Wonderful old theatre but acoustics are not good and getting a drink is impossible. They are missing a huge business opportunity.
It's nice but everyone was smoking weed lol I mean no big deal but like.... Come on have some respect. This is why people think we're dumb stoners. Cuz people can't just blaze in the car before and during intermission.
Great place. Horrible staff.
Edit: another year here. Staff still horrible. Lied to my face. Flip flopped on rules. Rolled their eyes at me. Stormed off while talking to me. Was absolute no help while giving the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Absolute garbage.
Had a wonderful time as usual the service was great no long lines. The sound system can be updated
Ronald Isley and his brothers and sister and wife and a lady from the audience plus the band were remarkably, awesome come back soon they turned it OUT
I went in to get tickets for Tyler Perry's farewell Madea Play the service was simple and pleasant
Saw Tim Allen had nice time. Paramount Theatre is an old gem of downtown Oakland.
Beautiful theater. I was here for Hustle Con in June 2017. It was a good place for a conference as there were three floors open (the highest level wasn't accessible) and each had it's own bar. Lots of space to move around in. The theater itself has magnificent decor. Sound was great considering I was on the far right side of the first balcony. I could see the whole stage from there, too.
I went to a concert there recently. It's an elegant venue located right in the heart of Oakland.
Paramount Movie Fridays are great inexpensive family entertainment.
The Paramount is the monumental and classic environment. It was Madea's Farewell Tour and the play was fantastic.
Absolutely enjoyed my time there. Very Comfortable seats. Beautiful art. Every corner and wall is an absolute joy.Wonderful staff.
The only problem I found... ITS TEMPERATURE INSIDE IS VERY COLD. Dress worn when going.
Nice historic theatre. Just not enough bathrooms for a full house.
Stunning venue, old Art Deco glamour to the extreme! Feels like not just an audience comes here for the shows, but an entire community!
My favorite theater in the bay. Such an amazing space.
The Paramount Theatre was a wonderful experience especially cuz we saw Madea I got a chance to sit in the third row which was amazing the experience was totally outstanding and all the nurses were very hospitable and nice the drink was nice to
Breath taking elegant jewel of art deco theatre at its finest. Rare theatre that has organ playing pre-show during the holidays and other special events. Offers once a month tours.
Gorgeous art Deco interior ! WOW !! Easy parking, pub next door, fantastic fun evening with Kansas. What a great time ! Older theater does not have the best accoustics. Easy to get to from the highway. Highly recommended for a low stress venue.
I didn't realize my sites were up to the last floor so we wasted our tickets because my brother couldn't make it up there and I couldn't either. When I asked the people who worked there she told me it was good seats so I took her at her word no elevator it was terrible!
Beautiful building. When they say nose bleed section, you need binoculars to see the artist!!!
Went to Madea's Farwell Tour, Oakland, CA today. The Paramount is usually on it....there was NO ONE to show u to ur seat until 20min into the show. We were in the right row...wrong seats. Sat until we had to move and finally got help. Show was still great. Thanx Tyler Perry/Madea...
Beautiful theater, great acoustics, but not enough refreshment vendors.
We went to Temptations concert. This is a beautiful, historic building. This is the first time we sat in the seats that were high and far back, about 8 rows from back wall. The acoustics was not good. Usually we buy seats on the floor. That being said, would not go again if closer seating not available. The steps are steep, and if you are not steady on your feet, best to stick to as far up as mezzanine only.
Elegant, beautiful, "old fashioned" (art deco) interior design. No elevator, so if mobility is a challenge, plan to sit on the main floor (orchestra level). Good acoustics, decent sight lines (assuming no one taller sits in front of you), narrow seats...
Great for shows or comedy....little swag in Oakland.
The nicest theater in the Bay Area - oustanding architecture, staff and programming.
Beautiful old theater. Worth seeing a live show here.
Tyler Perry's Madea Farewell Play was exceptional. Ti Ti was awesome in her debut appearance. From beginning to end it was amazing. And when Tamela Mann sang Take me to the King...the perfect touch to end the play!!!
Great venue. I'd go to more events if the box office were open beyond Fri and Sat or if Ticketmaster didn't command such hefty fees to purchase tickets online.
Theater is excellent. It is maintained well but the surroundings were disgusting. The outside was smells of urine.
Gorgeous venue, great view from any seat I think. Pre-drink though because the lines for the bars are bananas.
Its beautiful. I'll often go to the $5 movies just so I can walk around inside and check out all the art deco adornments. Great place for music shows as well.
AMAZING but there r only from what I saw 1 bathroom so 1 male and 1 female so thats pretty bad but besides that its a great place! And I just got done watching Madeas Farwell tour and IT WAS HELLA FUNNY AND I LOVED IT
It's a monument that has beautiful history and today being US Citizen is adding to this history
It was crowded. Should have let the mothers on the first floor with stroller's.
Beautiful and historical. Every seat is a great seat. The seats are also comfortable and big enough to accommodate the ever growing American Human :-)
Great place to take in the best entertainment town
