Very Delicious, great style. The customer service isn't that bad, actually they are great! The food.....DELICIOUS!! Opps I already mentioned that. But anyways it was perfect! I recommend everything. The food, the service and the looks! Go and you know you won't regret it. My stomach is like "Yum!"

Fantastic food. Indifferent service.

Everything I've tried here has been good. The rice paper wraps with chargrilled beef a particularly tasty. You wrap them yourself at the table which is great if you're a kid (I speak from experience, this place has been here for decades and for good reason). I assume this place is pretty authentic considering the demographics of the other patrons.

The waitstaff are all Vietnamese, I think, and most of those making rounds bringing out food or bussing tables speak little English. Those that take your order do speak English, but they do not come by very often, if at all, to check on you. If you need something, you'll need to flag someone down. If you like being left alone, this is probably a positive. If you prefer a more attentive server, you probably won't like it here.

Where have I been??? Under a rock for some reason, cuz I never knew this place existed! Went here for dinner with a friend, due to his recommendation. So glad he brought me here. Best Pho I've had, hands down! The chicken egg rolls are bomb as well. Eat them wrapped in the acoutrements and it's an amazing culinary experience! Can't wait to go back here!

Great food with generous portions! Even though it was busy we were served quickly by great staff. We ordered egg rolls, lemongrass tofu, pho tai, lemongrass beef and charbroiled beef with steamed rice. Definitely recommend eating here.

i wish i could give it 0 stars my experience was horrible. we sat there waiting for an hour just to get the wrong food and then to me missing some items. we had ordered something to go and then we re waiting for another 40 minutes when they never told us that the food was sitting there, they did not tell us when we ordered that we needed to go up and get it. the food wasn t even that good and didn t have much taste. waste of money.

Have loved going to Phuong Trang for many years. Every single time it was a great anticipation to dine there with friends and family. They have awesome food and very fair price but the service lacked way behind. Once it got worse than many other times I brought that up to the manager who is actually the bosses daughter, I was totally flabbergasted when she replied.....then don't leave tip! Wrong answer, lady. This is San Diego, USA not the Hanoi, Vietnam. Sorry but I won't be there anymore.

Very popular Vietnamese restaurant with many locals. I had the Bun Bo Hue, which was excellent - just the right amount of spice. The Goi Cuon were very fresh and very good as well. Service was good.

We love Phuong Trang. Great food, great service.

We love Phuong Trang. Great food, great service.
The family that runs this place is awesome. They are very attentive and have a happy and nice staff.
We love to bring a group and get the catfish dinner where a whole fish is brought out and you make your own rolls with rice wraps, veggies, and their yummy sauce.
They carry some good beers too like Ballast Point Sculpin.
Fridays and Saturdays are quite busy, so get here early or be prepared to wait.

Wide variety of Vietnamese cuisine. From Pho to whole fish and everything in between. Very reasonable prices and good quality too! Can get very busy, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Can also be quite loud inside as this is a family restaurant and they have some large tables for parties of 10 or more. Still, it's a favorite for us.

Very comfy setting in Convoy. It is authentic Vietnamese but very inclusive to others who come.

Very fair in pricing and great dishes. Highly recommend their fish sauce fried chicken wings.

This place is usually crazy packed but we went after the lunch rush so it was quiet and comfortable. I ordered the kung pow beef dinner and man was that a generous size dish of food. It was perfect and just the right amount of spice. We also got some egg rolls and shrimp rice paper rolls and not only were we stuffed but very pleased. I will definitely be back.

Very poor service. Sat down, ordered, waited, no water came, had to request a few times. Then there is a 2 CM x 1 CM big piece of hard plastic inside of the steamed egg. Waiter changed a portion of the plate. Feels like nothing happened. Will not go back for a long time.

One of the best eggrolls to be had in all of California. Eggsrolls look like it s made with the rice wraps, deep fried to a nice golden color, and then browned with a quick stir fry. Past the initial crunch, the flavorful pork complemented the skin well. We tried the bun thit nuong and com tam. Surprisingly we liked the bun thit nuong better. The rice on the com tam didn t take any of the flavor from the meats. Overall, still one of the best Vietnamese places in San Diego.

I gave 2 stars instead 1 because they used to be good. But they tried to steal my friend's cellphone tonight!!
I'd visited for 7 years. I invited my friend for his first time visited his 15 years life in San Diego tonight. I'd been noticed service quality were getting lower every time I've visited but I still loved foods until tonight. Foods we ordered were taste less. I wasn't happy of foods but my friend was happy anyway until he realized he was told nobody seen his phone when we got back to look at.
My friend realized he left his phone at the restaurant when we parked car at our apartment garage. I remembered he put his phone on his right side on the table. We went to back right away hoping they were still open after 10pm. Hopefully they were still open to closing up so he got into it then he went to the table where we were but no phone. He asked if anybody has seen his phone they said nobody seen. He came back to my car and look again. I called his phone but no sound in my car. He didn't turn silent so it should be ring if it in my car. He went to back the restaurant one more time then talked people who work there. I saw some servers were laughing when I was watching them from my car where it's parked front of the restaurant. I felt uncomfortable so I got out my car and called his phone if it ring somewhere in the restaurant. Yes it rang!! INSIDE OF THE COUNTER!!!! Well I actually couldn't hear because they locked the door so I couldn't even open the door but I saw my friend walked to the counter from the table where he was when I called. Hah!! My friend got his phone back and got out!!
I will never visit the restaurant again. Terrible people. Terrible!! Be Aware those people working at where you use your credit cards....

Don't hold your breath. The pho and the egg rolls are mediocre here. Also, expect slow service for a Vietnamese place.

The pho tastes as good as any pho in north county even. Although I liked the egg rolls here, I was disappointed that the skin was hard and not as crispy as I've had at Vietnamese restaurants in the past. This usually indicates that the egg rolls have been refried and were not freshly made for the order.

This place is hyped up the wall. I cannot believe that the NY Times claimed that this was the best Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. What noobs.

My revisit to San Diego was pleasant except for my visit here. Food was so-so, service by waiter/waitress was good (the reason that I gave one star instead of zero or negative), but the counter lady was very rude when I wanted to pay before the rest of the group of 11 people due to my flight schedule. All they need to do was a simple execution of mathematics by subtracting my portion from the rest and re-calculate the bill. Although my simple request was made courteously, the reaction was a swift annoyance and anger.

The food is amazing but they need to slow down. I understand you're running a business but it is rude and unprofessional to rush your customer. I definitely would go back but people prared to hold on to your leftovers...
