My absolute favorite Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. Will go there every time I can!

Great food and service! The garlic butter chicken wings are tasty. Their pho selection is great. I typically get the Tai Gau...so good for any day!

Pho is alright but the wings. You got to get the wings! Squeeze some lime on your wings and enjoy.

I recommend for real Vietnamese food ! Go there for early lunch

7. Course. Beef. This is why we come to this restaurant. To be honest, this place use to be a dump. There were insect crawling outside and inside your food at one point. That was over a decade ago. Now it seems they really cleaned the place up. I would definitely give this a try if you've never tried the 7 course beef before.

Food is great and so is the service!

This is the only Vietnamese restaurant I've ever seen that serves craft beer. I love San Diego. Oh and the food is legit, if you're hungry as hell get the 7 courses of beef.

Service was on point, and the food was pretty bomb. Not a huge pho fan, but definitely worth checking out if you have yet to.

Really tasty Vietnamese food. I can personally vouch for the pho, wonton soup, and broken rice dishes. They're all phenomenal. If you look around you can see people ordering nearly everything on the menu, so it must all be good!

A top place for quality vietnamese food. i've had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting.

From the perspective of a non-Viet who loves Viet cuisine, this place does not disappoint! You will be impressed right off the bat by the large selection of the menu of dishes, soups, and sweet drinks/deserts. Those of you looking for favorites should be able to find them here. All you need to know is that they have the holy grail - banh xeo. The food was excellent and even some nice presentation too!

I've been only for party trays for office potlucks. Their food is your typical Chinese/Vietnamese with nothing that really stands out. People rave about their garlic butter chicken wings, so I was excited to try them. I was disappointed after hearing all the hype. They didn't really have much flavor to them and had more batter than actual meat. I will give this place another chance and actually dine-in, but I'm not in a rush to go back.

I would like to say this place is the best Vietnam restaurant in San Diego area. However, the service is not good here.

If you have a big group I really recommend you try the catfish that you wrap in lettuce and dip in fish such. The chicken wings and egg rolls are also good.

The price lists are not up to date. Prices increased by 50% on all items.

I used to go to a Pho place near my house until I came across this place. Their broth is always on point. Nice and salty. I cannot stand a place with sweet broth. Their staff is great and service is great.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in San Diego...

Definitely a keeper for lunch and dinner while in this part of San Diego. Located just opposite to Costco. Parking can be an issue on those rush hours. Highly recommended the glazed chicken wings. Service could have been better.

Tasty, flavorful, delishish food! Broken rice, salads and wings are my favorite. I frequently call in the wings, pick up and take to bars and they are always a hit.

I still dont know why people still brag about this place, and am surprise how it survives all these years despite the facts of very poorly trained and crude customer sevice, and the food one-star. Probably it is the only place that caters vietnamese food in town and has no competition. Well, this was based on two isolated occasions and neither of which offered me a fair reason to come back.

Poor service. Food is just as good as anywhere else. Really not worth the aggravation.

I felt strange since I was guided in. Again the service was very unfriendly staff. And the menu was able to wait for more than 30 minutes to eat, and even noticed even a little more napkins and water. And I don't really like these stores that don't greet me when I'm out.

Fast Service. Great Quality. Good attitude Employee but when restaurant is busy you should check and remind them about your food for make sure they dont forget anything.
Recommend #2 : roll meals . That make them famous . It will display some roll meat, special sausage,fried fish,... You use slim rice paper to roll all of them with veggie , Viet pico and eat with Viet Sauce.
Healthy Orchestra in Your Mouth

Generous servings of delicious food. The layout makes the restaurant extremely noisy, however, and the last time I went here I got a pair of chopsticks with termite damage. I'd still recommend it though.

I've been coming here since I was a kid with of course my Vietnamese friend. I still come regularly but now with my family. So much variety and it is all great. Love the Wonton noodle soup, Vietnamese coffee, Pho, wraps, etc....

I will admit it was my first time having had Pho but it was delish!! Service was quick and efficient. There was about a 15 min wait on a Saturday night which isn't horrible and there was and good amount of people there the whole time.

I will go back for sure!

After now having tried MANY pho places in SD area, I have concluded that Phuong Trang is by far the most superior. It's all in the broth. It has the best flavor depth of what I can find. Just great.

A fav spot for quality vietnamese food. it's so savory. i will be back with my friends. it has a cool feel to it. food and atmosphere reminds me of kansas city.

This used to be my family type of restaurant if we want to eat out! Not anymore, the service is bad, very bad. Pay attention to the bill! They have the tendency to overcharge or charging things that you have never asked for.

Lawd Almighty. This place has my heart, now and always. We went for the first time this week. My partner is Vietnamese and was somewhat skeptical, but when the food came, he was converted, and I saw visions. Well, visions of lemongrass tofu, at least. The pho tai was likewise delicious. Get thee to Phuong Trang immediately. Order all the things. Get ready for the ensuing party in your mouth. All the dishes will RSVP yes. Point is, this may be the best thing that ever happened to you.

This rest is always crowded, particularly in the night. They have live seafood. Price is reasonable. Portion is fair.

The pho had a good beef broth and the beef melts in your mouth.

I and family and friends have eaten here for many years, but now less and less often. My wife and I have traveled throughout Vietnam and enjoyed many regional dishes. The food at Phuong Trang definitely has an American "touch", but I would not categorize it being just another Asian-American mall-style joint. However, what I do fault is not only the decreasing freshness and quality of the dishes. but also the declining service over the past 3-5 years. I think it is finally time to move on and investigate other Vietnamese restaurants in San Diego County.

If you love Vietnamese food, this is the place to go!

This food is not authentic, too much sugar and salt in the pho and fried spring rolls, the fish sauce dip was too sweet also and has a weird choice of ingredients for both the dip and spring rolls... The curry looked like it was from a cheap Chinese take out .... It was definitely not a traditional Vietnam recipe, not even recognizable as vietnamese. The pho is muddy looking and although it had a decent flavor and good cuts of meat , all together it wasn't THAT good.

Tri & Adam are the best waiters with excellent customer service skills. Most other staff is kind and professional but Adam & Tri confirm that you made a great decision to dine at Phuong Trang or even just for takeout, you will be treated well.

The food wasnt that bad. But the staff wasnt really friendly so it made all of our group feel very uncomfortable. They need more training before starting to work.

Good food. Good people. But service need many improvements.

Food is good but service sucks. You have to flag someone down for assistance. If you order a drink and they don't have it, they won't tell you they don't have it. We had to ask a 2nd person to finally get what we wanted. Service depends on who your flag down. The staff as a whole are not all attentative and does not check up on you frequently.

Updated: after eating here and there for more than a year now, I think it is safe to say this is THE best vietnam restaurant in area. Also it's got best chicken wing!!!!!

This is wonderful place since they upgrade the interior. I love there egg crepes and papaya shrimp salad!

Food was delivered quickly but for the evening food rush our service was not good. Our server rolled his eyes at us and did not make any attempt to welcome us.

This is my second time coming here and both times the same 2 girls were sorta snappy with me!

I waited 5 minutes before I was ever approached I flagged her down and explained I d been waiting to order and she replied I had other guests I needed to help.

I explained that was inappropriate. I don t know if there are realist or what but I was treated bad on arrival BOTH TIMES.

I have been recommending and going to Phuong Trang for years. I've tried other Vietnamese places, even pricier ones, and I always come back here.
