Was closed so many days missed getting tickets for the Tyler Perry laughs play
It's one of the better theaters, still gum on the floor though
Saw a jazz show here, bass was a bit boomy but the venue and sound were nice otherwise
This is one of the most gorgeous theaters we've ever seen. Great acoustics. Even the bathroom makes one say wow!
This is my absolute favorite venue, love the old school vibe
Walking in the doors always takes your breath away. Yes, getting down to the bathrooms can be a bit of a walk, but the seats are so comfy and the venue is perfect.
Too many stairs and small seat space. 3rd floor bathroom only has 4 stalls. Not enough to accommodate everyone during a 15 minute intermission of a play. However, very nostalgic.
Really nice and clean theater in the old school theme
The interior design is spectacular, every detail very well designed, congratulations to those who did.
Beautiful art deco venue. One of my favourite spots to visit here in Oakland.
Fantasia fantastic
...
Wandering if they will ever make their sound system better.
Great theatre with a huge capacity, limited parking though, public parkings available around the corner.
I LOVE THIS GO TO PLACE FOR ALL OF MY ENTERTAINMENT NEEDS. IT'S CENTRALLY LOCATED DOWNTOWN WITH GREAT PLACES NEAR BY TO EAT AT BEFORE OR AFTER A SHOW. I LOVE THAT THEY HAVE SO MANY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THINGS HAPPENING HERE ALL THE TIME.
I frequent the Paramount often. I just absolutely love this place. And that you can catch a quality show in an intimate environment without traveling to the city.
Restored in 1973 & impeccably maintained, The Paramount Theater is a high classic Art Deco theater (1931), designed by Timothy Pflueger (& James Rupert Miller, architectural firm of Miller & Pflueger), and extraordinary auditorium walls designed & incised by Robert Boardman Howard, & an inspired proscenium arch and ceiling, designed by Ralph Stackpole...
This exquisite historic theater has weathered every storm, earthquake & fire over these 87 years and she is still as breathtaking & glorious as ever !!
The place was amazing and they really kept the place in good shape. Everything was cleaned especially the bathroom.
Loved it, very beautiful. Loved the Concert on 12/31/17.
Loved the performer at this historic venue, Lila Downs rocked the Indigenous crowd
We planned to arrive early for parking. All parking surrounding the theater was $20. The parking adjacent to the theater is covered and secure. Upon arrival we were pleasantly greeted by staff. Be sure to bring cash for parking and beverages. The theater is also close to public transportation including BART. The seats are comfortable and the theater is beautiful.
Not a bad seat in the house. The design and decor is must see for yourself.
Beautiful building with lovely art deco architecture.
Absolutely beautiful venue. Great place to see a show. Excellent sound. Nice staff. Clean restrooms. Love this theater.
Wonderful that they host the Naturalization Ceremony.
Seats were good in the balcony, but glad I brought my binoculars. I was surprised that persons were smoking or maybe the scent was so strong from what they had smoked outside before the show....
One of the most beautiful theatres in Oakland... elegant art deco masterpiece restored to perfection.
Picture perfect sound. No bad seats for sound.
It's a great old Theater however it has no elevators to get you to the upper level seats
Even through Kem was over one hour late. I had the best time ever. Amen
Beautiful theatre. Went there for a naturalization ceremony. You have to park around the corner.
Beautiful older structure, but they really need an elevator too many stairs, if you are goung to sit in the balcony
It was Tyler Perry's farewell tour play there! Everything about it was convenient and easy to find. A big long light of Paramount was a perfect landline
Excellent venue. Classic details.
Extrodinary craftmenship....
Great sound and harmonics.
The Paramount Theater is the perfect mix of classic and modern. Every event there is a treat!
The four tops harmonize beautifully, the temptations stole the show singing hit songs, encouraging the audience participation ,this made the night romantic and fun for everyone .
Everything was good except for the seats when you pay good money to sit in the first two rows you should not be squished and sitting on only half of your chair because the seats are put so close together that if someone that is a heavy person sitting next to you they are in half of your seat which is what happened to me.
For me it is very important in that place I went to the ceremony where I swore for my citizenship.
Beautiful environment showcases any event -Fun! The architecture and decor inside this theater make an event a treat. I will look for another offering at this venue just to kick back and enjoy the comfy seats and amazing decor. Acoustics are great, bathrooms are pretty, and the location easy to get to. While they dont have a lot, all the nearby ones had (for this event) $20 event parking. It is right across from BART if you prefer.
Went to the Ojays concert. I was sitting in row kk it was very cold.
Beautiful venue. Seats are comfortable but aisles are rather narrow - my knees were killing me by the end of the show and I'm only 5' 10".
The city of Oakland should do better, this is a beautiful building that needs lots of upgrading and tender loving care in the inside. The acoustics are very poor. If you're not sitting in the orchestra section don't bother going to an event.
Very nice place. I suggest parking in a garage and not in the lot next to it. Lot owner was only thinking about money. Over packed the lot to 40 min. to move all the cars so we can get our.
Beatiful place for watching shows, in a nice art deco style, but there are too few restrooms for the amount of people that can be there. View from gallery is good and sound is clear.
The theater is great, however the people there is not very friendly. Maybe we got too many students and family, a bit difficult to control.
Yaaaaaaasss!! Happy New Year 2018.. to the Whispers!!.. Thank You Delmus Allen of S.F. for bring me to enjoy a evening there! 3rd Row Magic ( That's where the Party was)
I really enjoyed the Nutcracker performance! It was awesome!
Beautiful lobby, great seats with plenty of room, easy access one block from BART.
This is a beautiful venue, but they REALLY NEED to work on the sound quality when they play movies.
This theater is stunning. However, it is RIDICULOUS that there are 9 women's restroom stalls for a theater that hold a thousand people at full capacity. During intermission you will wait 20-30 minutes.
Had lots of fun the only things is the bathroom are always busy
