I don't need to tell you that La Sagrada Familia is worth seeing. It is a marvel to behold no matter whether you like your cathedrals more traditional looking or not. (It's worth seeing because no picture can capture all the intricate details of this massive structure.) But I do need to tell you that for the most pleasant experiance, buy your tickets way before you leave for your trip, choose the earliest hours to go and then arrive even earlier (about 15 minutes). Tickets are timed entry.
I was there 15 minutes before opening time and the line had already formed, which was ok, but if you want to take photographs when there are the least number of people, you will only get a small window to do that before the hordes of tourists descend and keep coming. I went at opening time and the light was incredible. Watching it stream through the stained glass and flood the cathedral with color was spectacular in and of itself.
If you want to go up the elevators to the roof (requires additional fee), don't wait until the last minute, the best times (morning and sunset) sell out in advance. You'll want to book online AT LEAST a week in advance, if not more.
Also, Gaudi is not interred in the La Sagrada Familia, but the chapel of Our Lady of Carmel, in the Temple crypt (you access it from outside the Sagrada Familia). It is important to keep in mind that this is a chapel that is used by the local community as a place of worship, so all rules and etiquette should be observed.
