Other than the scheduling representative directing me to the wrong place for check in, the visit was just fine. The staff members with whom I interacted (all happened to be females) were quite pleasant and helpful.

We arrived at 5pm after being transferred from the hospital in the town we are from. It's a 2 hour drive and it took us about an hour to get our kids and things in order so they had 3 hours prior notice that we would be arriving. We had a room number and were told we would be immediately taken to the room upon arrival. Not only did we wait for nearly an hour in the waiting room but our room number was changed 4 times and by the time my husband finally got the appropriate care it had been 5 1/2 hours with no pain meds on board and he hadn't eaten at all. At no point did they try to make sure that he was at least fed but did tell me there was a vending machine down the hall! Are you kidding me?! Even in our rural area we wouldn't have ever had to deal with any of these issues. If we need to stay under care any longer we will be getting a transfer to KU med!

The wait was longer than expected, which proved stressful with an infant. But once we were taken back for our appointment, the specialist was nothing but professional, knowledgeable and informative. The best part was when we left and he carried my infant (in his car seat) all the way to the front door of the hospital so I didn't have to. Such a gentleman... above and beyond his job requirements!

Very pleased with the visit. Had a CT scan, the radiologist was fantastic. She explained everything that she would do, and informed me of what I would experience. I told her that I was hearing impaired and she accommodated my needs.

I recently spent a night at OPRMC and I couldn't have felt more satisfied and confident that I was in the best care. I was attended to quickly in the ER and once upstairs, I received excellent treatment by every caregiver from the attending Drs, nurses, lab techs, social worker, food service and housekeeping. They all paid me a visit and were each very polite and helpful. The food was varied, hot and delicious. I appreciated their ability to accommodate my vegan diet. The room itself was large, bright with windows, and clean. While I hope to never have another reason to be in the hospital, I'll definitely come here again.

I gave birth to my first at OP 3 years ago and the experience was just ok. The delivery nurses were great but the after care nurses were just ok and not very patient. This time when I gave birth to my second, everything was so nice. Our night nurse Miranda in after care was amazing. So knowledgeable and helpful. I was so glad and thankful we had her 3 nights we were there. I felt the nurses were much more knowledgeable this time with breastfeeding vs 3 years ago. My only complaints is when it came to billing. I was not impressed when I got a bill telling me to pay $1300 about 3 weeks BEFORE I even had my child. I understand this is how a lot of hospitals are running now but to just send me a $1300 bill without any explanation of what standard charges might be I thought was just ridiculous! When I called to inquire about it, the lady in billing was very rude and acted like I was crazy for not wanting to pay the $1300 no questions asked. Then for someone to come to my room within 24hrs of having my son via c-section asking for money yet again I just thought was so rude and pushy! Not to mention when my visit was all said and done and everything was ran through insurance, I only actually owed $400 to OPR. Had I paid the $1300 I'm sure it would have been months before I saw any kind of refund. And with both of my kids, the billing department had issues filling the claims for the baby's portion of charges and was an extra hassle I had to deal with.

From the time I walked in for a scheduled surgery until the time I left the hospital, I received the best care possible! Every person was genuinely helpful and answered all of my questions completely.

Ridiculous...They billed $5,400 to put six staples on a 2 inch cut...It wasn't even bleeding. They washed it and put six staples in...and bill $5,400. Luckily I have good insurance, but without that, I don't know what I would have done. When I called to inquire about the bill, and asked why I wasn't informed it was going to be such an expensive procedure, the lady said, "You could have asked what it was going to cost..."...I will never go back here again. The nursing staff was uncaring and and unprofessional...Only nice person was the billing lady...HA!

Prior to arrivung for a procedure in the radiology department, I was not made aware where out patient registration was located or where I needed to go when I got to the hospital. The day of my procedure I entered through the main entrance and there were no screeners, no one welcomed me or offered to assist me in finding the location I need to go to. It was a very cold environment. I ended up waling all the way to the radiology department, which is quite a ways from the entrance, only to be sent back to the entrance to register. The registration staff were rude, there were three sitting there, and once done I was sent back to radiology. When I was finished with my procedure, I stopped to ask a question at the registration desk and once agaim all three were quite rude and none of them were helping anyone else. I will request any further testing or procedures I may need in the future be done at a different HCA hospital.

Well overall yeah it was okay. I didn't like the fact that I wish there were 10 days and I still had nurses and other people miss gendering me. That's really upsetting when you have time to correction one over and over again. Then I went back for surgery to take metal rods off outside of Lake and put on the inside and somehow I asked you the surgery before the next morning I ended up having a stroke. It was a mild one but none the least. I told one of the nurses there was there was something wrong with me and she would not go get another nurse or a doctor and kept insisting that I was fine. I don't know about y'all but in my opinion I think that nurse did something to me on accident has trying to cover it up. I think she was trying to hurt me. But in general I think they're not a bad Hospital first time I was ever there.

My care was great. However, when I was moved from one room to a second room on my second night at around 9 PM, my hairbrush, toothpaste and toothbrush from home were thrown away. No compensation was ever offered. I realize the monetary value was not a lot, but nothing was ever offered except, "sometimes this happens".

I did feel a bit brushed aside.

My baby has been in the NICU for 8 weeks now. All of the nurses and doctors are so caring and supportive, not just about my daughter but for me and my husband. They all are very knowledgeable about their area of specialty and have put my mind at ease many times.

I was very satisfied with almost everything related to my emergency-room and hospitalizatioin at Overland Park Regional. I was especiaslly pleased with the staff s caring attitude toward patients. Even the food was better than expected. My only criticism is that the rooms are showiing their age a bit, but that would not be enough to discourage me from going back if I need hospital services.

Had major surgery. Everything went well. All healthcare providers were friendly and efficient.
Had minimal pain afterwards. Needed only Tylenol for pain relief. Timeline was what I had been told. One night stay and then home by 1pm next day.

Checkin and my escort were great. Funny and eased my nerves. Wait at second waiting room was over 20 minutes and the tv was defective so it really dragged. Tech was very efficient and professional.
