Diane Torres and Mary-ann Vesti were rude and uncompassionate when handling my Grandmother's reinstatement back into their facility after she was hospitalized due to a UTI that occurred under Ozanam Hall's care. It's a shame that they are the face of admissions and the first people you have to "deal" with during such an emotional time. Diane Torres wouldn't event meet with me in her office, but instead rolled her eyes and berated me in the public parlor room in front of guests and residents as I was just trying to plead my grandmother's case in tears. This all happened while Sister Joseph Catherine and Sister Philip Ann were on vacation. When I called to speak with them, the Sister in charge made it very clear that it was "key" to pay the bed holding fee that is over $500.00 per day. This is quite contrary to the Carmelite Sisters beliefs and dear Mother Teresa when caring for the elderly. I hope that his information can help others who are in such a trying and emotional time of their lives as I was when I had to put my loving Grandmother in a long-term care facility.
Was there for Rehab and IV antibiotics. Excellent care and service. The Religious Sisters are wonderful. Beautiful facility. Food was good .Dr. Rappa is wonderful.
Lovely place. My FIL has been here twice in 3 years. It s super clean, comfortable and friendly. It s been a home away from home for him while he rehabs.
Mom is here...Carmelite charism and care help me to know mom is in loving hands.
It's been about 8 months since my family and I made the difficult decision for our mom to live at Ozanam Hall. I have had many experiences in these months: with the residents, staff and other family members. Most have been just wonderful! But I am compelled to write this review today because when I arrived this afternoon, my mom needed "serious" help in the bathroom (no details!). One of the CNA's left from her "break time" to assist my mom.... and she was not even her assigned CNA! Amazing! Another recent experience... On Thanksgiving, we were bringing my mom to my house for the first time. My brother and husband picked her up, and when she arrived at my house, I was shocked to see that her hair had been set in rollers that morning... she looked like her old self! Again, the CNA took the time to do this...how wonderful! The nurses and rehab listen to the family... to work out medications, personal habits and needs! The administrative staff are all so pleasant, again, eager to help the resident and the family. The dogs and cats add to the feeling of "home" and... the nuns are everywhere.... to comfort, to help, to make a joke, and of course, to offer communion! There have been a couple of snags along the way... let's be realistic.....but at the end of the day, we made the right decision for our mom and I am grateful to have Ozanam to care for the person who always cared for us!
Hurrible experience with my mom Beatriz Chacon. She went in for a fall. She was in rehab. My mom would call me or my sister every night. She needed to go to the bathroom but they wouldn't come for hours. Than to top it off she gets a stroke, they continued to give her rehab. The head of PT is a layer hurrible person. I make it there second day she said "I cant feel my hands!, they took my dish away and I didnt eat", she couldn't walk. How do you not notice, her voice was muffally and her mouth twisted. My husband reported this to management we never got a call. We were rrcommanded and were even doing paperwork to leave her there for long term care. Glad we did not leave her in this hurrible on professional place. So now we have to deal with more health issues with our mom. Don't put your loved once in this hall hole r! The nuns don't care either!
I would NEVER ever recommend OZANAM Hall to anyone ! Understaffed some Aides and Nurses are wonderful and caring. Others don't care at all and the patient suffers. No one cleaned bathrooms in the room of two. No one swept floors in rooms of paper an other articles. It was very disappointing. I am sorry my relative was subjected to this. Social Workers dropped the ball..... it is all about the $$$$$$$$
More then one staff member smell like alcohol what a shame for management
A family member is at Ozanam right now and having a very difficult time. The staff is not helpful and more importantly not there when needed. The food also not acceptable. Years ago I had favorable reports from my family. Such a shame that it seems no longer. My Mom even worked for several years at the gift shop.
Service is pretty good, but helpers can be extremely rude and disrespectful to the elderly.
My mother has been a resident at Ozanam Hall for almost three years. During that time, she experienced a serious illness and the staff was instrumentally in her recovery. The facilty is first rate.
