Good pizza but the service staff are a bit under trained. I've been sat out of view of any employees several times which left me waiting forever. They even ran out of slices before noon one day and the wait for a new pizza is way way too long.

My favorite place to eat in Champaign - everything is so good!

One of the best pizza spots in Illinois, even though it takes about an hour to get your pizza it is absolutely worth it.

Excellent pizza. The cook takes his time, but final result is worth the wait.

The best pizza. But just best in the area, it's just the best pizza I've ever had.

First visit in a year. Still not up to the quality of the previous location, although I can taste the sauce/cheese/sausage are the same recipe.

Order was not correct , waitress brought a sub. Pizza which wasn't fully cooked, others recieved order before ours was served. Only wanted to take 5 dollars off after she admitted her fault.

Took forever to get everything. But the food was great.

Every time, no matter if I alone am the only customer there, or we have my wedding party there, it takes literally HOURS to get food! apathetic service. Infuriating. I thought I was on a candid camera show the food took so long...how they stay in business is crazy to me.

We love the deep dish pizza. The new location is really cool with a lot more space and a sports bar atmosphere. And it's walking distance to Memorial Stadium.

Usually great pizza, but service was AWFUL. Arrived and ordered and have been there multiple times and am well aware and content of waiting 45-50 minutes but we opted to leave after our server had no estimate of how much longer of a wait there would be after we had sat for an hour and 45 minutes! Only got our watered refilled ONCE in the time frame, server was NOWHERE to be found. Everyone in the restaurant was echoing the same and very upset, the manager came out and seemed to be angrily yelling at the customers for THEIR frustration. Great food, but not worth the blatant disrespect and lack of customer service. If your pizza is going to take exponentially longer than usual, how about you let me know and save me the hour and 45 minutes of my life I m not getting back. To make matters worse, we weren t even compensated for the appetizer we ordered prior. No explanation, a half hearted apology, and no incentive to return. Given this, I won t be coming back here!

Great pizza place. Get a booth and have a slow meal with friends. If only they had Coke instead of Pepsi, then this would be a dream. Get their thin crust, much better than their deep dish.

We have gone to Papa Dels for years. The pizza is usually great. Unfortunately they know how good they are and don't care when you have wait over 2.5 hours for a pizza. I was lied to and told it would be ready in an hour . I just called, was told they are very busy so I guess I'm supposed to understand and accept being grossly inconvenienced. They did not offer to adjust the bill. I will no longer recommend them to the many friends of mine who have kids in college here. Terrible service. Not worth the wait.

Very tasty and you know it's being made fresh since it takes awhile to cook and then comes out piping hot

This is a nice restaurant and is mostly famous for it s pizzas. I had the stuffed mushroom and it was very tasty. The wait time is long regardless of what you get but it was something they will notify you about. The pizza was good too and it was a lot!

A Champaign classic; some of the best Chicago style pizza anywhere (yes, sorry, including even Chicago!). Come early for dinner and you might be lucky enough to run into Papa.

The food Is definitely 5 stars. The only reason I m giving it 3 stars is because of the inconsistent service. Quite often I have gone and gotten poor service from wait staff...can t find them, talking about getting drunk near my kids, annoyed when you ask questions, etc. Sometimes the staff seem so ridiculously apathetic. Their carry out frozen pizza is actually pretty good, so maybe get that to avoid wait staff.

Great deep dish pizza and for a reasonable price too!

We visted for the first time yesterday and will not be returning. I called on Thursday just to give them a heads up that we would have a party of 19+. I knew that they didnt take reservations was just being nice. The perdon that answered the phone was very rude...I should have known then what our visit was going to be like. They accomidated our party but must have given us the rudest waiter that they have. You could tell that he didnt want to wait on us. He had a very bad attitude and was slow on waiting on us. It took almost 1 1/2 hours for our pizzas to get done. We knew it could take awhile but the thin pizzas arrived 10-15 minutes after the deep pan pizzas. We asked for to go containers that took 15 minutes. I had to ask another waiter for those. But it sure didnt take him long to bring our bills to the table with a 15% tip added to it. He was not worth the 15%. Pizza was good but on the cold side when is was finally delivered.

The pizza was good, but the table was dirty and we even ordered ahead so they knew we were coming. The $7 toasted ravioli appetizer only came with six pieces of ravioli. The cheesy garlic bread only had cheese on about half of the pieces that we received. the garlic donut appetizer should probably be renamed, it's not a donut but that's what people think it is whenever they read the description in the menu.

The super deep dish pizza was awesome and just as good as some I've had in Chicago. We had a huge group and they did a great job serving us.

I didn't even want to give one star but it's that only way I could post this. Have yet to eat there due to the long wait. I do understand that they just relocated and opened but the wait times are way too long! The first time we went we were told by the very rude hostess that it would be a1hr wait which we were fine with but then he said to me hey you yea it's going to be a 2hr wait for your pizza once your seated. Now that means we would have to wait 3hr before we could even eat!! Wow!! The other two times same scenario. Today I called to see if they could let me know what the typical wait time would be for a table for 10 at lunch time the guy say 45min. I then asked if we could reserve a table and he said no but once again he was not pleasant on the phone. They need to teach their hostess some people skills. They should great their guest with a nice smile and say hello and not look at you crazy and ask how many rude.

We always loved Papa Del's we try going there weekly food is very filling prices for fair atmosphere is great and then there Sami or waitress what a hoot

We remembered that 19 years ago, when we lived here, this was the best pizza on earth.

It still might be.

Salad was good and fresh, and had some of the best olives (green and black) anywhere.

There was a small kitchen mix-up or I would have given it 5 very happy stars.

Good pizza. Make sure to call ahead and put in order for deep or stuffed pizza.

Damn Papa, why won't you deliver to a little south of Old Church Rd. in Pararie Meadows? I am so profoundly sad.

We love the pizza, but man is the service terrible right now. Ordered carry out last night and was put on hold for 15 minutes. We were told the there was a 1:45 wait, but ordered anyway and gave them an extra 10 minutes before showing up. Pizza was finally brought up 30 minutes later and the order was wrong...needless to say we were not happy, but it ended up being free.

40 year patron of Papa Dels. I intentionally get a nearby hotel while in town on business. 2.6 miles on the same street they won't deliver.

One hour for a pizza, no problem. Two and half hours and then it's burnt I have an issue with.

This place is awesome. I'm a big guy and I can only eat 2 slices of the Original Sicilian. Sausage is as big as my thumb! Beer is ice cold. A must have in Champaign-Urbana

Great service & amazing pizza! Got to meet Pops, himself, and he was so welcoming and genuine. Loved our waitress, and the new location at old Coca Cola Bottling Co is awesome...doing a great job of renovating!

Excellent Chicago style pizza. We drive over 45 minutes just to pick up a pizza.

Went to eat after a volleyball event for my children to find it packed. Expected to be there for hours but was quickly given a buzzer and the opportunity to preorder my pizza with a young man who was juggling phone calls and customers. He made every customer feel that they were the main attention although he had a million other things going on. He made the whole process simple and got everyone in my group dealt with quickly making sure to leave no question unanswered. He got the pizza orders in, refilled our drinks when the bar was busy and we even saw him run pizzas and other foods out to tables!

After the long wait we got seated and was able to enjoy the nice pizza with the help of our wonderful waitress. Thank you papa dels for accommodating our large group and for the wonderful food!

Will definitely be coming back when it isnt so busy and hectic.

Great things come to those who wait. Yes, it take time to make your pizza but its like Christmas morning. The new location is so nice. Compared to the old location, located on Green. You wouldn't think there was a pizza place there. The new place as a lot more parking. The pizza is literally my favorite thing to eat!

I have been coming to papa dels on both green and their new location for 10+ years. The pizza is decent but there is one iron clad rule when dealing with this place. Your food will never be on time. You can order carry out and be told it will take an hour and show up 1 hour and 40 minutes later and they will still not have it done. Would only suggest this place if you are truly desperate for deep dish

I ordered a delivery at 10:18 PM today and they never brought the pizza.

The pizza is good but I stopped eating it because every time I have gotten it, Including the slices, THERE WAS A HAIR IN IT!!!! As a result my son will no longer eat it either! He was the one that had a hair in his pizza. It used to be better but they need to wear hair nets or something!

Waitress had no idea what soft drinks they served. Asked me 2 remind her 2 order my food in 20 min. Had no idea what soups they had. Bathrooms were disgusting. I ended up not eating anything because she never came back 2 order or refill drinks....

Didn't like it too greasy had to wait over 1 hour. Will NEVER GO BACK Plus too DAMN EXPENSIVE
