The ER here got us right in. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Still, I never want to come back.
Being in this hospital is like going to a time-share sales event. Doctor after doctor walk into the room and hand you their card telling you that you need to see them at their office about another procedure. $$$ One Doctor retaliated again me after refusing to give additional blood samples to him. I will never go back to this hospital.
I had an excellent experience with OPRMC for my cardiac surgery. Check-in was effortless. My pre-op nurses were super. My ICU nurses were all excellent.
From the time I entered ER I was treated as if I was the only patient in the hospital. Without a doubt I had the most experienced nurses that exist. When I was moved from the ER to ICU there were five or more nurses waiting for me and with thin five minutes or less they had me ready for the ICU including the most comfortable bed in any hospital including tucked in, medicine given and light turned off. I felt very safe. The only problem was Dr. Pierson who told me that I needed a stress test at the hospital to make sure my heart could handle everyday life. He insisted I have it before I left. I didn t take the test. However, later I felt he was right; I called his office so he could arrange for one that day. I found out the quickest I could get in would be two months or more since I needed an appointment first which proved I either never needed one or he was willing to risk my life because he was pouting. I certainly did not expect such a tantrum form a Doctor with his experience. Either way he was unprofessional and for the first time I felt unsafe in the hospital.
Very happy with the care provided by the entire surgical team for my 80+ year old dad.
We loved our experience. Great nurses and facility. Not the best food but that was the only thing that could use improvement.
The staff is one of the best in KC. My only reason for 4 stars is the food. I admit, it was better with my last visit, but definitely could be improved. I'll still go to this hospital first.
My procedure was completed in without issue and done in a short time.
Best nurses, and staff they know what they are doing...
OP Regional Med Center took excellent care of my son who was in for an out patient surgery. The nurses and doctor were very caring and the entire procedure was an exercise in efficiency. We really appreciated the kindness of all the hospital personnel.
I can only give one star for the fact they did a wonderful job fixing my hubbys arm but a doctor I rather not say did not give my husband any antibiotics after he left the hospital he was injured back in may of this year and he still has infection in his arm after he told the doctor his arm didn't look right and he was still denied antibiotics I had to take him to another hospital where they treated his infection but it still came back never again will I let any doctor touch my husband again its been going on 5 months and he's still got the infection.... Not happy at all not one bit!
Very professional, gave detailed feedback to my questions. Very competent and kind care of me and my wife.
The facility is very clean and neat. The staff is terrific and very friendly. Tracy Johnson was my PT, and she was the BEST!! Not only did she help me physically, but she allowed me to vent, which helped a lot. She was so professional and knowledgeable.
We had a great experience at Overland Park Regional. Every single nurse, doctor, housekeeping, food service provider was friendly and considerate. Thanks for the amazing care.
Doctors and nurses there are great. Very cautious and thorough. Private room was very spacious and quiet. Special thanks to my night nurse Sandy she is AWESOME!! She was very comforting!
We had our son here recently. Wonderful experience from beginning to end, even during the coronavirus pandemic. Highly recommend!
I had the BEST experience with labor and delivery. I was hospitalized on bed rest for 5 days before delivering and the entire nursing staff was so amazing and caring. They even convinced my doctor to let me go outside once a day if my blood pressure was low enough! The food was really good and every employee was just great. The social worker set me up with magazines, coloring books, and crafts to keep me busy during those long days. I will definitely be using this hospital for delivering future children too!
Not a positive experience, starting with my reminder caller who gave me incorrect information about my procedure preparation. I arrived an hour early the day of the procedure, as requested, and was taken to....and left in... the wrong waiting area. After I was found and lab staff started prep work, it became clear that I had been confused with another patient. Doctor who performed the procedure (who wasn't the one scheduled) was almost one and one half hours late. Silver linings? The lab staff members were very nice and the procedure was successful.
Treated me with respect and very professional. Everybody cared about my surgery. Thanks to the team that assisted for health care.
I had a CT scan. Waited a long time. Person working in Radiology Dept. patient window must have been having a bad day. She was quite unpleasant to me and others.
The people here are great. In my time of need they performed like family. What more is there?
THE BEST!
I just had labs done in this visit, everyone in that department does a great job. Everyone I came in contact with was very professional, friendly and did a great job. I was in and out in a very timely fashion. Thank you for all your wor .
Excellent, quality care. They really do put their patience first.
I had my baby there in June. I loved all the help and communication I received from the nurses. No complaints!
Followed ambulance in, they had her cleaned up and x-rayed before I got inside. Very professional. Moving all around my wife so much, I couldn t even see her laying in the bed. Fell down flight of concrete stairs, onto landscapeing brick. Wonderful people in ER .
The food was great and so was the staff thank-you very much
I've been going to this hospital for medical needs from family practice, ob/gyn, to cardiology for 16 years. I had my baby here as well. Love this medical facility and all who work here.
Fantastic experience with every visit! The Sunflower Cafe (cafeteria) has a great selection of hot foods and quick ready made meals as well. Welcoming atmosphere- would definitely recommend this hospital for your care.
There would be ZERO stars if that was an option. I was "treated" by a relatively new, NP, Ashley Kush. Besides being a megalomaniac and extremely patronizing and unprofessional, she was not interested in my significant burns. She never touched me, inspected them, reassured me, no form of empathy and refused to read medical records that I had brought with me to help her understand my genetic response to certain meds, primarily Morphine. I am a 46yo, ex--nurse, who has an extensive medical history of surgeries and drug reactions. She flat out refused to read my papers, listen to me or show one iota of compassion. I was burned so bad that even Josef Mengele would have shown more compassion. I had always known OPRMC to be top notch. This was horrible. She treated me like I had burned myself so I could get drugs.
Our experience in Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby was phenomenal. We felt so cared for and safe! We've also gone back many times for the Breastfeeding Support Group held there, and the staff is always nothing but friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Staff are friendly and the check in process is very efficient. Appointments are always on time, and ample opportunities to ask questions.
I stayed here overnight after having surgery early in the morning. The facility is clean and staff is friendly.
My stay was very pleasant the staff was great anything I needed they were more than happy to help out. Wonderful hospital and a wonderful staff.
Great care while having an outpatient procedure. The RN prepping and caring for me was so kind, gentle, friendly, and well trained. All others taking part were also very helpful, friendly and reassuring that they knew what they were doing and would take good care of me. Everything went very well.
My 1st birthing experience was very amazing, all thanks to my OBGYN Dr. Holly Kaufman and the nursing staff at Overland Park Regional. They were all very efficient, kind and made sure my significant other, my baby and myself was very well taken care of. I recommend anyone who is expecting, to come here.
Go in for chest pains get sent to cardiac ward; they forgot to put batteries in the monitor...oops.
Also forgot to clean out the bedpan from the previous patient, or change the sheets.
Waited very long 1.5 hours for appointment. I understand about emergencies but I also understand you don t communicate at all what s going on. Shame!
Going for a biopsy is a nerve wracking, difficult thing to do. I messed up my scheduled day by showing up when my procedure was supposed to start vs 30 minutes early. The gal at the front desk was incredibly rude when she told me that they wouldn t be able to do it. Feeling bad that I misunderstood the timing, I assumed they were just a tightly run ship and that I was 100% at fault. She could have been kind though. She wasn t. Fast forward to the MONTH later when I was able to reschedule...I get there an hour early (to be on the safe side and traffic was light). I wait past the 30 minutes early, past the scheduled time of my procedure, and almost 30 minutes later, I get called back. Same girl, same annoyance and rude attitude. Maybe she s a really hard worker. Maybe she has her own problems she is dealing with, but, she shouldn t have the job of being the first person someone talks to when they are getting a biopsy for cancer. The scheduler was amazing, the doctors TOP NOTCH...this gal behind the glass made my experience more traumatic than necessary. Not looking forward to my 6 month re-check. But, my biopsy came back negative for cancer...so, life is good. Hope this feedback helps the girl behind the glass realize the impact her attitude can have on a patients experience and that the works to put on a more empathetic, cheerful, hopeful face.
Walked in with stomach pain and left without a gallbladder. From the moment I walked in until the second I left I was treated like royalty! They made me feel so comfortable and let me know what was going on every step of the way. I usually have pretty bad anxiety and knowing I needed surgery the same day would usually have made me go into a panic! Nope not that day the staff was great! I have never felt so comfortable at the hospital ever in my life! The staff on the women s surgery unit were all so sweet and caring. Especially my night nurse she was just so sweet! Even Clover who brought me food even though I didn t have an appetite. I just want to say thank you all for treating me so well during my stay keep doing what you re doin because you ve made a lasting impression on me. -Miranda Dean
My wife and I had an emergency while visiting from out of town. She was severely sick and became dehydrated due to her sickness while being pregnant. The treatment received was fine (although the hospital was practically empty and we still waited a really long time before she was even seen). The billing practices here can only be described as evil. For an emergency situation that needed to be addressed immediately, they have sent us three bills, increasing how much we owe each time. We keep directing them to negotiate with our insurance, they do and then send us a higher bill. it went from around $1,000 to about $7,000 (we got to the hospital around 11pm so being the fantastic people they are, are charging us for two days of service). We double checked with our insurance who are telling us that they had told the hospital to not to send us further bills. We can only suspect we are getting targeted because we were in from out of state (which is awful because it makes it harder for us to deal with them). These kinds of billing practices are horrendous, getting a $7,000 dollar bill when the only treatment that we received was essentially getting fluids is ridiculous, it makes you feel like the hospital would prefer to have you die than actually treat you for a reasonable price. I will never go back to this hospital.
Tracy in outpatient physical therapy is amazing. I don't know what I would do without her. My progression with daily activities has increased so much.
Best hospital in our area super friendly and they saved my life
Staff was friendly. Customer service was excellent. I highly recommend Overland Park Regional.
I had a cardio scan. I was escorted to the radiology department and only waited a few minutes. The young woman who performed the scan explained everything to me. She was very nice and professional. The scan was completed quickly. The overall experience was a very positive one.
The billing department for this hospital is extremely frustrating and utterly disappointing. They would not correct their double billing issues even after my insurance company had contacted and communicated with them multiple times. It was initially corrected after four months of communicating, then same bills came back again in two months! How difficult is it to put somebody who is somewhat intelligent to resolve these mistakes???
The worst care I have ever witnessed in my 16 years as a medical professional. From the time we walked in the ER till discharge from 4th floor Med surg was awful! Will never take a loved one back to OPRMC after the obsene amount of medical errors I witnessed and the POOR POOR nursing care! Get it together HCA!!! If I could give zero stars I would!
I went to Overland Park regional for a breast biopsy. The check in was rather strange because I had to go to one office down the hall from where the mammograms were in order to check in. The whole floor of the building was rather dismal and not comforting.I was also told to come 30 minutes ahead of time and the check in process took less than five minutes, which meant I had to wait way too long at a stressful time. However, the employees were very nice and professional.
I went in for a stress test. Fortunately I was served by two very intuitive health professionals - Angie & Megan. After reviewing the conditions present, a LifeVest, they determined it was not the time to rev up my heart. Angie called later in the day to confirm their decision. I am thankful for the training a high degree of caring professionalism they displayed. Thank you Angie and Megan, Jerome Fink
I had a knee replacement. There was a sign on my wall that said Comfort is our Goal . I can assure you that is not their goal. I m sure they would have been ok with my Comfort had it accidentally been achieved, but it was not. I checked out of that place ASAP so I could come home and actually become comfortable. I actually asked them what the rules of the road for pressing the nurse call button was. I explained that I m not trying to complain and that if the expectation that it takes 30+ minutes to come into the room that I could work with that. They seemed bewildered that I asked that....one nurse in particular who never arrived before 35-40 min said it should never take more then a couple of mins. This was the nurse that continually took more than 30 min every time. What a joke. These people couldn t even bring 2 Tylenol to me without an hour passing and numerous phone calls to some very important people.
Checked in quickly. Everyone was very nice. I felt comfortable and was able to get in and out quickly.
My stay was great the staff was very great, thank you guys for everything.
I m responding as Karen with Brad being the primary insurance holder. Wonderful experience - felt very well taken care of. Nurses, Drs, techs, cafeteria workers all were excellent. Would like to give an extra shout- out to my night nurse Kylee. She seemed as invested in keeping me pain- free as I was. I was in a a lot of pain & felt comfortable with my husband leaving - as I knew I was in great hands.
Honestly, I don t know how they hire their people but every single person we interacted with over our 5 days at OPRMC was so kind & helpful! My husband and I both felt so cared for after my C Section. My only disappointment is that we won t be living in this area to deliver our future children at OPRMC!
The ICU staff is great along with all the nurses and support staff. The foods not bad either. Lol
I was treated like a Queen y'all!!! Special thanks to my wonderful nurse Keysis in post op recovery!!!!
Great hospital. Went there for a stress test. Everyone from the front door to the test area very careful. Took your temperature wore cloves. Felt very safe and comfortable.
They were ready for me when I arrived and were very pleasant and knowledgeable.
I have been in Overland Regional several times. Every time I received the best of care. I will not go to any other hospital. I was there again. They gave me the best of care.
The College Park Imaging staff are always caring, professional and compassionate!
Excellent excellent excellent! From the Surgery group and operating personnel to the guy that took my dinner order. Everyone was top notch! I felt very well cared for in a safe. caring, sterile environment.
The caring and professionalism is exemplified when we had to stay at Overland Park Regional Medical Center again. From the ER to the telemetry wing of the hospital is well run. Our nurses were thorough but friendly.
The staff is incredible and make you feel at home! Nurses are very attentive and friendly.
We had the best experience delivering our daughter at OPR! We couldn t have asked for better nurses, residents, or doctors! Our stay was short but we got the best care! I would definitely recommend them for labor and delivery!
I was born there and I was three months early you guys kept me alive and well for three months thank you so much I'm twelve and still alive and well
I recently had hip replacement surgery. It was a good experience.
I just had to pay an obscene amount of money for an echocardiogram at Overland Park Regional. I paid a little over $1800 (insurance-adjusted value). This is after my husband called and got a discount of 10% for paying everything at once. My last echocardiogram was 3 years ago at Menorah, and I paid $800. In addition, Overland Park required $300 upfront and gave no indication that it was a deposit, so I assumed the procedure was $300 only to receive a later bill for an additional $1800.
The Pediatric Unit is wonderful! So caring and attentive and sensitive to the needs of our family.
Another excellent experience at OPRMC. All staff who took care of me, especially the labor and delivery and mother/baby nurses, and the hospital services as well, were exceptional. An added bonus is the food is great too. This is the fourth baby I have delivered at this hospital and each experience has been amazing. Thank you OPRMC for taking good care of me and my family when we visited.
If it would be possible to score it negative stars I would. Beyond horrible experience from my daughter spending the worst 2 weeks in ICU(I think the Jackson County Jail provides better healthcare) to adding insult to injury when it comes to the crooked billing(and I have great health insurance!). I express my fear and worry anytime someone I know mentions the fact they are considering a stay there or they have a relative staying there. Do your research. Avoid this hospital. My daughter did do Outpatient Therapy there only because they had a therapist that specialized in what she needed and it was close to home. The Outpatient Therapy was great.... but it does not include nursing so I knew she would be safe. There is not enough time or space to explain the numerous problems that we faced and after I shared my story through social media I came to find out I clearly was not the only one.
Dexa scan tech was great. Everyone at Imaging center is top notch. I know because I've been there 6 times in the past 6 months!
Use Overland Park Regional for knee replacement! Excellent care also PT pre, post, and home caring and effective!
Emergency room was really slow to get into. Then when I was ready to leave the room the nurses pretty much abandoned me when I needed help carrying a bag since I just had a myomectomy. I pressed the nurse button and nobody answered but not so surprising since the technology in general at OPR doesn't work and left me pressing for a nurse after surgery for 15 minutes only to find the call button on the side of the bed didn't work.
Very professional, timely, helpful. Took us right to imaging.
My recent visit to the Overland Park Regional Hospital went very well. I got immediate care & was stabilized. All of the medical staff were very professional and made me feel assured that I was receiving good care. They were also very considerate of my wife.
Fantastic, polite, professional service and care is what I experienced with my last visit. Would highly recommend OPRMC to anyone in need of hospital care or treatment.
Thank you
My initial visit to OPR was in mid-November for back surgery that ended up with a staph infection which caused me to return two more times both of which ended up in admission and very unpleasant experiences. The communication between departments, doctors, nurses and patients is abysmal. Everyone seems more interested in checking a box on the status whiteboard than paying attention to their surroundings. All of the nurses are very young, seem quite inexperienced and are backed up by assistants that appear to have very little understanding of what they are doing. I was on fluid IV and blood pressure monitor, each time I needed assistance un hooking to use the restroom one of the nurse assistant would come in and I almost always had to remind them to reconnect the equipment before they left. i could go on, but in summary I will avoid this facility in the future.
Really smooth check-in process with helpful staff. Quick and timely. I would trust them to handle a routine medical procedure.
The staff is great! The FOOD is not edible never has been . They don't offer a menu, they give you the "special". I would not feed this food to any one, let alone a patient.
Everyone is very polite, helpful and professional! I was seen on time and my procedure was completed quickly.
Went in for diabetes classroom education only. Arrived 15 minutes early as requested with all paperwork completed. Threw at me a 5 page fine print legal document with no time to read. Staff indicated they were told not to make this document available ahead of time. Now read this carefully, here is what the document required me to approve for a sit down class: I agreed to sedation, removal of any organ, any despoliation of that organ of their choosing and all at my expense.
That means that they could, by my permission, during the class, sedate me, remove my liver, cut it in one inch squares, and pass out the pieces at the Oak Park Mall. And I would have to pay for it all.
I crossed out this paragraph, initialed it, signed the form, and turned it in. At the end of class they had instruction from Hospital management to ask me to not return.
By the way, the one class (of three, I believe) was very good and well done.
Service was good BUT THEY APPEARENTLY DON'T STORE ALL YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS. I called to get my xray done at this hospital. (only 1 other hospital had an xray on my finger) I got 4 xrays done here and only 1 showed up for my elbow.
Overland Park Medical Center was the best place I could have had my baby! Anyone having a baby should have it here. The staff went above & beyond for us, they became family & truly took care of us in our time of need! These people are beyond amazing ! I seriously can't say enough good things about them & their facility! They literally saved our lives.
Fantastic and personal care from a staff that I will miss.
I felt well taken care of by organised caring seadoned professionals.
I am from out of town and came through the ER/Trauma center after a bicycle accident. I have previously worked in the healthcare field and have had multiple experiences with ER's and hospitals. I can say unequivocally that from the moment i came through the ER/Trauma center doors I had the best care I have had with any healthcare experience. Admissions, nurses, Doctors, Techs, housekeeping and meal service - all 5 stars! I ended up on the Ortho-Neuro-Trauma floor for 7 days and I have nothing but 5 Star comments for the entire staff on that floor as well. Thank you for getting my healing process off to a great start and for the outstanding care you gave me!
I spent 5 hours getting a total of 30 minutes of care from nurses and the doctor. I went hours without anyone checking on me. Come to find out later from my personal doctor they did find an abnormal but I was told at the time was different. Don t go unless you have to.
Had a baby brought into this world on 03/16/2016
Beautiful baby boy. However the staff at this hospital are horrible and you should take your business else where. They will make up symptoms and tell you that they are keeping your child for observation for 6 days While some nurses at this hospital were being honest they couldn't believe what they were trying to do to us . These people will milk the insurance company for all that it's worth and keep you in the dark. Stay away from here.
My phlebotomist was very kind and professional. I would recommend Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
I was in the ER and operating room today. The nurses and doctors and everyone else were so helpful and reassuring.
