I had great care from the nursing staff in both ICU and the Telemetry wing after some minor heart surgery.
Thank you to all that were involved in my care. The staff are friendly and caring. Opt emergency staff is amazing! I will be forever grateful for the exceptional care I received when hospitalised!!
This is a very nice facility. They took very good care of me after my accident. The trauma center is very roomy and they allowed my wife and a friend to be in there while the doctors worked on me.
Since I first wrote this review, I have had to deal with the financial people related to the facility. This experience has not been as positive. My opinion is that they are third party and are basically hard nosed money pinching bill collectors. They have been rude and uncaring toward me.
My procedure went well and my nursing staff was amazing. However I told everyone I came in contact with that I don't do well with anesthesia and have severe nausea/vomiting from it including telling the anesthesiologist. I emphasized that I needed to be pre/post medicated to counteract this. I was told no problem before the procedure and that the anesthesia being used also had an anti-nausea property to it. BUT waking up in recovery I found out that they did NOTHING!! Spent 4 hours in recovery vomiting.... my recovery nurse did everything she could, but it should not have happened. It is unacceptable to be blatantly ignored by the anesthesia staff.
What I like most about OP Regional is you don t have to wait in the emergency room for hours to be treated. You are taken right into a room.
The staff was amazing. They were so polite and helpful, I actually miss being there now that I m home with my newborn lol. My only complaint wouldn t be about the actual hospital but the photographer. She didn t show up until we were leaving, LITERALLY we were dressed bringing our bags downstairs and that s when she showed up so obviously I opted not to do the photos because it was time to go which kinda sucked
Had a wonderful experience at OPR medical center, Dr. Stone delivered my twins 3 years ago- She is experienced and exceptional! Best MD in town. This year 2017, Dr. Sorrell delivered my baby- She is kind and always with a smile! Larissa, L&D nurse was exceptional, full of energy and compassion. I would highly recommend this hospital.
I truly couldn't have asked for better nurses or accommodations! We drive 1.5 hours to make sure our births are exactly what we hope for: with a midwife and an experience to cherish for a lifetime!
Very caring staff put you at ease knowing you are getting the best care possible.
Dr Stites is absolutely amazing, I underwent a successful surgery and had to stay night and 3 days in the hospital. She checked on me every morning, which made me feel very comforted. My nurses were absolutely awesome, very nice, and attentive. And the food was pretty good and so convenient for me and my husband.
I was there to get a breast biopsy. It took 1 hour 30mins to see the doctor. Waiting roon- 50 mins( i was on time), another waiting room after check in- 40mins. So annoying.
Overall the pediatric Er is great but for Dr Isaac Kennedy that was extremely rude when he couldn t figure out what was wrong with my 12 month old baby. He came in a said my baby was spoiled and was crying for no reason and walked out. We found out later that my son was not feeling well and the even Dr Isaac Kennedy didn t examine him, actually sent a sick child home. I didn t know Doctors could be so mean, especially not a pediatric doctor.
The facility and staff were amazing!!! My only disappointment was the food.
The facilities are disappointing. The rooms are very small and dated. However, the L&D nursing staff are great and that's the most important thing! One labor nurse in particular, Maggie, was absolutely amazing. She was so respectful of our birth plan and explained in detail what was going on every step of the way so we felt informed and empowered.
At my recent emergency room visit, I was seen right away by a helpful and courteous staff. I was made very comfortable and I was satisfied with the diagnosis and treatment.
My experience at Overland Park Regional Medical Center was fantastic! The staff were all so kind and friendly. The hospital itself offered new mothers amazing amenities I didnt expect but made the recovery time that much more pleasant. I delivered my 4th and final baby but wish I could have delivered my first 3 there, it was so very nice a place to deliver. Thank you to all the people who made it possible!!
Had as good of an ER experience as you could hope for. I presented with my wife who was exhibiting stroke symptoms. We were immediately greeted and evaluated by the triage nurse and only waited about 5 min before being admitted. The Dr was thorough and took time to explain everything and answer questions. The nurses were great as well.
They took great care of me! The food isn't bad either.
Great hospital! My delivery was fantastic. Wonderful nurses and doctors followed up with delicious food during our stay on mother baby. Couldn t have asked for a better experience!
I had a surgery with Dr Martin from the women s healthcare group, amazing. The nursing staff was top notch and I was well taken care of.
I was there on Aug 25th for knee replacement surgery. The nurses were excellent.
My first night was rough for me and my care tech was Sam. He was outstanding, very caring and patient. I could not have had anyone take better care of me then Sam.
Thanks so much Sam. Susan Fischels
I love this hospital.. the er is fast and efficient.. the nurses and drs are always so professional. I tell everyone to go to this hospital. I will always go to this hospital
Excellent care as always. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was friendly, compassionate and gentle. Nursing staff was great, most were compassionate, encouraging and informative.
Worst experience ever. I been diagnostics wrong twice.
How you need me to send you private message ..do you have an email address?
We loved our stay while delivering our baby at OPRMC. Our Nurses were great and very attentive to all our needs. Great for first time parents. Highly recommend this Hospital.
Nurses and all the support staff have been awesome. I have received excellent care. My only complaint is the condition of the facility. The tray table in my room is peeling apart and the tile in the bathroom is as well. The facility just looks rundown. I would expect better in Overland Park.
The Ortho team was unbelievable. The surgeons were detailed and caring. The nurses, therapists and doctors on the Ortho floor made me feel like family.
My husband was there for 3 days. Excellent care! Professional and friendly. Highly recommend.
I had my first baby there 2 years ago and just recently had my second baby there too. The nurses have always been so amazing and comforting through labor, delivery, and recovery. I m extremely grateful for all they do. I would never go to a different hospital to have my children ask thanks to the amazing experiences I ve had.
I received great patient care. The surgical team was amazing. I received a thank you card from the surgical team soon after my stay. The nurses on the floor were also very caring. The registration team and process was organized, with only a slight mix up on my day of surgery. Anesthesia was very kind and addressed my concerns during my pre-op appointment. Overall, I would recommend OPR.
Stopped in to have a lab draw. Registration was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly. The lab tech was very informative and pleasant to work with. I was in and out pretty quickly, overall experience was good.
Everyone I communicated with was professional, friendly, and understanding of my situation. The duration of my visit was about 90 - 120 minutes, and I did have about three wait periods of 10 minutes or longer; however, I felt as if I was taken care of in a timely fashion.
I am extremely unhappy at being charged a $50 facilities fee!!! I'm sure that my Dr. is paying for the use of the facilities and I feel that patients should not need to pay also. I was told that it is to help pay the heat bill. Is that ridiculous or what?
Very professional and friendly, from reception to technician. I've been here several times, each time very comfortable with the visit. Would recommend to anyone.
Very professional staff that attended to my needs constantly.
The care was quick and precise. Hopefully I won t have to be back anytime soon, but if we do, I know where we will go!
Check-in was extremely fast, and then I was immediately taken to a treatment room. Everyone was so friendly and caring. This hospital really impressed me. It almost makes me want to come back! -- I said, "ALMOST". :)
Great hospitality and friendly staff. Overall, a great delivery and wonderful experience.
I was in and out with no wait time for a procedure in the lab.
Staff is outstanding and facilities are great! Thank you.
I am here now and can't wait to leave... The food Andy few awesome nurses are why they received a star. You won't see a doctor/ have anything explained to you in regards to your injury. Olathe/ Shawnee mission and menora blow this place away.
THE WORST EXPERINCE EVER WITH HEART AND VASCULAR. WOULD NOT RECOMEND TO ANYONE!!!! :(
Once I stepped through the door everyone was very helpful and kind. I didn t have to wait very long for my scan and the nurses and techs were friendly, pleasant and made sure I was comfortable. Everything was very efficient . I was very pleased.
Short wait time and the staff was very professional and friendly
This hospital is absolutely AMAZING! They saved my sons life. I am so thankful that I was transferred here from Lawrence. My baby was in the NICU for 54 days so I was there every day. Medical stuff aside, they were just amazing human beings. They went above and beyond and helped in every way they could.
OPRMC is ALWAYS on time, courteous and professional!!! Truly a GREAT experience!!
I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the staff at the Cardiac cath lab. I felt entirely confident with the attentiveness and explanations of everything to expect regarding my recent procedure. Shout out to Lindsey and Emily who were my competent and friendly nurses. Many others delivered excellent and respectful care as well. I am so grateful for your dedicated team members. I truly can't imagine having a better experience than I had. Thanks for this opportunity to share these thoughts. Please communicate my satisfaction to the highest levels.
Nice enough, directions to the facility are difficult.. the massage parlor in the shopping center has the same building number... the test results were not posted on the link for myhealthone and signing up to see them was a waste of time..
hoping the referral to reliable medical actually works and they contact me. Been a week and a half since the visit and the results were available two days after the visit. Had to call my doctors office to get back in touch with them for the results and who was going to contact me next...
Remember you are in charge of your own health care now.. read everything and question insurance and doctors at every stage.. they know nothing anymore.
It was very nice. Clean facilities. The Dr and nurses were outstanding and explained well what the procedure would be like. Thanks !!
The absolute BEST HOSPITAL EVER I loved each and every nurse I came into contact with. They took really good care of me and my baby. From the anesthesiologist on down. I didn't want to go home.
Exceptional staff and facility - competent, compassionate, and efficient. Even though there is a closer hospital to my home, I will return for any ER needs. Worth the drive!
I needed blood work drawn and everyone was prompt and friendly and asked if there was more they could do for me. I was happy when I left.
I went into the hospital worried about my child and my health. They answered all my question and always made sure I was comfortable. I would recommend this hospital to anybody I know!!!
I received good care at OPRMC. Everyone was kind. There was a wait to get into patient registration, but I wasn't in a hurry.
Came for my check up and it was stress free and ON TIME!!!
The first night was rough. No rooms available so spent the night in ER. It was cold and I really felt abandoned. I Had to strip off all the equipment just to go down the hall to the bathroom. Then try and put it back on. The attendant was not pleased, but he was not around to help. After I moved upstairs to a room my care was exceptional!!! Everyone was Fabulous! I have 4 people that deserve recognition. Sophia in "house keeping" was very helpful and even got me ice and water. My 2 favorite "nurses" Holly and Jeremy. They cared, were very patient and had lots of humor!!!! Last but not least Carmin in Catering. When waiting to find out if I was staying or going home. she called my room to check in and see if i needed anything to eat or was if I going to be there for a meal. She took the time to remember me!
It is scary and lonely to be in the hospital. I felt blessed that your staff cares about us! Thank you!!!!
I was treated with kindness and respect - exactly what I would expect from an HCA facility! My physician had requested additional detail be added to my scan report and the technologist listened carefully and explained to me how she would meet the request. My physician received exactly what she had requested and good news - it showed improvement from my past scans! My physician was pleased and I was happy. Keep up the good work OPRMC and HCA - you are the BEST!
They did not give enough pain killer for time before surgery.
Herman (transport) and Pete (ER Nurse) were outstanding. All of my other physicains and staff were also great but these two stood out. I have had to come back in a few times and had no complaints about staff or procedures.
I recently gave birth to my first baby at OPR. The nurses and doctors in Labor and Delivery, as well as in Mother Baby were phenomenal. I felt like each nurse was my advocate as well as my baby's. Nothing about my birth went as I had planned, but the nurses were understanding and sympathetic to my emotions and gave me time to process each change of plans with as much information and time as I required. If you're trying to decide in what hospital to give birth, definitely consider OPR.
Went very well! Dr. Kaplan is a wonderful doctor. So is Dr. Allen.
My spouse had an outpatient surgical procedure. We were both completely satisfied with the staff and the hospital environment.
I was taken here after a car accident. They took forever to get me seen, wouldn't let my mom in (i understand COVID protocol, but I had a concussion, I shouldn't have been alone) ALSO, they did NOT tell me that I had a concussion, they said all I had was a fractured pelvis. They also did not do a second CT on my pelvis, but stated that they did in my discharge paperwork (which is also how i found out i had a concussion, the day after I was discharged). They gave me CRUTCHES for a fractured pelvis, and after speaking to an Orthopedic Doctor, they should not have done that, they also told me that I could bear weight as tolerated, and the doctor (after reviewing my x-rays) said that I should be completely NON WEIGHT BEARING. This is a terrible hospital, and I will do everything in my power to never, ever go back here again. I am very disappointed with how they treated me.
I was visiting from out of state when I fell and fractured my foot - badly. Everyone from check-in to discharge and in-between was absolutely awesome! And the ER Docs set me up with a terrific surgeon. Thank you for your care and kindness.
THIS HOSPITAL WAS INVENTED BY DEMONS TO TORTURE POOR UNSUSPECTING PATIENTS.
With a few exceptions, nobody knows where anything is. in their own hospital.... front desk folks refuse to call anyone in the hospital for a patient. The elevators shake at every floor; the medical equipment is old, the docs are weird, the techs have a month of training and this is a very scary place....RUN...DO NOT WALK OUT OF THERE,..,..QUICKLY
Could not have been treated better! Entire staff was very busy but took time to help out, answer questions, and take care of me. Emergency Department was flooded with patients, but I still received attention and care. Thanks to the entire staff.
Everyone was so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this staff!
Dr Beaty attn to detail and making sure you understand scope of what his diagnosis is amazing.
Coleen in the lab is a wonderful nurse. She is very caring and professional.
The care provided in the same day surgery preop and post OP departments were amazing. Which I would not have expected any less as an HCA Employee.
It took hours, literally hours to be assigned a room then once I was it was a room shared with another patient.
My family was sent home being told it was cramped and late and better to come tomorrow.
Once in the room, I had the bed closest to the bathroom. Consisted of a bed and an iv pole. There was a bedside table but it was wedged between the other 2. In order for the nurse to get it or me to go to the bathroom everything had to be moved.
My roommate had alot of compan . 3 or 4 people at a time and her husband kept pulling the curtain from my side of the bed to hers and everything was so crowded or would fly right back.
When PT OT came in the next day the added a recliner to the are they claimed to be my part of the room. Which took away my bedside table and crammed my iv pole to the back of my bed. My husband came to visit and was shocked at the conditions.
I asked for another room and was repeatedly told no.
It was uncomfortable, not conducive for recovery after major surgery as I couldn't even get out of bed. I couldn't turn my tv on because my roommates was on very loudly. I knew all of my neighbors personal info not by wanting to, but my hearing it over and over and over.
As much as I am going to be billed for this hospitalization it's a shame that a hospital such as OPR cannot provide rooms for their patients that are appropriate. Even more so for their own HCA employees.
Actually, I went to the Olathe, KS, ER for a kidney stone. There was no waiting and they took me right back. Everyone, including my nurse, my doctor, the lady who took me to imaging, the entire staff, were super friendly, totally competent and professional, and were able to help me get through the process as easily as possible. I can't stress enough how well I was treated and how satisfied I am with my experience. My thanks to them all.
Great nurses and doctors, very quick turnaround. Very clean.
Terrible Hospital , regular appointment times are always 1 hour delay , there billing is unknown to them as well, they say it will cost XX dollars for treatment and then numbers change after treatment, overall very bad experience and will not recommend
Was here for my wife during an ER visit. Prompt service was really surprising and she received excellent care!
Everyone was very professional & efficient. I would highly recommend the hospital & staff.
The whole experience was super. The staff was very professional and kind, and took the time to explain what I needed to do. I would highly recommend them.
Arrived at 9:15 am; checked in at 9:30 am; exam room at 10:15 am; saaw doctor at 10:50 am. Much too long.
Everything went well. I can't see giving a high rating for a Stress Test. Not the first I've had at OPRMC. One day after the last one my Aortic Valve started to fall apart and I almost didn't make it through that. Needless to say, I was a bit tense about this procedure. One week out all seems to be good.
I am horribly upset!!! My 24-year-old daughter was in a hit and run today while 28 weeks pregnant (the police were able to locate the driver). She went to OP Regional and is still there now. She was sent to the ER who was not attending to her. Her sister, a labor & delivery nurse plus 3 years ICU experience was with her. SHE was the one taking her vitals showing her blood pressure was dropping and she was turning white (pictures of her dropping vitals). They asked the ER to take her vitals and the nurse named "Nick" laughed at them and walked away!! The ER department refuses to give them Nick's last name. Who does that??? Then, knowing the patient was escalating the issue to her doctor to get some medical assistance with her phone they were then told they were not allowed to use their phones or had to go out to the waiting area to use the phone. WOW. Thank goodness they had a phone to get medical attention!! Imagine that...at a hospital. My daughter is scared for her baby and I thank God that she was able to have a nurse who cares be by her side to comfort her. Too bad it is not a nurse who is getting paid by the hospital or her insurance company. My daughter was just told that the charge nurse filed a grievance, however, no one has come in to speak to either of my daughter's to ask if there is a problem. How do you write up a grievance without knowing what the grievance is? Maybe the truth is there is no grievance filed. #thisisnotgoingaway
My mother received the best care at this hospital. The staff especially the nurses were outstanding.i will definitely use this hospital again.
I have unfortunately been at your hospital a few too many times in the last few years but one thing is the same . Great staff from doctors on down. but the nurses are simply Awesome they are friendly and always will run and get you a snack extremely professional and always with a smile the ladies that bring the food always make me smile
Hardley any wait time...scan done in 15 minutes and out!! Very impressive!!
