Pizza is the best. Had The Pepperoni Special. Delivered hot and in a timely manner. And just have to add everyone was very professional. The delivery person had a Papa Jays shirt and car was also well signed. Thank you for a great meal when I didn't feel like going out or cooking.
Gave us less food than we ordered, didn't refund, hung up on us when we tried to call them about it. Don't expect good service
The pizza was OK but way over priced. When the person who took my order said $19.18 for a Lg. Hawaiian I almost told them to forget about it, wish I had now. I was even more upset when it got here and it was the size of a medium, thin and had very little sauce. I have ordered from here in the past and thought the pizza was fairly good and the price was good too. After tipping I paid $23 for nothing. Very disappointed!

Well, everything was going great until this one time. Normally dont have a problem with the place except with the drivers constantly showing up to the neighbors house. But that's beside the point. Waited over an hour for our food, which has never happened before. Normally doesnt take that long to make ravioli and put together an italian sub. but whatever right? Could have been a busy Wednesday night..but again not my point. Now on the menu it clearly states "All cold subs include lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, green peppers & onions". So ordered a spicy italian sub the same way we have ordered it just like the 500 other times it's been ordered. But what we got was pretty much a cheese sandwich with a few pieces of meat. Is this a joke? Like I mean what happened to the rest of the sub? No veggies? Yeah I get it, we all make mistakes. But when you have waited over an hour for cold ravioli and a sad excuse for an Italian sub, kinda really pisses a person off. 2 stars, and that's me being extra generous because the food is decent when made the right way.
The food was decent, although it took nearly an hour to be delivered (down the street) there were no napkins and one fork (with a large order) You would think that the Sponsored Pizzaria for Days Inn would be better, it's not.
The food is ok, but everything is extremely overpriced. They don't have small pizzas, but don't let that fool you. Their medium is a small but they will charge you a medium price for it. I ended up paying over $13 (and that was after a discount) for a small pizza w/a couple regular toppings. Not worth the hassle.
OMG! This place rocks. A little pizza joint tucked away in the corner. Kind of like finding a hidden gem. I would suggest either going there or ordering online, good pizza, subs etc.. at a good price. I'm going there right now to eat lunch see you there!

Never get a quesadilla from them. It seems like they just throw cheese on then all the topping on top and never flip it so you can literally pick up the top of every slice. Very hard to eat. Not impressed i order from there all the time. Not anymore.
Could use a bot more sauce other than that it was good.

I ordered a vegetarian calzone and substituted the green pepper for banana peppers. I got a calzone with banana peppers, pineapple, cheese and sauce. ya'll missed the onions, mushrooms, and broccoli and just gave me pineapple for some reason (the worst topping that I didn't ask for). I still like the food. but when I pay 20 bucks for a meal, I expect it done right, or at least close. I asked for 6 toppings (including the sauce and cheese) and I got 4, one of which wasnt even the right topping. I would show the receipt along with the picture of the calzone, but the delivery driver only asked me if I wanted it instead of handing it to me with the box like he was supposed to. Unfortunately I said no because I thought I wouldn't need it. Conspiracy? I don't know. Lesson learned I guess. I cant really recommend this place unless you enjoy gambling. 2 stars for the potential.

Have found multiple hairs in my food, MULTIPLE TIMES. I used to order here a lot but the sanitation and food safety and prep is clearly subpar. Would recommend other great places in dover who don t have hair in their food on multiple occasions. Do better Papajays.
I just paid 14 dollars each for what should have been 2 lrg subs. Instead I get 2 subs that are almost the same size as a half I have leftover from friday not to mention they are so sopping wet the paper theyd beenwrapped in is falling apart. . I called and was told I couldn't get my money back and that I got what I ordered bc even tho they were in small sub roll they put the same amount of meat in them.... I took pictures the one that isn't wet I'd a half of a ckn salad sub leftover from Friday....
Apparently they ran out of their regular rolls and it was just too bad for me needless to say I'm pretty angry

Ordered a Large steak and cheese pizza for my boyfriend and I to share. Both really hungry, just got home late from work. After over and hour of waiting by the door they bring a steak and cheese sub. My boyfriend for some reason just took it confused and they left. So I called the restaurant right when he left and explained we would really like to give the sub back and just get the pizza, very politely. They agreed and made a pizza. I called 1 hour later to see if they were still coming because I waited another hour by the door. They said the delivery driver just left with my pizza and is on the way. I waited another 1 hour by the door. NEVER SHOWED UP. I waited a total of 3 hours by my door and never ate dinner that night because I don t like subs. That delivery driver must have enjoyed our pizza at home that night. Terrible customer service.
I ordered 1 sub and a small onion ring. I live 5 mins from the restaurant. The food took 1 hour and and 20 mins to get here. When it finally arrived, i got the completely wrong order. The delivery person proceeded to ask me to my face if i wanted to leave a tip. Are you serious?! HA! Also, when i initially ordered on the phone, the person who took my order asked if i wanted to leave a tip on my card, and i said yes, $7.00. (Which is over 20%). Unreal. Worst place ever. This is not the first experience ive had similar to this and this experience in particular is what drove me to finally leave a review and stop ordering from this low-level dive. And yeah, i did eat the food i recieved. And no, i did not enjoy it. Haha!

I love that they are always friendly and awesome when delivering. The online ordering and points system is easy and a great layout. The only thing I could critique is the oil. It needs to be changed out more or fish and frys need to be cooked in different oil. The drys have a very distinct fish taste and it turns not only my stomach but my friend has a fish allergy and it's made him sick.
I ordered thre gut buster pizza and it did not disappoint. Not only was the pizza delicious as always, but the pizza also busted my gut. I was on the toilet about 12 times that day. I will always choose papa jays because of the service and quality.

The sub had all the right components except the ham...you just don't use smoked ham on an Italian sub because of the smoked genoa. It's 2 different smoked tastes and do not compliment each other...change to cooked ham and we will purchase again.
1lb. Of fries and 1lb of tenders is closer to 1lb total. Kind of a rip off, called them and asked for the rest of the food we ordered and they were not helpful and hung up

When I worked there the owner always kept the standards up on making the food: safety, flavor, value and timely delivery. Sounds like a few employees are rude lately and I can't tell you anything about that, but if he's running the place like he did in 2006, just talk to him and let him know your problems. He gets to the cause of the problem and fixes it.
So I ordered the chicken alfredo and the chicken parm dinner the chicken alfredo had no chicken in it and they try to give me cut up chicken fingers instead of chicken parm so apparently they don't know the difference so be careful what you order from here they don't know what they are doing
Place used to be good. The past couple of months they have been slow and the food is ridiculous. Not sure why I bothered getting chilli from here. It was gross and no where near 16 oz. Save your money.
5 stars for the food and the ability to order online but minus two stars for the horrendous website. Auto-playing unstoppable music? Come on.
I just ordered from here for the first time. The meatball sub was excellent. The Greek salad? It was the poorest excuse of one I have ever had. The dressing came in a Ken's packet. Very little feta. Two round slices of pepper. Maybe 3 cucumbers. This salad was $8.99. Way, way, way over priced. The sub was $5.99 and much better. I would order again but obviously will not be getting a salad.
Keep in mind that Dover now has at least 15 pizza parlors, so there is plenty of competition. The caveat here is that the ovens are likely run too hot, or some other issue (I'm no pizza chef). Too often the bottom of the pizza is overcooked and occasionally even blackened.
Usually ok. We ordered boneless wings.. got some weird tenders in nasty sauce. Wicked soggy. Looks like food you d get from under a railroad in the ghetto so I guess it s fitting

Their "pizza sauce" tastes like tomato paste right out of the can. The dough was paper thin, so everything fell off the pizza the second you pick it up. Everything tasted very artificial and just gross. A medium sized Hawaiian "pizza* for almost 20 bucks (after taxes, etc). I would've been better off getting a frozen pizza from Cumberland Farms. Don't waste your money here.
Papa Jays delivery is always fast and they always deliver my food hot. The pizza sizes are unique though ..they run on the smaller side so when I want a large sized pizza I order the Extra Large cause the Large is a bit small and looks more like a medium. However the sauce is very good and I enjoy their pizza.
Large pizza wasn t very large at all but tasted good. Delivery lady was very nice Boneless wings were good too and well sized.
Very good pizza, perfect crust, pepperoni and sauce. Perfect amount of grease , nice light cheese, not too chewy. Very nice owner / employees. Very courteous and always happy to accommodate special requests.
They were rude on the phone when my girlfriend called.. then gave them second chance and they screwed up our order.. too bad cuz pizza is decent
I placed an order online and about an hour later I ended up calling the store. the gentleman who answered the phone said that they were very busy and that he had to call people in for deliveries he was apologetic to the minimum but an hour for two subs just seems awful. I will not be ordering online ordering for delivery from this place again I will just pick up the food I do enjoy the food it is always good when I get it but today was just not a good day for them.
My first & last time I would do business with Papajay's. I ordered a sausage mushroom & oinion pizza. It had Little to no sauce (looked like a white pizza), th dough is hand toss after it thaws out-tasteless, 8 sausage slices (thin), 5 mushrooms, & 2 whole onions (99% onion). The parking lot is hard to access & park. The delivery person parked in a way he blocked the entrance/exit. When I went back inside & asked if he was leaving or could he move his car his response was I parked the wrong way. He walked past me & the manager said I was rude. So if you like lousy pizza & unprofessional staff by all means this is the place to go in Dover. The photos they posted shows a truck parked in the same direction I parked.
Used to work here, Owner doesn't pay, be expected to use your own vehicle and gas to deliver his pizzas.

For the price thought we'd get more. Burger for $6.99 was very small, and bun was hard. Paid $3.99 for a 2 liter of Diet Pepsi that expired August 1st, and it is September 3rd. $13.99 for a pizza the size of a dinner plate. The grinders we ordered for tomorrow appear to be decent though. All in all overpriced for the portions, and the expired soda is not likely fatal, but a nail in the coffin for this review. We had 4 similar options to decide between, hopefully this helps others make the right decision, as we did not.
There Steak N Cheese is treble. the bread was extremely soggy. and even the steak tips didn't taste good. when I call they wouldn't even make it right they said all sales are final. and I was nice about too. that got me nowhere

Really easy website with lots of options, however forgot a small part of the order. Pizza was of perfect thickness and yummy. Mozzarella sticks were basic but enjoyable. Service was average.

Good pizza friendly staff and reasonably priced. Not so much a dine in place however they do have a few tables to sit at. Have enjoyed their pizza while there ( you can get slices as well as whole pizzas) and have had their delivery. Good pizza each time. So appreciate the consistency.
The salad was great, pizza was good but we found a rubber band baked in it...kinda grossed us out.

As a lactose intolerant guy, I can normally stomach a few slices of pizza without issue as long as I have my lactaid. Went to Papa Jays and did just that before realizing I d forgotten my medicine. The bathroom was unlocked fortunately but I tripped over several rats while trying to sit down and ended up spraying all over the place. The worst part is this happened months ago and I ve heard it has not yet been cleaned up. Papa Jay. Please at least try to clear some rats out and for Pete s sake make food that doesn t suck.
