Just installed their new Prism windows and they look great. Easy to install. The low profile, looks like an aluminium window, but at almost half the cost of aluminium, and they have better ratings. Would like to see more options for operation like a European tilt and turn system. Overall, great experience, highly recommend.

Having windows replaced , less then 3 months later, the window crank broke, I contacted the installers and Ostaco, nothing has been done, over a year now, still nothing.
Stay away from Ostaco products, save yourself money and grief, go elsewhere poor quality.

We recently had a new patio door and palladium window from Ostaco, purchased and installed by VanDolders in Collingwood. Can t say enough about the quality of the installation and the repairs that they needed to do to prepare the opening. A bit concerned about Ostaco's quality control however. A couple of weeks after the install I noticed water dripping inside the house from the bottom of the window insert. I noticed a couple of gaps on the outside moulding so I called VanDolder, who were quick to respond. The installer who responded took off the inside moulding and commented that none of the screws holding the outside trim were tightened properly. In fact, one screw was even missing. Fairly simple fix and the door looks great but given Ostaco's obvious poor quality control we have fingers crossed that there are no unforeseen problems down the road.

Avoid Ostaco. We replaced all the windows in our house with their product. The windows are actually quite nice. We went with triple glazed casement. The cranks are under-sized for the weight of the window, so you need a lot of effort to open and close them. But they look nice and are doing their job.

It s the last details where they fail. Ostaco used a poorly designed system for the screens (think cheap and flimsy). If you take the screen out of the window, even a few times, you can expect the mounting pins to come off. That leaves a gap on one or more corners, which bugs find quickly. If the window is open and exposed to good gust of wind, the screen can pop out because the mounting system is so weak. I have a nice gouge in my hardwood floor where one landed on its corner.

They tried many times to fix the problem screens. The catch is it can take months for the technician to show up; it s at their pleasure and convenience, not yours. He tried three times at least to get the ones in the bedroom right. They were either too tight or too loose. The last set are so tight that I can barely pull them out, using extreme force. I leave them in permanently because they re sure to break if I remove them.

In her last email before she stopped responding, the service manager told me they re done: it s out of warranty, tough luck. Apparently it s my fault that their screens are garbage and their technician can t measure a screen properly.

I m actually easy to please. Supply a good quality product. Install it properly. If you make a mistake, fix it quickly on the first try. Ostaco is incapable of doing this. Even though the windows themselves are fine, I would never recommend this company because of their lousy screens and poor customer service.

What warranty... We had 5 windows replaced with Ostaco. Windows are great, however the outside paint around the windows have faded (Sandalwood colour gone)! Sales rep (Ken Macpherson ) visited, took pictures and responded 2 months later after repeated emails to both him & head office - nothing they can or will do about it. Our less expensive Northstar windows upstairs have not faded at all. Guess we need to replace rest of windows with Northstar!! :-( Thanks for your instructions to email admin@ostaco.com... which I did 3 days ago, and still have not had a response!!

The main patio doors were installed too wide so they would not close properly leaving about an inch gap for the wind to go in and out. After half a year fight they send a tech that cut them and reduced a gap to about half an inch. Which is still a lot. The company does not recognize the issue. They don't even want to send a technician to confirm the issue. I am begging them for almost a year... some way to treat customers. My advice if you are a big builder you bay be able to get a response, but if you are a small individual builder then you are out of luck.

Hi, I am a GC and I HAD been very impressed with Ostaco windows when I was first introduced to them about 5 years back. Since then i had recommended them for every project I could. We have installed around 100 or more units over the years. In the last year and a half i have had issues on every order. This started prior to covid with some minor issues. Then covid hit and the warranty claims got pushed aside, it has been a year and half since i submitted my claim and still no replacement. Since that job i have has 3 more separate orders that have had issues, again warranty claims submitted but not idea on when the work would be completed. The last oder is the one that has pushed me over the edge. My ome window came with a broken frame, and broken in a spot that could have only happened at the factory prior to installing the casement operating hardware, but yet ot was shipped anyway. I rejected it on site when inspecting and sent it back for repair. It came back 5 weeks later and was now missing a piec of glass... like how in the F do you have that many touch a window and send it out missing 1 of 3 pieces of glass???? Way to go Ostaco!! You have lost my business and i will tell everyone to avoid dealing with you at all costs!! And ps, if you read this, GET MY OTHER 4 WARRANTY CLAIMS DELT WITH!

Purchased a 12ft patio door. Cheap construction. Very drafty. Cold comes right through. LoE tint is minimal. You can hear everything outside. Installer sent by company President did lousy job. Calked over expanding foam while still expanding so calking uneven and full of bubbles. To lazy to come back next day and do the job properly.
Stay away from company. Notice the low score on HomeStars as well.
Regret purchase terribly and obviously dont recommend.

Update: 1 year old.
All seams In every corner broken. What a complete waste of money. Very poor quality and construction. 300k Reno and we get stuck with this!

Very poor customer service ! VERY POOR WARRANTY !!! How does an entrance door glass that fogs up not qualify for warranty after 5yrs ???? The service lady told me that thier 25yr warranty only applies to door hardware ...when i asked what is there for hardware on a door her reply was well the hinges and handles are hardware sir !!! WOW the hadles didnt come with the door and whats a set of hinges cost to replace ??? That is if they ever send someone to actually look at it ??? How can a company EVER stay in business with these fine print excluseions in thier pamphlets and BRAG about thier warranty ?????

I purchased these doors 7 years ago with a 10 year warranty after 5 years the door started rotting all in the same spot. Ostaco came to inspect the doors and said they won t be warrantied due to having snow resting against them? I m sure glad they sell a product for the Canadian environment we live in. Great Job ostaco as a contractor I ll be sure to share this news with the many other contractors I know in the business.

Sent an email to ostaco over 2 weeks ago with no response. The customer service is a zero.
