Pala Mesa Resort Review

After we arrived at night we were immediately met with the pungent smell of an old hotel. After turning on the lights in our unit we could understand why. This hotel was dirty, had stained carpeting THROUGHOUT, a sink drain plug that continually plugged, spider webs in several locations, old and warn out furniture, a bathroom exhaust fan that didn t function, no in-room safe, decades-old decor, and 4 hangers total to hang our clothes with. No wi-fi, no USB ports or cables to charge any modern phones with, and rotted wood everywhere around the grounds. Staff is tired of hearing all of the negative comments about the rooms, grounds, and lodge condition.

Pretty cool place, overall. Accommodations are nice, spacious, and clean, but dated. Staff is helpful and the food is above average. Wi-fi is not great and cell service/data was non-existent in my room, which was a nuisance to say the least. The resort is scheduled for a remodel by Hilton or Hyatt, which should address the minor issues mentioned and once complete I would give it an xtra star.

This place is surprisingly great. Not much to look at from the street but once inside its fantastic. I recommend the restaurant patio that has a view of the golf course. Good is great, live music sometimes, and good service.

Famliy Holiday dinner . Great and what a work saver.

The room and lobby were nice. However, the cleaning lady did very minimal, only replacing towels and making the bed. Did not empty trash cans ir replace the water bottles. No vending machines to purchase beverages nearby. Shower very small. May improve once remodel by Hilton is complete.

Outstanding. Love everything about this place. I went there second time to place golf with my buddies. Everyone is so nice and helpful, their staff should get bonuses every week! Rooms are great, seemed to be renovated with nice views. I especially liked Aquaterra Live Music Friday - my favorite.

Excellent staff. great restaurant. lovely outside patio that overlooks the green and has a fire pit. live music on the weekend.

Great value golf. Tight fairways flanked by OB. Fast greens. Great staff.

We were given the Pala Mesa Aqua Terra Mother's Day pick-up curbside brunch as a gift. It was right on time, delicious and had lots of food. My grown "kids" ordered it from out of town and the manager, Thomas Martin, could not have been nicer or more professional. The brunch order also had a beautiful floral bouquet that my family ordered to make it extra special. Finally, the chef came out to the car to thank and greet us! Five stars for Pala Mesa Resort :)

Had an amazing stay at Pala Mesa..The golf course was in good shape, the couples retreat was very nice.

A really nice place stay at, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming renovations.

My hysband and I stayed here while in town for a wedding at Los Willows. The location was perfect, the staff was friendly and accomadating, and the grounds were beautiful. I found the resort on priceline and booked a king bed for only $99. When we arrived, we were informed I had booked a room with two queen beds. I was disappointed they had no king standard for the two nights we would be staying. However, they did find a excutive suite without a working landline that they offered at the same price! We were pleasantly suprised and impressed with the upgrade. The room was clean, modern and nicely kept up. We walked around the grounds and found it very nicely kept, unlike some of the reviews i had read. On sunday morming we ate at there restaurant. We paid 13/per person for a breakfasr buffett that included coffee and an omlet bar. The food was good and there were a ton of options. The waitress was friendly and most importantly, the coffee was hot, fresh and good!

They had an infestation of ants during my stay. My family and I had 3 rooms here and all 3 were overtaken by ants. Btw all the rooms were spread out, 2 on the first level, and the other one on the top level. Besides that, awesome service and an absolutely beautiful resort!

Nice course with very cool and updated golf carts with GPS and Bluetooth

Beautiful landscaping, fantastic food, courteous and helpful staff. A daily visit is like "an apple a day".

Went for Sunday brunch, Great Service, food was good. Bottomless Mimosas were nice too.

The grounds are nice but it ends there. This was nice back in the 50s I'm sure but very outdated and rooms smells like mold. Dinner was decent and prices only a little high but drinks were outrageous as we found. $20 for a double crowne and Coke. Really? The view was great but bring your own cocktails!! Holy crap.

Golf course is well kept. Would give 5 stars if they didn't shutdown the cafe for food and drinks before we finished the front 9. Should remain open until at least until the last group finishes the front.

My son and his wife had their wedding at the Pala Mesa and the venue is absolutly beautiful and the staff get helpful and professional.

I enjoy the old smell of vintage hotels. The rooms are very roomy and have a uniqueness about them.

Overall good experience. The course is usually kept in great shape. One or two tight holes but not overly long. A number of the greens have significant slopes that are challenging. One of my favorites in the area. The resort has a well kept bar and restaurant.

My wife and I go there to play golf and do the stay and play just to get away. It has always been a pleasant stay, serene, quaint and quiet hide away. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Upon a recent visit, we had a small problem with a sandwich in the bar area, we brought this to the attention of staff and they said they could address it the next day it was near of closing time, which we were okay with. The next day we recieved a call at our room and the resort chef followed up on the complaint and invited us to a complimentary lunch upon checkout. The chef went above and beyond to please us and we were more than satisfied and appreciative of the attention and service we recieved. We would definitely return for another stay and enjoy the fine meals and desserts.

Was in room 412. Very nice end-unit room with apparantly vintage ceiling rafters and 1x8 T&G decking a treat to look at coming from a couple with structural engineering in our pedigree. Coming from a 6'-4" tall guy, I did feel the shower head was a bit low for me, but I get used to that wherever we go. We came down for a family wedding at a nearby venue. If I wanted to come back to a place where you truly felt like you were away from the city, this would be tops on the list. Best of luck on your facelift in progress and I hope that future visitors will be impressed.

This place is very nice the staff are friendly and accommodating, very beautiful day or night.

This is just from a spectator point of view. Our friends had their wedding ceremony here and we really enjoyed the experience. Great, friendly staff and picturesque scenery.

Came here with family for the brunch at their clubhouse. Good food, good service, with nicely landscaped greens and a cool water feature.

Gorgeous mid December day in mid 70s, that's temperature, not my score. Fairways in good condition, greens very good and a bit faster than other courses in the area.

Nice open easy hang out place...Also great for weddings

The restaurant has some good food but the service is slow.

The room was not very clean there was a glob of hair in the sink, the bathroom counter was cracked (major). Looks like they tried to fill the crack with putty, you could still see right thru the crack.
Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful facility
to visit.

Beautiful resort that is huge and clean. All the staff are very polite and helpful. The food was all really good. The rooms and facilities are all great and i really recommend staying here if your in the area.

Beautiful resort surrounded by green rolling hills. The room had a beautiful vaulted ceiling, sturdy armoire that held the flat screen tv, and mini fridge.
They also had a keurig coffee maker, and a nice little vanity outside the bathroom, the room was spacious and very clean.
Room service available, large bathroom. The view from the window of our room we could see the lush green course. The grounds were kept up beautifully. And I love the seventies chic vibe they have going on there,very calm and peaceful and quiet would love to stay again

Beautiful place but our room had the sweet smell of mildew, cigarette burn holes in the bedding , gas leak outside our door and a broken ice machine flooded the entrance. Plumbing was horrible I flushed a terd and somebody else's came back up(I don't eat corn)! Could be nice place but needs work,

Under new management, course has slipped and resort is needs TLC.

The Aqua Terra restaurant was very good. Better than expected for food and dessert (especially their brownie birthday cake). Servers were nice and polite. Good atmosphere and views of the gardens. Will come back.

Clean, comfortable atmosphere & resonible with excellent services.

Service and food was good. Community building in fair shape. Heating and cooling subject to irregular temperatures...too honey and too cold. Rooms are clean, but need remodeling. Landscaping beautiful.

I wouldnt spend more then $35 on this course. My dad booked us a round here in advance for $60. I thought that was a good price since they wanted $80 originally. Then when you wake up the morning to play there they have deals for $40 even $27 for a hott deal. It wasnt a horrible course. The fairways need work. Some of the holes are boring. Some are cool on the back 9. I would just say dont worry about booking in advance here. Wait to find a good deal.

It's a good place and have a lot space for parking

Best choice in Fallbrook. Suite rooms are worth the upgrade. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus are diverse and well-prepared. Patio seating outdoors is relaxing with terrific golf course views. Frequent live music! A fun venue in Fallbrook. Easy to eat gluten free.

Course is always in good condition, look for special they are available. Tough to score well very challenging.

Pala Mesa Resort is the best place if any to ever have any sort of event rather you're being being married renewing your vows are having a special event the staff is excellent catering is beyond any other expectations
