I'm sure my review will be updated over the coming days but I'm currently a couple days out of spending around 10 days at this hospital leaving with a final diagnosis of sepsis caused by pyelonephritis. During my visit, I was treated rudely, abused, ridiculed and disrespected. The only time I felt I was given decent care was in the ER by the PA Christine and nurse Jacob. I tried to go to floor managers, charge nurses, even finally to the hospital patient advocate about how I was being treated but no one would sit and hear me out without getting offended, a chip on their shoulder or just flat out retaliating and treating me worse. I found that 1-they didn't like me advocating for my own health 2- being alone during the day with no one to witness how I was treated made things worse 3- your access to your pain medication is dependent upon your current RN and finally 4-when they want you gone, they want you gone... no discharge explanations, no medication talks, just call a volunteer and disappear!

It's a very good hospital. Staff is also nice but the emergency is always too busy and that is never a good experience when you have to wait long in an emergency. I understand, is not their fault.

Be Aware of the Charge Codes on the Emergency medical bill. Make sure to check twice before you pay the bill. ER Department is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS .IN and OUT out of ER for Eye Pain in 30 min was given a bill of $2500.

The entire facility is FAR above any in the area. The staff treat every person (patient and family) with respect and dignity. The Birthing Center is wonderful and the nursing staff ensure the patient (and newborn) receive the highest level baby friendly care. My wife and I live in Peoria and we will for sure drive to St Joseph when we have our next child. That is truly how wonderful that floor is.

This poor review is in regards to the excessive hold time to speak with someone at the billing department of Bloomington Medical Laboratory. I waited on hold for over an hour on my first attempt to call, 30 mins on my second attempt before giving up and again unsuccessfully talking to a human. I tried again this morning and had to press a few different options to finally get to the wrong department. They put me in line to hold for a manager which took 25mins. When I finally expressed my concern to the manager she had no explanation as to why the wait was so long.

I went in around 1230am. I was diagnosed with postpartum psychosis & manic bipolar 6months ago, it went away 3wks ago & came back 5 days ago pretty bad. I went into the ER told them exactly what s happening & that I ve been having constantly visions of hanging myself & I knew exactly how I will do it. The doctor told me to drink some chamomile tea to relax. Nurse came in to discharge me & left to get my papers. She never came back so I left without any one seeing me or saying anything to me

I can't say enough about the hospital staff while my daughter was a patient there late last week. I wish I could say the same for some of the staff in the Emergency room when I had to run her in last night. It's amazing to me how in one building the staff, their attitudes, behavior and demeanor can vary so drastically.

I am shocked how these people could call themselve...

I am shocked how these people could call themselves doctors.

The ER "doctors" do not understand the very basics -- they sent my wife home twice when she was experiencing excruciating pain in 2016. They refused to do an MRI on her saying it has radiations and would hurt the baby (she was 4 month pregnant). Are you kidding me? CT has radiation, but MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Image and it's the BEST alternative to CT because it's just a huge magnet -- perfect for pregnant women. My wife's OBG was out of the office for 3 days and they refuse to do anything until she's back. She came back shocked at the fact that they'd refuse to do an MRI on my wife and said that if we had went to Peoria, one would have been done on the first day. They gave her morphine for 3 straight days for her pain and that supposedly doesn't hurt the baby!? Turned out she had a severe pneumonia infection seen on the MRI. Had it been delayed further, the disease could have progressed further and both my wife and the baby could be in danger.

Then in 2017, I went in again after slipping and fell. They put skin glue on me and I was in and out in no more than 1 hour. They sent a $4000 bill to my insurance company, resulting in a $1500 bill for me. Seriously? They should just go rob a bank. To compare the costs, my wife had an emergency in New York City and had to stay in the hospital overnight and the bill was only $900! Seriously, is OSF kidding? Comparing the cost of living of NYC to here in Bloomington IL, you would expect the bill from NYC to be much bigger right? Despite being a "in network" hospital for my insurance, they certainly charge "out of network" rates and that's absolutely evil. They call themselves a catholic hospital but there's nothing catholic about them -- they don't care about you or anyone else!

Prior to our daughter's birth, we took some preparatory classes and learned a great deal. We toured the birthing center and were impressed by what we saw. Ultimately, we selected OSF over BroMenn (nothing against BroMenn), and we had a wonderful experience. We intend on using OSF for any future children as well.

I gave birth here by the recommendation of my ob versus going to the other hospital, as she thought this staff is more professional and better. The whole experience was AMAZING. The maternity ward is much nicer than what the video shows on their website, the rooms have all been updated and there is a nice spacious couch turned bed for your support person to sleep with plenty of storage and a beautiful HUGE window. The staff was so amazing I am so thankful for everything they did for me. They were wonderful people, truly wish I would've brought goodie bag to gift them with as I love them so much.

Emergency was busy but they need to check on you once in a while and let you know. My father in law was in there for 9 hr after he fell at his house. He was only seen twice and when he need cleaned up after a he wet himself no one would come to help. After we talked to a supervisor they did something.
He was the admitted to a room on 3 rd

floor. Sometime during the night
they moved him to intensive car and didn't let his wife know

Please be aware that all OSF Hospitals are incredibly money-hungry. Due to their own gross mismanagement, they now try to bleed every penny they can out of you. Make sure you submit your medical bills to your health insurance (or public aid or Medicare if you are a IDHFS or Medicare beneficiary) because they will NOT. Their attorneys have just been handed a big boon by the IL Supreme Court as well, and they are much more concerned with making every penny they can off your misfortune than they are making you whole. Go to BroMenn in Normal if you can, they are much kinder and less greedy. How ironic that this is supposed to be a Catholic hospital group...

I came here and was admitted overnight . Everyone was wonderful! I wish I remembered everyone s name but my overnight nurse in particular , Jemma I believe , was phenomenal! I ve never had to spend the night in a hospital before. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the night and was so nice ! She definitely eased my nerves. Thank you St Joseph Staff !

If I could give zero stars I would. I spent an entire month in and out of OSF, gathered $1000+ in medical bills and still have zero answers.

OSF will run all the test you want so insurance can pay the hospital thousands of dollars but have zero motivation to find the source of my problems. I was belittled, degraded, and made to feel like everything I was doing was wrong and it s my fault I m having so many problems that they continue to say they don t know the cause of. They will blame you for the slightest thing, tell you that s what you need to change, but when my problem persists they throw their hands up and say well I don t know .

OSF is a money hungry hospital who preys on the ill and poor knowing they don t have the money or materials to advocate for themselves. I would rather die in my bed due to their lack of motivation than go back and get another bill for an I don t know .

My grandma was taken in at 8 this morning by my mom and was having some odd symptoms. We didn't know what was wrong and all they had to do was run a blood test. They got home at 11 so it took 15 hours for them to do a check up. Not coming back here for sure

Long, long wait. The doctor was a extremely nice and considerate. Now the emergency room staff I can't give any stars at all. There were some stars but they were overshadowed by the awful nurses. We were in there for over 5 and a half hours and 1 and half was waiting for an IV. All in all pretty bad, you might get better service at the morgue, avoid if u can cause this place is

Occupational Health is agonizingly slow, I don t know if the workers are actively trying to sabotage their job or just incompetent but there is no rhyme or reason for who gets admitted. As of writing this I ve seen a whole room full of people come in after me and get admitted. This makes me like Quest Diagnostics a whole lot more.

My grandmother just got out of surgery not too long ago. The nurses haven't gave her her meds the past few days. She doesn't look like herself because her blood sugar has been high and blood pressure and plus she just got out of surgery. She needed to go to the bathroom right out of surgery and no one came to help. We asked an aide and my grandmas nurse was no where to be found. I will not let my grandmother pee herself in a bed. This is absolutely ridiculous and they need more nurses. I am so upset with all of this.

In terms of the medical work I have no complaints as they are professional and did a good job. However, as others have stated, they really need to revamp their billing department. After our daughter was born we paid off all of our bills from the hospital. Nearly a year later we received a notice from collectors saying we owed a bill to the Bloomington Medical Laboratory even though we never even received a bill from them nor even knew that they were separate from the hospital staff. I understand that things get billed separately in a hospital setting, but at least send us a bill so we can pay it. We shouldn't be learning of the bill for the first time from collectors. If this organization could get just a little bit more effort out of their billing department then they would be 5 stars.

This review is for the ER department...ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! My 9 year old son has a G-tube it came out, I called the ER department BEFORE I went to ask if they would be able to put it back in and they said yes. I get there and wait HOURS in the waiting room only to be called back to a room and wait HOURS longer just to be told that they could not put the G-tube back in because it needs to be done by a pediatric doctor! I waited well over 4 hours to get absolutely no service! I will NEVER step foot in this ER again! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service!!!!

They will let you catch covid because they only screen visitors with temp taking other than that you wait in the waiting room with other sick patience until it s time to triage you.
The nurse at check in rubber the patients before me s arms up and down for sum kind of test so I had to ask her to wash her hands and the area down before I even walk up to the counter.
They then began ignoring me like I m the problem.
Don t come here!!! Isabel was the rn the other would not give her name but it s Darien.
