Always been a favorite stop. You can't beat their milkshakes
Triple cheese & a banana milkshake. Mmm! They're understaffed coz of covid so be patient
Good food overall. Very sloppy, I suggest taking it home rather than juggling a slobbering mess in the car.
While nostalgia may play a role in my thinking, Peters' just isn't as good as it used to be. Food is good, but not memorable.
Parked in their 90% empty plot, bought some milkshake which was ok, but then decided to get additional food at a neighboring establishment that took less than 10 minutes. Came back to a parking ticket for "unauthorized parking on private property".
Wow. Absolutely disrespectful to your customers.
I do not recommend coming here.
Lots more mechanical and factory-like than it was before. Food is still good, but don't expect any kind of human exchange
Peter s Drive-In has been a local favourite since it opened in 1962, both with residents as well as people passing though town. The burgers are simple but tasty, the milkshakes are awesome, and the servings of fries are very generous (a small fries is more than enough for two people!).
This is a old-school drive-in, so there is no dining room, but picnic tables are available out front and in the parking lot to the south of the restaurant. Be sure to grab enough napkins before you sit down!
Amazing food and milk shakes this place is a must see
Visiting calgary...went 2 days in a row...why didnt I ever go sooner? Great everything!
What a disgusting place!
Me and my wife just ordered onion rings to go. As usual, we keep the box of onion rings inside the bag while I was driving and eating.
When we thought we were almost done eating it, we found out they put 3 packages of ketchup at the bottom of the box, which was supposed to have only onion rings. It was at the bottom of the box, not in the bag! Three big problems here:
1) The portion was actually smaller than it was supposed to be. That's so cheap.
2) We hope we did not get any sort of food poisoning because we ate those onions rings without knowing they were in contact with those ketchup packages. Cross contamination is a big deal when it comes to food safety.
3) I called Peter's to report what happened and whoever was in charge laughed at my face! That was so rude.
That was my last time there.
Pretty good, definitely gets 4 stars from the nostalgia.
Food gone down hill since new owners have taken over and gone corporate quality absolutely sucks, flavourless disgusting. Will never recommend or eat there again unless paid too.
Only the driver-thru is open but the line seems to line seems to steadily move
A long time favorite of Calgarians for drive thru for a quick meal of hamburgers, fries, etc. service is fast, quantity is large, and quality is excellent.
Milkshakes get 4 stars, but burgers just aren't tasty anymore
It's good, it's part of the Calgary experience. Skip the fries and have the onion rings. The shakes are the best!
Always a treat and always great shakes. I have been going for as long as i can remember and my dad can as well so they must be doing something right
The burger is not the best I have ever had but theres something to be said about the nostalgia of parking & eating in your car
Peter's is a Calgary/ Red deer must stop! Even if you're not hungry just a milkshake is sure to make ur day better. I love this place and sometimes make road trips from Edmonton just for it
I use to love Peter's till I had the icecream and it had little tiny chunks throughout my cone! The icrecream had oviously been curdled. I would have taken it back and complained but the line up was huge and I couldn't quit gagging.I would have to say one of my worst food experiences ever!!
Peters' is a classic drive thru with simple but great food. Its worth going out of your way for.
Oh my, after 40 years I was very disappointed in the food I received today. At 9:45 AM, I ordered a single cheeseburger and an order of onion rings. The cheeseburger was luke warm and the onion rings were overdone and the onions inside them were cold; as it appears they had tried to rewarm onion rings from the day before and obviously failed as they were of very poor quality to me! Was not worth my effort or money. With the stellar reputation they used to have, I am disgusted and very disappointed that this was served to me.
Good milkshakes but definitely a dollar or two over priced.
You can't afford to miss Peters Drive if you pass by Calgary. Home of amazing Milkshake.
Very chaotic, did not meet my hygiene expectations and randoms loitering. However, their staff super nice.
Omg. A order of onion rings can feed 4. Great burgers. Huge. Milkshakes are to die for.
Awesome milkshakes. Fries are good. Hotdog was over cooked. Should not have been served. Bugers were good.
Always loved this place since my early teens. Born and raised in Calgary. Knew the original owners of Peter's Drive In.
Classic thick milkshakes with burgers and hot dogs, great place to stop for lunch!
Epic place for milkshakes... so many flavors and so tasty.
A bit of a wait but less time than expected.. Great price.. The hamburgers were kind of plain.. But those onions rings were the best onion rings I've ever had.. And dipped in a milkshake was perfect.. I'll return for another bucket of onion rings
As usual great but I find the food bit oily this time
I will never repeat this experience. I had my allergy made fun of twice after I had to ask to have a burger remade because they didn't listen to my allergy concern. Nothing like being publicly humiliated after the staff refused to listen the first time. Peters drive in don't bother just drive by.
Always a classic place to get a burger, very nostalgic feeling. Milkshakes are delicious! One of my top places for burger and fries.
Our favorite over here to buy is milk shake off pine apple and mango. Best in taste. Quality and quantity of pine apple is very reasonable to enjoy. Each sip is wonderful. We kind of addiction of it. Price is very reasonable. But some time you have to wait for a very long time. Especially on weekends. Best is to check on line the peak hours.
Amazing milkshakes! They are never too sweet, lots of flavors to choose from!
PETE'S IS THE BEST BURGER, MILKSHAKE, ONION RINGS, FRIES AND EVERYTHING IN YYC.
Good ol' Peter's. Can't go wrong with a burger from these guys...they're to die for.
Price wise it's a bit expensive. The wait time can take longer than expected but the food is great.
Burger & a shake + a big box of onion rings.. love!
The burgers are like any fast food diner, but the shakes are good (as long as the syrup doesn't clog the straw)
I love peter's. Ide say the biggest downside is that there is only one in the north and I live pretty far south. Maybe a good thing so I don't die or too many amazing milkshakes. That's the real reason you go to peter's. Those milkshakes with 4500 flavor mixing options each milkshake can be mixed with 3 flavors and it's awesome how many they have. I would say a weak point is I'm not a huge fan of the food but it's still ok just not my reason for making the trip up there.
Food is good. Large portions. Little pricey for what you get, but all in all a nice old fashioned burger joint
Can't beat a milkshake like this. Yummy
worth the line up. Still waiting for when they start with fresh cut fries as there fries are very poor. Staff are always so friendly!!!
Always a good place to have a burger and a milkshake outside on a picnic table.
One of the best burgers I've ever had!! I will definitely travel back from bc to calgary to have another burger. Also the shakes are to die for! Mocha chocolate shake... the best I've ever had!!
I'm not quite sure what the hype is when it comes to Peter's drive in. It's just average at best I can't really recommend it.
Classic burger drive in, with very reasonable prices. While I think the food is alright, the prices and speed of service is what gives it the edge. Oooh and the milkshakes. People often say this place is over rated but I think they rightfully hold their place as a good drive thru place. It does suck that they're often exceptionally busy but that's a good sign.
Good food without the crud. Real potatoes, 100% beef. Milkshakes, banana splits, and sundaes a tasty treat with real fruit and real milk.
First time trying it. Have been here so many times from Sask and figured I should give it a shot. It was the best. Poutine over load though lol.
Food and milkshakes were good, as always, but I feel as if the service is just getting slower and slower. The drive-thru is painfully slow. I understand that quality takes time, but sometimes people have other things to do with their evening. I will, however, continue to come back, as the milkshakes are top-notch.
Looking for the best milkshake at a drive through? This is it! So many flavors and thick like crazy. Also do iconic cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings.
Milk shakes are great and burgers are good.. but don't order the fries
Shakes are outstanding. Don t go here and not order a shake. Fries were great and gravy delicious. Burgers were good. Nothing crazy but good.
Our Family has been going here for decades! Still the most Fabulous Burgers and Shakes!!
Best selection of flavours for milkshakes ive seen, very good sized portions for the food.
Always busy.
Cheap place to eat, but their milkshakes, one of a kind. Considering there's not much street food in Calgary, this is probs the closest you'll get.
Always enjoy a stop at peters when I come through town. So many milk shakes
Don't know if they changed their fries but man are they good. Haven't been back here in a while.
Growing up, Peter's was *the* place to get burgers and fries, delicious, flavorful, and large portions.
Now the only thing that *sort of* applies is "large portions". I say "sort of" applies because the bun, onion rings, and shake are large. But a patty, is hardly thicker than two lines of text on this Google review. Even with (2) patties, it's not a lot.
$5 - Onion rings - ***
$5 - Milkshake - ***
$7 - Burger - *
For $18?
Best drive-through in town if you have a JDM vehicle
Pretty affordable burgers, fast service, and the milkshakes are great!!! Great spot to take the fam and a classic Calgary spot.
Great burgers fast big line ups at rush hours. Everyone loves Peter's
Such a waste of time. Standing in line for twenty minutes, for what??? Not the best burger in the city starting to look like a dinosaur...
