretty big inside. The menu is great and if there is something you don't understand just ask. They serve beer, wine, Vietnamese ice tea with or without boba, hot tea, soft drinks. The parking area is not that large since there are other shops within the area which makes parking very hard. I don't recall seeing handicapped parking but do know the restaurant is handicapped accessible.... if you are near this restaurant and want a good experience stop in...and enjoy!!

A small order(3 pieces) of Fried egg roll as starter, a glass of Thai Iced tea with boba pearl, and a bowl of authentic combination beef Pho---bomb! I eat alone but still rocking it like everyone else with friends and family.
-Appertizer : Egg roll 10 out of 10 (it also serve with fresh lettuce, mint, and cilantro. Cooool )
-Drink: Thai Iced Tea 7 out of 10 (the tapioca pearl over cooked and the cream that mixed with the tea seems not really fresh, there are several white not dissolved creamy stuff floating on the top, I used to work in a boba place and this is definitely some issue about the cream or half & half they use.)
-Pho: Combination Beef pho 9 out 10 (-1 because of the broth was a little bit too salty)
-Service: 10 out of 10, I came during the peak time (Saturday night), all their staffs were performing efficiently, friendly, and most importantly they are very easy to approach.
-Cons: The parking is super limited!!!

Food is good, I like the Walnut shrimp. Very lively and it is usually very crowded, and you can be in and out quickly since they serve quickly.
Only con is that they have a hard time getting you a re-fill when you ask.

Used to love this great but place is going down hill. Slow service. Food is ok. We still go there due to the large menu. And it has stuff that I don't usually see at other vietnamese places.

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in SD! There's plenty of seating and there are a lot of choices on their menu. The large pho comes with a great serving of noodles and meat. The broth is very flavorful. There were plenty of noodles paired with shredded lettuce, mint, cucumbers, crushed peanuts & fish sauce. Overall, this is a great Vietnamese restaurant. The food is good, the service is quick, and the staff are friendly!

Best place in town for authentic Vietnamese cuisine! Love the lobster the way they prepare it and also the crab. Haven't really had a bad dish here... Beef noodle soup is always PHO-nomenal! Really awesome people run the place, too. They do a lot to help the community.

This place is huge. Good for large parties. Reasonable prices. I had never been here before and my experience during lunch on a Tuesday was awesome. I had the Bun Bo Hue, just the right amount of spicy. Noodles perfect, meat excellent and the fresh veggies were on point. I'd go back in a minute. Vietnamese coffee was excellent too. Cant wait to try their other dishes.

This is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. We have dined here over 5 times. I love the beef pho and broken rice with pork chop. The pork chop is super tender and flavorful. Prices are reasonable too

The menu was vast and I was unprepared for the onslaught of choices which caused a little trouble for the hangry version of me. Fortunately for me, great food prevailed and hangry me was put to rest for another day.

Phuong Trang had many good signs, from the people that eat there, the busy parking lot, and lots of smiles. I hope to return to try the rest.

First time coming to this place and it was pretty good. Im a huge PHO fan but decided to try the Curry Chicken lunch dish. It was good but lacking whole bodied flavors. We have the wings for an app, which we EXCELLENT. I will definitely be coming to back to try traditional PHO bowl.

Wow!!! Just called to make a reservation for 9 people for tomorrow evening, a woman answered the phone( I'm guessing in her 30's, with perfect English), was so RUDE ! I've asked for her name after I spoke to her, she got so defensive and said, " I'm not going to be here tomorrow, but You have a reservation already, but if u want... I can toss your appointment!" My gosh! Lighten up lady! Customer beware when u make a reservations! Maybe, this restaurant should invest to send their employees for " proper customer service"!

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Everything on their extensive menu is delicious. You'll keep coming back so you can work your way through the whole menu. Or bring a crowd of your friends so you can order a lot of different items and enjoy family style dining.

Food smells delicious after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order. I have seen people get seated and order after me but I sit here with my water writing this review. Not sure why but I feel extremely unwelcomed here as a casual parade of servers pass me with sideways glances observing my slowly dwindling water supply.

Will not eat here again or perhaps not even for a first time.

We had lunch today and ordered the crispy filet fish with black bean sauce and seafood crispy noodle. We have been here many times over the years and have been satisfied with their dishes. This is the first time we have been significantly disappointed with their dish. The pan fried noodle came cold and it wasn t crispy. It actually tasted stale. We told the waiter and he just shrugged his shoulders. We live in Rancho Bernardo so it is not close. It ll be a while until we come back again.

The place is always busy so give yourself some extra time for waiting. My family got there just at noon and we didn't have to wait. So that should give you an idea about the wait time. The food is fantastic! No fuss. Not complicated. Just good food. The service is decent. Not overly friendly but not rude either. I highly recommend this place if you're into Vietnamese food.

One of the best experiences I had with a Persian buffet! Really great price with a high quality! Tea is the best part after getting all bloated with the non stop eating! Persians please learn from the service they offer! This is how you should keep your business running!

This use to be the spot back in early 2000's and it's been awhile since I've been here especially with all the Vietnamese restaurants around San Diego. They accept reservations here since i had a family group of 30 people. The sign of the place is still the same but inside the restaurant surely has had a major upgrade from the carpet flooring from before and better tables. The menu is totally different from before much more fancier. I do remember that they had much more of a food selection on their menu compared to other places and it still shines here if you're looking for something different to try. This place back in the days had the salt n pepper calamari but sad to say it was not on the menu but my cousin said that their butter fried chicken wings are must try. Surely he was right it is, especially if you're a big fan of fried chicken. As for the pho it was okay, same ol same from what i remember. The broth is a sweet yet savory taste the noodles were okay and meat portions were mediocre. The fried egg rolls though are amazing. The service from our main waiter did a great job with my huge family. This place is great for hosting a big parties and that they have plenty of room and space to accommodate. For me the pho is "so-so" but their appetizers are the winners here.
