It's been about 8 months since my family and I mad...

It's been about 8 months since my family and I made the difficult decision for our mom to live at Ozanam Hall. I have had many experiences in these months: with the residents, staff and other family members. Most have been just wonderful! But I am compelled to write this review today because when I arrived this afternoon, my mom needed "serious" help in the bathroom (no details!). One of the CNA's left from her "break time" to assist my mom.... and she was not even her assigned CNA! Amazing! Another recent experience... On Thanksgiving, we were bringing my mom to my house for the first time. My brother and husband picked her up, and when she arrived at my house, I was shocked to see that her hair had been set in rollers that morning... she looked like her old self! Again, the CNA took the time to do this...how wonderful! The nurses and rehab listen to the family... to work out medications, personal habits and needs! The administrative staff are all so pleasant, again, eager to help the resident and the family. The dogs and cats add to the feeling of "home" and... the nuns are everywhere.... to comfort, to help, to make a joke, and of course, to offer communion! There have been a couple of snags along the way... let's be realistic.....but at the end of the day, we made the right decision for our mom and I am grateful to have Ozanam to care for the person who always cared for us!
