Came to see The Nutcracker and Oakland ballet production was competent. People in the audience were using their cell phones though and distracting me with the light. Maybe they never go to the theater, I don't know. Very annoying.

Beautiful example of art deco theater architecture. Lovingly cared for, a long time staple of the community that has played host to all the greats over the years and continues to bring top tier talent to Oakland.

Went to the OJays at the paramount in Oaklad. The host had a comedy act & some oakland area awards but no Ojays. The show was supposed to start. at 8:00. It's now 9:00 and still no Ojays and they had the nerve to.take an intermission... Wow! I'm at a loss for words!! Spent $86.00 for this!!. Very disappointed. Would like a refund. Total waste of my time and money. Concert sucked!!! Buyer beware!

Dear dear Paramount Theatre, It's time for some new seats. The current seats are so old that they distract the viewer by concerns of back issues from sitting in these old decrepit chairs. Please repair.

I was there for my son's graduation from Moreau Catholic High School. The staff was amazing. I lost my phone and emailed the staff, they located my phone and met me the next day. I was really pleased. My family and I had a great experience.

Fully restored arts palace. It's been here forever, and it's never looked better. Acoustics are great, seats are comfortable, and experiencing the Paramount further enhances the often world-class entertainment. Home of the Oakland Ballet.

Beautiful theatre, any seat is a good seat! Very intimate setting. Easy to find parking and even easier check-in line. The employees are helpful and friendly, they truly know how to make you feel as if you and your group are out for a night at the theatre.

Amazing! If you live in the East Bay you have to make it here for the orchestra, a play or one of their special movie screenings. Take advantage of the intermission and explore. It's an incredibly beautifully restored building. I can't wait to go back.

It is beautiful on the inside but all the stairs and not having a restroom on the two top floors was the worst. On top of that, the restroom on the third from the top floor had only four stalls. Great sound system and seats are okay. If people are late they shouldn't be permitted on especially if they are in the middle. Usher even made 6 people get up including myself and scoot over a few seats so late people could sit at the aisle seat that I paid for instead of going down the other side and having two people get up so they could sit at their assigned seats. Just madness

Tricky/bad parking, narrow entrance to get thousands of people through. Bathrooms are decent with quite a few stalls but still long lines. The place feels older but not enough to be a dump.

We go to the Paramount for classic movie night. It's the best fun for $5 you'll ever have. Gorgeous Art Deco environment, plus a bar on every level. Plan to get there around 7:00-7:30 just to take it all in.

I went there to see the concert of Kansas the band. the architecture and interior design was of the art deco time and it was absolutely stunning. Everything was clean the staff to help you to the seat where polite and knowledgeable and it was an overall great experience. Anytime you can attend an event there the venue will at least not disappoint you.

Went to see the a show play this past weekend and it was pretty good and funny I was pleased within the play itself, but the theater on the other hand is something else I couldn't hear clearly, I don't know if it's because I was sitting on the balcony or something else. I also got bit on my arm three times as well as my friend.

The theater was brought back from the dead in recent year or two. Now back to it's Paramount Art Deco splendor! The amazing Emerald green lobby was breathtaking. Saw Christina Aguilera here in 10/2018 Sound was flawless and crisp. Unfortunately saw Tyler Perry's Madea's Farewell Tour yesterday afternoon and Sound was HORRIBLE! We were in orchestra row N and it was extremely hard to make words out of what was being said on stage due to them echoing on top of each other. It wasn't a problem when cast were singing though. Still enjoyed going though just wish we could have heard lines being spoken.

Paramount Theater is not very handicapped friendly. If you are disabled there are no special entrances for patrons who have wheel chairs and walkers. There are no handicap seats. No handicap parking. I cannot attend any more functions because of this.

My first time at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA was on January 18, 2019. We saw Tyler Perry's Madea's Farewell Play tour and it was amazing. The theatre was built in 1931 and as if time has stood still to its aging, it's breathtakingly beautiful! All the furniture and art work seem like authentic antique pieces. There is a few things that had to be modernized, such as the removal of the pay phones but still has the sign up, etc. Once your in the theatre it's as if it metastasize itself!? Very comfortable seats, nice and clean upkeep, friendly staff but the parking is all but non-existent! Fortunately we found a parking lot of which the cost was $20 and was around the corner and a block down, so give yourself Extra EXTRA time!

The monthly or every-so-often classic movies are a lot of fun. Just $5 entrance to see the Blues Brothers or Wizard of Oz with a short show before, it feels like a night out to the movies used to be before previews and advertising. The theater is grand and well preserved. It makes for a great friends night out, date night, or bring your kids along to the age appropriate movies.

I have seen three shows here and I really love this theatre. It is very true when they say, "there are no bad seats in the house at The Paramount Theatre." It is such an intimate place, it seems like it is a private show, just you and the performer(s).
