A fantastic drive-thru place! It's been here for ages and has so many milk shake flavors. The fries sizes are also huge.

I grew up with peters , but feel it's gone downhill in the last 10 years.
I got the poutine and a chocolate milkshake. The poutine was a LARGE portion, around the size of 2 from regular fast-food chains. It was delicious and the price was reasonable for its size. The milkshake was very thick and I had to give it a minute to melt. Very fast service and the servers are kind. I would recommend visiting this place :)
A must go to, when your in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Calgary Classic. Diner Burgers & Shakes. No diner! Drive-Thru or outside window ordering only. They make good Burgers soaked in their special thin BBQ sauce. Great selection of shakes. You can mix up to 3 flavours.
Don't no what the hype is.worst burgers in Calgary, want great food go to angels in bowness
LOVE their milkshakes and onion rings a definitely must have! Enough said! :)
I found it a bit expensive and not that amazing, as many other people says.
If you are thinking about visiting it's a must I only get to come once a year now but love their burgers, onion rings and they marshmallow, root beer shake.
The candy cane milkshake is just a mint milkshake but the eggnog milkshake is pretty good
Considerate, friendly staff, fast service, great fast food...don't come to Calgary without coming to Peters'
The burgers are okay, certainly nothing exciting. Kinda thin, sad little patties and they don't offer bacon... The portions of the fries are huge and the shakes are excellent.
This is a staple of Calgary, everyone has to go here
I've always had great service & great food since the early 60s when I first came to Calgary
Great fast food. Reasonable prices. Speedy and friendly service.
Little over-hyped, tbh. I have been here before as a kid but couldn't remember if it was good so decided to go again with my husband for lunch today.
The burger patties were really thin (mcdonalds Big Mac thin), and they weren't very hot. Kind of seemed like they were reheated or have been sitting for ages or something, so it was a little surprising considering it seemed busy. I mean.. they tasted fine, but would have definitely been better if it was hotter and fresher.
You get a lot of fries in a small, so you can definitely share it between 2 or 3 people. The problem I had with them was they didn't seem very fresh either. They weren't very hot and seemed a little stale, also like they were left sitting or something. For being fries they were pretty decent.. not the best, but edible.
Onions rings were nice.
I don't know if this was an off-day, went at a time where they had extra food sitting around so got served that, or it's just generally how the food is, but we weren't that impressed by it.
Reading reviews I figured the food would blow me away.. but it didn't. Little over-hyped for what it is tbh. Little disappointed as you do get a lot of fries in a small.
We didn't try the Milkshakes (which apparently is a must have here) so we might go again to try. Hopefully next time the food will be better.
Best milkshakes super size fries a large does family of 4
Always get the hog dog plain with onion rings. Always tastes the same.
A Calgary classic! Love their burgers and fries but they are really known for their outstanding milkshakes! There is usually a line in the drive through but it goes fast and it's worth it.
Burger wasn't nearly as good as 5 guys, poutine was bland, soggy and not good. Milkshakes are about the only thing that I would try again.
It's an understatement to call Peter's Drive-in a Calgary local gem. This drive through joint has been around for as long as I've live in Calgary and it's a local staple. You'll never be disappointed by their famous milk shakes. Choose your own flavors, my personal is butterscotch rootbeer. Their double cheeseburger always satisfies as well!
If you ever have a friend visiting Calgary, or just passing through yourself, go and grab a milkshake, you won't be disappointed.
This is the best place to eat! You get 2 meals of fullness for the price of one and the milk shakes are YUMMY!!!!!
Great shakes and burgers. Wonderful local outdoors burger place with lots of seating
Rule: Call your co-workers, if you're going to Peter's. And don't walk into the office still drinking your shake, or yer busted.
I've lived in Calgary my whole life and Peter's has always been a good date place. Milkshakes are pretty good, and burgers are filling. Not amazing but pretty good!
Great burger and milk shake. Always love the odd trip to peters
Two words: recommended.
Milkshake must be ordered, there are many types, you can mix and match up to three
It s suitable for driving, or you have to sit in the cold wind to suck a milkshake
Not like it used to be... and milkshakes are too thick to drink right away last few times too... oh yeah, still cash only.
I waited 15 minutes for my order during non-peak times meaning there were only two cars in the Drive-Thru and I was served immediately as I walked up. After seeing everybody else that receive their orders to place their orders after me I went up and asked about my order apparently they lost my order and I was standing there waiting for nothing
Upon the realization that they misplaced my order immediately remade it which took another 5 to 10 minutes because I asked for no sauce.
I was not offered an apology nor a discount I should have just taken a refund and left with no food.
It was not the cashiers fault that my order was lost but the order was lost on the back end.
I highly recommend this drive-in fast food restaurant because they make such good milkshakes and their burgers are so good. In my opinion they are the best fast food restaurant in all calgary
Best milkshakes in the west. Great place for tourists.
Great Milkshakes with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately always super busy that average waiting time (until you can order) is 15-20 min.
I used to frequent this place LOTS in high school. I went today, and have to say, very disappointed! I ordered a single, small fry, chocolate shake, my lunch date had a cheeseburger and chocolate shake. Total $26 and change. The fries while plentiful were bland, luke-warm and looked like they had been under a heat lamp awhile; not crispy, not soggy, not plump, After eating about 10 the container got closed and tossed. The burger... what happened?!?! We used to get 1.5 juicy pretty decent looking patties... todays looked like the McDonald s variety and not the Angus! thin, dry and I suspect if you took out all the condiments That I could taste, the burger itself would have been relatively tasteless. The one thing they still do right though is the shakes my old faithful chocolate shake still tasted as I remembered. Wont be going back for food, shakes, maybe unless I find a cheaper alternative thats as good. So disappointing Peter s Drive-In :(
The drive thru was super busy ... went to walk up there was only 2 windows open & it was also super busy. Service was rather slow. It looked like 2 line ups but 10 minutes was told there was only 1 line. Why would there be 1 line up ?? I didn't want to stand in line again so left went elsewhere
I've always loved Peter's and now my kids love it too. The legacy lives on.
Ok burgers, good onion rings, milk shakes are good. Overall good but not the best. I use to enjoy the bugers but have found others that are better. My wife still enjoys the shakes, but wishes that they would make a better burger.
Just good old fashioned burgers, shakes and Fries. The shakes are big with lots of variety for flavours. A single burger with all the trimmings is great value.
This is one of the best hamburger joints in Calgary. There milkshakes are fantastic and there fries and onion rings seem bottomless.
Excellent shakes and burgers and onion rings always satisfying.
Always tastes like more even though you may be full. LOL
You can actually go up to window now, much more pleasant trip
Same old famous porters drive in. Always have a hard time not popping in for milkshake.
The milkshakes were good. Food okay. Prices high and always crowded.
It is not a good place to go anymore. They had no match until last 2/3 years. Who ever used to come to visit me from anywhere around the world. I always took them to "PETERS DRIVE IN" and everyone loved their taste and quality. I am 100% sure that they have changed the recipe of their SHAKES. Shakes are too sweet now. Overall they increased their prices but lower the quality & size. I hope they change it again and take it back to their original recipe. Thanks for reading.
I had to go at least once! But it's a little pricey.
Went here yesterday for the first time in years. The lady taking my order did not understand the concept of a plain cheeseburger. So after discussing it for a minute or so, it finally clicked. When we recieved our burger, it had everything on it. So we took it back to exchange it, and after waiting much longer than neccessary for a plain cheeseburger, the manager started trying to figure out where our food was. She got it to us very quickly! When we were finally able to sit down and enjoy our burger and 2 shakes, the food was VERY good. Just wish that lady was trained a little better! Only 1 star off for miscommunication since the food was so darn good!
Absolutely awesome burgers and shakes. It's your in and out burger of canada
This place is iconic, but I don't know why it's such a big deal. The food is pretty good, milkshakes are outstanding. There is this one older lady at the window who is not very friendly, I keep getting her, spoils the experience.
I'm a native Calgarian and used to go to Peter's all the time (I'm over 50 years old). I moved out of town, but came into Calgary recently and wanted my Peter's milkshake. Very disappointed. Asked for extra strawberries but the shake was still very lame. Sigh.
