Fun helicopter experience but half an hour flies away ... too short

Awesome Rotory tour around the Canyon, Dale was an amazing pilot and she gave a super tutorial with a smooth flight from liftoff to landing

Perfect, 45minute flight over the canyon, really nice.

Don t get a middle seat!
Views are disappointing from that spot. No orientation other than a video in the waiting room.
They play a sound track while in flight that does not match what you are seeing. But don t worry, they will play the sound track again in Spanish and Cantonese even though everyone on your flight is a native English speaker.

If you can afford it, do it. I did the Majestic tour (25-30 minutes). They synced up the Star Wars opening crawl music with our approach to the canyon. It worked on me.

We flew above the canyon for about 15 minutes and only saw about 10% of the entire canyon, but it seemed like we saw so much of it. The sense of scale is incredible.

Helicopter experience of 45 minutes UNFORGETTABLE. Pure emotion! Worth the shopping ... there is no better way to visit the Grand Canyon!

Amazing Helicopter tour. Very safe, fun (they play a soundtrack during the brutal journey) and spectacular. Being able to see the Grand Canyon is a gift!

Huge flight over the Grand Canyon!
Our female pilot made us dream, the route is excellent, the view of the Canyon in her largest width left us speechless!
The 2 Spaniards who accompanied us (6 places + the pilot), were left side, the visibility was less sympathetic for them.

If you don t get either the two front seats or the back windows seats the 300 dollars go to waste. I m 6 foot and stuck in the middle seat. They tell you the view is great either way but it s really not view is very limited in the middle. Really upset I missed most of the view

Absolutely amazing, there are not enough words to describe the scenery of Grand Canyon from a Helicopter. And the tour with Papillon was enhanced the experience with great comfort and a top class pilot.

From making the reservations to the time we landed; all personnel were courteous and kind. When I called to ask questions regarding our reservation the agents were knowledgeable.

Great experience, Mark our pilot was amazing. The view of the Grand Canyon was breath taking, this is the best thing we did on our trip, everyone was so friendly, we highly recommend if you are going to the Grand Canyon you have to book a flight.

They have been flying the same piece for more than 20 years. It is nice but price quality. I'm doubting about that.

Very unprofessional. They canceled our reservation without any notice, so I knew that we canceled after we there. They never say sorry.

Brilliant experience to fly over the grand canyon by helicopter. Beautiful view! We had taken the last option at 4 pm. When the sky is clear and the sun is shining, whatever that day, a gigantic play of colors unfolds beneath you. Definitely worth it. Recommended! Is worth the price.

The Grand Canyon itself is very impressive but you have to imagine how impressive it is to fly above it! This is possible via this helicopter company. We did not have to wait long until we were allowed to board a helicopter and the staff were very friendly and funny. Then I had the luxury to sit next to the pilot so I had the best view and could fully enjoy. You enter the helicopter with 6 people at the same time. During the flight you can ask the pilot questions and you will hear a story about the Grand Canyon in your own language! All in all, this was a unique and super fun experience, therefore I would definitely recommend it if you have the time for it.

Overall enjoyable experience and worth it, with a couple of gripes.

The reservation process was nice and smooth. I received an email confirmation before I was off the phone with the scheduler. Check-in for the flight was quick and the safety video passengers are required to watch is only three minutes long.

I paid to upgrade to a front seat ($50.00 in Jan 2018) thinking that I'd have a little more room to move around and take photos. Well, I didn't know that there are three passenger seats up front, so I was sort of wedged in for the duration of the flight. The front is cramped when all seats are occupied. My seat was next to the door and I discovered pretty quickly that anyone over six feet tall may have issues with their head constantly bumping the door frame. The front seat upgrade is not worth it, in my opinion.

Make sure you check the windows on your side before take-off. The one I sat next to had loads of body oil and smudges, so a lot of my photos didn't come out all that great. The tight confines of the seating made it very difficult for me to try cleaning it with my sleeve.

Still, I'm glad I took the helicopter tour and feel that it was reasonably priced, minus the front seat upgrade.

A scenic flight should not be missed. Depending on the season, a reservation is necessary, as well as coaches ancestors. There are several helicopters available. The training is professional. Completely relaxed start and flight. A unique event worth every dollar.

Booked a private sunset grand canyon landing and vegas strip flyover tour for a PROPOSAL on the first day of our vacation (as they recommend). Got a call 8 minutes before our limo was supposed to pick us up, saying that they are canceling the flight due to weather.

I understand they cannot control this however, it was frustrating it was so last minute. From here I called the operator to reschedule my tour on a later date. However, they gave me NO alternative options to reschedule other than a week away (we were only in vegas for 4 days). They did not offer any apologies, any alternative times or tours, request to open additional flights, ect. I was trying to give the company 3k and they simply could not have given a **** about me or my proposal plans.

Therefore I requested a refund, and booked on GC tours (what I thought at the time was an alternative company). I called them tried to book one for the next day that they had available, however, the operator asked if i could go on hold. After 5 minutes she comes back and says that the tour was now sold out.... yes she put me on hold to book that flight with someone else. After complaining she opened a ticket to request an additional flight for that night ; which was later approved and booked. All in all, i spent the same amount of money for the same tour that was not private...

Beaten up bus picked us up and we were dropped off, turns out Papillon owns that company too (which explains the horrible customer service). They were unfriendly and not helpful at checkin. I requested front seats (which would have been an additional $100), however, they gave it to another couple that did not request it (and they were the same weight as us so that was not the issue)...

In all, it was amazing to me I ended up on the same companies tour after they told me they could not reschedule me for a week. My expierance with this company was horrible as have many other peoples. The tour is beautiful, however, i recommend going with an alternative company such as mavericks helicopter tours.

This is a top notch operation that is organized , friendly and punctual. The helicopter was neat as a pin and our pilot was just terrific. So glad I booked this tour.

Beware! The things the DONT tell you on the website or in person!
The day of the tour the representative told me and my wife, 5 minutes before take off that dude to the high temperature the helicopter would not be able to land at the bottom for safety reason. That s okay but now we have another issue, the tour we paid is $80 difference. The man simply said call guest services and they will give you the difference in reimbursement.
I called them and the said my reimbursement was actually $20 because my tour included an entrance to the Grand Canyon.
Yes the tour is cool, but when I don t get what I pay for I except a refund and they were unwilling to do so. Unfair and lousy customer service.
This could happen at any given day to anyone. Just FYI keep this in mind before you purchase it.

Too bad we only flew over trees, beautiful way back. Quite an experience!

While they were a little pricey, they ran like a well oiled machine. Actually got us in and out earlier than scheduled. No other way to see the Grand Canyon. Our pilot answered our million questions wantingly.

grate team here doing a great job. Had an amazing flight over the canyon. The pilot carried on and did everything he could even when one of our kids was really (motion) sick. Awesome work

This is the best company for your helicopter ride . If you do it you'll always remember the beauty of it. They give you a picture of you with the helicopter before you get on for your adventure

They show you the GRAND CANYON up close. High prices....

It's a good experience, although disproportionate in the price, but the worst, the deal: everything quickly, and with not very good manners to make you embark fast, they bother you or prevent you from making your own photo, to sell after yours, and all with the face of few friends. A little unpleasant Pity.

tourist trap! Only 30% of the seats have views ( the ones in the front, two with pilot three people ) in the back FOUR people are squeezed into the same width..and NONE of them have good views. PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS! ON OTHER SITES, REVIEWS BELOW ARE FROM "LOCAL GUIDES" incorrect, untrue and paid for! Seats are assigned by "computer" and at companies sole discretion and last minute, that means nothing you can do about it! 66% of clients will be the paying cattle in the back: squeezed into seats, without view, without service ( only passengers in the front receive help with climbing into the helicopter, buckling in, headphones etc ) and as the pilots doesn't know much about the Grand Canyon, he will have a private conversation with the person next to him, which everybody on board must listen to as the headphones cannot be adjusted to mute. RUN!

There's no better way to see the Grand Canyon then with a Papillon Helicopter tour. Superb staff and pilots

First off- place is extremely easy to find. Its about 20 minutes drive from Grand Canyon Village or about 5 min from anywhere in Tusayan. Parking is ample.

Check-in: Smooth as expected and staff is very friendly and share with you what all you can do while you wait for your flight

Boarding: Ground crew helpfully and politely guides you to your seat (you cannot just sit wherever you want for weight distribution reasons)

Flight: Worth every penny! I don't have to tell you that the views were spectacular since that's what you paid for. Added bonus - funny and chatty pilot, music in the helicopter for the few min until we're over the canyon, voiceover guidance once above the canyon.

Little expensive buy worth every dollar!! Great views.

Great customer service right from the time you walk into the doors.

Plan to be there 30 minutes before flight time to get checked in, weighed and view the safety video.

After that you go to the wait room until your pilot comes to get you.

Pilot took us to the helicopter and took our pictures then boarded us on at a time.

Each headset is Bose noise cancelling which made the flight even better. The pilot could talk to us and out mics were muted.

They played an audio track during the flight that gave very good information about the Grand Canyon. Our pilot filled in here and there with even more interesting info.

Flight from take off to landing was very smooth. Only hit a couple air pockets but even those weren t bad.

Worth it if you can afford a little extra money and time to fit it in on your trip.

Flight canceled because of the weather. Snow on May 23 ... unexpected and big disappointment. But hey, it's the game of surprises

Absolutely amazing experience with Patrick and Dan! I took the tour out of Page municipal airport. We flew over Marble Canyon, Glen Canyon Dam area, Horseshoe Bend, part of Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, saw Navajo Mountain and then for the grand finale landed two helicopters on Tower Butte rock with 360 views. You get out for about 20 minutes on top of there. It was ridiculous!! It is one of those must do things on your vacation list to this area!! Great memories. (Much better than trying to shuttle and hike down to Horseshoe Bend with the crowds and sometimes gnats.)

Nice drive really peaceful wild life is pretty active. I've seen wild horses. Deer racoons., a baby bobcat, driving in so beautiful. If you love the outdoors is really recommend stopping here

Expensive but worth the money for a half hour tour over the Grand Canyon
